Matthew was extremely helpful designing a replacement engagement ring for me. I have rheumatoid arthritis with joint swelling and Matthew designed a ring with a hinged band so I can get my ring on and off now. The ring is absolutely beautiful!! So glad I found this place, after searching across 3 major metropolitan areas (Pittsburgh, Columbus, and Cincinnati) for someone to repair a piece of custom jewelry for me I happened upon this place.Josh was very clear and concise when telling me what he could potentially do, unlike many of the jewlers I called before him. Even though he was unable to fix my piece (only because it was a custom made piece and the parts I need to fix it are incredibly hard to source) he was able to point me in the right direction.He was able to modify the piece to make it work for now, and so that when I get the parts to repair it, it will fit better on my chain.I had an idea in my head of what this work was worth, Ive had a few pieces of custom jewelry made in the last couple of years (in Las Vegas) so I have past experience to base this estimate on. I visited to have a ring appraised. The cost for the appraisal was very competitive with what I had read to expect. The appraisal was very detailed and contained information I would not have expected.Beyond the technical side the owners were very friendly and helpful. They took ample time to answer questions and discuss gemstones and their unique properties and details. I would be very comfortable in purchasing jewelry as they take the time to make sure you are satisfied and have the knowledge you need to make your best decision.

Had 4 rings appraised, took a few weeks, but I was told it takes time. Appraisals were explained and it easy to understand. Rings were cleaned and look absolutely beautiful. So easy to do business with.

The repair work I had done at Schulz & Sons Jewelers is excellent. I always say that cheap is never good and good is never cheap, but this jeweler is a little on the pricey side. I have had this same work done on this same piece several years ago at a jeweler in Cincinnati for far less than what I spent this time. Overall I am happy with the repair and the convenience of this jeweler being in Ft. Mitchell.

Bought a necklace with a very thin chain for my daughter about three years ago. She broke it almost immediately and they replaced. Fast forward three years and she broke it again. This was a very old clock so it may have taken awhile for parts.It works like new,Matt is very knowledgeable about all these clocks,he did a great job. I live in Pittsburgh and I had taken my mother and sisters diamonds to a jeweler up there. I wasnt real happy with the price or quality of the work.I drove to Kentucky to visit family over Thanksgiving. Dont worry I will quarantine for 2 weeks.My other sister suggested at we go to Schultz and Son. Boy Im glad I did! Mr. Matt only took half the time but the design was beautiful. Its almost like he had an eye for this!Hes showed me two designs the one in Pittsburgh showed me only one. Needless to say I consider Mr Matt my full-time Jeweler even if I have to drive 300 miles to get to him. He beat the company in Pittsburgh on price and more importantly, quality.

I had a couple of side stones replaced in my engagement ring and they did an amazing job. The stones are replaced and my ring looks just as shined as when we first got it. When I went to pick it up the price ended up being more than what was originally quoted. When I mentioned that they very quickly took care of it and kept their word for their quote which was amazing! I haven’t even been gone an hour from picking my ring up and have recommended them to 3 people!

Went in, spoke to Josh. Service was excellent-price however was crazy.Josh took my word at my ring being a 3 and never sized it himself. I found later upon going to another jeweler that my ring is actually a 6 and the width of the band hindered my original thought on size. I have sizes here and based on that but didnt have a sizing wand.I think there was some sort of miscommunication. I went in just wanting a resize or a resetting, whichever was doable. Because he didnt size the ring himself, he quoted me over 3000 for a resize and 2000 for a resetting. My ring has 9 diamonds and I knew it would be expensive however for that price it felt like too much.We did talk about new settings and he drew up a quick design I liked but wasnt in love with and said if I had other settings I liked I could come back and decide on what to do. Overall the entire experience was painless. He was very cordial and an excellent employee, and had great taste.However Im not going to finance my own ring-and thats what it felt like regardless if what was going in-when I already own it. And I definitely dont see how what I wantted should have cost 2000+. I heard they send their work to another state fir actual resizing and setting so maybe that was factored in. Im not sure.I most likely will not come back but I would recommend them. They had beautiful pieces on display and Josh was a very professional jeweler.In the end I went to Motchs on Madison Avenue and they sized it a 6 and quoted me 88.00(!!!) for a resizing and lowering of the middle diamond. Way less than 2000! And instead of my ring being who knows where and taking almost a month, they do it there and itll be done by Tuesday at the earliest. Shocking!

Matt was great. From the selection process to the delivery and flexibility even in the midst of a global pandemic he was very helpful and available every step of the way. Even when he was out of town for business he took the time out of his meetings to talk to me and work with me. They really do have your best interest in mind. I might not ever need another engagement ring, but I will definitely be using them for other special occasions in the future.

I took my ring into have the prongs replaced and to have the ring cleaned. Joe assisted me throughout the whole process and was amazing! When the process was finished I almost couldn’t believe my eyes! It looks like a brand new ring! They did an fantastic job of replacing the prongs, reshaping and cleaning the ring at am extremely reasonable price! I will definitely be back!!

I purchased a bridal set to upgrade the one I bought my wife almost 40 years ago. I purchased a wedding band, an engagement ring (minus a center stone) and the loose diamond for the engagement ring. They are a small business and you get personnel attention but no sales pressure. Even though the selection of stones was small I was very happy with the one they helped me pick out. Because they are limited by the size of their business they seem to make up for it by having quality inventory. I also had them replace one of the side diamonds on each side of the engagement ring with a ruby to represent my wives birthstone and ruby is the stone for 40th anniversary. It is very subtle and you would not notice it if is was not point out by my wife knows. They were able to size the ring, set the diamond and add the rubies in 2-3 weeks. I had it a full week before Christmas. I am happy with my experience. I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 only because I think there would have to be something extraordinary to deserve 5 stars. This is part of my rating standard. I know a lot of people would probably have giving 5 stars based on my experience with them. I view 3 stars as average, 4 stars as very good, and 5 stars as very difficult to achieve. Service was very good so to get 5 stars it would have had to been at an unbelievable price. I did think the price was fair based on shopping other locations.

The rings turned out wonderful and they even let me set up a payment plan so that I could pay it off out of my own money Versus taking from our joint account. I went to Schulz & Sons after asking for recommendations on FB. I needed to have the setting repaired on a ring my grandmother left me. I had used them in the years ago when I used to wear good watches and needed batteries and repairs and remembered dealing with Matts father. After looking over the damaged ring setting and giving me an estimate, Matt suggested I look into designing a new setting for the stone. I told him I didnt have a clue how to begin. He had me sit down and we discussed my needs such as durability and I started trying on rings and looking at prices. I left the store with pictures on my phone of two rings I really liked and a business card. Next I did two things I rarely do, I didnt go to another jeweler and didnt go online shopping. I was really confident that I wanted to one of those settings and I wanted to buy from Matt because he was al local, small business and had provided excellent guidance. About a week later, I made an appointment with Matt and decided which setting I wanted. Pricing was upfront and didnt feel pressured. It was ready within two weeks. I am thrilled with the results.
