I have to say this was one of the best experiences I’ve had as a new customer. Everyone involved in the process was extremely helpful and honest. I felt well taken care of and they were great at keeping me informed. Their driver who drove me home and back to the shop, who I unfortunately forgot the name of, was great to talk to, had a great attitude, and made a positive impact on my day. As did Matthew and Matt who worked in the front. Like I said, the whole process was great! I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone who’s looking for a good mechanic shop.

I moved to California with my 2003 Chevy Silverado. I learned about the need to get a Smog test here and went 2 different places because they were close to where I lived and go quoted all kinds of things that needed done on my truck before it would pass the smog test. I just had to wait because the prices were too high. So, then I did my research and read reviews and went to ExperTec Automotive in Costa Mesa. It was worth the drive to take my truck there!!!! They are professional, fast and I could tell that they were not ripping me off. I got the things that needed fixed done on my truck to pass the smog test for a fraction of what other places quoted me. So thankful to have found these guys and this place! Shout out to Chris particularly for being so great to communicate with and for explaining things in a way that I understood! Even the lobby was super clean, comfy, free coffee and water and super relaxed.

Hands down best auto shop. Took my car in for a timing belt and water pump with some other stuff too. Matthew Montoya from the front office was awesome in keeping me updated with the progress after I dropped it off, answered all of my endless questions, and was very competitive with labor costs. They finished my car so much faster than I expected. Their mechanic Sal went above and beyond with my baby, and took the time to really dial in my alignment. Matthew went over all the numbers with me and explained everything so I could understand. Manny is the best Serice Advisor ever he listens to me about concerns and noises I’m hearing with my car and they figure out what’s wrong and fix all. The shop, Mechanics, and Supervisors, are clean. I would say to expect the same prices and times for repairs.The difference is the quality. The aforementioned are easy to deal with and you’ll get all the information you need and ask for.The location can’t be beat given they’re at the entrance of the 55.

I have never been here before. I searched and searched for a place to take my car. I used to go to another shop but they changed management and when I went there they were rude and clueless. I had been going there for 5 years. So I found ExperTec. What a nice place. And I left my car and it was fixed for less than what I used to pay. The guys like their job and what they do. This makes a difference because you know they care.

I was having car problems and decided to take my car here based on the good reviews. All of the staff was extremely kind and professional. I just moved down from Alaska for school and it was important for me to find a trustworthy business. The crew ran a diagnostic test on my car and were very thorough. When a problem couldnt be found they didnt even charge me for the test. If I continue to have problems I will most definitely be coming back.

Excellent Automotive repair shop. Had to have the catalytic converters they were very professional and very reasonable priced. Finished the repair in less than a day. Very friendly and explained everything that needed to be done. Highly recommend for car service.

The most recent visit to ExperTec met the same very positive experience that I had previously experienced. Amazingly, Gary (the manager on duty) welcomed me by my first name as soon as I opened the door to walk in. He must have quickly put in my license plate number as I pulled into my parking space and up popped my name. To make that effort to personalize my visit was very impressive. They analyzed my issue with the car and gave me a call and quote within two hours and had the car fixed the next day (I dropped the car off at about 4:00 pm, so a next day fix was completely expected). Overall, the professionalism and mechanical expertise could not be better. I will definitely be using ExperTec for any future car issues.

Came in because I received a coupon in the mail for an oil change and smog check. Lucky for me I needed both! I made an appointment (per the recommendation of another review) I showed up a bit early, and they took my car in pretty quickly. The fellow at the front was courteous, the waiting room was comfortable and the service was done in under 90 minutes. I was told that my brakes were toast, but was not pressured into fixing them immediately, which I appreciated. I’ll be coming back to get that fixed and think I have found my new mechanic spot!

Chris and the team took great care of us...hooked us up with the best deal on our oil change, including the current free wiper blade promo, and waived the diagnostic fee on our check engine light when it was discovered the issue was covered under our warranty, even though that meant repairs would now be done at the dealer. They were professional, friendly, and took great care of us. We usually go to another shop up the street, but there is no comparison with the service...we will be back for sure!

Went in for an oil change today on my break from work, process was fast and easy! (Even on Friday@ 4pm). I appreciated the honest + realistic analysis of the Multi-Point inspection. Lastly I was very pleased to not experience any pressure to buy unnecessary services, unlike the competing oil change places that usually overwhelm people. Will definitely come back in the future!!

This was my first visit to the new Costa Mesa location and the experience was just as positive as my experiences with the Huntington Beach location. They are friendly, professional and go out of the way to give great service that is always affordable. The lounge is spacious and clean and they even had a courtesy workstation set up with a computer. Awesome experience!

Got my car smog check here recently. I was among the first to arrive on a Thursday morning, and it was done within 10 minutes. Dont recall ever having a smog check done that quickly before.Be aware that their smog technician doesnt work everyday, as I initially arrived on Wednesday morning to do my smog check but was told that was the technicians day off, so I came back Thursday morning. Call ahead the day before to check to make sure that when their smog tech is there (the shop hours are 7:30AM-6PM, but the technician was only there from 8AM-3PM).

I cant say enough about the staff at this establishment. They went beyond the call to assist with my dilemma with my car. They restored our belief that there are still reputable businesses in costa mesa. We will be returning for sure!

This place is great! It has a well stocked lounge full of snacks and beverages while you wait. The lounge itself has a workstation that makes it convenient to get work done while you wait.I have been here twice and have not had to wait long to get an oil change done. Ive taken my 2005 Mazda into them twice now ever since my mechanic went out of business and I couldnt be more pleased! The owner of our company actually recommended them to me and they go above and beyond. Gary was constantly in contact with me regarding what needed to be done and came up with solutions for my limited budget and they took care of everything. After fixing my car the second time I took it in there was a very small sound that I couldnt figure out what it was so I immediately called Mitch and he and another worker insisted on driving down to where I work, since I was unable to leave work at the moment, to take a look at my car and it was immediately fixed on the spot, ABOVE AND BEYOND CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Ill never take my car to another place and will recommend Expertec to all my friends, family and co-workers, I couldnt be more impressed!! Worst place to take your car, I will bet you get told you need struts, and an alignment.

Brought my MINI to ExperTec Costa Mesa for an alignment after finding them online. David was extremely helpful, offering advice and suggestions over the phone before I even came in.I just put new tires on after the old set was balding really badly in the corners on a low mile car (under 20k). Turns out a combination of alignment issues was probably contributing, and ExperTec was able to correct it. They even started out offering to check the alignment free before making any corrections.Service was fast and very fairly priced with no up-selling, they just helped me understand what was needed. They also have a nice waiting area and amenities. Will definitely come here again and recommend to friends as they are trustworthy and down to earth.

Needed some tires on my subaru and a friend mentioned this shop opened close to my office. Service was great. They let me know about a minor leak but put no pressure on me to fix it. Said theyd be happy to give an estimate if I wanted one. Ended up going back to take care of it a few weeks later and they did it quickly. Very happy to have a good mechanic by my office.

For nine years I was taking my car to the dealer. Every oil change have ended up with couple of hundreds more since they found some must do maintenance treatments. That become very expensive and annoying. It was hard for me to look for a new shop, believing the best treatment for my car is at the dealer, so I kept going, paying those ridiculous prices. Two years ago, a good friend recommended me to try ExperTec. I must say - they are wonderful! Their customer service is friendly and very informative, their prices are extremely reasonable and their recommendation are only the one that are really needed. The environment is very warm and most important trustful! Now I know that Im in good hands.

I have been using ExperTec for my land rover auto repairs for over 10 years. Recently-I had an engine light warning that prevented a smog check and I thought I would save a few miles drive and use my local place. Big mistake. After two passes and two giant bills the problem was still not solved. I came to ExperTec and they were able to fix the problem in one day and they even went so far as to put gas in the car and drive it around so the engine light warning would be clear and they could smog it. I have never known an auto mechanic service that can match this company for skill and commitment to their customers.

My Honda Civic broke down on the fry. called AAA the driver said he know this shop and that they do good work.as soon as a got there i knew he is right.David welcomed me and listen to me right a way.he offer me a loaner but i took there shuttle home.no less then 1 hour i got a phone call from them with the news.I didnt expect so much to be wrong with my car but after David enplane everything i end up doing it.($900). my car never run so good but i still wanted to make sure so i called the dealer came to find out Expertec was $358 less then the Honda dealer on the exact same repairs...I will be back and so will my friends...thank you Expertec
