Pondview is a beautiful setting or venue for small family weddings and very important family celebrations of life. A beautiful place to make memories. First off, thank you to Sandi who was honestly such a great host, we would love to be able to bring our whole family back for a reunion. My journey to Pondview began while driving down a breathtaking gravel driveway that extended up along a budding orchard. The view opened up to a tranquil pond on the left and a gorgeous house on a hill abound with flowers. I literally could not believe that I was to be staying here. We were fortunate to have an extended stay at the property and found the manager to be responsive to every one of our needs. When I walked into the house, it was well-lighted and daylight poured in from the wall of windows (you can always close the grand shades if you want, but you wont want to.). It is 4 stories (Loft, Main/Kitchen/Master Bed, Living room/Patios, and Lower level 2 bedrooms. I was greeted by peace, quiet, and a bottle of local wine with chocolates. The house was very clean, elegantly and modernly decorated. It was like it was prepared for a bride and I could feel the warmth and family-pride they take in the property overall. Theres the pond (where you can find frogs and salamanders all day long) with the covered deck (we spent many nights out there dancing and laughing) and the lower garden where we were able to snap some of the most amazing family photos backdropped to the lush reeds and flowers. Then theres the upper garden/grass area which includes a cozy berm (great for ceremonies or receptions) and is backdropped by yet another orchard of trees. Theres even a kids play structure. The grass and grounds overall are maintained weekly and meticulously. I believe they even have an RV hookup with water. If thats not enough, the eating areas: Porch #1 with BBQ and table and gorgeous views (and choruses in the morning of the birds! So amazing). Porch #2 with two rocking chairs and a heating lamp. We ate many lunches out there, even in the rain just so we could descend later on onto the Porch #3 which is the outside Porch area (covered and has cafe lights) which is complimented by the outdoor tiny goldfish Pond. So if you havent heard enough, I just want to highlight how absolutely wonderful this place was for us. It exemplifies all that Oregon has to offer (nature, serenity, beauty) and more. We would definitely love to come back.

I just could not say enough about this place! It was perfect, reasonably priced, lots to do on the property, theres a lot of space to accommodate... It was just a very bright and pleasant place to stay and I would highly recommend it and hope to go back there very soon and very often! Thank you so so so much Sandy... Youre amazing!

A total gem in a sea of mediocrity

Pondview is as pretty as the pictures! It was a delight to stay there. It is a family friendly home, near enough to Portland and right in wine country. The house is cozy and the entire time I was there I was wondering why I dont just move here.

If you are having a wedding here this property requires a lot of extra work and in the end you are better off hiring someone to help you or going somewhere else. The property is very dark and poorly lite at night so you will need to bring/purchase your own lights to set up. The driveway is very uneven/dark posing a safety and tripping hazard especially for elderly people. We brought the porta-potty down the hill for this reason and they held this against us for part of the security deposit . They also charged us $400 extra for 20 more people on top of the $1500 venue fee charge(this does not include the nightly charge for the house). We were told this added $400 fee covers the extra garbage disposal but then our security deposit was withheld for this same reason:garbage disposal.Please keep in mind our entire party was just shy of 60 people and we were done well before 10pm. The bathroom soap was watered down which I found distasteful. I spent evening of wedding and morning after wedding cleaning the house and doing 3 loads of laundry as well as folding and they still took a portion out of our security deposit. We were out of the house by 1030am. They also charged a $350 cleaning fee from the beginning so in total they charged a nonnegotiable $550 for cleaning fee.Owners said they would be present prior to wedding to explain parking situation but we never saw them once.There was a faded Orange stain in the carpet that was there when we got there that they blamed us for. If you rent here make sure to take pictures to cover yourself otherwise you could be charged for this stain as well. They also blamed us for some broken TV cable and we didnt even use the TV/cable.Also beware of communication. They do not answer or return voicemail messages, email is your best bet.We picked this place because it initially presented as a good deal but in the end with all the hidden extra fees it put us well over our budget and my husband and I feel financially taken advantage of.

Absolutely amazing property! Wandering the old walnut orchard is very relaxing.
