Great properties and sure I’ll be around for a while due to the amazing staff and beautiful properties. If there’s one specific reason I’ll continue living on a Hometeam Property, it’s because of Ashley. She was our leasing agent and was the most professional, helpful and kind person to deal with. She explained everything to us and was very patient. Even months after signing, she’s the one I ask and email regarding any urgent matters. She’s very knowledgeable and the most helpful person I’ve dealt with.

Extremely horrible experience.Upon move in, my 6 bedroom house was not cleaned at all. Dust, mold, hair, dirt, and everything you can imagine covered the place. There were even dirty dishes left in the dishwasher from previous tenants and a tooth brush in the bathroom.Hometeam left us about 15 keys scattered in a random drawer - 2 of which worked for my property. We then had to go and make copies of the keys ourselves because apparently they couldnt provide all 6 tenants with working keys.Maintenance is a nightmare. Out front door would not open or close and it took 2.5 weeks to get fixed. I called every single day and was either hung up on or promised someone would show up when they did not. They have refused to replace our fridge, which doesnt fit in the appropriate fridge slot in our house because someone clearly failed to measure the width. Our current fridge therefore must sit in the center of our tiny kitchen.Do not rent from here.

The move-in process was straightforward, very easy for key pickup and parking passes. Hometeam was very friendly and willing to provide any assistance and answer questions. There were a few things missing, but reporting to maintenance is easy and simple. Upon move in they provided a move in kit with some great discounts and items like a 5-gallon bucket, a plunger, some toilet paper, paper towels, and water bottles. Good experience!

Hometeam Properties made my daughters move in process as smooth as possible. They took care of any noticeable issues immediately. Everyone is so helpful and resourceful. 2 employees in particular were superstars (Maria and Ashley). I could not compliment Maria and Ashley enough for the excellent service they provided us . They responded promptly to any request that I had with the utmost professionalism and always delivered outstanding service.Maria and Ashley and the rest of the Hometeam Properties team is one of the major reasons we would rent one of their properties again.

Completely uncooperative, fully profit driven and committed to screwing tenants over. Have no respect for tenants and refuse to fulfill maintenance requests in a timely manner. They also do not inform you if they enter your apartment when you are not there. They refuse to answer phone calls and have never responded to any of my emails. Will lie to you about apartment standards and which apartment you will recieve. Their entire company is built on lies and scams. Literally any other company would be better to rent with.

Hometeam Properties is the 3rd campus housing company I’ve used, & they are by far the best. They were on top of it: sending weekly reminders when move-in time was closing in, responsive to questions/emails/etc. They even provided me with a starter kit (plunger, toilet paper, paper towels, hair snake, & water) when I picked up my keys! If you’re a student in the Columbus area, I highly recommend going through this company. They will help you every step of the way!

Move in process went smooth and was easy to proceed with! However, outside of the actual move in, I find that sometimes working with Hometeam can be a bit of a hassle. For example, our mailbox keys weren’t given to us at move in, and it’s been days since i’ve both filed a maintenance report and called the leasing office and have yet to receive my keys or even hear back about the keys. The attitude of the team is hit or miss, which is understandable with such a stressful job, but not something easy to work with. The move in team was very nice when giving us the move in bag and such though

Overall move in was a smooth experience. However, I was told that on move in day I would have a washer and dryer in my unit but those were not there when I moved in. I informed hometeam of this and they said they could put in the washer and dryer but would have to run a new water line which could be done in a few days at the earliest. This has not been done yet but I am hopeful that it will be done soon. This is very inconvenient because I have to leave an area completely open so that the new water line can be run and washer and dryer installed which prevents me from fully moving in for at least at few days. In addition, I was told I would have to move in a week later than I would have liked to so that the washer and dryer could be installed. Hopefully this issue will be resolved but until then, 2 stars is the best review I can give.

This company has showed over and over how incompetent, unprofessional, and undeserving they are to be your leasing company. My experience started after I decided to lease from them. They sent a leasing agreement that had different utility terms from the what their representative had given me. When I called, an associate had explained they fired that person because he had lied to multiple people about a utilities package that didnt exist. However, they didnt contact any of the people he had given this guarantee to. That was the first red flag.On another occasion this company tried to charge me $250 to repair a window that was reported broken in my unit. My unit was vacant during this time and when I started to ask questions about who reported it and to see photographic evidence of a broken window, they could provide none. They subsequently dropped the charge, mostly because they had not proof of a broken window and I threatened to get Student Legal Services at OSU involved. Finally today I called their office, 30 days after my move-out and when I should be expecting the return of my security deposit. I kindly asked to speak with their accounting department and the woman at the front desk berated me, continually cut me off, and rudely transferred me before I could respond. Now I dont believe everyone at this company is bad, Ashley a leasing agent, has gone above and beyond for me and I truly appreciate her. However, I believe management here creates a terrible culture that creates all the situations I outlined above. I would highly recommend you look elsewhere.

We signed a lease for a home near Capital University with 3 other people on the promise that Hometeam Properties would be finishing the basement to add additional bedrooms. Hometeam did not do that and we opted out of the lease with everyone signing to release us from the lease. Hometeam deducted $575 from my checking account based on this lease. I asked for a refund back of that money as my son was released from this lease. But the man I spoke with was very rude about the whole situation. He hung up on me before I was done talking. I called back and when he answered, I asked for his name and to speak to a manager. He refused to give his name or let me talk to a manager because he said I would just lie about him and our conversation. Very very unprofessional!!

Upon moving in Home Team was missing two of our room keys. They said to check around the apartment thinking previous tenants left them there, however, they are not here. I have called several times about getting new ones and still have not received a call back. Additionally, our tour guide Riley told me that pet fees would be waived for my service dog in training and failed to mention any restrictions on the size of pets allowed. After signing the lease and upon trying to move in I was informed that the fees would not be waived and there were size restrictions, contrary to what we were told. As a volunteer trainer for a non-profit, having to pay hundreds of dollars of pet fees greatly affects whether or not I can continue training dogs for children with disabilities. Each time my roommates and I have called with questions regarding maintenance, move-in, etc. we are met with an attitude and have been hung up on numerous times. Our apartment was filthy upon moving in, there were holes in the walls, a large crack running down the entire window, a large panel of fabric ripped off of our couch, and our AC was not running so it was 84 degrees until maintenance came. James L came the same day our maintenance request was filled out and was very nice and helpful. Overall I am disappointed in the poor communication and customer service and with the condition of the apartment.

Hometeam Properties was a decent company to rent from. If I have any criticism it’s that there are seemingly arbitrary increases in rent and additional charges added between leases without improvements in service. For example, surrounding studios were receiving dishwashers and laundry appliances, which might have warranted rent increases but I received no such upgrades and still faced massive increases. My rent started at $465 and has increased to $600 despite the previous point. There also is a gradually worsening issue with parking for guests as the city tries to squeeze as much as they can from college students. With that in mind, there are definitely worse land lords and Hometeam’s staff is very friendly.

A majority of the people here have been kind, but I do think that’s because I’ve done all I can to keep them happy and be someone they never have to think about. We’ve dealt with rude employees and consistent issues that, even after multiple complaints from my roommate or I, never seem to get any better. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt because it is moving season and I’m sure they’re all very busy, but it is hard to look past some of these behaviors after reading all of the negative reviews here. Its been a week and we already know we will never lease through this company again. Our actual apartment has been nice, which was a relief after hearing some horror stories about apartments in poor condition. The communication is slow and poor, but so far our issues have at least been addressed. None of them fixed, though. My roommate and I are nervous about personal conflicts with specific employees however, after a handful of very negative interactions. Some of which involving employees being overly ‘comfortable’ with us. We’ve attempted to reach out to management about these issues but were either lied to completely or straight up ignored. Everything is on their schedule with zero regard for you individually. I could understand a company this big moving through issues mechanically, but our experiences so far make it seem more personal than that - in a bad way. They aren’t just not getting to your request/ issue/ whatever because they’re busy, it’s because you’ve made them mad and they want to flex their power over you. I’m hoping to mend some of these conflicts, since its so early in the lease, but it seems as though that’s a one sided thought. At this point i’m just trying to keep them from retaliating. Maybe thats just me reading too much into these reviews, but again, so far every negative review has had at least a shred of truth to them in my one week experience.

My experience with Hometeam Properties has been excellent. Having had many issues with my former property group last year, my friend suggested that I try Hometeam, as he had a good experience with them last year. From communicating with Hometeam representatives and viewing apartments, to the move-in process altogether, I have been more than satisfied with Hometeam’s professionalism and responsiveness all along the way. When I went to Hometeam’s office on move-in day to get my keys, they gave me a bag full of gifts and coupons for local restaurants—a great way for people to learn more about Columbus’s University District. While I do not have any photos of my apartment when we first moved in last week, I was very happy with how clean the place was. The walls had also been freshly painted recently, which I was happy to see as well. Ultimately, I have zero complaints regarding my experience with Hometeam or the move-in process, and I will most likely be renting from them again next year.

I lived in a Hometeam managed apartment for 3 years while in school, and I had a wonderful experience. I had an AMAZING apartment with minimal issues which were always resolved within a day or two. I also cannot speak highly enough about the staff in the office. In particular, I had a logistical issue with a move that I needed a lot of help and support with, and Maria Evans as well as Ashley Scalf at Hometeam went absolutely **above and beyond** to help me figure it out. I took up a lot of their time and attention but nobody ever made me feel bad; they were always willing to trouble-shoot with me despite what I am sure is a very demanding schedule with dozens of other people calling and emailing at the same time. They were truly wonderful, personable, professional, helpful and just all around great, as is everyone else in the office. Hometeam is very responsive about issues and I would rent with them again if I were ever to move back to the area.

HomeTeam, where does one even begin. I have lived in my apartment with my three roommates for 1 month and 3 days now. HomeTeam has been the most unresponsive, unkind and unprofessional leasing office in every way, shape, and form.Beginning from move in day, the front porch and deck which we had been shown and promised, was completely knocked down. Now, only rubble with caution tape surrounding it. Paying full rent and not being able to receive all of the benefits of a real home. 1 month and 3 days later, we still have no porch or deck, when promised money off our rent if it wasnt done by the last day of August...you can probably assume, we did not get.Maintenance will not come out unless you physically go into the office and express your concerns because they apparently are only getting to serious requests at all times. We were also promised money of our August rent due to four maintenance men coming in and using our electricity, but they seemed to have forgotten, although they sent us messages saying they WOULD reimburse us. So many things are not up to code and most staff will hangup on you if you have a pressing concern or question.Lastly, a huge issue we have been having for the last month and 3 days is we have no mailbox and the mail we should have received is missing....The post office has told us multiple times HomeTeam should have our documents and medication but, they dont. When I have called and expressed my concern about getting a mailbox multiple times, they have ignored me.I would strongly advise to NOT sign with HomeTeam due to their lack of respect, consideration and timeliness for any project or issue. Good luck and Go Bucks..

Hometeam has a lot to work on, but they still have been a good company to lease with. We had several issues at the beginning of this year with responsiveness and poor maintenance/cleaning. Among other things, they didn’t give us our mail key upon moving in and it took two weeks and multiple voicemails to get one. There was further miscommunication within Hometeam which lead to our mail lock being changed after we finally got our key. However! Hometeam has been much better with all of this recently and my experiences these last few months have been pleasant with decent responsiveness, quick and quality maintenance, and kind staff. I can tell they’re working on it and are trying to make do with difficulties due to COVID. We recently got the opportunity to work with Maria who is absolutely fabulous. She was helpful and made sure that our unit didn’t have unresolved issues. If Hometeam can hire/train more people like her, they’re sure to be so much better off in the future! I have not even moved into the property yet and have already had multiple issues with hometeam. When scheduling move-in times, my roommates and I sent multiple emails verifying who was going to pick up the keys. However, any emails we received back were incoherent and made no sense. When we called to try to fix this issue we were met with rude remarks and short tempers and were asked “why is this so hard for you” when they were the ones continuously confusing our move in time. I recently helped my roommate move-in and the property was filthy with numerous holes in the walls, torn couches, broken AC, and unfinished paint jobs. Additionally when we went to pick up our keys, 2 of the room keys were missing and their solution was for us to look for them ourselves. After we did search the apartment, my roommate tried calling them about it and they still have not found them or given us replacements. Overall, Hometeam is severely overpriced for the quality of their living spaces and have terrible customer service.

STAY AWAY!! Hometeam leasing agents lie and make it sound to good to be true. I’ve caught them in my apartment on my security camera without notice they just come on in. During move in I was told construction was done on my building. 4 months later at 8am Monday-Saturday hammering and banging for months on end even during exam week. The contractors take all the spots in the lot and will even block you in not caring. I’ve called, left voice, even stopped in to the office yet nothing you will just get bounced around doing nothing about Amit. On top of this “new renovated unit” it came with a plugged brand new shower day one and not cleaned at all. I got kicked out of the payment portal and then lost the check I gave to them at the front desk. Don’t let the new units fool you they fall apart faster then they were put together. If you valve your money and quality of living live else where! Hometeam doesn’t have respect or give privacy to the tenants.

I have lived with Hometeam for three years and the quality has gone progressively downhill. Last night Hometeam tenants sharing a unit in the building got into a physical altercation in which guns were drawn on the front lawn. I called Hometeam to see if they could talk to the tenants or if I could file some sort of complaint to try to stop this from happening again and they told me there was nothing they can do. Utilities aren’t included, but I’ve found the windows provide so much light that my electricity bill is super low! Overall, this group is easy to rent from with little hassle.

If they have a problem with something you have 24 hours to fix it or get charged. If you have a problem they’ll get to it when and if they feel like it. Leave a mess every time they come to fix something, we have to clean after the maintenance team. They also told me to come pick up my key when I moved in, I showed up and they told me they had no idea what I was talking about. They also randomly placed parking blocks in our parking lot and put one under my roommates car they had to Uber to work and then move the block when they got home.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. We leased a house from Hometeam from 2019- 2020. Upon moving in the house was not cleaned, painted, or fixed. There was mold all over the fridge, dead rats on the floor and a disgusting smell in every room. Instead of accommodating us, Hometeam sent maintainence to rush painting the house and clean the area. Their staff is unqualified and do not care at all. My gf also leased from them and when their house was broken into Hometeam came and changed the locks without any prior notice with no one home and left their doors unlocked for hours until someone eventually returned home. They were just robbed and hometeam left the doors wide open. How oblivious can they be??

New tenant, we had a string of issues with appliances not working and small problems that we wanted fixed after moving in. I was impressed by the responsiveness of the maintenance team at fixing all these quickly!!!

Have been a previous tenant of hometeam properties, I can say that it was easily one of the best rental services I’ve ever received! Not only are they quick and responsive, but they are actually enthusiastic and personal about showing you spaces and extending a helping. This is huge when you’re helping someone find a place to call home so that went quite far for me! Maintenance rocks as well. If I could give 6 stars, I would!

Went to the main office to get some help to fix our heater. Only the receptionist was any help at all. 2 of the employees walked in without masks, and one of them proceeded to start chugging a Smirnoff Ice (at 3pm on a Wednesday??).Update: Heat has since been fixed with better responsiveness than usual, have upped my score by one star, may further update in future

This is just a poor experience. The apartment is really nice and maintenance is quick. He was also super nice and we talked about dogs the whole time - but I just can’t recommend this leasing company. They listed the property as $700, when I was done touring they told me it was actually $850. It was pretty nice so I signed the lease because they said it was also free parking and free laundry. The leasing agent claimed to not know where the laundry was so I couldn’t go see it. So I move in, everything goes smoothly except they forgot the mail key and I needed to get parking pass. But shortly after moving I was informed the parking pass for the parking lot out back is $450 per year to park there. The laundry is actually coin operated and the basement its in is from a horror film. Also I was hoping to not have to move for a while, I’m tired of moving - but I was hoping to live with my boyfriend in a year and found out that they don’t charge per room. They charge per person, so that $850 turns into $650 each...changing the rent to $1,300 essentially. I also was met with suuuuuper poor customer service when I finally went into the office. It’s conflicting because the apartment is great, and I love it, but I just cannot stand this company as they lied on multiple occasions and with the parking situation I can basically never have guests without paying for parking. It’s unfortunate that this company bought up so many properties on campus. Also the person we signed the lease with no longer works there as of recent, so we can’t even confirm what we were told. However there is a sign out front indicating free parking and free laundry which is a blatant lie. I’ll most likely have to move - the laundry is disgusting and the parking lot for tenants is way too expensive, you also can’t have guests park there because the permit has to be registered to the lease holder. I can’t even apply for a pass for my boyfriend who helps me everyday with my pets unless I wait for a cut off and then pay the massive parking permit cost.Update: they said I cannot apply for a parking permit for my boyfriend or family at all. After being here 3 weeks things are beginning to fall apart and maintenance is slow. They dont actually give you warning when they will be entering your apartment which Im pretty sure is illegal. We had one show up no warning. Then three weeks later they showed up again to fix the same issues and the warning we got was that they would come to fix the one of 3 work orders between september 1st and 4th between the hours of 9am - 5pm.

Communication has been poor at best with none of our maintenance requests being attended to for over a month. Also lied to about parking when showed the complex originally. Not to mention there have been mice in my room eating my food! Wish I could give it 0 stars, would recommend any other company

Its very clear that Hometeam has created fake google accounts with only one review each to boost their rating and push down genuine 1-star reviews. This is characteristic of the dishonest behavior you will experience with Hometeam as a tenant. If youre considering renting from this company, do yourself a favor and read some of the 1-star reviews here, which will give you a clear idea of what renting from this company is like.

A very unprofessional and bad company. It took hometeam over a month to fix the lock to the front door of my apartment putting everyone in my apartment at risk. They increased the rent to my apartment, despite it already being overpriced. Maintenance requests took a long time to be fixed. Also, upon moving out, they deducted a completely made-up fee off of my security deposit.

If you wanted a company that embodied the valuable qualities of “unprofessional”, “incompetent” or “lazy”, look no more! You have found it within Hometeam Properties. Add a dash of “unreliable liars” and it’s a perfect storm of unfulfilled maintenance requests, where clear signs of an active water leak were plastered over ad infinitum without fixing the actual problem, and the actual smell of rot wafting up from your (padlocked, inaccessible basement) is not a real concern. Their emergency maintenance line is absolutely not useful at all, and the nice, pre-recorded robot will either 1. Send you straight to a recording machine, with directions to put in a maintenance order online, or 2. Direct you to another phone number that is not listed on their site, with directions to put in a maintenance order online. Then, once you’ve called the relevant number, you will be redirected by front staff to a maintenance line where they will promptly ignore your call and hang up on you.Not only that, but all the staff is clearly allergic to talking over the phone and would much prefer to notify you of changes in parking, sudden addendums of your lease, and of your showing in the next 12 hours via text, and with no reliable way to contact them back. How dare you want to contact them! That’s unacceptable. By no means should they be expected to interface with their tenants. Additionally, they will still show up at your unit without appropriate notice and be extremely unprofessional, huffy, and unpleasant when you deny access to the place you’re still paying to live in because you were not given appropriate notice. Once they have finished cavorting around their unit (because, as the tenant, you blatantly have no rights), they will leave all the doors unlocked. While all housemates are working. No, we did not receive any sort of acknowledgement about this mistake. It has been 5 weeks since we have received our deposit after they sent it TO the address we moved out of, despite us filling out the deposit form with the appropriate forwarding address. Know your rights, because they will cite “we have 30 BUSINESS days to send out your check”. Per Ohio revised code (Ohio Rev. Code Ann. § 5321.16(B)): “Any deduction from the security deposit shall be itemized and identified by the landlord in a written notice delivered to the tenant together with the amount due, within THIRTY DAYS after termination of the rental agreement and delivery of possession”. We love us some blatant misinterpretation of the law!I have heard nothing back regarding our deposit despite continual attempts on our end. Stay away from this place, for God’s sake.
