The staff complained about cancel culture and Colin Kaepernick for the entire 30 minutes I was in the shop. I can only assume this is the norm for the business. If I owned a small business near a diverse population like a military post I would ensure my employees create a more professional environment. Maintaining an apolitical stanceOnto the actual haircut. The end result was actually quite good. Looks better than the other barbers around. Unfortunately they did slash the mole behind my ear while shaving.I give it 2 stars because of the quality of the end product.

Potbelly guy with gray hair and beard said to me, “I won’t be able to cut your hair.” This was in response to me asking about spraying clipper with sanitary spray. He deflected by saying “you aren’t too clear about how you want your hair cut.” So if you like sanitation, this might not be for you.

If you love to gamble on how good your haircut is this is the place. Had two haircuts here. First was bad, but decided to go back and give it another shot. Walked out with one that was even worse than the first. I didnt have enough faith in the barber to tell her to fix it (considering it seemed like she spent more time trying to comb my over hair to the side to hide that she didnt know what she was doing than actually cutting), so I left and got someone else to fix it.

No wait time. Went in for a high skin fade but ended up with an uneven high and tight...worst hair cut I havent had for years...not recommended unless you are out of options. BTW, its cash only...

I can not recommend this shop enough! I have taken all 3 of my boys in for haircuts several times. No waiting and quick haircuts. Each time they had a different barber for each of them and every haircut turned out fantastic. But what’s more impressive about this shop is Ron, the owner. He is a super nice guy and will go above and beyond to make sure his customers are happy, I have witnessed this first hand and his genuine kindness has made us customers for life.

They listen to you as you say how you want hair cut. Too many places just cut as they see fit. Friendly staff with a fast paced business.

Every barber there does great haircuts. You dont need an appointment. Hardly ever have to wait to get my hair cut and when I do have to wait its not very long at all. They are usually busy on Sundays but the wait is still not very long since they have 12 barbers working that day. The price for a haircut is very fair especially compared to other barber shops in Columbus.

Brandon K. is the best. He does all four of my boys hair. It took us years to find a good barber for the boys and HE IS THE ONE 😀. One of my boys has autism and Brandon is so good with him. Can not recommend him enough.

Take my Grandson there for his hair cuts , tried a few of them and they were all good but once Richard did his hair that was the best. He talks to him always friendly and greets us when we walk in always wait for his chair to come available. Never had a bad barber just very impressed with Richard. Great with a young boy.

I have never had a bad cut in the 25+ times I come to Ranger Joes Barber Shop. I usually come down here for a nicer cut for a military graduation or photo and I cant say Ive had a bad experience. You do, however, need to strategically plan your visit, otherwise you can expect a wait (go around 10am or between 1pm-3pm for the least wait). The only reason I will not give this place 5 stars is because they only take cash, no checks or credit/debit, which makes it a little more inconvenient for those who never carry cash. There is an ATM across the parking lot though, to help ease that constraint. I recommend this place for anyone about to graduate from a course or taking your DA Photo, they are excellent at the military fade.

Friendly staff and not a long wait period.

This first time I went there it was decent, it looked like I only got a clean up though. The second time was probably one of the worst cuts I’ve had in my life. Left the sides too long and uneven, but hid it so I wouldn’t be able to see until I got home.

Anthony was and is great, but Brandon is quickly learning what the modern soldier needs. Hopefully Anthony can mentor Brandon and pass the torch rather than trying to catch him aflame.. The kid shows promise.

The only place in town I have found that can cut my sons hair right. No missed spots or stray hairs and at a reasonable price. But not all stylists/barbers are equal. Choose wisely.

Ive gotten a great haircut every time. You rarely have to wait, but when you do its very strange. They use the honor system instead of using pull numbers. Its great seeing people insist that you go first to get a haircut instead of trying to cut in front of you.

Great barbershop. One of the only places around that shaves (with an actual razor, not the electric trimmer) the side of your head for high and tight haircuts (old school). Costs a couple of dollars more than AAFES barbershop, but its worth it.

Id give Zero if I could. By far the most inconsistent barbershop there is. You can go one week get a decent cut , go again and come out botched. Seriously save your self the heart ache and spend the extra money to go elsewhere.

My husband has had 3 hair cuts here. Two were great and the last one (by someone he hadnt seen before) wasnt done right. Since it was the back of his head and he couldnt see it I went back inside with him to show the lady where it needed to be fixed. She said it was faded so its fine. Ive seen 7 years of military hair cuts at twice a month on him and never seen it messed up like that. The line in the back wasnt even. Looked like a poorly done batman wing back there! Two spots had noticeably longer hair where it wasnt shaved close enough. Were looking for a new place to go. ***9/8/2017 he decided to go back today and try again, now he has an aqua wave line on the back of his head :O he said hes never going back again.

Only barber for me is Anthony. Have used him for 10+ years. Cuts a good flattop just have to remind him not to bring it in (wider is better) because he mostly does military cuts( high & tight).

Friendly employees and usually about 8 barbers working at a time. Only downside is they take cash only (but theres an ATM right outside). This is my 2nd favorite barbershop, my 1st is on the Alabama side.

I give this place a 4. It would be a 5 if they didn’t use cheap razors and if they had a number system for when it gets busy. When you ask for a razor shave they use cheap razors and when I run my finger across where they shaved I still feel the hair. Other than that, they cut hair well. However, you need to find the right barber for you. Most of the barbers that work there cut hair very well.As of the number system, for how long this place has been open I am surprised that they still haven’t figured out that they need a number system. Customers get very irritated when they have been waiting for a while and they don’t know who they are after and end up cutting other customers.

Terrible haircuts. Took my little boy, the older man wrecked my sons hair. The lady that cut my hair seemed more interested in her phone or the conversation with the gal next to her than in giving me a good haircut. The old guy blamed my son for moving to much, my kids been getting haircuts for years and never had an issue until this place. Will not ever come here again.

You want a MANS hair cut. This is the place. AWESOME cut. I drive 50+ miles to get my hair cut here. Love it.

I went there yesterday and asked for a medium skin fade with nothing taken off the top. I ended up with nearly a Mohawk. I have only one narrow strip of hair left on my head and even that has holes shaven into it. I will definitely never go back to this place.

Came in for a haircut for the first time, older gentleman in the back cut my hair and he did an OUTSTANDING job I cant for the life of me remember his name but id request him again definitely.

I went in for a medium fade and I got tore up. The man with the pot belly on the left did the worst job. He unevenly cut my bangs, the fade isnt blended, he left a whole section of long hairs in the middle of my short side part...the list goes on. I do not recommend this place to any man looking to have a quality fade.

The lady with the front station to the left (as you walk in) was very friendly. Two different ladies (station front right and back right as you walk in) cut my boys hair. I would NOT recommend them. My boys fades are not even and when I called I was told they can do fades and shaping. I dont know about the other barbers but the two ladies who cut my boys hair cant do either. I am looking for another shop and barber who can do proper fades.

Got a haircut here and was clearly not happy about it. It was uneven and right before a friends wedding. The barber didnt even care that I was unhappy with it and other barbers were actually laughing at the whole situation

I have had a good haircut here, then two bad haircuts here. I guess it depends on whos working. Something about the way Southerners do stuff. Even haircuts. ($10 high and tight). Sometimes its not high or tight though.

Needs a better way to keep track for who is next for busy hours. Otherwise fenominal place.

Always a good haircut at Rons. Friendly sociable barbers. Straight razor or safety razors clean-up around the ears and back of the neck. Vacumn attached barber clippers. Bring your younguns and have their heads trimmed up too. Kids always enjoy the dum-dum lollipops.
