So the extent of my interaction was finding a nice looking property for a reasonable price. I tried to schedule a viewing online and it was credit card info to schedule. Ive done this before and absolutely never had to provide card information for any purpose other than i was ready to pay application fees. I dont know if it is or not but that simple detail sreams scam to me.

As a tenant that signed a lease with a private landlord, we were transitioned to RL after a year and a half of renting. I was disappointed to say the least... they have improperly charged me on several occasions and now are charging tenants for maintenance. this company is not only unresponsive but have no problem solving ability when it comes to unhappy tenants. I’ve had several maintenance issues that I chose to not even address and fix on my own because of how difficult these people are to work with. My most memorable instance was when a pipe burst beneath my sink on a Friday morning and no one contacted me before business closed for the day. Calling the emergency maintenance line is a waste of time as the only deem “active leaks, and no heat in the winter” as emergencies. My elderly neighbor who shares our double, has had a hot water tank issue for over 6 weeks and no response to him on that. They don’t ever answer their phones and take their time getting back to you on important issues. Overall, RL does not value the fact that they are housing people and what that means. Do not rent their properties if you’re a tenant, and avoid using this company if you are a property owner. There are better property management companies in Columbus that are willing to fulfill your tenants’ needs without question.

I was referred to RL Property from a trusted friend. I contacted RL in June 2020 to get my mother-in-laws house listed with RL and the process has been positive. I have been working with Lauren Begley and she has been amazing to work with and her response has been prompt and professional.

I have been renting property through RL Management for a little over month. Initially there were some hiccups due to my property being a new product for them. But in hindsight a lot of the items were out of their control to some extent. I will say through all my frustration, Amy the manager I think, stayed quite calm and diplomatic. She honestly did try all she could to resolve issues. I had a few minor maintenance requests and they were handled extremely well. Both tech were professional and really nice.Communication is very easy through their easy to use app or I also find I get an IRL response within 24 hours of an email on average.so far all is well andI recommend this company.

Nice looking houses, but the company took forever to return any of my calls or messages. Didn’t end up living with them due to slow service.

Ive rented through them for a little over a year now and it has been the worst experience Ive ever had. During the pandemic they sent me to eviction court for unpaid fees and I wasnt even behind on my rent. In January 2021 they started a mandatory $27.00 a month tenant benefit package that includes rental insurance, access to online portal, inspections that include furnace filter and smoke detector battery replacement, and a 24/7 maintenance hotline. Even though I pay for the package every month theyve still been adding a $25.00 fee for noncompliance of rental insurance. My advice to anyone who decides to rent from this agency is to keep a close eye on your account and all charges they give you. They are crooks and will take you for every penny they can.

When youre renting you definitely want to feel like you are important and I feel like RL Property Management has done that. They have always been quick to respond to any of our service requests and recognize the impact strain that it may be putting on us. Its great to have the online tenant portal so you can reach out anytime when needed, plus its easy to make your monthly payments. The office staff has been kind and professional. Overall its been a really good experience.

They did a very good job of advertising my property for rent and they secured for me good tenants. The income from the rental unit comes to me promptly and they are prompt to respond to my concerns as well as to the concerns of my tenant. Peter is hard as nails but sharp. I own one rental property and managed it myself for a couple years. I turned to RL and have been with them for about 4.5 years. Overall I think RL does a good job. They have a nice web portal and promptly respond to emails or phone calls. They are always willing to talk about issues and fully explain everything they do. They take decent care of the property and have found good stable tenants so far (2 in 5 years). I try to do annual walk-throughs to see how things are first-hand. Its not perfect but overall good experiences and reasonable people. Ive grown to really trust them.

Instead of treating my roommate, and I as two individuals, and expecting two notices to vacate the unit, they assumed my notice was for the both us. At least this is a learning opportunity for the company to not assume things, and perhaps ask more questions. I look forward to hearing from them! Once they answer their phone..This group took over the townhouse I was living in a month before I moved out. My roommate signed a new lease, and found a new tenant to take my place, while I gave this company a 30 day notice to move out. They’re withholding my security deposit, and continue to contact me as if I’m still the current resident. My family and I eventually called RL Property asking them to explain, further in detail, why I was not receiving my portion of the security deposit, but the conversation only went in circles with them repeating the same nonsense. It’s a new company with a completely new lease, and it does not make sense why they have my deposit when I’m no longer there. I know very little information on joint leases, but if you’re able to do separate contracts for one unit then I would definitely try to negotiate that option.

RL Property does a great job turning your property quickly for re-rental. They are attentive to not only the landlord, but also the renter. Thats important because they are essentially a customer. You dont want a management company without great customer service. It makes both experience pleasant.

We have lived in a RL Property for 4 plus years. Generally our requests for attention for repair etc is handled in good time, and if not, there is a logical reason for delay. The office staff have been professional and considerate.We receive adequate notice if anyone plans to enter the house.

I was able to get online easy set up and account etc. When it came to new lease I had several questions which were answered in a timely manner via over the phone and email before I decided to sign. The repair order process has also been fine. The guy was professional answered all my questions and did the job he came to do. Right now i am satisfied with the company and I hope i can be going forward.

Rl property was basically my landlord i been staying in this house for 2 years they never contacted me to let me know that my property was brought and i would have a new landlord i would pay my rent to. Thank god the new landlord came by to introduce himself i was hectic because i thought he was a scam turns out he’s not! This company needs to learn how to communicate better with there tenants/ previous tenants to let them know there not managing there property/unit anymore. I guess it’s because he FIRED RL Property they felt they didn’t have to reach out to me to let me know, but what if i still sent you guys $750 i would be very upset. I wouldn’t recommend them for this poor Communication

I moved in May 23rd and it was everything I wanted on my house hunt list. The hardwood floors are nice the upstairs carpeting is all new, the lighting fixtures are nice to look at. The appliances are in good shape. Basement is huge. I’m on the end so my back patio is peaceful and nice although it would be nice if I had another private fenced up on the other side, and I love the blinds on the patio sliding doors great choice. Everything was freshly done as if you had just moved into a brand new apartment and the 3rd bedroom is perfect for my daughter. I’m glad I made this move, and the price is right for so much to offer.!Mercedes

I do not understand this company. I really dont like to complain, but this company is pushing all my buttons. I was a property owner in 2019, I was unhappy with my previous property management company, so I thought I would give RL a chance. Things did not work out with RL , and I got tired of being a rental property owner and sold. I will not get into all the details of what I did not like about the property management because I sold in the middle of 2019, and I was just willing to let things go. Now I am trying to do my taxes. RL has not sent me my 1099, and are claiming that the revenue report is all I need. Every thing I read online says a property management company must send me 1099 misc for the IRS. Every thing I read says a property management company must send something by 1/31. It is now 2/12, and all I have received is a revenue statement. I have not received a 1099, and Peter claimed they mailed it out at the end of January 2020. I was not going to leave this review if I had received a 1099 as the law seems to mandate.

I have rented from RL Property management for five years. The staff is very friendly and service requests are always handled in a timely manner. This past summer when my AC was out they even brought window units to use until the service man could repair it.

We absolutely love our house! This company has been great to work with. We can pay rent online which is super convenient. They provided us with all the information for utilities so I didnt have to do any calling around. We also received an email not long after moving in letting us know about trash & recycling days and other helpful information. Moving can be hectic but this was a very smooth transition into our new home!

R&L has managed my rental properties for several years and Im very pleased with their services. Along with the monthly reports they send out, its easy to log-in to see even more detail about each repair, etc, if desired. If a property needs extensive work done, they provide plenty of photos documenting the problem and try to offer more than one repair option. Peter and Adam both respond quickly to any inquiries I have (there havent been many) and are serious about doing a good, professional job and growing their business.

Painless move-in process, was able to get everything in order and processed in a few days. Some slight confusion on what exactly was owed before I moved in, especially because it was the middle of the month, but not a huge deal. Unit was almost perfectly cleaned as well.

RLPMG was a blessing to my family until we decided to move from their property. Not only did they try to inflate and lie about charges, but they tried to lie about our lease. I tried calling and emailing Diana and all the other people who work for them. They are all rude and unprofessional. The only person who was pleasant to me was Tiffany. The others answered my emails when they felt like it and NEVER answered my calls. I asked for proof of their charges and never received them! I may soon consult a lawyer for their lies and the discrimination I have faced with this company. They have stolen my security deposit and tried to inflate charges so I wouldn’t get my money back. I have rented multiple times and have always gotten my full deposit. I took great care of their property and made sure to clean the place throughly before we moved out. Beware that their reviews are paid for too by the way! I will not be silenced or continue to let people be clueless when renting from this snake of a company!

We paid BIG money to live in one of the houses and we are treated horrible. I dont know of its because we are a mixed family or what the deal is. The Management never is willing to help. Wayne on their maintenance team is rude and never will be anything more then a rude grumpy guy working the shop. We had a water leak and it took 3 hours to get support. We have pilling paint chips from the cabinets and Wayne said that was at is. ..first off when did Wayne become a leasing agent??We did our walk through and sent an Email with the issues and nothing is getting done.The walls have been fixed so many times there are soft spots all over the place you cant even hang anything. This has been the worst experience Ive ever had and I hope it gets better soon. And I hope Wayne never comes back to this house because he scared my wife and kids. And to think we are the paying customer . .
