Overwhelmingly poor experience with this Hertz location. I’m a Hertz Gold Rewards member and I’ve never experienced such poor service and quality with any other Hertz location. Based on poor quality of service and condition of dirty/cigarette smelling rental, I’d guess their staff is overworked. The woman at the counter said she was both cleaning the vehicles and also serving as the leasing agent. When I called to follow up the service was even worse. Definitely do not recommend you rent from this location unless you are desperate.

Gave me a car with expired registration. This car was all they had after renting out my reserved car before I got there. Then they charge me extra for an upgrade, even though they rented out my reservation and offered me a free upgrade. After calling multiple times, I am unable to get a hold of anyone that can help me. I will be claiming fraud on my credit card and will never be doing business here again. No wonder they filed bankruptcy!

Left quite a bit to be desired. Was told driver would pick me up in 5 min, took 25 min. Only had one car available a midsize, I was very specific that I needed a full size. Only one employee to do everything, she was answering phones, taking care of customers and detailing my car. Since this was the only vehicle they had I took it even though it wasnt what I needed. The dashboard was dusty and the exterior had not been washed. Poor experience overall.

If zero was an option... we had a prepaid reservation scheduled for a noon pickup. Someone from the location called the morning of to remind us that theyd need a credit card for incidentals. We told them no problem and literally told them well see them at noon. We get there a few minutes before our pickup time, and no one is there. The sign on the door states they close at noon and arent open the next day! At no point were we told about the closure. Why would they even schedule a noon pickup if they knew they closed at noon!?! Plus, they called and spoke to us, then closed early! Needless to say, customer service was outsourced and unable to assist... so basically was of no help. Ridiculous situation! We will never use Hertz again.

I had an appointment booked and first was given the wrong call number and then I pay for an Uber to drive me to the rental car place for them to tell me they wouldn’t accept my bank and they wouldn’t allow me to pay in full with cash. The lady that was assisting me was everything but helpful and made me not only waste my time but waste my money paying for an Uber both ways. Definetly a lot of stuff they could have said before I had wasted a half a day finding an Uber ride there and not even being able to have a rental car and bow being stuck with out a vehicle. Will never use this company ever! Poor service and customer care!

Woman at the counter is rude and tried to assault my friend and her pregnant daughter. Physically tried to assault both of them right in front of me. Manager did nothing and basically allowed the crazy woman behind the counter to be rude and assault the paying customer. Hertz is a joke!!! Do not rent form these jackasss!!

If I could give zero stars, I would. 1) this is the worst customer service! Both on the phone to reserve my vehicle and in the store. When I asked the girl for her name, she refused to give it to me and just told me to leave. 2) when I reserved the vehicle through my insurance company and hertz, they said they would deliver, but they refused when I talked to them in person 3) I reserved a minivan for my long legged family members, but they gave me a compact car instead 4) the car was not clean when I picked it up and 5) I worry that the rude girl who checked me out now has my license, email, phone, and debit card info. She was so rude, that I worry she will be vindictive and use my info. I feel very concerned about this.Basically, don’t use Hertz in Conroe unless you have no other choice.

These people have kept my deposit with no damage to the car and I brought it back with a full tank of gas. I called and they transferred me to billing. Billing tells me that my bank has my deposit. I called my bank. My bank is telling me that Hertz is WRONG and they get calls daily on them regarding the same problem.. These people arent even worth one star. No one should ever use HERTZ unless you want to be ripped off. -5 stars

I never rented a car that was not clean inside and outside, without the car check done by the client and the agent. The fuel tank was just half full, water bottles were left from a previous client, a small hole inside the windshield. The agent showed up 22 minutes later than expected, without any explanation, as on the phone nobody answered, while we were waiting for her.

Left my car with the body shops and due to the local Hertz rental place not having a secured Dropbox. Two weeks later Im getting emails and phone calls and their wanting their car back. Not sure who dropped the ball on this but there was also an issue with me maxing my rental allowance with the insurance company and hurts was supposed to have notified me according to my insurance and they never did. I had three pending charges from Hertz when all this started I am now down to one still pending as the other two have dropped off and of course its the more expensive one. The onlyway in hell I would use these people who threw my insurance company and I would definitely try to get my insurance company to use someone else before I was forced to use Hertz

If i could give them no stars i would. The lady named Ashley is the worst for customer service. I gave her the instructions from my insurance and she constantly choose to either be lazy and not do what was needed to get me n a vehicle or she hung up on me. Im pretty dang sure she isnt the manager there and if she was then that company is being led by someone that will set them up for failure.

The customer service is HORRIBLE here in Conroe. We reserved a vehicle 2 weeks prior to picking it up the car was damaged and the interior was muddy. NEEDLESS to say we canceled and will not be using them Egbert again.

I was on the way to the rental place yesterday while having the employee on the phone informing him i was 2 miles away (4 minutes) on my GPS and needed to get my car that was reserved. He told me i would not be able to get a rental car even if i got there before they closed. He told me his name was john when i asked for it, but when i showed up i figured out a John doesnt even work there and a kid named BLAKE was the one giving me the fake name and hung up on me. I highly recommend do not going to this place there customer service is horrible. Manager called next morning blew whole incident yesterday that happened off BLAKE should be fired.

Pros.My friends and I rented a Pathfinder SUV from Hertz for an extended road trip. The vehicle was ready when we arrived. We were very pleased to have gotten a larger SUV than we thought, it was the perfect size for the 3 of us and our luggage.The staff was very cordial and informative, and answered all our questions.Cons.The Hertz location had moved after we made our reservations for a vehicle. No one told us about the new location. Their telephones werent working so we could not reach them for directions. When we finally arrived at the new Hertz location (about an hour later) there was no signage directing us to them. Also, we had to wait for someone to open the locked door. Too much of a hassleCons.When I returned the vehicle there was no one who could drive me back home. I had to wait over an hour until someone was available to bring me back home. They apologized about the wait, they were a little understaffed.All in all, I would still use Hertz again. I understand things were a little crazy with the move, so not holding that against them.

First, there are no signs showing where to go for Hertz; you have to go to the second floor in the building and wait for someone to arrive and then be buzzed in. There was one car available that just arrived. The agent had to go out and vacuum the car. In a positive note, she said she would call when another car is available. I will not recommend this location at CONROE Airport to anyone.

Would like to start on a positive note: the staff is accommodating and informative every time I call and when I was in the office.on the other hand, It took me a while to find their business because they do not have a sign out on the street by the marquee that informs the public ( you know like any normal business establishment does) that say Hey people Hertz is here . So I called them and their phone keeps hanging up and When they finally was able to answer it They want me to go up to second floor and somebody will open the door cause its lock! what the...I was like are you serious right now?

Horrible place that lied to me!We rented a vehicle through our insurance co after our van was totaled. We were taking a trip to see the Total eclipse. When I asked I was told that we could return the van anywhere in the US without a return fee. Since we were planning to search for a new van as we traveled that was very important to us.After hurricane Harvey we were stuck in Arkansas where I ended up purchasing a new van. When I called to return the rental I was told that it would be $1,000 to return it in Arkansas. I called right away and I was assured that, that wasnt correct. But later I was called back by this office and told that they made a mistake and could I please bring the van back to Texas so that they wouldnt have to pay the $1,000. The lady added that they really needed it for the Hurricane Victims Since I wasnt driving yet because of an injury I really didnt want to drive 2 vehicles home. Plus paying for gas. I mentioned returning it to Missouri since we were only about an hour from the boarder. Once again the employee mentioned the Hurricane Victims. We had several friends who had lost pretty much everything and I have a soft heart. I didnt want people suffering without a car just because it would be hard for me to drive it home...I will drive it back but only if you are not going to charge me for the rental from now until I get back. I gave her the date that we were returning if the roads allowed.. 3 times I made sure that they were waiving the rental fee and I would not be charged. I made sure that the lady understood that with the delay in our return do to the hurricane we didnt have the money to pay for renting a car that we didnt need. I said again Frankly I dont want to drive 2 cars back. Its going to mean a lot of pain for me. It will mean buying gas for 2 vehicles instead of just one. It will mean that I cant relax in the car or do anything except drive which is a huge pain. It will also likely take us longer to get home because we will have to take more breaks She said Dont worry about the rental fee. Ill take care of it. Then she added - I will try to get your insurance co to pay for it since it was my mistake. I told her My insurance co has already said that they will not budge on paying for it even though the hurricane delayed us. If I drive it back it will because there are people in our area who need this car badly after the hurricane. I will only do it because of that. And I will NOT pay rental on it from this day on because I had planned to return it today. Otherwise I will return it here and you can pay the $1,000. She told me again Dont worry about the rental fee. Ill take care of it.When we got home the office manager told us that we had to pay the rental on the car because our contract said that it was our responsibility until we returned it. She told us that she was well aware of what her employee promised us (She was listening in) but that our contract took precedence so she didnt have to honor that. Basically she let an employee lie to us knowing that she wouldnt honor it. She also stated that didnt feel that she had any duty to tell me that they were not going to honor what I was told.She than refused to take my credit card to put the charges on even though I told her that if she put the charges on my debit card it would overdraw my account and leave us with no money to eat for the next week. She also refused to give us any paperwork or a receipt. What a horrible way to do business! I suggest that anyone who needs a rental car RUN somewhere else.

The staff is friendly. From other reviews and my own experience - ask for an emailed copy of the pictures your vehicle is in when you pick it up. Make sure ur contract and gasoline levels match. They dont seem to pay attention to all the details which could end up costing u money.Main thing, double check everything they say!

I took a rental car and it is giving oil change alarm. Even while driving I can feel that car is not smooth. I called in morning to setup oil change appointment at their suggested location. Staff at location told that they will call back and I didnt get any call. Its kind a frustrating dealing with, Even though that comes under their responsibility they just behave like they dont care.

Online it said I would only pay 266 and when i got there they charged me for 700!! Tried to dispute it and spent over two hours trying to work with them. DO NOT rent from these guys they will screw you over. They are brokers not even hertz associates. If you like being cheated out of your money come here everytime.

***UPDATE *** Now there is an unauthorized charge of $450 on my cards for damages. One- there was never a walk through when dropping off the truck to there is no proof I damaged it. I even called when I noticed the window (when I first got in the vehicle) 2. They were supposed to deal with my insurance company, not me. Everything was going through them. They were never even called.There is no way to fully express my dissatisfaction with this company!The place is difficult to find with no signage. I had to call three times just to find the location. Then the parking is muddy and next to airplane hangers.I have a service dog. He is not required to be with me at all times however I mentioned it to the gentleman (i use that term losely) behind the desk. I have signed paperwork with a dealership vehicle loan stating about my animal so I didnt know if it was the same here. I was then told repeatedly that they do not allow pets in the vehicle. I tried to explain that my dog is not a pet. Randall finally conceded to telling me I would need to detail the vehicle.His driver followed me to the body shop my truck was going to. They gave me the keys and then disappeared. The truck was dirty with previous clients personal receipt and trash in it. When I got into the truck I instantly noticed that one of the three back glass windows was cracked and webbed. I called Hertz to let him know this was the state it was in upon recieving it. I asked if I needed to send pictures and he said no that he would make a note of it. I drove the rental home. Got my things out if the back (4door truck). When I closed the back door the window started to fall out. I call Hertz to tell them we need to trade out so that they could repair it. I took pictures and sent them over. When I get there to trade out vehicles Randall proceeded to tell me that I damaged the vehicle and that a claim on my insurance was going to be made.This is where I will leave the story. There was alot of phone calls and back and forth. He was rude, insulting and I was switched to Enterprise by my insurance company. Now that is a car rental place. They are clean, professional, and accommodating.

My car was involved in an accident and the person that hit me had their insurance book me with Hertz. I called on a Friday to schedule a pick up after dropping my car off at the body shop, all was confirmed for the next Wednesday. They said I would have a Lyft pick me up from the body shop to take me to Hertz. I waited 45 minutes at the body shop and no one ever came. I was on hold with Hertz for 10 minutes and then hung up because the body shop got Enterprise to pick me up within 5 minutes and had me on my way. I use Enterprise for all my personal needs and will continue to do so. I don’t want to ever deal with Hertz again.

I was involved in an accident and the person who hit me scheduled my rental with Hertz. I called a week before my body shop appointment to make sure they would have a 6 seater SUV reserved for me for my pickup date. I was assured it was scheduled. The day of my pickup I called again to ensure my rental was there waiting as was told yes. A Lyft picked me up and took me to Hertz. It was very difficult to find their entry door as it’s in a very weird location at conroe airport but we finally found it. When I arrived, I told the gentleman that I was there to pick up my reserved vehicle. As he was putting the info into the computer, he told me that there was not a 6 seater suv available. I told him I had reserved one and he verified with me that it was available. He said he didn’t realize the vehicle needed service and therefore I couldn’t rent it. We went back and forth for a few minutes and another employee walked in. Apparently he had serviced the vehicle (given it an oil change) and it was ready. I took the vehicle.The vehicle was dirty inside and out and smelled horribly of smoke. It was so bad I had to air it out and put air fresheners inside. My kids were miserable the whole week because of the stench of smoke. I had the vehicle for 7 days, and dropped it off last Thursday at the dealership and took my vehicle when it was ready. The dealership said they would have Hertz pick it up. Fast forward 8 DAYS. I just got a call this morning from hertz asking if I was still in the vehicle because my car was still in the shop or what. I was confused and told them that I left it at the dealership and that they dealership had called them to pick it up. When I was there I heard her call them. This Hertz location is a mess. No one knows what’s going on, no one knows the status of any vehicles. My rental apparently has been sitting at the dealership for 8 days and they never picked it up. The dealership apparently contacted them today to go get it again. I’m glad I got photos of the vehicle the day I dropped it off to prove it was left with no issues. What a mess. I’ll never use Hertz again.

Customer service was great, no issues picking up or dropping off vehicle. I used a third party to find a really good deal on the price for a intermediate vehicle (Toyota Corolla or similar). I got a Nissan Versa, which was very disappointing. The vehicle was a 2015 with very limited features, basic radio and a very uncomfortable ride. The customer service and employees were great, just poor vehicle. The versa had terrible handling and was even worse in the wind. My only suggestion is to choose better quality vehicles.

Horrible! Horrible! I just left the conroe location with NO car! I had reserved a suv and was told I could pick it up at 12. Do not rely on them if they tell you they have a car for you!! When you get there they say oh sorry no guarantee on reservation!! I will never use this business again!!

Not good!! Was told I would get a level 4-5 car (full size) but gave me a small sentra. Told me they wold upgrade me but I can tell they dont really care. I called and they said nope nothing available. Then they wanted me to call insurance etc..... (Spend a bunch of time) seeing if State Farm would upgrade me to an SUV. Like I have a lot of time to waste on this. No more Hertz.

In November I rented a care frome this locaton, the all bill were paid by insurance, I returned my rental car with full tank of gas.The rental company charged my credit card $49.02 for fuel ???. After three mounth fighting with Hertz to get my money back, I got nothing not evan phone call, this is highway robery.

On my bank account. Brandon from the Conroe office then told me about the hold and indicated it would be released the day the rental was returned to Buckalew provided it was returned with the same amount of gas in it. Well that was more than a week ago now and I am still seeing there is a hold on my Bank Account at First National Bank Texas. I have been told by their office the release has yet to be processed by Hertz. I am extremely upset by the lack of customer service and will be providing this feedback everywhere I possibly can and feel that not only should my $50.00 be returned but also all overdraft fees. Updated ReviewI have continued to rent from this location and have yet to have a bad experience in any sense.The staff at this location is very nice and I think they set the standard for what a neighborhood hertz should be. Unlike airport locations theres a human element so whenever you are 35 minutes late they work with you , rather than just scan and charge as they would at other locations.Returning the car is convenient too. Some of the cheapest gas in town is on the same lot so you can just swing by and fill up before you return ( credit card only for the gas though )Ask for Lawrence , he always finds the best deals and discount codes for me!--Previous Review--I had a total of about 3 weeks of rentals from this hertz location . Plus Ive rented from them twice before .And this is why :I go to Texas to visit family and they live out on 105(cut&shoot). I booked my reservation online and called requesting a ride . They came and picked me up and meeted me at the door with a smile and my rental contract and keys to my car! Since I am a Gold member it may have helped that they had my info and signature on file but it was great and I was outta there in no time .When I returned the car before I could even ask they said they could drive me home . Instead I had them drive me to the library to study a bit and I decided to rent another week . I called and Again they picked me up and had a contract waiting on me .I guess that is the big difference they wait on you instead of you waiting for them .With USAA prices at Hertz are pretty cheap and if not let them know that you are on a budget and they usually help out.Great Customer Service , Fast Service , Totally Satisfied that is how id describe itbtw if yall get a chance to read this , Thank You Soo Much . I wish I can give a 0 stars to this location. I was assisted by a ebonic speaking, rude woman who hang up the phone on me twice. I have both conversations recorded ( on is clearly showing her lack of intelligence and customer service skills) and I will provide both to Hertz headquarters. You literally cannot treat a customer like this. You are a disgrace for the entire Hertz company!
