We had a huge tree that hung over our house that was super old and we were worried about it falling on our house, so we decided to have it removed. They gave us a great price. The day of the removal they arrived 15 minutes early which was great! Most of the cutting took up the entire day and once it was removed the guys actually had to leave because their truck literally could not handle any more tree. They came back the next day and with a machine loaded all the trunk into a truck. Obviously they don’t work weekends so we waited till Monday (which is perfectly fine and reasonable) and they came and ground out the stump. A great job was done , the entirety of it was removed and filled in you’d never know there used to be a tree. My only complaint would be the guy operating the grinder kept stopping to text. Idk but I think that’s a little dangerous and unprofessional. I know when I’m at work I don’t use my phone but whatever. Besides that everything was great. Most of the divots were filled in leaving little damage to our lawn. All debris were removed and cleaned. Thank you for the great job!

If youre going to have trees removed and want it done timely, safely, and right the first time - then Northeastern is the tree service for you.We had almost 10 trees removed. The quote was very reasonable for the amount of work. On the days of (big job, so it took 2 days), everything went very smoothly. These guys are professionals - they brought the right tools - bucket trucks, chippers, log haulers, and a large tree removal machine that looked like something you see on Discovery Channel! The machine grabs the tree, cuts it, then picks it up and moves it like its a 5lb weight. Its incredible to watch - clearly they have some highly skilled operators. The guys on the ground were fantastic - definitely went the extra mile if we asked them for something and we really appreciated that. They were also incredibly patient (and very knowledgeable) if we had a question.We would HIGHLY recommend Northeastern to friends and family. Companies come and go but theyve been around forever and theres a reason for that - you should accept no substitutes for the best tree service around. Give them a call!

Dan and his crew were great. They took down a huge maple in our yard and cut the wood to size so my husband can split it for the fireplace next winter. Dan was always very responsive via text with questions, and his crew was quick and friendly.

The day the two men came over to cut down the tree and some limbs on other trees I was so impressed by the great relationship Matt had with them. It was obvious they really liked and respected him. I asked Derek (the Foreman) to isolate this huge branch to show I had it removed about 10 years ago because it stretched toward my neighbors pool, so I can show insurance adjuster.  Derek had it moved to the street so I could save it and it would later be picked up when the tree in front yard is removed this week coming.  Ed was the contact to NE----we called each other many times to set this job up and meet.  Two good guys!!  Potential damage to the roof ---the operator of the machine very skilled.  My neighbors and I watched how he used the equipment like 2 fingers picking up the branches on the roof in perfect balance so nothing rolled or tipped onto the roof or rammed into the windows, frames, or house walls.  The NE guy who cleaned up the roof came to the edge of the roof and went back and forth to let me know where any damage was on the roof as I walked around below. To me, they all had the sense to understand that maybe I was a guy they did not have to tell to stand back, or to move away, or to ask the manager and questions  --that is USUALLY the case.  I understand how to relate to these skilled people-- I ran a few jobs myself.  I was absolutely impressed!!Bill BCranston, RI

I was very pleased with all aspects of their services. My property had tree damage from storms and caterpillars that Northeastern handled with professionalism and care. Removed a large oak for me in a difficult position. The quote was best of 3 other companies called to give estimate. They listened to my concerns about possible damage and covered entire area. Office staff is courteous too.

After signing the quote I was given, I never heard from them again. I spoke with their office twice over 2 months and the tree team never contacted me to schedule. Now its been 4 months. Do they not want business? If theyre short-staffed and overloaded, they shouldnt give quotes and the office should say so. I wasted the entire season and now Ill have to find another company in spring. I wanted to like this company, but they wont let me.

North Eastern was doing stump grinding at my neighbors house and unfortunately a rock hit my truck in the process. Upon notifying my neighbor and North Eastern they wasted no time making it right. I was recommended to a very good body shop in the area and 5 days later I have a truck that looks better than new! Accidents happen to the best of us but only the best of us own it and make it right. If they treat their customers half as good as they treated me I would definitely do buisness with them!

Ive managed property concerns in five states, and I am no stranger to tree issues. North Eastern Tree Services stood out from the start. The crew also seamlessly orchestrated parking in a tight groove. This was very impressive for a kid who learned how to drive in The Bronx.They introduced themselves, made sure they got our names, and were patient about our odd yard layout. Once gates were open, they examined everything and were totally clear on the project aims, stages, and cuttings. Their work respected the shape and structure of the tree. They commented on its health. The yard was cleaned and cleared perfectly. In fact, they cleaned debris and even dust from the neighbors yards and porches. Consideration to an extreme in all interactions.I have not seen this level of care, concern and cleanliness from a provider in a long time. Tree services can be very focused on the tree work. This was the total package. 100%. In closing, it was a huge plus that the crews were warm and friendly. The level of respect was worthy of note in etiquette books!

I asked for a quote for some tree trimming at two properties. It took two weeks to get the quote for one and I had to call to follow up a couple of times just to get it and had to ask three times to get the quote on the second property. The discrepancy in cost between one property and the other was quite large and with no explanation as to why. I will not be moving forward with them and am very disappointed in the poor customer service. I used them before and had a fine experience. Too bad.

Contacted this company after a tree had uprooted and took part of my fence with it. The tree didn’t completely uproot and was hanging over my deck. A gentlemen came out within the hour and quoted us $2000 for the tree. In my mind I just figured they would take the whole tree, hence why the quote was so high. I guess that’s my mistake for assuming, but you’d think they would mention that. Tree service guys came within the hour and started cutting the tree using the lift. They stopped the job half way through to run to another job. Yard looked like a mess for days until the next time they returned. They “finished” the job leaving the uproot and the stump. We have been trying to talk to someone for weeks because they gave us false hope in the beginning saying that they would come back for it. Overall the business is very unprofessional, there are a lot of tree services out there next time I will look elsewhere.

Absolutely zero communication after I accepted their bid for the removal of a pine tree. They never called me about scheduling. I had to keep checking back after the 4 to 6 week window expired and finally after 15 weeks a date was established.The truck showed up late on the scheduled day and took off after the tree was down. The stump and big logs were left behind. I was home and nobody bothered to ring the doorbell to tell me when to expect the work to be finished.A couple of days pass and I have to call again to see what is going on. Fortunately the stump was ground the next day. The work is still not done though as giant logs are still sitting in my front yard and I have no clue when theyre coming to take them.

They are horrible! Not to be trusted. They promise you the world and don’t follow through with any of it. Kathy in the billing department is rude and doesn’t have the facts in front of her when she speaks. Do not call them for any reason. I had heard terrible things about them but I guess I needed to see for myself. CONFIRMED!!!!

I had large (3’ at the base, 50’tall) tree at the edge of my property that needed to be taken down one branch at the time because of the surrounding structures. A friend recommended North Eastern to me, saying that they’d done a great job for a great price in a similar situation. I called them and got a good bid as well. At under $2k, it was 30% lower than another company who also wanted me to get a street permit and a detail cop to block the street so that they could bring a large crane.The first day the crew showed up, Comcast was digging the street -they had posted signs only the night before. The crew who had driven to Boston in maddening traffic for over 90 minutes had to turn around, and I thought they’d never want to hear from me again. Thankfully they set up on other appointment the following week, showed up, and took care the tree. The guy handling the bucket truck was really skilled at it, and they had all the branches down within four hours without damaging anything around them.I got a great bargain for a well-done job. I didn’t expect a company where people show up with white gloves and clean up every last twig on the ground. I also didnt mind them driving their heavy equipment on the property. Other reviewers report on scheduling issues, but if you are proactive by making sure to call or text a few days ahead and then the day before to confirm that things are on schedule, it should be fine.As long as you are willing to be a little flexible, accommodating and prepared, this has to be the tree company offering the best value out there. I’ll definitely call them again the next time I need some tree work.

After waiting 5 weeks for them to show up on the scheduled time between 7:30-8AM they never showed. Called the office by 9AM Matt called me back said they would be here by 10:00 never showed. Called again the office they said they were on their way it is now 2:00PM still no call or crew. These people seem like they never intended to show up. I have waited home all this time. Very poor service. I never write a bad review but this time i feel its important.TO FOLLOW UP:They did show about 3:30. The did the work as promised very nice job. Matt did call me the next morning to apoligize.

I called and was able to get someone to meet for an estimate the following morning. Not only was he early, he gave a very fair estimate AND they were able to fit the job in that morning. Jeff and his crew were fantastic, professional, thorough and efficient. Clean up was awesome, you could not tell a branch had been on the ground! North-Eastern Tree Service is lucky to have such a top notch, respectful and professional team! Highly recommend!

Overall very satisfied with the work, used NE tree service to take down some branches from a very large tree. Quick response for someone to come out for a quote and able to easily make an appointment to do the work.I’d say the only places to improve to get a 5:-Left a small branch hanging on some wires-Didn’t come during the appointment window, but did get the work done before the windowDefinitely DO recommend and would use again!

If I could give them a negative star I would. My estimate was back in April. I told them to proceed with the work. Months went by and my calls went ignored. It is September now and I posted a negative review on them and they called me with in an hour. They schedule service for the next week. Well, its the next week and I stayed home waiting for them to show up and never did and no call either. They dont want my money, some other company will. Stay away from this company. And if the company is reading this, dont bother calling me because i will ignore you.

Matt really needs to focus on his job and not trying to persuade his customers to go out with him for drinks, and in the same sentence say he’s in a relationship. Absolutely terrible experience.

We contacted North Eastern Tree Service for a quote, Josh came to our home the next day, & once we gave the go ahead he fit us right into their schedule. Josh, Eric, & the rest of the North Eastern team were here first thing in the morning & did not leave until them job was done!! I couldnt believe my eyes when I got home from work. Not only was the tree 100% removed but they cleaned everything up & left no debris behind. We had asked them to leave us some wood for our fireplace & that they did & in a nice clean pile to boot. North Eastern Tree Service will forever be my go to for any & all of my tree needs & they should be yours too!

North Eastern removed a tree in my yard back in August. They were supposed to return to remove the stump. I’ve called the office multiple times and was told a manager would call me back. It has been 2 months and I haven’t heard back. I sent in my payment and included a note requesting a call. No one bothered to return my call. Instead, they showed up to my house today and went into my backyard without notice or permission. I only know this because I have cameras outside. This is absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable. It’s quite alarming that they would enter my yard when I have a beware of dog sign on my fence. The lack of communication is upsetting. I’m sure the staff that showed up today, was scheduled by the office but why wouldn’t you confirm with the home owner? The stump has already been removed (by another company) so I am not sure what they did in my yard for an hour. You cannot just show up to someone’s home and enter their yard without consent.

High Praise. The reason for one star not selected is because of timing. I signed the contract on 5/3/19 and the estimator said see you in about two weeks. After five weeks I called them and left a voice mail. I received a phone call with 24 hour notice on June 25. There was plenty of bad weather. The employees were very professional. The employees moved yard ornaments they feared might get damaged. In the end there was no property damage. Clean up very good. I would recommend this Company.

I called the vice president Adam multiple multiple times about an estimate I got wanting to know when they were going to be able to start the job he told he that Matt would get back to me and still has not gotten back I have called every week for the last 3 weeks just to be ignored.The first time they came to my house they actually came pretty quick but I think it was because they were cutting the tree of the guy behind me. I have other work that I would like for them to do but at this point I feel that they really dont care if they do the work or not

Scheduled a quote with Scott. He arrived on time, which is rare in my experience, and provided a reasonable estimate. It was not an urgent issue so it took them about a month to do the job, which was absolutely fine with me. They arrived as scheduled. I had some questions about the job and Scott immediately called me back and quickly rectified the situation. Finished product looks great. Great customer service. Will use again.

It’s unfortunate because I wanted to use Northeast Tree. Northeast came out and gave me an estimate to have my tree trimmed. They gave me a price and I was satisfied and wanted to move forward. The issue started when I tried to make an appointment. I have literally called every week for the last month, but no one calls back. As a business owner myself I know I can’t afford to blow off a customer, because not everyday is busy and their will be times when I will need every customer. It maybe a good thing that they did not call me back, because if they had called and scheduled an appointment they probably won’t show up.

Three times they never showed up when I had a scheduled time. They rescheduled for a fourth time and one hour later I get a call back only to be told they had to reschedule again. I told them to forget it and I will go somewhere else. I will never recommend this company to anyone.

Terrible communication. Showed up days later than expected. Tried to charge more than they quoted. Three weeks later, the wood that was supposed to be taken away by the next day is still in backyard.

I have used there services many time and each time found them to be professional, timely , neat on cleanup and pleasant to deal with.

At the end of the day they did a solid job on my property. The price was great and they did good work on my trees. However, their scheduling department needs a lot of work. It is my impression that they just wait for you to call and remind them to finish the job. As I have read in many reviews, this seems to be their Achilles heel. I had paid in cash on the day the trees came down but they left the job still needing to remove the large trunks and grind the stumps. If I had not kept calling to remind them to finish the job, I dont know if anything would have been completed.I would probably use them again but would definitely hold back the payment until the job was completed.

Horrible customer service experience. Was told I would receive a call to book appointment after my consultation was done, never did. Called to get the appointment booked, booked an appointment that they bounced around and kept cancelling on me WITHOUT CALLING TO TELL ME for about 2 months. - Finally, after a 2nd no call/no show I called and cancelled appointment and will not ever attempt to book anything through this service again.

.Called after the macro burst last August. He came out and offered a winter rate estimate. All seemed good. Said to call in November to set up a date. I called 11/16... will call back within 10 days. I called 12/17... will call with date to get me on the list. I called again 12/21, he said he had my phone # wrong. Really? They came 12/23, did one tree. The guys did a good job. But they needed to come back with reinforcement to do the tree in the back. Big surprise.. they never came.May 30 half the tree they didnt come back to take down fell on my shed.I called them just to say thanks for blowing me off... the women who answered was rude and said well i dont know what you want me to do. No apologies. No, oh wow let me see what I can do for you.Shame on me for continuing on with them from the beginning.

A few months ago, I called them to trim and shape my very large tree. Matt came out to see the job, gave me an estimate, and gave me an estimate about how long it would take. NEVER GOT A CALL FROM THEM TO SCHEDULE!!! NO CALL AT ALL !!! VERY POOR BUSINESS. I see why so many reviews from people are 1! They are VERY UNRELIABLE!!!

Call ANY other service, not these guys!!!Not sure what happened to these guys, they used to be good 5 years ago the last time I hired them, but that’s changed drastically... The recent job they did which they never even finished was like a bad joke! They lied about the saw sizes they had, about when they would come to finish parts of the job and eventually just became unreachable after still not finishing. They might be okay for tree trimming or taking down a small little tree, but don’t rely on them for anything beyond a 4’ diameter. They just don’t have the proper equipment or knowhow...

Hired them March 2015 and they did a great job, at a fair price. Removed a dead trunk, a stump, and cleaned up 3 giant oaks. Hired them again for 2016 and they took 3 weeks to schedule a date after visiting to give a quote. Then never showed. Then billed us. Then lied and said they had us on schedule for a week AFTER our scheduled date (even though the original date was left on a voicemail). Then tried to bill us again for work that was never done. Hire them once, but never hire them a second time. Reviews show that they do great work once, then never show when you hire them again

They did a great job. I would absolutely use them again. The tree they took down was very big and it was no biggie to them. It was in between 2 houses and they did not hit either one😰😀

Excellent service! They came out quickly and gave me a quote. They may not be the least expensive, but I believe you get what you pay for. Mine was a pretty big job with one complete tree removal, and 3 large trees cut back that were hanging over my pool. They threw in a few extra little services for no charge. They did take about 4 weeks to get out to do the job, but I respect the fact that they are that busy. Another good sign of a quality company, so plan ahead and dont call them at the last minute.

If I could give less than one star I would. I used this company because I had a referral. The estimate happened quickly, everything else was poorly executed. I had to follow up for over a month in order to schedule the service.Day of service - they were late, I had to call more than once to find out what was going on. They ended up coming at the end of the day. The work was done, but they damaged my fence and cracked the siding on my house.It has now taken over a month to reconcile the cost of the damage to my property and they even resent the invoice listing it as past due; while I await my contact to tell accounts payable to update the price (they offered to fix the damage but I dont want them back at my house).Take your money elsewhere, its worth it to pay a higher price for service.

Regretfully, I have to give North Eastern Tree Services a poor review. An arborist did come out and provided an estimate. My husband and I decided to go ahead with the work using this company. Over a month has passed and no call from the arborist to schedule a date, week or even the month this work could be done. I have documented 5 calls to the office over that time frame trying to have an arborist call me back. Each time I explained to the office employee the situation and that all I really wanted was a call back from SOMEONE. I was told this was elevated to a supervisor, at one point that the arborist was on vacation and that the messages have been passed along. Well all of my follow up fell on deaf ears as I have NEVER gotten a call back from anyone at the company. My 6th phone call was to cancel the work order and even them losing my business did not prompt a call back with any inquiry or apology. The most serious complaint is the absolute lack of communication, just awful or more accurate, nonexistent.

We had these guys out for an estimate last June.. they were a few hours late for the assessment but we got a good quote and scheduled a day for the work. They didnt show up. Called back and scheduled a second day - they didnt show up again. Spent the next 2 months calling their office (pls note their office team is kind and professional despite this 1 star review) - realistically we spoke 8-10 times about a 3rd scheduling attempt. The office folks acknowledged this was escalated to a supervisor but nothing came of it. We never got a call back - in October we bought a landscape trailer and did the work ourselves. I got an estimate from Matt, sent it in, and called to make sure it was received. 3+ weeks went by without hearing anything. I called back once a week just because I hadnt heard anything, and kept getting told Next week theyll call and schedule.After 3 weeks of this I called a competing service and had my tree work completed less than a week later.Because of all this waiting, other outdoor projects were delayed. I cant recommend Northeastern Tree for that very reason.A neighbor had the same experience with stump grinding work. Hes gone a month without a call back.Lots of reviews that sound like mine piling up. Im guessing the way they do business is to not do business.

I paid them to remove a tree and they pushed it into my neighbors yard and wont come back to fix it. Now I have to pay another company to fix their work. Would not recommend.

The guys from Northeastern Tree Service were great! Not only did they remove a tree in a very tricky spot, they carefully replanted several plants that were in danger of being demolished during the removal and the clean up was spectacular! Id absolutely recommend them!

Our neighborhood did not appreciate the 7:20am starting time today, on a peaceful Saturday morning. We were barraged with the loud & penetrating rumbles of their trucks which woke-up the entire street. It was far too early. Next time a noise ordinance violation will be issued!.Next time, Im calling the police

North Eastern Tree is the worst!! Stay away from these unprofessional,liars.Scott came by and supplied us with a written quote to us which we agreed upon and we called back for our appointment on 4 occasions over a one month period,the girl took in the office who took our quote and info said she would tell Scott and that he would be out to do the job,no one ever showed up or even called to say they werent coming.We called again to rescheduled same thing,she said sorry,Ill have Scott call you this afternoon,again,no show,no call,we called back 2 days later and she said Scott will call you back in 2 hours,again,no phone call,we called back the next am ad she answered the phone again,we said listen,if you dont want to honor the quote and pass on the job just tell us so we can get someone else,she said no we will be by and Scott will call you in an hour or two to let you know what time theyll be over,again....no call and no show,these people are horrendous as acting like a business professional,the worst,if I treated my customers like this Id be fired.Its too bad it had to resort to a negative review,and Scott,if your reading this and its nor you,shes making you look really bad,because we think N.E.Tree ,well, we wont use that language here,but you know,this company.....

There best clean up ever after taking down huge trees 😎

I was contacted by this company shortly after I move into my new home. They stated that they provided work for the prior owners (Knew their name and my name) I asked the prior owner of my house and he had never used them before. Deplorable way to stimulate new business.

This is the most disfunctional company that I have ever dealt with. We had used them in the past and they were good. I should have believed the recent reviews before I scheduled them this time.Do yourself a big favor and dont waste your time with them.When I first called, they came and looked at the job fairly promptly. But the person who estimated left soon after that. When I called for a date, Matt said he would be doing the schedule. He wasnt able to do the job for a few weeks but set a date.The first date, I waited ane no one showed up. I called and I was told they had planned to call but didnt. They rescheduled for the following morning. I waited and agian, they did not show up. I called and Matt said he was sorry and they could come on the next day first thing around 7:30. I got a phone call at 7:30 that he didnt have my address. They said they would there in 15 minutes...an hour later they showed up. The workers were nice but they had no work orders and did not know which trees to do. They worked for about a half hour on a few low branches and then said they would have to come back the next day to do the higher brances. After a week of waiting for them to come back, I received a bill from them for the work that wasnt done!I called and again was told they would there the next day. Surprise! No show. I called and when told they would be back, I cancelled.There are other companies that do the same type of work..Do not waste your time with this company.

I called them over a Month ago and a Guy came down and said it would be $80.00 for this one Tree a Hemlock. No one showed so I called the office and they said someone would call my. Its been three more days no calls from them so I got someone else to Spray the Tree and Cancelled them just now and wont ever use this Company again if thats how they do Business.

I asked for them to remove a 60 tree that was in a extremely precarious spot; North Eastern Tree Svc. did a superb job.

Unfortunately the Supervisor nor the employees accept responsibility or accountability for their actions. Sneaky

Let me be clear I never actually used their services. However, when I did have them come and quote me for tree cutting costs, The person who showed up was only with me for a total of 10-15 and he answered his phone four times while I was trying to speak with him. He didnt seem like he cared at all about the job or about my time. Needless to say I did not use their services.

Great service, Best price, Wonderful crew .....you will never find better than north eastern tree services.

My neighbor used them to trim his tree and they trampled my garden beds.

The estimator was prompt and prefessional but the trucks never showed up. I called 3 times with no return calls??

This guy drives around in 32 degree weather with his dog freezing in the bed of his truck

The most unprofessional company I’ve ever worked with. I took a half day out or work to be home for an estimate. They NEVER showed even after talking to the company multiple times that day. Matt called me back and said we would be by 5:30pm “sharp” the following Tuesday. He NEVER showed. I called. He didn’t answer. Mailbox full. The absolute worst company. So rude. So unprofessional. So disrespectful. If I could give ZERO stars I would. Don’t waste your time with this so called company.

Had great experience with these guys.

They destroyed my side and rear yards, along with my fence. Have been calling them everyday to speak with the owner but they tell me he is out of state everyday. They won;t give me their insurance info either. They did a complete hack job removing a tree and pruning another one.
