It was easy to work out, a little more difficult in a mask but Im hoping it will get easier.

I wanted to come here because it’s close to home and my buddies play racquetball ball here. I came in today to inquire about signing up. I do not have a smart phone and I am an old man who has a computer, I was told I had to scan something to get a tour. I told the nice young girl at the desk I do not have a fancy phone, but I can bring my grand son with me at a later date to inquire.I was walking out and another young lady standing outside said something along the lines of That was fast! Got your workout in? I laughed and commented I couldn’t even get through the front desk. So she asked what she can help me with . She walked me back in explained the process but this time used the computer and helped me make a reservation that way. Long story short I have silver sneakers through my medical plan and only certain locations accept silver sneakers she recommended I tour the Antioch location and gave me options incase Concord is what I have my fancy on. Really left an impression! her name was Charlene. I told her If I wasn’t on a fixed income I would pay the outrageous price every month to see her. Very helpful young lady.I asked her what are you doing outside anyway? She said she called the police to do a well check on the homeless man laying across the street. Nice to know there’s still decent humans looking out for one another. I hope Antioch has people like her

Big kuddos to the girls that come in the women’s locker room to clean up after the aqua routinely . It gets pretty wet in there. The bathroom is well maintained and showers are being cleaned.The young ladies at the front desk are very helpful in the morning and they are the same ones who cleans after class.Evening seems a little careless but maybe because they are tired, I have only been to the 5pm class three times so maybe I just come in on bad days .Natalie has helped me numerous of times with my app and the girl with the accent is a joy! The same goes for the young manager with the cute hair styles, the aqua class always comments on her hair, braided , curly , and now she’s blonde, she’s very helpful but I don’t know her name. If you have any issues those girls will help you, but come in the morning

I like this location. Clean and new. Plenty of space and air. Original modern design. Friendly employees, many great areas for working out. Good store with aminos and bcaa. Large parking spot. Many yangs motivated members around what makes me fill charged and refreshed to the new achievements.

I want to say thank you so much 🙏as well to Natalie, Alisha, Sharlyn, Heather. this four girls are doing excellent job. I can tell this four girls they are doing the best for this club.

I have been a member at a plethora of gyms, this is the BEST gym I have been a member at. This gym is HUGE, and for all the different types of exercise one can do to stay IN SHAPE here, a excellent price. Some gyms Ive been to can be pick up places, NOT HERE.People that work here are very respectable and friendly. I hope they have the same manager when they re-open, he is the coolest dude. I like the upstairs work out room, where one can do just about any type of work out, tends to be very quiet in this room. I miss...The great work outs, the cool people that work here, and also special thanks to Anthony the personal trainer that gave me an excellent session. I hope they will open again when its safe to open.

They will take your money and not refund you, even after being a 8+ year member. I had to cancel after the gyms reopened, I was not getting charged most of 2020, then in September they opened not really in my opinion, I showed up after they first opened back to this location and the doors were open but no lights on or staff to be found? . Took my money even after waiting to get in contact with them, would not recommend them. To me the work out equipment only got worse over time, they are trying to do more of a cross fit type of platform it seems..

When I saw $45.97 deduction from my bank count on 10/2/2020, I called In-Shape to help me cancel my account because I have not been living in the area. I was told they could not help me if I would not come in person to the club, but covid cases were highly increasing and I needed an appointment to do it. I was given a number to call to cancel, I was told my wait time was more than 45 minutes, and I was disconnected and could not get a hold of anybody when I called again. It was terrible call time when I had to do it during my lunch break. Today, I called In-Shape again due to another deduction of $94.99 on 11/3/2020. There was no clear explanation except that my previous contact did not grant me the cancellation thats why I was charged again (more than double this time) and the lady named Karla said they will not refund my money. How pathetic it is to hear that they take your money like they dont care at all. Customer service is very poor. The lady in the Concord In-Shape was very rude when I offered to give my member number. She asked me, For what???. Never again. I lost my respect and loyalty after being there for years.

Been going to this place since they took over from Mavericks. Parking lot leaves MUCH to be desired, cant read lines and people almost hit you every day. If you know where everything is inside, then you have enough equipment to handle a good workout. Overall the only place I know of to play some racquetball, I go for that a lot.

Wife was denied entrance for their app not working. Weve been members over 5 years. Wife was very upset then the manager Doug verbally attacked my wife in front of staff and customers humiliating my wife and making her cry then removing her from the premises completely unacceptable very disappointed.

I love this gym! Moved to the area last month and I was looking for an place that offers lots of different classes and is clean. This place is awesome, they have a lot of different workout rooms and everyone can find something they like. The locker rooms are clean and spacious.

The best place to maintain your figure. They have excellent instructors and were good at encouraging. I would surely recommend this to my buddies.

Really like this place overall. Its spacious, has a pool, basketball court, towel svc, classes, not a meat market, and u can always find a corner to stretch alone and zone out. Pretty good pluses at an affordable rate.

Ive been a member since 2012. Used the silver sneakers exercise classes, then I signed up for training sessions with Robin in May 2014 and have been working with her consistently. She is an awesome person and EXCELLENT trainer!! Ive lost 30 lbs., feel great and am more fit than Ive ever been! She has been encouraging, supportive and totally honest with me. I would recommend her to anyone wanting to achieve your fitness goals.As far as front desk staff goes, their lack of common courtesies and attitude could be improved upon. It depends on who is working the front desk...some good, some not so.I like the new colors and interior design, its upbeat!

Nice gym, well-maintained, with clean good-looking showers. It is a clean place with good quality people. Not too many Reckless teenagers. As a matter of fact, not too many youngsters around, probably because its not one of those $10 per month gyms. If a little more, but you get more too. One advantage is that there are lots of classes which are free and usually the gym is not packed. The swimming pool Works 365 days in a year being warmed up. The parking lot is good size too. Lets not forget the complementary daycare. Very basic, but complimentary.

Ive been a member for over 25 years and 4 different owners. The best shape the gym has been in 25 years guaranteed and much appreciated. The only reason I give it 3 stars is after In Shape took over I can never get time on the basketball court to shoot around or play a game with my daughters. I can appreciate all these teenagers and young men playing full court ball but every night until closings. Thanks

Been a member about 17 months primarily using them for their cycle or spin classes and their circuit course for muscle tone. Spin instructors, especially Dara, Tamara and Rod are terrific. Lots of other things offered including lap pool, racquet ball and basketball courts and of course, tons of body building equipment. Very polite and friendly staff!Edit: You can now include Eva in the club of really fun spin instructors!

If you’re going to require that my children wear socks in the summertime or you’re going to send my entire family home then you need to offer socks at your locations. It’s bad business to send your members home, especially when most people don’t live down the block from your location. Disappointed In-Shape ☹️

I had a bad experience with membership in the past but I’m pretty happy with everything now. Equipment is in fairly good shape.

This is my home gym and I enjoy the atmosphere and the staff are kind and helpful.

The morning and closing crew should do a better job cleaning. Saturday mornings are always dirty. Left over towels and wipes everywhere. Also the stretching room needs a good clean.

Great facility, however one thing is annoying and perhaps one could consider a discriminating. The members age varies and the background music is catering only the youngsters. I cant see how one would think that it is beneficial for a focused workout to listen what sound a broken record lyrics about love and love breaks. There is plenty of contemporary instrumental music and listening to various styles would be only fair to everyone. And I am not about to plug my ears when I workout. I know that you can do something about it so dont ignore this please. As a good business I know that you care about your members satisfaction and creating great and healthy environment for workout.

1 Full Basketball Court! Several weight rooms, a pool. Group classes (Katie is awesome!) 4am-11pm M-F Good customer service! A bit pricey but worth it imo.

What really comes to mind is the really nice lady working the front desk. I believe her name is Daffany she was really helpful with me and very nice. I wish more places would hire someone like her to work with the public.

If youre free in the morning they offer a lot of different classes

Suisun city, Fairfield? Bring sanitizers. Not clean and people working act like they dont want to work. They rather look at there phones or flirt.

I would have to agree with other reviews, the staff is to young and all need a costumer service course. Front desk employees dont smile and most of the time dont even acknowledge you. They just scan your membership card and off you go without saying a thing. At least smile or say something to the members. ie, welcome, have a great workout, nice to see you. In-shape use to have a community board by the front desk for member. I wanted to inquire about finding a workout partner. I asked why it was taken down that i would like to find a partner to workout with, I was told by one of the younger guys that was working at the time that I needed to mingle to find someone to workout with. I dont go to the gym to mingle. Frustrating!!!!!!Keith

Girl who works in the evening shift calls the cops if your not out the building by 11 with no warning on the basketball court. Their big wall clock dont work so you have to play with a watch according to the officer.

Great facility. Classes are included with the membership. Dont have a wide range of equipment but enough to get a full body workout.

Place looks luxerius, not a typical gym structure that you have in mind, because there are equipments and weights spread out in different rooms, levels of the building, really need a tour first to memorize where is everything to be able to finish the rutine. Not for serious lifters

This club has made a lot of progress in the past year with General Manager Doug Cervantes. I highly recommend this club for all the right reasons. The club has gone through a miraculous conversion that only someone like Doug could have done. This gym is a perfect place to join, with weight-lifting, racquetball, various machine to help you fine tune your body goals, swimming pool, sauna, steam room, full size basketball court, cardio area, plus a lot more. Give InShape a chance to make you a believer.

The reason why I enrolled in this gym is because I used to be able to do group exercise after hours using the kiosk upstairs but i am so turned off with the staff here cause I have reported that this has not worked at least 5 TIMES and no one is addressing it!! Im very disappointed in this gym and it seems that they are not listening to their members which is very annoying. I dont recommend this gym at all! Im ready to end my membership.

BUYER BEWARE!!!I have been trying to cancel my personal training with the CONCORD IN SHAPE now for almost 2 months. I tried to cancel the day after I signed up after being pushed into the service because he, didnt want me to lose out of this great deal. I am so incredibly angry and upset I dont even want to continue going to the actual club, but Im sure it would be a nightmare to try and get out of that contract.I was supposed to have 5 days to cancel with a company called Custom Built. After they finally returned my call the REP said that they no longer handled In Shapes PT, and that I would have to contact them directly to cancel. I attempted contacting them by leaving a phone message for that department AND an email. No one contacts me. I then contact them again by phone message and email and still no contact. They are holding $349 of MY MONEY hostage!!!I never should have signed up for this in the first place. I told the male personal trainer I should speak to my husband about this, since we are on a fixed budget. Had I known it would be even a tenth this difficult to cancel I wouldve steered so far clear of this. I hate companies like this. They take advantage of the customers. I have sent another email (I believe this will be the 5th one) so we will see if anything comes of that. Probably not. I miss my awesome gym in Fresno that was larger than In Shape, cleaner, far more friendly, and never any issues when it came to billing. No one ever felt raped by them.I feel like I need to call my bank and make sure they cant take anymore money out AND research Small Claims Court.BUYER BEWARE OF PERSONAL TRAINERS TRYING TO TRAP YOU IN THEIR SERVICES.

Solid gym. Compared to what I am used to back home in ireland this gym is a godsend. The people who keep complaining in these reviews are obviously spoilt and very soft. Its a great place and very big. Great equipment and very clean. Friendly staff also.

This gym is okay depending upon your needs and time preferences. I have had both positive and negative experiences. The upside is that the gym is packed with all the things you need for a solid workout. The pool during the summer is great for the kids and the kids play area provides child care most times when needed. Many times the gym is empty, so you can have your run on the machines. The free weight area for the guys may be a different story, but I have had no issues when I was using this area. The bathrooms could be cleaner and the staff is really poorly chosen. It is not anything personal, they are just too young and ill-equipped to handle situations in a customer-based business that require quality care and safety management.Here are my three terrible experiences. The first was when another member was in the same lane as my son and because my son was in his way, he picked my son up, while in the water, and threw him across the lane. My son, who was 8 at the time, was in shock. When I told the staff person, he came out to the pool area and just stood there. He did not say anything to the man nor did he write up an incident. Other members were appalled and couldnt stop commenting and the bully moved into another lane and stayed silent. The staff needs to be better trained and able to handle adult-material. The only people they had on staff were in their early twenties, if that.The second time was when I was using the sauna and there was a woman who was blasting rap music while in her workout outfit and tennis shoes. I asked if she could turn it down a little and she said no. When I went to talk to a staff member, they told me they would leave a message for the manager, but no one called me back. I called three or more times and left messages and still no one called me back. I then requested the cancellation of my membership and then someone wanted to know what happened. When I told them, they said they were sorry and that I could contact the main offices to speak with someone about the matter. It is difficult as a single mom to have to make so many phone calls and take the time away from work and my children, so I opted to only use the facility during the summer for the kids.The last time was when I entered into my personal training program and thought I would try it again since there were new people on staff. All seemed to go well until I wanted to use one of the basketball hoops on the side in the basketball room. I needed it for 15 minutes to help my daughter with her shooting for her science fair project, but there were about 20 guys playing full court, using 2 of the 6 baskets that all members are suppose to have access to. I asked if I could use the one hoop and they said they were playing a game. When I went to the front to talk with a staff member and told him I needed the hoop for 15 minutes for my daughter, he said he would go back and let them know. But when he got back there, he froze. There were so many guys, I think he was frightened. It was only him and another young guy on staff. Both were in their early twenties or younger. When he continued to be speechless, I spoke up and tried to explain about needing 15 minutes for my daughters science fair project and that we would be out by 8:30pm. One guy wanted me to wait until the game was finished. I turned to the staff member who was still silent and he said he could ask them but if they said no, he couldnt do anything about it.It would be my recommendation that In Shape only allow adults to be on staff who could handle safety situations that would arise. Hiring young men and women who are not equipped to handle difficult situations or are not confident enough to run the facility when they are on the clock is poor management and a quality and safety issue for all members. Hopefully the In Shape management will respond better than they have in the past since I am now putting these events in writing.

Shopping around for family pricing called In shape 3 times within a 3 hour period still no call back. Was told that someone name Eric would call me.. i dont think he received my messages. Guess i will continue to shop around and go to a different gym.

The club has a lot of cardio equipment which is good. However, there are weight machines that use a pulley type system and require hand type straps with plastic handles.There are not enough of these handles to go around and people keep taking them off machines and using on others. Plus, these handles are not all the same style so you end up with two different styles of handles on a machine which really screws up the body mechanics when using the machine (which could cause injury). PLEASE get more of these handles for these machines ASAP. Also, I am sooooo tired of not enough hot water in the showers. The temperature changes throughout the shower. I can turn the water on as hot as it will go sometimes and it is only luke warm. And I have had times (and Im talking this week) where I could get no hot water. NOT GOOD! Lastly, I agree with the comments about the cleanliness of the locker rooms/showers. I would NEVER walk around barefoot because the floors are always dirty and I cant believe some of the shower stalls. Part of it is that you have women that are just so messy and use the locker room for coloring hair and more. This is a locker room NOT a spa or hair salon and women should do that stuff at home!

They never cancel your membership. You cancel and they keep pulling your fees from your bank account. Called them three times over three months. They said they would refund, but never did. I had to have my bank block them. Total rip off.

I like it but I go for the Zumba classes and three friends of mine also go for the same thing because we attended a study of only Zumba before, unfortunately they have removed two classes since we started going.

Great in everything except that there is not much for free weight.
