My husband wanted a fade style haircut and I convinced him to go to Simonsons instead of a lower end salon since I’ve always had a good experience. He came home with easily the worst haircut he’s ever had, wasn’t shown the back of his head with a mirror and my message was left read with no response. Thank god for hats. We will both be looking for a new salon.Edited to add that a few days after this post they reached out and issued a refund.

I had my eyebrows waxed yesterday and it was not done right at all. My eyebrows is crooked. I usually get my eyebrows done at Sarah’s Nails. They charge $10 and get it done way better than you guys. I have a big event this weekend so I decided to try Simonson’s and I regret it. For $25, you could do better.

APALLED. Please read. My names Ashley, I received a hair color service on Wednesday, August 11 2021 at 2:45. I was already having a hard day with a funeral and doctors appointments and I was very excited to come in to get my hair done and relax a little- As I’ve always had a very positive experience with Simonsons. Unfortunately towards the end of my service the stylist told me that we had simply run out of time and that there would be no time to finish my hair so I was left sitting in the back with sopping wet hair by a dryer, as I received an expensive color service I was beyond disappointed that I would be left in such a professional, nice salon in that manner, I could maybe expect this from greatclips, but not Simonsons. Nobody deserves to leave a $200 highlight service with sopping wet hair without a blow dry and style especially without being able to see the color well. I quickly paid and left frustrated and in tears. I think anyone can relate to having a hard day and looking forward to going to a salon and spa to feel better afterwards, not worse. I had to call 10 other salons to find somebody that could finish my hair for me. As a dry and style is included in your color services I don’t feel that the $200 I paid for the service is fair with what I experienced . Again- I’ve always had really pleasant experiences at Simonson’s and I’m honestly pretty laid back, and I was shocked that this happened I left not even angry, just so so sad, that and a huge salon with so many stylists.. I just can’t believe that I wasn’t offered somebody else to at least try to finish my hair for me. I understand things get busy but I should have never been booked in the first place if the stylist couldn’t finish drying or styling my hair. I grew up in a salon around my grandma and auntie who are now retired stylists and I know that they would find this just so extremely unprofessional. I know a lot of people in the hair community and I will never recommend this location ever again I just find this horrible.

I would like to start off by saying the employees here are very nice and treated me very professionally! But, the reason I am leaving a 2 star is because of the actual business. I was for one told I was going to be receiving a email or a text confirming my appointment date and time as a reminder, I didnt receive either but that also carrys on to my next point, after the service, I was rung up by one of the desk ladies and I could tell she was stressed out but doing her absolute best with what she had to work with, I stood there for almost 15 minutes waiting for the computer program to check me out. Also, prior to check out, actually when I checked in. I was offered a drink hense alot of drink options one of which, was not ice or any kinda of cold beverage. I dont understand how you can charge me high prices for quality when I am given nuke warm water. I believe the employees here set off how a salon should be ran but the actual business lets them down with broken or even very slow equipment.

!!FIRST TIME VISIT!! I went in for a white/gray color. I had 3 inches of teal left in my hair (ONLY at the ends) from previous color. All my other hair was new regrowth and had not been touched by any chemical or treatment. I was expecting a 5 or 6 appointment process but the stylist rushed it into only 2 appointments which I felt was weird but I decided trust her. I was expecting the first appointment to be strictly lightening (the gray I wanted is very light.) She only “lightened” my hair once. I remember looking at my hair in my phone camera and noticing my hair was still brown with an orange tint to it, even after the toner. The stylist then proceeded to place a darker gray on top of the brown. She also suggested a shadow root and I agreed, thinking it would add nice dimension. I agreed to a black shadow root. After rinsing and drying, my hair was patchy. It looked like Neapolitan ice cream. It was black, brown with gray patches and purple on the ends. I figured it was part of the process. I went back a week later for the next appointment. She lightened only the middle section of my hair and placed the same gray back on top. She also redid the shadow root. I was very excited to see the final product and even after styling I was majorly disappointed. It was nowhere even near what I wanted. My stylist was very confident in her work and was very confident that the purple, with a gray shampoo, would fade to the white I was looking for. I left with purple hair that had a black root, which had a blue tint to it as well.I’ve been dying my hair for 6 years, always professionally. I take the time and spend the money to make sure my hair remains healthy and at the color/tone I want. After I dye my hair, I tend to wash it once a week for a few months. I try to make sure the color lasts as long as possible. I had also bought a gray shampoo at the end of my appointment to “help fade the purple.” After only TWO washes, my “shadow root” had turned to a very yellow green. The purple had not budged and any gray that was in my hair was washed out instantly. My hair is every color BUT gray and VERY patchy.Being very disappointed in my hair, I returned to my original salon hoping they could help. The stylists there were flustered and confused, which was very concerning. After my consult there, I called Simonsons. They took a bunch of information about my appointment and the situation. They made it sound like I would be given at least a portion of my money back (I AM NOT INTERESTED IN A “REWORK”) They said their manager would call me when she’s in. I received an email the next day from the manager, Miranda Brown. She told me the green was to be expected and it was my wrong doing because I had previous color. She continually repeated herself in saying I needed to come back for more sessions and that the green just needed to be “toned.” I was also told I was not eligible for a refund nor was I even eligible for a “rework.”I returned to the reviews after reading that email to see if anybody else has had my same experience and it turns out quite a few have. Each time a negative review is posted, the manager responds very defensively, constantly making it seem like it’s the customers issue and that they should be happy with what they were given. The amount of money I spent only to be left with destroyed hair is ridiculous and disheartening. The email was shocking and very condescending to say the least. Their lack of respect for their customers concerns is blatantly disgusting.

DO NOT GET YOUR HAIR CUT HERE. Buyer beware!HORRIBLE experience. HAIR IS COMPLETELY UNEVEN. Very unprofessional hair stylists who do NOT know how to cut hair. Incredibly in-experienced staff! Stylists cannot cut a straight line, nor do they recognize what a straight line looks like.Came here for the first time last Saturday for 1.5 hours and Rallie cut and messed up my hair. That was not a good impression. My hair is now DAMAGED, FALLING OFF and you cut my hair in half (more like shreds) when all I wanted was my hair to be in long layers and one length! Just a nice trim... If you lift up my hair, you will see all the flaws, the mis-alignments and now I have crazy static and the hair just keeps falling....Had to re-schedule another appointment for a new stylist to RE-CUT my hair and spent 2 hours here with Hannah. My hair is still UNEVEN and in shreds. I was DIRECTING her the entire time, You missed a spot. Its right here. Can you cut this? This looks un-even. Its still not straight. Had to beg her to have another stylist named Miranda (master stylist) try to correct my hair and even she couldnt see it was NOT straight. Stylists are lazy and dont care about making it right!I asked for my money back at the concierge desk and they have not returned a dime. LIARS! Yes, your receptionist told me, to my face, YOU WILL GET A REFUND.I spoke to the manager named Miranda and its not their policy to refund. What kind of policy is that? She even asked me to text her photos of my hair so that she can see why I dont think it is straight. I am happy to post the photos on the internet. Just give me my money back so I can go elsewhere to fix YOUR mistake!Does it really make sense for me to return THREE times for you to FIX my hair?!!!!! It should have been cut right the FIRST time. I will NEVER return here and would NOT recommend to family or friends. WHY WOULD I WASTE ANOTHER MINUTE WITH YOUR SALON? Are you kidding me!!!Un-professional by all means! My husband booked a spa day for me as a late Mother’s Day gift. I was scheduled at 12pm for a prenatal massage with Nicole, Mani/Pedi with Alicia and a facial with Jorie. All the staff were friendly and pleasant, everything was done on schedule and the overall customer service experience was great. The massage was nice, Nicole was a great listener and applied the perfect amount of pressure. The facial was by far my favorite part of the day; Jorie was attentive, put me at ease and my face felt so hydrated and I left with glowing skin. The only reason for the 3 stars was the mani/pedi experience- although Alicia was very nice and accommodating, I sensed she was not very experienced with nails. I opted to do Gel polish for my manicure and regular polish for my pedicure. My pedicure was first and although she did the steps, she did them quickly- she applied the polish in an uneven way...almost the same way you would do them at home if you were in a rush. My manicure was the same as my pedi- steps were done but done quickly which lead to poor quality...it is only a day later and my gel manicure is already chipped and peeling despite being gentle with my hands, I almost wish I would’ve just done regular polish, the extra $15 for gel polish was not worth it. I have paid far less for luxury pedicures and manicures elsewhere and have received far better quality; leaving the salon they looked fine and I thought if they lasted at least a week I was okay with the mediocre quality, unfortunately they didn’t last 24hrs. I am a first time client and would recommend the massage and facial however if you’re looking for a quality manicure/pedicure matching the price point they charge, this is not the salon for that service. I just tried the Hydra Facial, and it was exceptional. My skin is 100% clear without any inflammation. The esthetician, Shannon, was excellent. They were running a special, $50 off, and at that price, it was a good value. This service will definitely be a part of my regular maintenance routine.

Go to Nail Nook Studio in Long Lake if you want top of the line customer service. I have been using Simonsons ever since I found out that Locks of Love was a thing. I usually just patiently wait for a time when the free charity cuts are available, but my hair was getting outrageous during lockdown, I’m talking it kept tickling my butt and making me think there were spiders on me! So I just booked a regular cut with the option to donate hair to charity with Jaime. She accommodated me and my wheelchair effortlessly! I wasn’t sure what style I wanted or how short I wanted my hair, so I told her to just do her thing. I’ve been getting compliments ever since! Thank you!

I have been to Simonsons a couple of times for manicures. I went this past Saturday with my mom as a treat (Im 9 months pregnant). However, something that I thought would be fun and pampering was actually really disappointing. My mom had WONDERFUL service, but I was rushed through. While Mom was offered a neck wrap and other spa amenities, I was rushed. My polish didnt dry properly and smudged almost immediately, even though I waited 30 minutes or so before I used them for anything. They also chipped within 12 hours (and I was NOT doing anything that would chip them). When I went back the next day to have them repaired, I was told that I could not get a refund. I was able to get them repaired, but they were significantly chipped again by Tuesday. I am unimpressed. I also paid more than my mom did for significantly lower quality service. Im thinking this will be my last time.

I was not happy with Simonson’s today. Made an appointment for 4:30 today and unfortunately the stylist had called in sick, which is totally fine! I called back to reschedule and they told me to come in at 3:30 the same day. When it came to that time I was told that my appointment wasn’t even on the books and they offered no alternative to make things work and acted as if they didn’t even believe I had called to reschedule! The person I spoke to even chuckled when she said “I’m sorry about that” and simply said “well have a good day” and hung up. I drove 30 minutes both ways for an appointment that just “didn’t exist.” Definitely will not be rescheduling with them.

When I questioned the cashier she said it was because the woman who did it had more experience than the base price listed online. I can totally see this for a haircut or color-but am not convinced my feet need a more experienced cosmetologist for a 20% up charge.

After talking with a few friends about a new place to try for my hair, one recommended Simonsons. I called and scheduled an appointment and fell in love with this place. Ive been going there for a few years now and couldnt be happier. My stylist even recommended another stylist for a different service as she felt the other stylist would do a better job. That right there won me over. When I see others supporting each other in the industry instead of competing, Im bound to go back again and again. If youre looking for a great place to get your hair done, stop in at Simonsons.

Had my hair cut for the first time since last summer. It was so long and thick. Also, this was a emotionally difficult appointment to go to, but my stylist, Linda, was wonderful to work with. Linda was very kind and easy to talk to. She knew exactly what I needed done with my hair. I also have recently developed arthritis in my hands making it very difficult to work with my hair. Now my hair is so much easier to take care of. It looks great too. Definitely will go back to Linda.

It was my first visit at Simonsons. Alicia did a bleach wash to get the brownish black color out of my hair, she highlighted, colored and cut my hair as well. She did an amazing job and Im very happy with my overall experience! Im sorry to say, that I was greatly disappointed. My hair cut was good, but when my hair was styled, even when I mentioned that I needed volume and height on the top and she put root lift on my roots, she made my hair flat on top. I was going to purchase the root lift product, but not after that!

I was really unimpressed with Simonsons Salon. I had an appointment for eyelash extensions, and they mixed me up with someone who had a pedicure appointment. My eyelash appointment was cut short about 15 minutes due to their mix up. The lashes only lasted about 4 days. Four. Other places I have had lash extensions they last about two weeks before needing a fill. I have since gone to other salons with better luck for this type of appointment.

I received a gel manicure here that began fully peeling off after 4 days. Even a regular manicure (non-gel) should last longer. When asking for help selecting a color the manicurist told me she was color blind. The service only lasted 45 min, when it was scheduled for 60 minutes. The hand massage portion was barely 3 minutes. I was truly unhappy with this service and do not recommend this salon. Their overall customer experience is not great, especially considering their price point.Update 5/2: I reached out to Miranda as indicated in the comment by Simonson’s below and am booked for another comped gel manicure with a new technician, one of their nail technician trainers. Very nice people working there. Lady that did my friends and my makeup was extremely nice and knew how to make us look great! Even considered our skin types and used products accordingly (my friend had dry skin and I have oily skin) so she applied the right foundation and color, which is good. Some places dont care about the basic stuff all too much. Anyways would recommend!

Paid $59 for a haircut and had to return to have it fixed as there were several long chunks left along the perimeter of my hair. Stylist seemed overwhelmed by my hair and the haircut shows that. Would expect the haircut I got from a quick service salon, not a high end one especially paying$59.(plus tip)

The hair stylest are great they where able to match my hair color from when i was younger and cover all my greys,they even found a style that actually looks great with my shape of face,and i am able to see the same gal everytime so she knows how my hair is and what works well and what doesnt. i highly recommend it.

I agree with the other commenters about it being a little pricey but I do feel you get what you pay for. No matter who you get you can trust they are well experienced and know what theyre doing. Its NOT like walking into some hole-in-the-wall shop and praying you dont leave with some sort of infection or a crappy nail job, with the only perk being you got it for cheap. You get what you pay for. The place is clean, you know they follow laws and rules for sanitation and the staff is always super friendly and accommodating. Ive been seeing Sarah Jo for my hair and nails and even though shes newer to the field she does an amazing job. This company makes sure to train in all of their staff so they can all do a great job. Sarah is very professional and personable and I always feel she does a great job. Shes easy to talk to and if youre unsure of where to go with your looks (nail or hair) she has the skill to show you what she thinks would look best for you. I highly recommend Sarah Jo. Shes worth it.

My sister and I went for a beauty day to get our hair done(Cut/Color/Highlights). I had Jennifer Anderson and my sister had Jen Rettke. They both did an AMAZING job! We both had an amazing experience with great stylists. I wish the prices were a little cheaper but overall we loved it and will return. I would recommend both Jen and Jennifer to everyone. Made reservations a couple days ago for 2 90min massages 2 foot treatments and 2 pedicures for my husbands birthday present. Get here and they werent able to do the services and had no other accommodations. And didnt even call to let me know. we get there and they told me they were only able to do 1 massage. Been looking forward to this all week and even got a babysitter for the kids. What a waste of time, and sitter. This totally Ruined my husbands birthday. This was my gift to him. Wow! Definitely not going there with their poor service. Not reliable. They couldve came with an accomadation.

The people who work at Simonsons are tremendous. I was a loyal customer for over 20 years. I heard repeated stories from various people about how Kyle, the owner, treated them. I couldnt continue to put money in that womans pocket. Their prices are ridiculously high and of course the workers arent seeing all of that money. She treats her employees horribly and locks them into such strict contracts, that they cant leave or they will suffer her wrath. She doesnt care about the money. She wants control. Its disturbing.

They specialize in women’s hair, but do a great job on men’s cuts as well. I haven’t had a bad haircut yet. It’s a bit more pricey than most men’s cuts but they wash your hair twice and have a great hot towel during the second wash. All the stylists are great and they have all specialty’s of each stylist listed on their website.

Had a manicure recently at Simonsons. The nail tech was very nice. My nails looked great afterward. Unfortunately, the following day the gel polish on two of my nails chipped and peeled. I don’t think I had my hands under the light dryer long enough. She applied the base coat and polish before the rest of the other treatments. Usually that is the final part of the manicure. I think your manicures/pedicures have decreased in quality. I have been coming to Simonsons for close to 20 years. They used to be better. Paying $60 for a lux gel manicure when it chips the next day is ridiculous. I plan to go elsewhere for nail services.

I had my nails done at Coon Rapids locations by Sarah I can not believe the horrible job was done for being a spa and the price at Junior level. She needs way more training on gel products I was triely embarrassed how bad they looked I went someone else to have them fixed. The front desk was not that polite at all. Will not return there ever again. For a spa these services should be professional and look amazing

I scheduled my birthday facial and sought out a new experience with a tech that Im familiar with. Wanting to just relax after a hectic week of drama and just be pampered. My session started 10 min late, partly my fault, partly due to tech not yet available. I was told it would be a 90 min session for $130. Which I thought was high, but as long as I got my time in, I was ok with it. I cant afford to go as often as I like. The provider began chatting me up and kept the questions coming so that I really didnt get the peace and pampering that I came in for. Then about an hour after my service began, and I noticed that she rushed a bit to finish, and voila! Im done. To my dismay, I related that it didnt seem like my time was up yet, to which I was told it was.Then I got dressed and noticed it was a full 10 minutes before the original time it should have ended. Then as I left, my tech asked me how I liked it, and I hadnt even been given a mirror, or any coaching about my skin at all, so I replied my time was shorter than time projected for service to she then says: we leave 5 min on each end to refresh the room, i/e change sheets etc. So I calculated that I received a 62 minute session out of what I was expecting to be 90 minutes. The cost of my birthday pamper ended up costing $2.09 a minute. I did complain, had to do that twice, due to getting the manager while I waited. I was able to share my disappointment and get $20 off bringing it down to $1.77 a minute which in my opinion was still too high being that I did not get my quiet time for enjoying my service without all the chatting I had wanted to avoid. My advice is to go somewhere where they actually care about your feelings and continued business, do that you dont have a disappointment like I have had more than once. Expensive with uncaring attitude. Not my idea of a relaxing birthday celebration.

I am giving this place one star.I had an appointment set for 6:45 pm yesterday and I got there at 6:36 pm. I was expecting to spend ALOT of money here as a treat to myself. But that didnt happen. When I arrived the young lady spoke very softly and asked how can she help me. She checked me in and asked if I wanted something to drink. I told her no, thank you. As I proceeded to look around, I noticed people coming in after me and yet they only waited for about 10 minutes. I sat around and waited patiently. Even made eye contact with the person who checked me in and yet she didnt say anything. It was now 7:15 pm and I decided to walk out. I sat around for 40 minutes and yet no one approached me to let me know that my stylist was running behind.To wanting to spend over $100 here I expected A-ONE service, which I did not receive. They called me at 7:30pm to apologize and offered me a 15% discount. I told them that I didnt feel like they deserved my business. She then tried to tell me that they left me a voicemail before my appointment letting me know that my stylist was running behind and to come in at 7 pm instead. Well I did not receive a miss call nor did I get a msg in my VM. But regardless when I arrived for my appointment. You would think that the young gal would of told me right there then - that there is going to be a wait... nope. I am very disappointed by the way I was treated and with poor communication on their end.I would not recommend this place.

I schedule my hair appointment at a high salon and i get cut and color in 1.5hrs apparently they stop allowing hair appointment after 2 even though they say they are open until 5.... Sounds like theyre just lazy. Good thing i didnt go here.

KRISSY A BEAUTIFUL young lady did an awesome job on my hair. She listened. She saw what I needed. She trimmed up what and where it was needed. Stated we would do step by Step. I have short hair and thicker on on side due to cowlicks . So trying to get someone to do it right is difficult and yet give me style. She appears to have done what others could not.

I am in the cosmetology field and have been for over 30 years. My Daughter and I had an appointment in mothers day at 11:30. When we arrived we were told to have a seat. We waited for a hf hour past our appointment time and no one had kept us posted on that. When they cled us back she stood by the desk called our names and turned around and started walking away from us. During our service there was no conversation. I had asked if they could quickly paint my 4 year old granddaughters toes and she was like we dont have time at first then she said she can do it for $15. I was more than happy to pay that. But it was like a inconvenience for her. Even though we had already waited 10 min soakimg.out feet she could of done it then. But waited till she was done with my daughter to do it. When we were done the stylist walks to the front desk without even walking with me. Extremely poor service. Would definitely not want these team members working for me. As they did not seem to like their job. I would be careful as you never know who is sitting in your chair.

Got a terrible haircut at first. Asked for 3 inches off, but the stylist (who I dont want to name) took off 6 inches! On top of that, it was cut bluntly straight across and had zero layers. I called them later and told them I disliked my haircut, and they made an appointment for me the next day to get it fixed free of charge. The stylist who fixed it was Jennifer, and she did a great job! She was super nice and easy to talk to as well.

Today I arrived at my appointment time and was told that the person who booked my appointment booked me for a bang trim instead of a hair cut and that they couldn’t see me. I get that they have time slot allotments but it was completely their error. I noticed the lady in front of me was also unhappy because they sent her away and asked her to return later in the day. If you NEED a haircut or you have a busy schedule I do not recommend wasting your time here.

Nothing in this review is false. Nothing. The slander and smears attempted by their reply are just sad.Worst customer service I could have imagined. I made my girlfriend an appointment for a mani pedi the day before her flight for 5-7pm. She was leaving the state the next day and schedule didn’t allow her to make a different appointment. When she shows up, they refused her service, citing a completely false text message cancellation that never happened. I reserved the appointment with my debit card information and everything. This appointment was never cancelled by neither I or my girlfriend. When the manager Miranda was contacted by me via voicemail, she continued to 1) not call back, but email. 2) blame the customer and offer a measly 10% off next visit. My girlfriend was clearly and rightfully upset and told them their 10% off can suck it, then left. I attempted to contact corporate over this incident, and I was emailed back by Deirde , who refused to even call me just the same as her manager Miranda. They would rather hide behind their screen, and blame the customer for this incident. I was a customer since 2015 and lived across the street for a few years and used their services quite often in this time.A few days before this, I made an appointment using the same method. No cancellation text was sent out or “confirmed to have been cancelled”. If you ask me, the employee cancelled her appointments and left early for her Fourth of July holiday weekend. Management and corporate quality control are letting it happen, blaming the customer for being upset. Simply no sympathy for the customer, after driving 30 minutes out of her way to find out her appointment is cancelled when she gets there.Very unreliable and unapologetic.And for everyone reading their response, they are completely fabricating and misleading you to make their company look better.The response they replied below shows you everything about the management of this company.

The following comment does NOT reflect Alyssa Youngs service, she is awesome. I was charged $17 for a 2 minute bang trim. Seriously? This is not Beverly Hills. I couldnt believe it. Ive been going to Simonsons for almost 20 years. Im contemplating going somewhere else. $17 for a bang trim is ridiculous. I dont have an issue with paying $120 or so for a full foil, but this is crazy!!!!!

This has nothing to do with any of the stylist but the owner should know how important his front line people make or break first impressions. My Mom just died 1 week ago and I am her only child who cared for her till the very end of her life. I have 2 memorials to plan in 2 different states and all the burden rests on my shoulders and more-over, I am still very grief-stricken as she was also my best friend. KATHY, who answered the phone, was rude, belittling, insensitive, uncaring, AND had an awful attitude. Just one question...how much? and it was like a runaway train where I got so upset I asked for a manager. Instead she passed my on to a poor technician, Melissa, who was very kind and apologetic to me. I have never and will never step into a Simonsons Salon for any reason.
