This is an incredible resource for higher learning! This is the education for the future! Individual plans suited to your specific need. Testing is incredible and progress reports for parents are so easily reviewed. It is the best tool available from my perspective for real organization of a usable education!!!

Its not what I like about it its what I love about it. Its very rare you have someone in our small corner of the world that says theyre going to do something and they do it 100%. They have exceeded my expectations and I have always been happy with the progress my sons and daughter made everytime i needed help for them. Everything about who they were as a student and then what they did in life was for the better. This is my fourth child to use their academic services. No one else compares and no one else has come even close to what you have.Thank you so much for all you do.

Owners are crooks. My child was doing worse in school than before he started. Requested additional support. Requested copies of what he was working on. Was told that they would contact the school. NONE of these things happened. Requested information to no longer have my son enrolled. Told them that I would not be returning for further help and that my son would be attending after school programs for additional help. Left Sylvan in September 2018... The owner charged my bank account in October and November almost 400.00. When I called I received a very rude Andy and then a very rude owner. They will not call me back nor answer phone calls. Corporate will do nothing because they are a franchise and I have to take it up with that location.Sylvan of Cookeville is crooked and they are thieves.The good thing is that my son is doing so much better in school now and it is to no thanks of Cookeville Sylvan. I will never recommend this location and warn everyone that if something goes wrong at any location - Corporate will NOT support you in any way. And if they charge your account you will never see your money again. Talked to an attorney and it will cost me so much more than I lost just to try to get back the money they took.

My son been coming to sylvan for almost 5months now. Sylvan is a awesome place they give my son 1 on 1 sessions and his tutors are awesome. Hes doing better in school and his confidence is higher.

Sylvan learning Center here in cookeville is awesome. My kids likes it a lot and has a great experience there. The teacher and staff are great.

My 10 yr old daughter loves it!!!

Im having a similar problem as Bridgett below! Ive called several times trying to get the situation settled where they have added almost $600 to the balance. They screwed up my sons schedule at one point to where we didnt even know he was finishing at 4:30 and we werent coming to pick him up till 5:30 and the teacher wouldnt contact us and he would set for an hour waiting on us. Not to mention all the times that they have switched teachers and would never send us anything home so we would never know his progress. Difference between the others is that Im not going to let someone take advantage of me. If I have to lose money to an attorney to have this problem fixed then so be it! Ill also be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau!

I have loved Sylvan for several reasons. Initially, when I was younger and would need help, Sylvan targeted my weak points and made them stronger. Secondly, when I was preparing to take the ACT, I took the ACT Prep course offered at Sylvan, and exceeded my goal. This seems to be a trend overall. I would go to Sylvan for help, and Id end up exceeding my goal through the various programs. I couldnt recommend it more.

I have 4 children who attend Sylvan Cookeville. My three girls started with them in July of 2015 . My two of my girls entered for Language Arts remediation and my other girl entered for math remediation. My two girls who started with Language arts have gone from C-D averages to A-B averages across the board because as they finished their Language Arts portion, I had all three completing writing workshops. My third daughter went from some As and some Bs to cumulative GPA of 97, 98, 99, 100 percent in every single class.All of this academic progress and success is because of Sylvan. John and Kristin do such an incredible job with my children. At first, they all dreaded going simply because it was two hours each week after school. But now, my girls absolutely LOVE going. They come home laughing and telling me what their writing topic was this week and the funny creative things they did as they were creating their writing assignments.My son who is in 8th grade has never struggled with anything academically but he finally came to terms with the fact that he needed extra help with math. Today my son came home from Sylvan so happy. The joy and the smile on my sons face was priceless. He was so proud of his support from John and his instructor he is anxious for next week.My children are in 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade and my husband and I are so grateful for the Sylvan team. They truly care and work so very diligently to meet the needs of all four of my children. That is a big deal because my kids are all very different and have different needs and personalities, so for all four of them to come home with such a sense of accomplishment and success means the world to my husband and myself. I took a class to improve my ACT score in reading. My sub score in reading went up 6 points after taking this class! I went from a 20 to a 26!
