Tommy did a great job on my microwave. He was quick (he had it fixed before I got home) and reasonable on price. I would definitely use his service again and recommend him to others.

People seldom write reviews for companies that do a good job. But they no problem going online to bash someone they are unhappy with. You can serve 99 customers perfectly, but if 1 person gets mad, you will have the one person writing a review, not the 99 satisfied customers. Tommys Appliance Services does fine work and I have hired them twice. The prices were fair and the guy is straight forward and honest about whats wrong with your appliance. There are not many people in town that fix stuff like this and even less people that are as experienced as this guy.

Tommys been keeping our washer, dryer, dishwasher, fridge and Jenn Air stove going for 20 years. These are good appliances that are worth fixing, even if it costs a couple hundred dollars every few years. He does great, always shows, is honest, extremely knowledgable, and does work that lasts-- if the appliance is decent. A piece of modern junk is made to fall apart. Tommy cant make a silk purse out of a sows ear, but weve found its a much better deal to repair than trash.

Old school, no computer but very nice guy. Said he had never worked on this front load dryer before. When he came out and disassembled the dryer, the part he had ordered was the wrong one. So after he left he called GE and the model and all the parts were discontinued. He told me that they didnt make the part any more and wasnt sure what to do. Didnt have a follow up plan.So I went online, researched the model and found the part at a different seller for $50 less than GE and ordered it. It was Thursday Dec 20 and I called to schedule an appt to have it installed but he wasnt able to come back until Dec 28th. I asked if he could come by and at least put the dryer back together (it was functional just made horrible screeching sounds) because we couldnt go 9 days without a dryer for a family of 4. But he couldnt come back before then. The part arrived on the 22nd. The next day I ended up spending an hour putting it back together myself. He had bent the brackets for the top cover when he removed it and I had to hammer them back to normal.Based on his other reviews and his experience of decades with GE Im sure hes capable of dealing with standard older model top load appliances very well. But in my case I didnt find him to be cheaper than other appliance places, and with his unfamiliarity with my model, its doubtful I will use him again in the future.

Tommy is very knowledgable and will do a thorough repair. He was recommended by the folks at the ACE Hardware in Cornelius and by a colleague so we called him rather than attempt (another) DIY fix on our broken refrigerator.Tommy is very old fashioned. He wont work on LG or Samsung appliances (at least refrigerators) but has a wealth of knowledge on other brands and older models. His preference is to always recommend that you fix an issue rather than replace the fridge (as he does not believe new ones are built for planned obsolescence).Tommy did not verify that we wanted to complete the work before he began making the repair. He did not provide a written estimate, but he did quote a price (actual price paid was $9 higher).Tommy does not believe in computers or the Internet. He does not have one, he does not run the business with one, and he only accepts payment in cash or check. He will not invoice in a way that allows you to pay later. Beverly, his wife and business partner who answers the service calls, did not inform us of this. The service call will cost $75. He guarantees his work for 1 year. We paid $80 for an hour of labor. We had to prompt Tommy to place the compartments back in the freezer, and in doing so caught an error in how hed reinstalled hardware. Our issue is resolved, but we would have to think seriously about using this company again.

He came out to repair my friends dryer. Charger over $200.00 and it still didnt work. He came back again and said he put another part in and charged over $100. She put over $300.00 in this dryer and it still doesnt work. He isnt worried about satisfying his customers, all he is worried about is his money! Do not use this guy!!! He will take your money! She is filing a complaint with the BBB and taking him to small claims court!

Tommy looked at my GE microwave oven that kept shorting out. He diagnosed the problem immediately and replaced an electronic door switch that he had in his truck. Problem solved. Because the micro is one unit with the oven, one can only imagine the cost of replacing the entire unit if the micro wasnt worth fixing.
