My dad recently passed away . Was a resident at the shelter! They stole money out of his account !! And are continuing to take money out of his account from his social security ! Mind you it’s may and my father passed away in March !! The lady that runs it Syrhinna mahomes is very crooked and will steal your money ! Very nasty place . I wouldn’t let my pet stay there ! Needs to be shut down ! They will steal your social security money ! Drained a deceased mans account ! And are still collecting his social security !

This place is not of God!!! They might call it the house of Mercy but it really should be called the house of jealousy and envy. This is not a shelter! I repeat this is not a shelter! They will tell you that themselves. This is just a house with beds for people to sleep in. They do not care about the well being of the people. It is ran by overweight 300 pound women who sit around a lie and gossip on the people of the house. If they don’t like you for any reason, being your to pretty, if you complain about anything they ask you to do it doesn’t matter they don’t care. If you say something wrong and they don’t like they will kick you out. The owner will curse you out with no problem and tell you to leave. They don’t allow you to work for the first 30 days you can’t leave the property for the first 5 days you are there. You can’t have a cell phone and they do not help you find resources to better yourself. This is exactly like being in jail. You get up when they say and you have to do whatever they tell you. They will force you to clean the entire building and if you complain you get kicked out that simple! They kicked me and a 50 year old woman out on the streets and made up lies to get us out because we became friends and we were pretty and they didn’t like us. It’s like being in a cult. Women must wear dresses and men ties. It’s there way or the highway literally! This is not the place to come if you want to actually get help!

Too many requirements need to stay there. Some made no sense. Possibly have bedbugs or so I was told. Check it closely.

One of their employees was driving white truck this morning and kept running all over the road. I tried to get away and they ran me off the road twice! This is unacceptable. Your employees are either drunk or screwing around. Either way this place needs to get control over who drives the vehicles. Date this happened is 3/21/20 around 7:30 am. Driver was on Manchester heading towards harris county and the truck got off on county line road exit. I saw the label on the side of the truck as you were coming into my lane and pushed me off the road.

The people in this place are awful. They are always trying to bring you down and talk so low about you. Almost every person in this house has nothing better to do then start drama n try to bring you down to your lowest point in life! They go to church then walk out the church n act so evil. They make up the worst thing about you. The things that the house is trying to do is amazing but they need to get alot of the people out of there.

Everytime I call theyre at full capacity but 2 3 beds be available daily smmfh.

I went to drop off a donation and was disgusted by the amount of junk around the building. There were several mattress that had stains and mildew spots. There were dozens of cats laying around and some had fleas. I walked in and no one was at the front desk. Another person came to pick some one up and couldnt get in. We had to bang on the door for several minutes. It seemed like we were being interrogated as opposed to being greeted and helped. The man didnt come off friendly at all. It was an interesting experience.

I stayed in this place in 1993. I see it hasnt changed a bit. It was a dump then and still is. The Harris family are evil people probably getting rich off the government financial contributions. They get off on being able to control disadvantaged people. The shelter should be called the house of Satan.

Good place for homeless to go for clothing

Im a guy, I say stay away if your homeless! Go to a better state! Place Reeks Been there to donate a game system all the items was messy and organize might as well visit the dump house

I have never stayed at THOM, but I have actually heard the director yell and talk down to the residents. Really making them feel worse than on the street. And if you see it now, it makes you think why do people still donate there. It have been raining for three days and for the past 3 weeks she have allowed all the clothes, furniture and whatever else to get wet.

This is the worst place ever . If your homeless go somewhere eles this place is full of mold. The owners is very rude , she told me that she takes care of me and my family doesnt care abuot becouse if they did i woudnt be homeless.i had to call cops on her just to get my things.

I have lived here... Many years ago.. My daughter was about 1 1/2 years old at the time.. Shes 10 now.. Anyways, it was horrible... Rats everywhere... Women an children had to live upstairs right across from the men... Food was horrible.. When i finally got foodstamps... I stopped eating their food.. Which, they intentionally sabotaged 2 times... 3rd time i was able to make my appointment and got approved for foodstamps.. We werent allowed to have cellphones... So i had to keep mine hidden.. Also, werent allowed to have your car parked there.. So anyone with a car would have to Park it far away.. I actually remember a young mother and child came in, asking for a place to sleep.. She had a job and a car... And they would not let her stay there if she wouldnt quit her job and get rid of her car and cellphone... Like who tf does that... Their fake security guard is actually just another resident living there.. They have no real security.. Forced to go to church.. Forced to wear dresses.. They dont help you get a job or proper clothes for job interviews.. This place needs to be shut down permanently.. Alot of the grown men and women without kids are there bc they are addicts.. Its so disgusting.. Ill never forget my horrible experience.. Oh and let me not forget my daughter kept getting staph infections on her butt from that nasty horrible floor of theirs

Bed bugs and they wont tell you. You cant leave the house for the first 30 days. The women are on locked down while the men gets to run around the building freely. Its not ran the correct way. Men is been housed With women and children. You must wear dresses and skirts which means you are advertising for the men and they require you To have a background check done for what. Plus there is no heat in the building..... I so wish I could of gave negative rates cuz thats what they need to improve the services that they offering to clients... I wish people who take these type of job would really do right by the clients no one wonts to be homeless but it happens and they are looking for a leg up not to be held down.

The lady in charge is very rude and the furniture had roaches in it and it was all wet. I was starting out with nothing and she made me feel horrible like I was a piece of garbage for asking her for help
