The experience our daughter has received attending Lifeworks coaching sessions has more than justified the cost. The reviews after each session are thoughtful, show a wealth of experience and compassion and map a direction for the future. Jai and his team at LifeWorks are more than tutors, they are positive role models and mentors that relate to, and genuinely care about, the teens with whom they work. They appreciate that high school students have dynamic social and emotional lives that can compete with the demands of understanding course content and achieving academic expectations.Our two children, currently a senior and a sophomore at Redwood, have participated in both one-on-one tutoring and weekly after-school group sessions at LifeWorks. Both structures have been exceptionally helpful for our boys. A few examples of how our children have utilized and benefited from their experience at LifeWorks: preparing for upcoming tests; making the most of homework time to understand and fill in gaps; getting organized to complete assignments and stay on top of the work load; and generally feeling more prepared and confident as students. LifeWorks has played an integral role in their positive high school experience.In addition to tutoring our children with academics, Jai coached my husband and I as we worked on creating a more positive and effective approach to supporting our son’s education - helping him maintain confidence as a student and increase involvement in his academic success. Jai brought his years of experience working with teens and their families to the table, including sharing successes & mistakes from the past. That in itself was invaluable! What helped make Jai’s counseling so successful was his unique approach to each situation, his obvious care and appreciation for our child, and his ability to bridge our teen’s need for autonomy with our desire for our son to receive a well-rounded education.

Safe quiet space for my son to do his home work with lots of positive encouragement from Jai. He focuses better at Lifeworks than at home and has access to someone he trusts to help him when needed. Jai is also encouraging him to start practicing SAT problems, in anticipation of the test next year. If I asked him to do this he would have balked, but Jai has a way of making him realize how easy it is to work slowly towards the test instead of cramming for it in junior year.
