Davey Tree provided courteous and professional service. Max Norton was great to work with. We had a new tree planted plus trimming and maintenance on our other two trees and we are very pleased with the results. They also removed a diseased tree for us last fall. The crews all did a good job and very courteous in answering our questions.

I have used Davey Tree since 1999. I live on a wooded lot and have had many trees removed and pruned do to disease, dying, thinning, etc. I cant say enough about the expert tree service this company provides. Don Wells has been my tree advisor for many years and has always given great advice and recommendations for all my trees. This morning I had Ted and Dan come out to remove branches from a 100 tree in my back yard and do some pruning on some ornamental trees. You cant even tell they were here two hours after they arrived. Believe me, you dont want just any tree companies removing big trees around your house. I have seen the destruction caused with some of my neighbors that have used some of these other tree companies. I wish I could find more companies like Davey’s! We had a large branch fall on the side of our house and back patio less than 24 hours after moving in. I made a call to Chris the next afternoon and he returned my call within the hour; he was at the house for a consultation shortly after that. Chris was extremely professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. He provided a thorough inspection and explanation of the trees on our property and offered valuable insight for future maintenance. The removal team was there the next day and they were just as exceptional. Not only did they haul away the branch, they cut up some firewood for us, used a leaf blower on the entire back patio and yard, and swept the driveway. Best service ever!!

I have had Davey for 2 jobs and have been very satisfied with the results. The crews are professional and also do a thorough job of cleaning up. On the last job, I had contracted a local tree service company for an estimate but they turned down the work as it was a bit complicated. Davey responded within a couple of days. The tree and they were gone in 2.5 hours without using any mechanical equipment due to the location. While their price may seem a bit higher, the Expert in their name is worth it in my opinion. Largest employee owned business in Ohio and headquarters in Kent.

We had several large limbs that needed immediate removal. Max and the Davey Tree team were incredibly responsive and were able to get the job done within 24hrs of notification. They did a great job and the clean up was impeccable! Well done!

Our job was not your run-of-the-mill tree job. We live on a ravine. The trees we had pruned were around our deck. They were 70-100 feet tall and some brances hung over the deck (which has a pool in it) and over the pool equipment.Max gave us a great price, but it was his confidence, expertise and confindence that sold me.The crews were AMAZING! The cuts that had to be made to avoid damaging anything were beyond impressive! Not one twig landed on the deck. I also have to mention they were unstoppable! Day one, while 50-70 feet up in the canopies we had a TORRENTIAL RAIN STORM. The second day the heat index was over a 100.Everything is beautiful. I cant recomend this company highly enough. Ill be having them back next year to tackle andother monster tree!

Pruned one tree and convinced me to have a tree removed rather than pruned with the promise to have someone call to make an appointment for stump removal and new tree planted. They called me later same day and made an appointment with me for 4 days later. I waited for them to come the afternoon of the appointment. No show. I have called 4 times only get voice mail. No call back. Thought this was a good company, learning otherwise.

Donald Wells at Davey Tree is fantastic. He is incredibly knowledgeable and very helpful and responsive. We shopped around for quite some time looking at pricing etc. before finally pulling the trigger and Davey Tree was the best price and did great work. Took out 5 trees and the stumps and will definitely be going back to Davey for any future tree work we need. HIGHLY recommend!

In the efforts of doing some sprucing up we had several companies out to bid on removing dead and infested trees on our lot. Davey provided a fair quote in a timely manner. When the team showed up with the most impressive equipment we felt very reassured that this was the best company we could have chosen. The two men performing the difficult task of removing the limbs and trees on our challenging lot were professional and proficient in their work. They performed the job in a timely manner and left our lot clean. I would recommend and hire again.

Columbus Davey tree was so great through the process. We needed a large tree cut down that was partially over the house. They came quickly for my free quote and then got me scheduled for a tree removal within a week. They were lower priced than the other companies that I got quotes from too!When they came out, they got the tree cut down really quickly and safely and cleaned up everything really well.A great experience for tree removal!

Salesman was really responsive when I called for an estimate and gave me a decent price for pruning and fertilizing a tree right on the spot. But, It’s been a few months since then and they just never showed up.Called once and was told they’d be out at the end of November and they never showed. Thinking the job was just to small for them and if that was the case I just really wish they’d tell you up front and I could have found someone else.

We have used Davey for years and once again, this Team oriented company has proven as to why we keep going back. Chris was our fieldworker arborist and was very well versed and explained everything in an easy to understand manner. The feel team was fantastic and we would highly recommend Davey for any tree removal/trimming/landscape design and fulfillment needs. Great bang for buck!

The best tree service in Columbus. They have a robot that they carefully control to dig out the stumps. The stalky guy with the beard did a fantastic job getting our tree stump out without affecting our garden. Highly recommend and worth it.

Thanks even more for the large cut branch your team left high in a tree that is sure to blow down at the worst moment possible. I find Davey to be completely overpriced and unprofessional. I was a customer for almost 20 years and they jacked up the prices almost 30 percent with no notification. They claim the contract was “ lost in the mail”. This company has no loyalty to you and I found the sales rep I had never came to my property or checked on anything. He even hung up on me once. I am no longer a customer and they continue to send mailings, etc. Apparently these unwanted mailings didn’t get lost in the mail. My yard already looks better with the new company.After I cancelled my contract with them, they scheduled a late fall treatment without contacting me first. I had to call multiple people to tell them I did not want the treatment and that I had already hired another company. I find the confusion and chaos with this company completely unprofessional and incompetent.

I have used Davey for the removal of two trees, stump removal, and trimming and pruning. Their staff is professional and courteous. They let you know what they are going to do before they do it and do a fantastic clean-up after. I highly recommend Davey for all your tree service needs.

Davey Tree trimmed and removed dead limbs in two of our trees and cut down, then ground the stump out of another tree. They were highly professional, did a fantastic job and left our property spotless! Their attention to detail was outstanding! We will use them in the future.

I have used another tree removal service, and frankly, they scared me when I watched them in action. I have seen the Davey vehicles over the years and when I received a mailer that advertised a free consultation I made the appointment. I met with William and he provided me with a great overview of my propertys needs and showed issues and gave me remedies that I could pursue on my own in some areas. I needed a huge pine removed and two other trees pruned. I told him my primary concern with Davey would likely be the cost. I was pleasantly surprised their quote was very reasonable. The work was completed in two phases with the removal and pruning being first. The team that did the work (Carlos and Dan) were very impressive in these ways: 1. the care exercised in positioning the heavy equipment 2. the quality of the equipment 3. the obvious training in the skills they demonstrated and the attention to safety for them as well as for the property 4. the clean up left the area in better condition than when they started 5. they were friendly and very repectful. Phase two was the removal of the pine stump and root system. Again, the same impressive display of all the above qualities (Luke). Davey has a loyal new customer!

Chris Elwood was very professional in initiating the services of “Davey Tree” . I was impressed with the safety instilled in removing a very large tree in a very small space, and the removal of branches on my beautiful maple tree, it looks great.

I went to this company to have two trees planted in my yard. One in the front yard one in the backyard. They came out for the first visit and then I did not hear from them until I badgered them for my estimate, after which time I immediately answered the email communication with questions which have never been answered. I tried to call No answer. The communication is absolutely horrible Youd be better off buying a tree yourself and getting a shovel.

Overpriced! I got multiple quotes and Davey’s was more than double my previously highest quote. They must just have more overhead or something

Davey is the company that our HOA has hired to do landscaping. They have now cut our internet cable twice now while mowing the lawn. Once at the beginning of June and now at the beginning of July. No one has come to tell us that they cut it even though I could hear them cut it when it happened this morning, I dont see how they didnt notice when I heard it from my second story closed window. Wehave talked to the crew in person and they say they will talk to their guys about it but they might not listen. We got a similar answer on the phone as well. Internet is always important in our daily lives but during a pandemic? Essential! Extremely disappointed and frustrated.

My wife and I were pleased with the speed and efficiency of the Davey crew in removing four trees and cleaning up other damaged limbs after a direcho and doing so at a reasonable price.

Davey did a great job. Everyone I spoke with was courteous and knowledgable. The crew was punctual, and cleaned up nicely when they were done. Davey made the whole process easy!

Jake was incredibly knowledgeable and easy to work with. I highly recommend him. Within a few seconds he had my issues figured out and even gave me some helpful tips to keep the issue at bay once they got it fixed for me.

We contacted Davey tree about 2 yrs ago for a free consultation. We were concerned about 4 trees. A white pine that died suddenly, a Cleveland Pear and a Maple tree that was dying, as well as preserving our Ash tree. This was the 3rd company we called and I was so happy to have someone that actually went up to the trees and examined them and told me right on the spot what was wrong with 3 of the trees and that we will do our best to preserve our Ash which had no signs of borer. Needless to say we contracted them to take care of our trees. Yes, they were a little more expensive but so impressed with the knowledge our rep had and the fact he actually went up to each tree to check them out.

Gave one star only because I couldn’t give ZERO!!! This post is directed towards the group of guys in the Davey truck/trailer who veered sharply across 3 lanes of traffic, NO turn signal, last Friday, May 3rd, approximately 8:15 a.m., on Westerville Rd., just after exiting off RT. 270 where the driver was driving barely 40mph, then LAUGHING about it when I pulled up next to them. I would have taken a picture of their license plate, if everything, including my phone, hadn’t flown off the seat after I slammed on the brakes! Rude, inconsiderate, and could have caused a horrible accident because of their reckless driving. These type of employees are definitely not good advertising for the company, and neither am l!!!

We had a tree fall across our home on a Friday evening. They were closing for the day but sent a crew out, removed the tree and cleaned up. They secured the roof until we could get a roofer out. They did all of this in the dark! Wonderful company.

Would not waste your time. Tried for a month to get them to do work for me. No call backs or long period of days before a callback. Not sure if the $300 quote was to small or they are just going down hill with customer service. Found another company great job and will be referring them to many since I work in a nursery myself.

Davey Tree came out and to cut down 2 trees on my neighbors property on or about 3/23/2018 and 3/26/2018. They asked for permission to use my driveway to reach one of the trees. I said yes. I videoed the truck on my driveway. Today I found a crack in my driveway in the EXACT place their truck was sitting. I have video of the crack. Im so disappointed. I want my driveway fixed. I did not expect that they would drive and park their multi ton business truck on my residential driveway...

We have used Davey for more than twenty years. That says it all.

This is a arbory company which also dabbles in landscaping. They get the job done and done correctly, but are not exactly the most competitively priced option. Most people should probably just do their own tree work since it is neither dangerous, labor intensive or time consuming. If that doesnt work, teep in mind that these things tend to work themselves out on their own given enough time. Patience is said to be a virtue, after all. Why obsess over minute, inconsequential minutiae when youre just going to die either way? Youre racing to a red light. Just learn to live with things you have no ability to influence and focus on more productive things. Only when you truly like yourself will your tree be to your liking, and probably not even then.

I called to get an estimate early May, 2017 to prune my tree. I got the estimate, however, each time I called to schedule the work, I could not get the arborist to get back with me. Finally, nearly 30 days later, I am scheduled for service, but the arborist did not call, e- mail or show up. I am so done with this company. I called another company today and I got a cheaper estimate the same day.

Hesitant to call after reading reviews but thought Id give them a shot. Was met by an extremely outdated and confusing phone tree (no pun intended) system. The woman on the recording sounded very nice, but I dont know who Scott, John, and Tiffany are, what they even do, or have a pen and pad to write down all their extremely long extensions. Im sure they chop trees with the best but saddened by the lack of thought for the layman.

I wish I could give no stars because I did not even have the opportunity to speak with anyone. I called to learn about their services and maybe schedule an appointment but I cannot do so because their telephone system does not provide this option. There is also no option to leave a message.

Davey tree has put in a lawn for us, planted two trees, trimmed trees as well as provided a lawn service for us both in Canton Ohio as well as Columbus. These people know what they are doing and have arborists who are the customer representative for all of Daveys offerings. They may cost a little more than other services, but doing it right the first time always save you money. Take it from a person who always has to watch what is spent on things.

They try to teach kids and community about tree care!

UPDATE: 5/1/2017 I am ok with 4 starts now. The Davey Team contacted me following this review and made good with their services. The team was very apologetic and fit me right in. They also offered fertilizing for my two Spruce trees at no charge to compensate for my time. The crew came and cut the invasive tree to spec, removed my 3 bushes, cleaned up and were very polite. The following week the moth man returned to spray my trees and as I write this the fertilizer fella is here doing as promised. Thank you for great service. I keep the last star ;}I cannot review Davies Tree Service work, I can only review their customer service or lack there of. They did not show up for me. I called to make an appointment for an appraisal in the very beginning of March this year. I had to wait 2 weeks for the appraiser but when he came I explained to him the urgency of the matter. I have a large linden tree growing directly into one of my twin Blue Spruce trees in my front yard, which is slowly killing it and I needed the branches remove before the tree leaves out. I was told they were two weeks out on appointments and that it would be taken care of in plenty of time. Here it is April 17th and the tree has leaves! No one from Davey has been here yet, no ones called me to make an appointment! Ive called the company 7 times, SEVEN, and have received two apologizes with promises of appointment and return calls with actual appointment date. James Herrick is the man whom was to set that up but Im still calling. I called one last time this morning and had to leave a voicemail since no one was there to answer the phone. I asked for a supervisor to return my call but we shall see. Immediately hung up, called another tree service and got an appointment for tonight. Same day. I cannot recommend this company to anyone and as a small business owner here in Columbus, I am beyond disappointed in the lack of customer service and care.

Davey came by this morning and treated our lawn, and being home I had the opportunity to see what was done. Was super impressed with the quality of work that Ozzi performed. Being a Life member of the PGA I have extensive experience in golf course maintenance. Ozzi did a complete professional job on my lawn. I have a hitting golf range in my backyard and he took the time to actually blow of the granular fertilizer off my hitting mat as well as my back patio and driveway.By far this is the best company that we used to treat our property.

Wow... long time customer now looking elsewhere. Tipping point was just now when I was blamed for customer service issues for not reporting it sooner. Never mind that I did hear from my rep ***AT ALL*** last season, after a quick visit in late winter (before the trees started to leaf-out). Residential service feels like an after-thought. And now, I want to cancel some services for next year, my rep wants to jack up the quoted price on another service renewal. Just wow... and goodbye.

Came to my house to give an estimate to have some trees removed. I was promised Id have this estimate by email. After 3 weeks and 2 phone calls I still dont have an estimate for these trees to be removed. Im not going to beg you guys to take my money. Ill just give you a bad review for wasting my time and move onto the company that can send me the estimate.

They are terrible neighbors.. the workers come into the parking lot very early.. music blasting..horns honking from the large trucks..etc. In my opinion this is not a very professional company.

Work for this company. They take care of their clients and help with all landscaping and tree services.
