I don’t really do reviews however with what has happened recently it’s only fair.Purchased a UFC gym membership and everything was fine, until I went to cancel. Nancy/John emailed over the cancellation form, I completed it, emailed it back over to John zabotta and John never forwarded over to Nancy. I realized my credit card was charged for over 6 months of use @ $59.Now here our other issues, I called multiple times telling them I cancelled and emailed over the cancellation form, they gaslight me saying, “they never got it”.Okay cool, I’ll walk in and do it right? Walk over to John and he pulls up an email I sent him 6 months ago about cancelling and he never sent it over to Nancy - operations manager? Not sure if that’s her title since she doesn’t know much but she’s nice so there’s that. Just like everyone else is saying, they will actually take your money even when you cancel.I’m not surprised if a lawsuit comes, especially since they are doing this to a lot of people in a pandemic and it’s the whole “you have to go through corporate” - corporate doesn’t actually have anyone who answers the phone FYI.

Gym is great and the facility is nice. I was very happy with my experience there overall. I had some trouble with billing after my cancellation but Chris (The manager) was very helpful getting this resolved. UFC is a solid gym, and I would recommend.

I enjoyed the information they provide. Very friendly! Freddy helped my son and I on getting to know the gym and how it can benefit us to be part of the members! My son has been going and it has been amazing for his confidence, I definitely recommend this place!

This used to be a great place to workout, then the owner sold it and the new owner couldnt find a grain of the sand on the beach if it was sitting in his lap. The trainers all seem great, no complaints there. Not nearly enough weight lifting equipment. The clowns who workout here will take up 2 machines at a time, or sit on a piece of equipment and chat with their yolked buddy for 15 minutes at a time, so you can never workout on the gear you want. The front office is a disaster. Called to cancel my membership two months ago. Told me I had to come in, told them I moved out of state. Sent me a contact to e-mail. Took me 10 tries to get a response. She finally responded and said I have to cancel within 30 days or I will be charged. I said if you charge me another month after you took 3 weeks to respond Im going to be angry. I asked her to please cancel my account, she never did and was just charged another month a solid 45 days after I requested to have my membership cancelled (because the place has gone downhill). Anyway, her name was Nancy, and she is as worthless as the owner. Youre better off getting a membership at the YMCA. Same price, but much better environment and the front office is coherent. Plus, you know. Its UFC. The gym is already douchey enough on its own.

Only used the gym for kick boxing lessons which was great, but when I tried canceling my membership since I never used the gym it became a hassle. I paid for months I didn’t even used the gym along with a maintenance fee. Super unprofessional when trying to cancel my membership. The fact that I was dealing with a sick husband and didn’t used the gym all I ask was that they wave the last month fee since I have not used the Gym one time. I paid everything else and never used it. Super cold and I regret ever signing up to this gym. Taking advantage of someone dealing with a sick husband is cold and heartless even after they paid for time they didn’t use.Do better.

After being karen-y about it, Ive got my money back. Now Im waiting for the investigation results (why this happened, how this happened, and what preventive measures are going to be implemented).Update 08/12/2021Received verbal confirmation that my request would be honored. Will change rating once I can confirm my account isnt subject to subsequent charges.+1 star for expeditiously addressing thisThis review is only about cancelations.I have been coming to this gym for about 2 years. One of the most striking things about this location in particular is the level of athleticism that a majority of the members have. The coaches are pretty dope as well.I have never had an issue until today when I tried to cancel my pt sessions. I was told that I wouldnt be able to cancel until i decided on a replacement option. What? Why the pressure? Why is my request an inadequate justification? It was very uncomfortable. Please consider revising this policy of pressuring members to provide justification of cancelling and requiring us to renew.If this is rectified, this review will be updated accordingly.

Awesome open indoors and outdoors gym.

Great gym. There are alot of people here who take fitness seriously. They go 5 days a week no problem. The trainers are in great shape and run some fun classes if thats what you like. Its the only gyn I can go to late at night and not have many people there. The front desk will always say hi and remember your name. When you go to competitor gyms they are over crowded and people hog equipment. Come on in and enjoy a serious but fun atmosphere to change your physical appearance. 10 stars for ufc costa mesa 👍

I already see a big difference in my body. pushes me every training session to be better than the week before. Every time I think I cant do it I wind up doing that extra lunge or that plank an extra seconds. He is very patient and he gives me constant motivation on a weekly basis. I highly recommend versa fit for beginners or anyone looking for a good workout by a great trainer!

Fantastic gym community. They have a semi-outdoor work out space which came in handy during the covid restrictions. The diversity of their equipment and classes keep me coming back. Oh, and their coaches are best in class!

Wish they provide towel service. Also, spacing of some equipment can improve. Staff did an amazing job cleaning and there provides items near the front to buy. Lockers are kept in great shape.

After nearly two years Ive had nothing but great experiences at UFC Costa Mesa, before and after Covid. Group classes motivate me to get into shape both boxing and boot camp type classes. Friendly staff and new workout machines and equipment throughout the facility. The trainers come and go but there isnt one that I dont like. Highest recommendation!!

Really grateful for the lengths this gym has gone to accommodate us members during these Covid shut downs. Ill be a member for life.

Good luck when you cancel membership. Those dogs keep charging me and I had to call my bank to replace my card. You know what they did? They sold my account to collection agency.

DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM. First off, the coaches are 100% there for a paycheck they dont care about you at all which is why I originally wanted to leave. I get a call from the gym saying my payment didnt go through so I tell them I do not plan on returning and if I can just cancel my membership over the phone. They say yes get my name down and they tell me im good. 9 months later I get a call from a debt collector saying because I didnt show up in person to cancel I owe them 900 dollars even though the employee told me everything I was fine. Such a scam go to real gym instead.

It’s been a year since I’ve joined this gym, the exercising classes have taught me so much. Their boxing conditioning classes have challenged me to push myself mentally. It’s always a great experience learning different exercising techniques. Highly Recommend to come in and try a class, give yourself an opportunity 👍🏽

The staff is friendly and welcoming. The Coaches and Classes are my favorite part. I love the Bootcamp and cardio kickboxing classes there. Owners and managers are always there and handle any situation.

As someone who has been going to gyms for fifty pus years, I must say UFC Costa Mesa has it all. From the managers Raffy and Mike who make sure all your needs are met and keep the place on top of its game . To Jake and Coach Brady who oversee some of the best trainers and martial arts instructors on the planet. As someone who enjoys martial arts, yoga, cardio equipment and some resistance exercise, UFC has it all! In addition the UFC CM stays current with all the latest classes and relevant seminars. Whether anti bullying self defense for kids or ladies self defense for the street. The UFC can help you no matter what your age or fitness level! Five star folks in a first class training facility. My kinda place!

Ive worked out at hundreds of gyms in California, Kansas, Nevada, Illinois... etc... This is hands down the best facility (per member) Ive been to. The Membership Manager (or seemed like one) Was kind, patient, attentive, and very chill. NOT a sales pitch or a forced to join situation. This place has tons of things for all body types and goal types. Fighting equipment, lifting, cardio, etc... Im on a 7 day pass and i am DEFINITELY going back tonight. If youre thinking about a gym near this area, this is the one. Especially for kids to learn self defense, or to lose baby weight. The coaches seemed locked in and focused. I lifted and practiced ground n pound and i was gassed. Dont be afraid to come here if youre new theyll help you. Very good experience, and NOT packed !! (5pm) !!

I just had my first session with Rick and he was more than amazing. He pushed me just beyond the point that I could handle. He is really good at reading people and digging to find out exactly what they need. The location has a great atmosphere and really good equipment. I cant wait until this location has its grand opening and everyone can experience how great it is!

Feel like I got a really good workout in but didnt learn any technique of boxing. Its great if you want a killer workout and to burn calories but not the best place to go if you want to learn boxing technique and skill. The classes are too big and too fast paced for that.

This place is garbage. Had an account at old location on 17th. They closed the gym, stopped billing my account for 7mos. I figured I was as good as divorced from them, but no. Upon reopening on Harbor Blvd, they start charging my bank account again without notice. I call up to cancel and ask for a refund. Of course, their protocol doesnt allow that. Not because its impossible, not because it cost them anything, simply because theyre too GD greedy to push a button and give me my hard earned money back. Thats fine. Keep my $50. Ill be sure to persuade at least 100x not to ever set foot in your gym. Good riddance. By the way, you read that right. I was paying $50 for monthly membership. So when they try and tell you its 75-150/mo minimum, youre not paying for a gym membership, youre paying some gym managers car note. Good luck.

Its not a bad gym its their cancellation policy. First of all they want you to give them a one month cancellation period I tried to cancel a month before over the phone and they wouldnt do it. Then I went into the gym and couldnt cancel because the manager wasnt there. They sent me an email saying I owed them money and I told them I wanted to cancel and they said I have to pay the balance first. So now they have been billing me for the last 3 months and I havent been going there. Glad I have the emails to prove I cancelled...

They’re charging me EXTRA for canceling when I haven’t used the gym and my account has been frozen don’t go here read all the reviews about canceling first the managers here don’t care

The DUT classes with Skyler, Jeff, and Silken are awesome. Great trainers. Tylers stretching class is very much needed and has helped my mobility. My favorite class is the MATRX with Jonathan. His class is intense, but at the same time enjoyable. Personal training with Kelsey is a blast and the butt kicker I needed. She is very inspiring and motivating. Also if you need nutritional guidance hit her up because she is so knowledgeable its mind blowing! Cathy the massage guru is freaking AMAZING. She understands every muscle in our body, its ridiculous (in a good way). Shout out to Martha for recommending UFC Costa Mesa for the best fitness with the best trainers! This place is truly a bonding community.

Very impressed with this facility!Gym is clean and machines are excellent quality.Lots of space, including MMA cage and a very large open aired area for plyometrics. Absolutely recommend.

UFC Gym Costa Mesa, although small, treats me like a family. Unlike the unfamiliarity of a more larger commercial gym, the members here are a very tight knit group of individuals. No matter which class I attend whether it be a DUT, kickboxing cardio or BJJ, every coach treats me like family and thats the aspect that truly motivates me to keep coming back to this gym. No egos or attitudes, friendly and helpful gym staff, UFC GYM Costa Mesa is a fantastic place that I call home.

I was skeptical about joining a gym affiliated with UFC as I didnt know if it was for me but wow was I ever wrong! The facilities are way beyond what I could have expected, the trainers have been incredible (especially for someone like me who has no idea what hes doing) and the variety of classes available are more than I could possibly ask for with a gym membership. Ive been training with DJ Dansereau and hes exactly what I needed. He has set realistic goals with me and been honest about what it takes to get there. I thought I would dread training days but now Im counting down the minutes to my next session.I highly recommend this gym and its staff.

Fun classes, friendly staff, AMAZING child care, but the class schedules on the app are not always accurate so I would recommend double checking so you don’t waste your time, show up expecting a class and being turned away! The facility is clean and the AC is great.

At other gyms, I would get bored easily. Here at UFC gym Costa Mesa, theres a huge variety of classes in addition to equipment. My son and I love training together here!

Staff is friendly, and variety of different types of classes. The classes for an inexperienced person that doesnt know anybody can be intimidating to try it and get started, but the coaches and students are all very welcoming and make it fun.

The trainers and staff are amazing! The gym has a great community and I love this place!

Just 10 dlls a month is the membership well I think there is one for like 24 dlls and you get access to everything, Brand new gym very clean I recommend if you live close by you are tired of paying 30dlls monthly on your gym membership.

Ive never had a worse experience at any gym ever! I joined the gym and 3 weeks later they closed the gym with no notice. They said I can come to the new gym in Costa Mesa when it is built in about 6-8 months. I said no thank you I will join another gym. They opened the new gym and have not stopped harassment and are threatening legal action to enforce the monthly membership even though there was no gym to go to for 6-8 months and they closed the gym after 3 weeks from signing me up as a new member. They have had attorneys, collectors, sales people continue to harass me non stop! Its unbelievable. I am going to take this to the CA state Dept of Consumer Affairs and file a formal complaint under the Fair Debt Collections Act. They screwed with the wrong guy.

Dont trust their membership , its easy to sign your membership but hard to cancel it .Every time i go there to cancel they tell me manager is not there . but the scam is theres a different manager for new members but when you want to cancel they refer to a different manager that hes would never be there.they kept charging my card for 5 months and i went several times to cancel because i had a busy scheduled and always tell me ohh no manager not therebig Scam , never let them to swipe your credit card , i advise if you liek to go to ufc gym take a visa gift card and pay threw it

They tried to force me to pay 60$ monthly to transfer my membership when my existing plan is only 25 a month even though I told them i dont want to take the classes.

I had to lower the rating a bit because the cancellation is ridiculous.
