I’ve been taking my R53 MINI Cooper S to Best Motor Werks for the last 3 years, since I bought it. John, Anson and Anthony are fantastic. They are exceptionally thorough and will give you honest assessments of what needs to be repaired and what can wait. They never try to “upsell” you on services and repairs you don’t need. They use high quality OEM parts in their repairs, and do the job right the first time and stand by their work. It may cost a little more than some other shops as a result, but you get the best service and it is still significantly less costly than the dealer. They have been great to me, and I wouldn’t take my MINI anywhere else.

Best Motor Werks is great. They’ve worked on my BMWs and my Mini. Very knowledgeable. Very friendly and they always put the repair in perspective. Sometimes maintenance makes more sense than replacement. Kudos to John and his team!

This is the only BMW repair shop for me. Their work and professionalism is next to none, They are very courteous and professional the work that they do is always top notch. Service is OUTSTANDING!I have been there 3 times since my warranties are now done on my 2014 Mini S and I want dont need to go to the local Mini dealer since I found Best Motor Werks.Great detailed diagnostics, clearly telling me what needs to be done and when. All work completed on time and done right! Cost is very reasonable and it is so nice to give a local small business my money. John Best (owner) is really knowledgeable, nice, and honest. Anthony is great too. Very detailed explanations, gives options, and ideas. What a pleasure!This last visit was amazing! Check engine light on and his tech diagnosed it as an emission valve (NVLD), but did not fix it. Instead, John made me aware it is a know problem and there is an extended warranty by Mini and I should take it to the Mini dealer. WOW - his honesty saved me $400-$500.Illl be back!!

Moving from Germany, its hard to find a shop willing to work on modified BMWs like my 135i outside of the BMW Dealerships. I found this shop through the Cars and Coffee group in Columbus and was impressed. I spoke with Anthony at the front desk when making an appointment and he is very knowledgeable and passionate about what he does as well as the BMW technicians and mechanics. They give honest and professional feedback on what your car needs. I will only take my BMW here for any services until I leave Columbus.

I have always had a good experience at Best Motor Werks. With working on a BMW being so complicated, I feel comfortable having them work on my X3 since their technicians have years and years of experience. The best part is how honest they are. They do a full courtesy check when you come in and let you know what should be done soon and what can wait and how long it can wait for. I’m never worried about being told I have to have work done when I really don’t. As long as I have my X3, it will be serviced at Best Motor Werks!

Over the years Ive owned 5 BMWs, 3 of which are still in my possession. This is by far the most knowledgeable and honest BMW shop Ive found. If youre looking for second-rate patch jobs - find someone else. These guys will ensure that your car is safe and reliable. Got one of my cars running smoothly when another shop told me that the engine was shot. Best knew exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. True experts in an industry of shysters!

Great place. Helped me get my 1998 318ti back on the road. Previous owner started a manual swap and never finished it. Gave it to them and they had it running in under two days. So thankful that they were helpful. I can tell they have a passion for BMWs and Minis. Great to know they are in the area. I’ll recommend them to anyone I know.

Stay away! Best Motor Werks prioritizes maximizing profit over saving their customers money, facts follow:They diagnosed an issue and quoted the fix at ~$900 ($470 for parts and $430 for labor). I found a genuine OEM part online for $130 less than their quote but they refused to install because they need to make money on parts and service. They agreed to install a non-OEM performance part for 0.75 hrs extra labor. I found a part for $180 (versus $470) but when I brought it in they refused to install because “it was a cheap Chinese part.”They tried to charge me $900 for a job that cost $310 to repair at another shop to increase their profit! I found another shop in Columbus that installed the part for $140 in labor (1 hour instead of 3.75 hours!!!) saving me ~70%!!! Skip this shop and go elsewhere!Response: I agree with your order of priority that profit comes first and customers come third!

This is the second time to Best Motor Werks, the first was for an oil change.They replaced the front brake rotors, pads and sensor, cleaned wheel hubs and lubed contact surfaces and did burnishing.I am very happy with the service they provided, it was excellent and the brakes are outstanding.Thank you bb

Literally every single BMW Ive even considered buying has gone in for a Pre-Purchase Inspection. My cars go in every year for a checkup even when they arent misbehaving. Every problem I HAVE encountered across four different cars has been fixed either in my garage or in his.His inspections are absolutely the most thorough and detailed Ive ever seen. After taking my pickup truck to a dealership hoping for something similar, I was rudely reminded of how subpar other service centers can be and how spoiled these guys have made me.The guys are beyond professional, theyre friendly and honest. Theyre car guys. Theyll gladly tell you what NEEDS done and what can safely be deferred. They dont throw parts at problems they dont understand at the customers expense. They absolutely seem to care as much as you do about keeping your car happy, healthy, and on the road.If you want to KNOW the work has been done right, these guys are the only real choice in Columbus.

I don’t live in Ohio nor have I been to this place of business but I have spoke with the employees there, Anthony..who is by far the rudest, degrading, arrogant person I have ever spoke too, he treats people like he’s better then him because he works at a “BMW SHOP” when in all actuality of it he takes advantage of his customers. Would not recommend this place!! I own a BMW I know how they work, he thought he could get one over on me because I am a female..WRONG!! Do not trust this place!!

Took my 2009 MINI in for numerous issues. They were courteous and professional and explained what needed to be done. They completed the repairs and my MINI runs like a champ. I will be using this shop from now on.

Saw your reply to my review. Yes I did hang up rather than listen to more of your con. You failed to mention that I paid thousands of dollars, for some work you performed poorly and some not at all. Before I realized the con job you pulled, I told someone else who is a black man like me about your business. They said you over charged them.

Ive told the front staff that my car had a DME problem and they asked me how do I know? I told them that I have the scanner. They told me that they have to diagnose the car to see. Ive told them that I have JB4 set up. Ive got a call and they told me that its a DME problem and charged me $141 diagnose fee and they wouldnt fix my car. They told that I have to google my self to get the DME fixed and thats it or I have to get brand new DME. Also, they disconnect the JB4 and never connected back. They never told me that they disconnect the JB4 completely . I had reinstall JB4 by myself theough watching a youtube. Since they charged for the diagnose fee and its the same symptoms that Ive already told them, they couldve at least tell me where I can get the DME fixed. They straight told me to GOOGLE it yourself! Not professional at all! You can tell whos unprofessional by the appearance as soon as you walk in.

I am a fairly new BMW owner and have now had my car at Best Motor Werks twice. Being very unfamiliar with European cars, I was concerned in who I could find to trust. John and his crew are some of the most customer-focused people you will ever meet. Whether Im calling for advice about my car over the phone or I need to take my car in to get checked, they have always been incredibly helpful. I will always use Best Motor Werks for my BMW and I would recommend them to anyone with needs for their BMW or Mini.

These folks have always been straight with me and done a great job maintaining my Mini. When we thought it had a cracked head gasket Anthony and John were great at communicating exactly what needed done, why it needed done and how much it would cost. When there was a chance the repair would cost more than the Mini was worth John was very clear about it. Theyre a little out of the way for me since I dont live in Columbus but Ill never take my Cooper to anyone else.

John and Anson are the best at what they do. I have a highly modified MINI that the dealer just cant understand. Best Motor Werks does get it. They find and fix issues quickly and charge rates that are affordable. If you have a MINI I highly recommend Best Motor Werks.

I just had some more work done on my 525i and as always the work was done promptly, efficiently, and with care. They continue to do work that is as good or better than the dealerships and local repair shops.Best is the Best. Honest work, fair prices, and optimized repairs so you do not do what doesnt need to be done now. Unconditionally recommend.

Ive taken my BMW to John several times and have always had a great experience. I do most of the work on my car myself, but have had them run diagnostics for me several times. John has always been very respectful of the fact that Im planning to do the work myself, and always goes above and beyond to make sure that Im ordering the correct parts, giving me various options to choose from and takes the time to explain any differences between them. Hes even helped me receive a refund from AAA when they gave me the wrong size battery for my car. If there is ever work that I cant do myself I would go straight to Best Motor Werks, and recommend them to anyone I know who has a BMW or Mini Cooper in the area.

Ive been using Best Motor Werks for my 2008 Mini Cooper S for over 3-years now. John always provides upfront detail about any coming repairs without pressure to complete on that same visit. When I had major over haul on turbo, Anson made sure it was done right. (yes- the mechanic does actually talk with customers, unlike most dealerships) The quotes are fair and always under dealership estimates. This is the BEST place ! And, I will continue to bring my Mini Cooper S here for as long as I own it - just hit 194,000 miles...with goal of 300,000 miles :)

First time customer at Best Motor Werks...left my newly purchased 2003 BMW with John and Anson for about a week and a half while they worked on it. John always kept me updated, called to get the OK on what he suggested needed to be taken care of....he is very honest and even suggested I do NOT do several things at this time. I have a 9 yr old BMW..and its still in top shape.. Thanks to John and Anson. There was one time where they analysed the issue incorrectly and the problem came back again. They were honest about it and admitted their miss... I like to deal with honest people.. And therefore I will have no second thoughts in coming back to them again. They did the fix in no time in the fastest way possible without charging me extra. What gives me more confidence is the people who come to this place for service, or call John on phone for advice. John is patient and promptly gives quick feedback to your problem.

John has been working on my cars for years, and I should have left this review long ago. He does what Kelly and MAG do, but he generally does it better and always does it cheaper. I know for a fact Ive saved thousands of dollars having John do work for me, as I generally always get a price quote from the other guys just to see how over-priced they often are.If you enjoy the courtesy cars and Starbucks coffee so much that you dont mind losing lots of money (and often replacing functioning parts), then please continue to visit the Stealerships. On the other hand, if you want your car repaired for a fair price and enjoy being told like it is, go and visit John and friends...--JH

Amazing and honest work, will prioritize what you should do in what order, and very helpful if you have questions. Same quality as the stealership but less $.

John does do good work, but when comparing prices I found he likes to mark up parts and quotes higher labor time than what is actually needed. After you get Johns quote, get one from All Hours automotive (ask for Justin) as well--I have a BMW M5 that needed a new clutch/flywheel and clutch sensor...John quoted me a range of $5,000-6,000 at 10 hours of labor. All hours just completed the work for $3000. They charged me true time of 7.5 hours, allowed me to purchase the parts at true retail cost ($2200parts $800 Labor)and completed the job in 1 1/2 days. Best Motor Werks would NOT allow me to purchase the parts, and was obviously marking them up and would have had the car there for a week. Check Bimmerforums before agreeing to price as you will get a good sense as to what others are paying for the same repair. I think John creates his prices against what the BMW stealership would charge, so it appears that you are getting a fair price when in reality you can get so much better if you shop around.

John and Anson continue to be my go-to shop for both of my MINIs. They run their shop with integrity, and have always explained each issue clearly - providing options for getting things squared away.
