My wife and I had an amazing time with Rachel and Halle! We went out for a two hour trail ride on Apollo and Boo and the four of us had a lovely ride. Did some trailblazing which was dope, and got to experience Carson National Forest which we will remember for a lifetime. We will definitely do a wilderness ride with them in our future!

If youre wanting a real horse experience, one that involves lessons in understanding horses, nature of riding, and the relational aspect, as well as off-the-beaten path riding, this is for you. Rachel was very sweet in helping us coordinate with her father, Chance for our ride in El Rito. Chance was generous in passing along wisdom and training. He is gentle and firm with instruction, inspiring a grounded confidence in riding. His horses are obviously very well cared for and accepted us new riders with ease. Would return.

Such a great first-time experience! Ive never gone Horseback Riding before, so under the recommendation of Rachel, I chose the 2 hour-long ride.Chance and Rachel were very friendly and accommodating. I was new, so Chance patiently explained how to ride a horse and walked me through everything. 10-15 min later, we were off! I rode Ranger.Chance led me through different riding scenarios (going up and down hill, various speeds and positions, etc.) so by the end, you feel comfortable and confident in your riding ability. I still have more to learn and get better at, so if Im back in Albuquerque, I will definitely come back here for more!Great value, great experience, and a lot of fun.

My children had an absolute amazing experience with Red Horse Riding Company! Rachel was the most kind, patient and knowledgeable person in helping my boys learn to ride her amazing horses. It was simply amazing!

For my 30th bday all I wanted to do was be on the back of a horse somewhere serene experiencing the great outdoors. My friend and I traveled 2 hours from Albq to El Rito and rode a half day with Chance in the Carson National Forest and it was beautiful! When we first showed up he had us properly meet the horses and brush up on our knowledge while also making sure we were comfortable before heading out on the trails. I fell in love with my horse Alamo, he was the sweetest! We were able to go to a waterfall and let the horses drink and take a small break before heading back, running the horses up the mountain taking the scenic route and wading thru a couple streams. Chance checked on us multiple times throughout the ride to make sure we were feeling good and also telling us what was coming up on the trail and how to maneuver safely. He made the entire time riding enjoyable and fun. This was the best experience I’ve ever had and I would do it a million times more. If you enjoy riding horses or even if you’ve never been and it’s something your considering I’d highly recommend Red Horse Riding Company!

We had the best afternoon up in El Rito with Chance! He graciously accepted our tardiness in stride and then proceeded to give us beginners a great lesson in “horse sense”. Great, well tended horses, beautiful views and a great guide! We’re bringing the daughters up next time. :)

We had a wonderful time with our daughter, on her birthday here at Red Horse. This is a great outfit for everything from small kiddie rides to a spectacular wilderness adventure in Northern New Mexico. Rachel is a pleasant guide and was very safe with our kiddo too. This place is AMAZING!!! Great private peaceful location.I Brought my horse-obsessed granddaughter here for a riding experience(Courtesy of Auntie and Uncle!)before she heads home after the summer.The proprietor Rachel and her father Chance were wonderful! Very knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming! Rachel made sure that my granddaughter knew the basics to practice safe horsemanship and ride appropriately! Several aspects of caring for the horse, saddling, how to properly sit on a horse to ride, and communicating with the horse were gently taught.Rachel then took her on a bit of a trail ride so she could experience the feel of actually riding a horse somewhere. It was a truly amazing experience for my granddaughter! One, I’m sure, she will always remember! Thank you!I highly recommend this place!I would give this place 10 stars if that were and option!

My experience was top-notch! Both Rachel and Chance are experts at what they do. They teach in a manner that empowers you to take gradual steps and assume more responsibility each time you ride. After five lessons (I highly recommend that you buy a package) I feel confident on a horse and know my way around the equipment. I also checked galloping on a horse off my bucket list!

As a beginner, Rachel and my new friend Whiskey were incredible. Rachel was patient, knowledgeable, and made sure this was an unforgettable experience. Ill be coming back next time Im in town

These folks are super nice and make the ride extremely enjoyable. They guided us on a nice, long ride along the river. The horses themselves were very friendly animals, especially the one carrying our daughter. Everyone involved was excellent with our young kid, and I really couldnt have asked for anything better. Definitely check these people out.

We loved the horse back riding experience. They were very knowledgeable and nice when teaching us how to ride. It was a beautiful trail ride.We even got to gallop. It was an over all wonderful experience. I would definitely recommend going with them. We are not going any where else for riding.

I cant begin to express how amazing the folks at Red Horse Riding Co are. I am 35 and had never been on a horse. But after 5 lessons with Chance I feel confident and capable. Most importantly though, they teach you about the love of horses, the relationship with a horse and how to show respect and get respect from a horse. Its life changing. I love this place. And I love my horse Boo ;)

Great Experience! A friend booked us a ride with these fine folks. We enjoyed the friendliness and conversation with the owners Chance & Rachel . They were very thorough and educational. Nothing short of amazing. We did two rides, an introductory one with Rachel in Corrales for about 2 hours. We were three beginners and she did a great job of introducing us to horses and riding fundamentals. Next day was with Chance and Matt, two serious cowboys for a real adventure up north of Santa Fe in the mountains, turned out about 5 hours. Truly beautiful and a very memorable experience. We learned a ton about riding and horses. This is the real experience, couldnt recommend it more.

I was stumped for gifts for my son and his family for Christmas, so I got them a horse ride from Red Horse Riding. They wanted to wait until the weather was nice, so they took their ride last Sun. The report is that they all had a great time. When I asked my granddaughter (7 yrs old) if their guide was nice, she said oh, yes and then followed it up with, she was VERY nice. Nothing like an honest review from a seven year old!

Great experience!!! My wife and i went and hadnt ridden in over fifteen years. Chance @ RHRC was awesome!! Very knowledgeable and the horses were perfect and very well taken care of. Out horses were Whiskey and Trig. Would recommend to anyone!

We had a great experience at RHRC, I would highly recommend them for anyone who wants to try riding. My wife had done a couple of rides before but I had never been on a horse. RHRC was understanding, provided all the needed guidance and instructionand the horses we rode had the best temperament.It was amazing. Thank you Chance.

What a great experience! I came here with my wife to ride while we were in town visiting relatives. The operation is run by a father and daughter and everyone was very friendly. We are novice riders but they taught us everything that we needed to know and paired us with horses commiserate to our skill levels. We had a beautiful ride through Corrales down into the Bosquue. Just remember to bring cash, they dont take credit cards.

Choose RED HORSE!! Trust me its a good decision! My hubby planned a bed and breakfast getaway with a horse ride. He didnt heed the wisdom in the reviews and scheduled at another place. We found out an hour before our ride (lunch packed and boots on) that they were no longer going to take us out they had scheduled a photo shoot instead. We called around and Red Horse Riding wanted to help us out, so after moving some things around they got us out that day and it was PERFECT!! We learned so much and had a beautiful afternoon, so dont make our mistake just call and schedule here because you will be treated like a person by kind and friendly people!

I had a great experience with RHRC. Rachel was so patient and helpful. I was a little nervous and I honestly rode so slow, but she was reassuring and understanding the whole time. The trail is stunning and the horses are so sweet too. They are very accommodating and friendly at RHRC!
