I have been recently traveling to this Golds Gym location as oppose to my local Golds in Harrisburg. Personally, I find the equipment to be better, and this location definitely takes pride in maintaining upstanding reputation. Communication is amazing, had the pleasure of speaking with Travis, Josh, & Jordan, whom which I highly recommend forAny concerns or questions. They were very informative & friendly, Travis had amazing big energy & also trains at this location. Overall, A+ all the way around!

Ive been a member of gyms across the country for decades. I rate Golds in Concord at the top of the list. The facility is immaculate, the equipment is absolutely second-to-none and the staff is friendly and attentive. I recommend Golds/Concord to one & all!

I moved out of state from NC to California and cant get someone to cancel my membership as Im no longer near a golds gym and have not been for 5 months. Ill be getting all my money back from this gym and put a freeze on payment. This is insane on how they use a 3rd party vendor to cancel memberships and you cant get ahold of them. Ive tried 5 times daily , then they had the nerve to say , oh that will be 50$ to cancel when you call them its in your contract. Ya your not only will you not get the 50$, but looks like you also have several other complaints on the same issue from other consumers .

These people know how to help. If you don’t know how a machine works or if you are lifting the PROPER way to get the best benefit all you need to do is ask! Also the place is clean!

Looks like someone else is also have a similar issue. I have made multiple attempts to contact the gym. I have gotten no real answer on canceling a membership. They pawn you off on a secondary company that is impossible to get in touch with. Nearly 3 months of charges and no real answers or conclusion to get a cancelation of membership handled. Its honestly a joke at this point how difficult they make it to just cancel a membership. Its obvious they want to make it difficult. There is absolutely no reason it should be this take this long or be this much of a hassle. They are simply a for profit company that actually doesnt care to help you and handle concerns or it wouldnt cause this much frustration. There are numerous family owned gyms in the area worth giving your money to. Support them. For me to get to a point to leave a review like this is such a bummer but how difficult and the money that is still being charged I had to say something. This is a golds gym, management, and customer service issue. They need to take accountability for that and stop pretending that have things in place that avoid these issues.

DO NOT USE THEM!!!! This company is a complete scam. I called to find out what I needed to cancel my membership on two separate occasions. Their front desk employees said I needed to speak to a specific manager but they were unavailable so to please call back. I got charged for another month. So immediately called again. I was then referred to some secondary company that stated I needed to give 30 day notice of cancellation. Since I finally got ahold of someone who could tell me how to cancel one day after my bank was charged, I will be charged for yet another month. With my membership ending one day after being charged.DO NOT USE THEM!!!!

Everything you need, plenty of room and space to get your workout in. Lots of free weights and machines.

I just joined this gym because fitness connection was not doing any justice. This staff is beyond friendly and helpful! I’ve never felt so welcomed in a gym before. The place was very clean and had nice equipment. They are very transparent oh and my favorite once your a member you have 24 hour access!!!!!! Love it so far!

Great gym. It is 24/7 and is consistently clean. Although I do wish there were some more plates/clips for the machines/bars cause it feels like I have to go on a quest to find the weight I need.

I’ve been a member of the gym for quite awhile and just recently decided to really improve my health. I’m now using one of their fitness coaches and I’m so glad I found Demontez. I’m older but he really understands body mechanics and is very professional in helping me to achieve a new level of physical fitness.

Gold’s Gym (Concord/Copperfield location) required my husband to add our 13-year old to his gym membership when he signed him up for personal training sessions (which he pre-paid in full), pre-COVID. Gold’s, like most businesses, closed temporarily so we were unable to use any of the sessions and in the interim, we moved. My husband decided to cancel his membership since we moved. Not only did he have to call, then email and wait for a call back, but upon speaking with Kelli, Director of Customer Service, he was informed that he could cancel his membership, but our now 14-year old son’s membership could not be cancelled because it’s a 2-year contract and we did not move at least 25 miles away! In my opinion, he shouldn’t have been required to enter into a membership just to participate in personal training, offered at the gym, and charged and paid separately. We paid to get out of the contract. My advice, choose a place where you can avoid contracts, read AND question the fine print, and enjoy the great outdoors and home workouts if you can as we all try our best efforts to stay safe!

Great gym, has pretty much all the equipment needed for fitness goals. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. The classes are also challenging in a good way. Very motivating atmosphere!

Akeen Brown is the most unprofessional personal trainer I have ever dealt with. I run my own business and I would never treat my clients this way. I sent him money over a month ago for four sessions and I have yet to be accommodated for my first session. I always have to text him first and try to schedule with him and then he blows me off. I genuinely feel like he took my money and never had any intention of training me. He sent me one meal plan not even knowing my weight, height or my goals. He said since he sent me the meal plan he would not refund me the money. I asked him to send the money to another trainer who would be more accommodating and motivating/ positive for me and he wouldn’t. He also said “let’s just knock these four sessions out in one week and be done with this”... unfortunately I paid for not only weekly sessions... but meal plans... daily check ins ... and work outs and I have barely received any type of positive/motivational information from him yet I’ve already paid in full. I just went through a break up and someone approaching me at the mall for sex trafficking and I was really looking for positive reinforcement and confidence. I picked Akeen because he has experience in self defense but this is honestly the most unprofessional behavior I have ever experienced.

They dont have near the equipment other golds gyms have and theres a man that cleans the womens locker rooms during peak hours. And to make it worse he wears headphones so he cant tell when women have come in. The carolina Golds Gym franchise definitely doesnt give this location the respect it gives the others. Also, anytime it rains theres lots of leaks everywhere. Yet we still pay our annual maintenance fees. wish there

Solid gym, have been going for about 3 years now. Good equipment, lots of free weights. Only complaint I have is that the locker room emits a very unpleasant smell 99% of the time Im in there, and its been so for the whole 3 years Ive been going. I understand its a locker room but simple air fresheners would help.

If I could give 0 stars I would!Im having the same issue as Michael. I was a member with club fitness. I was grandfathered in with golds when they bought club fitness out. The facility was less than nice but okay for the $10 I paid a month.I moved an hour away and tried to cancel via phone. The person told me that Id have to speak with the manager. The manager told me I had to cancel in person. So, I drove two hours (construction traffic) to cancel my $10 membership to be given an email address to then cancel it. No manager would speak to me and nobody would give me the owner/ regional managers contact info. After I emailed them I got a auto reply message stating that I couldnt cancel my $10 membership via email. I had to cancel in person or via stamped letter with a hand written note that had all of my updated information on it. I got a new card from my bank (because mine had been compromised) and theyre still charging me $10 a month for a membership I havent used in nearly a year.Someone please help!! I never had an issue with club fitness. I even spoke with a corporate store manager and he said that I could cancel a corporate member any time via email or in person.

The cancelation for this gym is crazy. I have gone to golds for several years at different locations. The one in Harrisburg under a different franchise is amazing and work well with you. This gold gym ... You cant cancel at the gym or online l. You have to contact a third party to cancel. At that point yall are just trying to make it as difficult as possible. Again love golds and currently have a membership with the high point location. If your thinking of joining this one or any other location owned by the same owner. I strongly recommend if you are in this area go to the Harrisburg location. Do not go this this gym.

Amazing experience

Great atmosphere, the gym is huge with lots of equipment. They offer group fitness classes with Les Mills programs too. There is something for every type of exerciser. From beginners to athletes. It’s motivsting to be there. The gym is clean has awesome staff members who are friendly and helpful.

This gym has been in the dumps for a while. However, I have say that recently with the new hires and Cliff coming back as management, the gym has really turned around. The new equipment is being kept in really good condition and repairs are fast. Cleanliness has risen as well. The front desk staff and sales are very polite and are on the same page. Emily Shepard has really helped out in recovering lost clients, Emily has ensured that complaints and concerns are addressed quickly and a resolution is found. I look forward to my workouts there.

Amazing gym. The equipment is well maintained and the staff is highly attentive to member needs. More importantly, regardless of your physical goals, there is someone on staff who is extremely knowledgeable and supportive.

Member for 2+ years. Ended up moving and cancelled membership (or so I thought).6 months later I got charged a “maintenance fee”. Owner was helpful but couldn’t get charged reversed due to “3rd party billing”.Disputed it with bank and got refunded 100% within 2 days. That’s the way to go! Don’t even bother talking to Gold’s or ABC financial, they won’t do anything.

The lady at front desk is great and friendly at 5am, but the gym is not what promised when gold took over. They went up on my rate saying it was because it was going to be a better gym with lots of up grades to building and equipment. Nothing has Ben done and the equipment is broke and takes forever to get repaired. I do not recommend this gym and of changes are not done some I will stop my contract and go to platform gym.

Golds of Concord is a great place to workout. Within the last 6 months theyve renovated the entire interior as well as upgrading more than half of their equipment to brand new. With membership here you can also workout at the Golds in Harrisburg which is perfect for me to where I can workout at whichever gym is closest to my job site for that day

Fun effective group classes! Quality and wide variety of weight machines, free weights and cardio equipment. Newly renovated too. Shower facilities and sauna are great.

The gym has made so many renovations. It is a great place to work out. There are many classes to choose from and the equipment is up to date.

I have been a member at this location long before it was Golds Gym. The new owners are coming through on their promise of a state of the art gym. The owners recently won an award for the best Golds Gym in the United States and they are in the process of turning this gym into the same. I am excited about all the new equipment they are putting in and looking forward to seeing the final product. The members that work out at Golds are nice and it is truly a judgment free zone. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a great exercise facility. One of the best benefits is the incredible staff. They are very welcoming and even though I havent learned all of their names I havent met one that doesnt treat me like a friend when I enter. I will be a member for years to come.

Me and my wife have been signed up for about a month now and we love it. The people are nice. People that complain about contracts thats your own fault for not reading the print and just signing away. Its hard to find a place as nice as this that has classes to attend, great equipment, bathrooms in great shape, and a really good theater room as well. What more can you ask for.

Pass the buck.I was a member of this gym while it was transitioning to a Golds Gym. Our membership was up and I requested to cancel our membership. I called their customer service number and cancelled, I went into this gym 3 times to cancel, I even contacted the owners at the gym in Harrisburg and never got a reply. To this day Im getting a bill for several months of membership from a collector. I got a text message the other day from one of their trainers asking if I wanted a free session. I also replied to them that I needed help resolving this in which they never replied. Im doing this review in hopes that somebody would finally resolved this and quit passing the buck. Thanks to your lack of customer service Ive been dealing with a debt collector for months now in which they could care less about the true problem. Please contact me and Ill be more than happy to remove this review. Until then everybody needs to know what you guys are doing to your customers. Lets fix this???

Was a member for 3 years, moved away a year ago and have cancelled my account a total of 4 times now yet this gym is still charging me every month. Finally had to file fraud complaints. Don’t trust them to follow through on anything, as reflected in their constantly broken equipment, and horrible service.

Roomy and generally well equipped. Cleaning staff on perpetual duty, keeps the place fresh and tidy. They could use more cable accessories and barbell collars, but otherwise very positive!

Ive been going to this gym before it was Club Fitness, it was Achieve Fitness. Its been great. BUT now they got bought out by Golds Gym. From what Im hearing, US that have already payed for years to come, our memberships will not be honored by the new gym and were going to have to pay. Understandable, sure, maybe.... but when they dont fix the water fountain for half a year, all you get to drink is hot water. Class instructors are late and they never have a way to contact them. The same machines have been broke for as long as I can remember, love the sauna though. Bathrooms are good half the time, but never soap or paper towels. They forget to turn on my tanning bed all the time., so I have to put everything back in to go back out there to tell them. Day care used to be ohhhhh h so bad. But theyre been switching babysitters, so its looking more clean.

Great staff! This gym is very open with more than enough equipment and free weights without feeling cramped and crowded.Ive been a member here at this facility through different ownerships since it opened - the current group is, by far, the best staff thats been here.

Would rate higher just because staff is great but the equipment is old and member abusing equipment. Also promises of renovations then one thing done (cameras) then nothing for weeks and paying higher price for same gym and same equipment. Staff is amazing but deserve raise or something because many great employees leave because they cant support themselves with the pay they recieve.

No one ever picks the phone up and the managers never call back. Impossible to speak to anyone helpful. Have never been ripped off like this in my life. Everyone is careless, no value for customers.

Large and clean but the people do not put weights away and personnel do not reinforce making patrons put weights away which is not fair to alot of people that are older or smaller women other than that very nice.

The new manager has turned this gym around and has made it one of the best iron chapels to get a great pump..

The gym is absolutely beautiful! Turf, tires, and all the equipment you could ever want. I only have 2 gripes, the Olympic lift station is way too small, and why are they waiting until 10am to open on sundays? For 35$ per month I shouldnt have to wait until 10am to workout. Overall I love it here though

Gyms is great. Unimpressed with staff members and the hours are not ideal. Staff is very un-informed and does not care much about details. Will tell you anything to get you off the phone or to sign up for a service. 5/23/2016 I do not recommend trusting the staff. As with Don, the previous reviewer, they have promised updates and changes for months and only a seat cover has been replaced.

Great place to workout, new equipment, nice locker room, and they have tons of group classes for all fitness levels.

The new manager, Kaveh Mehrabl, is doing a great job. The gym is much cleaner and the new staff is courteous. I have been a member for several years. Currently the gym is moving in the right direction. Give it a try!

This fitness centers billing department is operated under National Fitness.... they are nothing but con artists. They will tell there is nothing they can do and will send you jumping through hoops to get any billing related issues worked out. Please do not be their next financial victim.

The manager kaveh creeps me out. I met him while working out here and one day I saw him taking pictures of himself for Instagram and started laughing but he came up to me and just started talking like “oh it’s funny huh” in a joking way ” do you like what you see “ trying to flex and I thought it was funny but we exchanged numbers little did I know he apparently does this with a lot of women this gym gossips like crazy and word around this gym is he’s 33 or near it and dates the 18 year old employee Kayla? If this is true that’s absolutely disgusting but I’ve heard this several times and I’ve seen them interact In this gym together I’ve seen him films her and she flirts right back like she owns him so I wouldn’t doubt it so ladies beware the manager here he is a complete douche bag and full of himself

I have agree with aaron. cancellation of your membership is ridiculous. I signed up for a year but after being harassed ever time i went to sign up for personal trainer, i stopped going after 2 months. I misplaced the paperwork and tried to cancel on the website which you cant! so I cancelled my card then i guess 3 months after my contract expired i started recieved harrassing phone calls not stop about paying for 3 months I never went!!! i promise to let everyone know not to go to golds. What a scam.

The cancellation policy is impossible. I moved across the country and cannot cancel.$50 cancellation fee plus 30 days notice if you move.If you call to get the process going they cant help or even stop your membership from auto renewing.Also, their Free Month for referals is misleading... Its an extra month AFTER you cancel your membership

I have been going to this gym for a couple of years now and I am impressed with all of the new renovations. The staff is awesome and I enjoy coming in everyday.

I am extremely disappointed with this Golds gym location. At sign-up, many of the fees were not discussed with me until I was basically signing the contract. I spent about $100 more than I expected to that day. Also at sign-up, renovations were promised to start within a month, and 6 months later, I have seen no changes. A lot of the machines are broken somehow; many of the bikes have no pedal straps or the seat cannot be adjusted, treadmills are wobbly and there is actually a weird moldy substance in one of the treadmills cup holders. I am paying for a top-of-the-line gym, and have not received it. I started going to the Harrisburg location, which is a completely different story, but it is an additional 30 min drive from my house (which defeats the purpose). Now, 6 months after the start of my contract, I could not feel more trapped or disappointed. I do not recommend.

This gym is the worst when it comes to customer service! The manager there by the name of Sam closed my account because I moved out of state, the owner of the gym decides that she does not like that and charges my account anyway. Regardless of the paperwork that I received stating that my account was closed with a zero balance and I owed them nothing! They never call you back and they definitely run a dishonest business!!!

Great place to work out, the staff is great and the sauna is 👌🏼

My only complaint is that the music is awful. But thats what headphones are for. All the fecilities are good and the equipment is great.

Been there for 4 years now started with club fitness signed a deal with stan the manager there that paid for first 2 years at $29 a month for me and my wife and then next three years were free. well when gold bought them they didnt honor it. I September last year when gold moved in they said a bunch of big changes and havent done anything. it doesnt effect me I am mainly there for weights so I dont need a fitness center just a gym. then my wife only does cardio and when they took the tv out of the loop, when it was time for he to renew she said not till those are fixed. I dont mind the gym the way it is, but dont make promised you dont keep.

This gym is straight trash. I joined her november 2015 based off of my experience at the harrisburg location. This gym promised they would be remodled and running like their other locations. The lady also asked to sign me up for 2 years and i declined, well they did it anyway. This gym hasnt been remodled STILL aside from very minor things, managers never work and apparently they are the only ones who can do anything. This gym is not worth the absolutely rediculous monthly cost.

I dont even know where to start with all the things that are wrong with this place! The place smells like mildew, construction going on the entire year, no towels available, poor customer service, dirty restroom/lockers, and showers unavailable in the middle of workout having to go back to work all sweaty... its unacceptable :/
