Mod Cons Tool Library is the best deal in Columbus for tools that you need infrequently. Pay $50 (or less if you are a student or need financial assistance) per year to rent almost any tool you can imagine, from fence post pounders to circular saws to lawnmowers to ladders to tillers. Its an incredible resource for anyone looking to do a little home or garden upkeep or remodeling.

What a great non-profit! These folks provide services to the elderly, helping with home repairs, in addition to providing a FREE tool loaning service. If you are not elderly you can pay a small yearly fee and borrow tools as needed from their large collection. Their staff is very friendly and I would highly recommend them, they are truly a positive force in the community.

I was a new homeowner and had no tools but wanted a well maintained yard and they were their for all my wants and needs for a good looking yard! By the next summer I was able to purchase a lawn mower and other tools, great program!

...and God saidLet there be tools low cost membership, ladders, grinders, tools for plumbing, flooring, tiling, gardening, and more. Lawn mowers, buckets, cords, whew! Im out of breath. Just Go! Paying for someones membership is a great gift, and it keeps them from borrowing your stuff...lol. STAFF IS GREAT, PATIENT, HELPFUL!!

What a great program! If you live in the city of Columbus and you need to borrow a tool. Screwdriver, lawn mower, ladders, concrete tools, rototillers...whatever. Come over. They dont have everything but they have a lot. A small fee to join but then borrowing is no cost.

What they do for the community is outstanding helping older people and those with physical and or mental ailments take care of their homes is a blessing the products they allowed to be rented are sturdy and dependable we recommend more people utilize their services

Ive been a member for a while. Yes it is good and Im thankful for their organization. But beware as has gotten less and less of a deal due to their fees and fines. I think they should be able to scale back on the fees and still remain viable. Borrowed a weed eater recently, barely used, and got a $5 fee for not cleaning, never mentioned when I returned the tool. I called to dispute the condition but to no avail. Borrowed a few small tools (hand saw/hammer, stuff like that) and ended up paying more than the items were worth in fees. Of course this can be avoided but when you work a full time job and they are only open late once a week...

Although it seems u get great prices???By the time u have to chase down all the missing parts & double the labor???Its actually cheaper to go to Lowes

Just learned of this hidden gem when I was going to rent a floor sander from a traditional tool rental company. Saved $$$ and didnt have to rush the tool back the next day.

Pay 40$ for a year of membership so I can borrow a hammer.. screw them.
