Takes forever to be helped. Expect 30+ minutes for the simplest requests. Their CEO makes $130,000+ per year according to their public tax returns. They also have lots of paid staff. They charge rescues that pull for fostering, but the fosters themselves volunteer for free. Granted, they help a huge number of animals, but so do a lot of other rescues that are volunteer only.

Pawmetto Lifeline provides great services to South Carolina. I have supported Pawmetto Lifeline for many years. You can make donations or shop in their store. There youll find great deals.Their services are very affordable. The staff is very knowledgeable, kind, and respectful towards the pet owners. They show sincere concern for our furry babies. This is a great place to adopt a pet, giving them a loving new home.

The staffs are extremely mean. They only treat us friendly when they know they can make profit on us. They are not allowing us to meet the kittens or puppies. They just suddenly turned hostile when they couldn’t contact the property to make sure the property was pet friendly. I will NEVER ever go to this place in my life again. I can’t believe why they can work in the animal shelter because they suppose to be kind to everyone and every pet. Again, these staffs are not caring about the customers at all. They only care about their profits.

Horrible experience. I had my cat on the waiting list for over a month and sent in all information requested of me and was told that as long as I could home her until X date- they would be able to take her and that she should be adopted out quickly- etc. etc.. So the date comes and I conveniently get the surprising news that they would not be able to take her and that I should adopt her out myself. ???!!! Talk about unprofessional and a complete waste of my time from start to finish. REALLY not impressed. Communication is key. There were multiple instances when I spoke with staff there BEFORE having waited for a month (or even any time during said month)- when this news could have been relayed to me.

Its very difficult at times to get anyone to help me. Im in a wheelchair with two dogs so it can be challenging. I have to park in the front of the main door of the building and go all the way around the sidewalk with my dogs to get to the onsite vet clinic on Friday and Saturday and their mobile van is always parked directly in front of the loading door so the sidewalk is usually blocked with boxes and or animal crates. I have to wait for someone to come move them or try pushing them off the sidewalk. Its ridiculous! Theyve gotten my dogs records so mixed up that they gave one of my dogs two rabies shots instead of each dog. I wont be going back there.

Went in to “browse” I guess with my little sister for a future birthday gift. I definitely understand the rules of having to have an application before even seeing any animal (again I guess ) but the lady I spoke with was slightly rude with the way she was informing me. Kinda felt like I was just being rushed out because they knew I didn’t plan on adopting the day of. Really disappointed even went back to ask further questions and was given little to no information except come back with her parent little does she know I pretty much play the parent role. Just wished she would of been more patient and tried to figure things out with me.

Im iffy about this place and Ill tell you why. We adopted our amazing puppy from here and whom we still have. When we first went to go get him, in the ad it said he was a female dog. I was like okay, I understand, people make mistakes. Honestly I couldnt be happier that he is a boy. However, there was an issue saying that he had ring worms and of course we wanted to get him treated right away---> we took him to our own vet and had him looked at. We did all of these washes and creams on him to find out he never had ring worm at all. Telling us he tested negative when pawmetto said he tested positive. Im not trying to trash this place because I believe in what they do. I love animals and have mad respect for anyone who helps rescue the broken ones. It just affected us because we had been so worried about him. He was so small when we first got him we were worried about everything. Now thankfully he has grown happy and healthy.

So sad they loose opportunities for dogs to get rescued and find homes. Instead being put down.

DO NOT ADOPT FROM HERE!! We were in the process of adopting a cute little guy for a companion for our other dog. They didn’t trust us enough to take our word about our current dog, so they insisted that they meet outside and in a safe place. We went for the meeting (which was inside the building and not outside like they had originally said) and it went perfect. Our dog corrected the pup telling him that she didn’t want to play anymore. The main behavior guy came and immediately said no to adopting him. He didn’t see them interact before and didn’t even see the correction. On top of that, this place doesn’t have a direct phone number, so if you are interested in talking to them, be ready to wait a few hours for them to finally decide to email back!

First off, This place does care about animals and the dog we adopted is the best. She was a foster and they made sure she was taken care of.However, I’m not sure if it is due to Covid or being short staffed, but every time we went it was absolute chaos. They day she was supposed to be spayed we went to the front office as instructed by an email. Someone tells us to go the side of the building. We go there and the tell us to go back up front. Then, we are told to go to the side of the building again. This should have taken 10 minutes but took about 45 minutes due to incompetence. During the spay they cut her nails and made them jagged and very sharp so we had to re trim. We also had a lot of issues with the staff not knowing what shots/medication she had already taken.I know the prices are very good but you do pay for the services you get. This place works fine as an adoption agency but as vet, not so much.

Update: After I write this review and told the truth, the staff working on the Prevention program finally contact me and complained about my negative review would impact their pet’s abilities to find a loving home! Come on! I am telling the truth! The one who impact the pet’s abilities to find a loving home is not me! Is the person who working in the shelter but never really concerned what the pets need!!!I don’t think they really concerned whether the pets can find a loving home or not, they care about is their business! Otherwise why I didn’t got any useful reply for 3 month and after I write a Google review, someone finally contacted me???Original:I am taking care of a cat for my friend now. The cat was adopted from Pawmetto Lifeline. My friend has set up auto-refill program for the cat’s prevention. However, when I tried to contact them to get the address update and get the prevention, I met a lot of trouble!!! I contacted them many many times!!! By phone, by email... No one answers the phone or response for the voice message. I can only get 1 replied email after I send 10 emails!!! It took me over 3 months to ask for the medicine!!! Can you believe that? Only a prevention!!! Is that difficult???So bad! And because my cat didn’t get the prevention in time, she has flea, which cause tapeworm, and she got diarrhea finally!!!My cat is sick now, while this situation could have been avoided if she had gotten her medicine in time!!!

Im honestly In the middle about this place. I was on the auto prescription program however I notice they stopped sending out my dogs medication. So I called up there and they said o it should be coming in a few days. It never happened, I sent a number of email which were never answered so I had to call my bank and had them take care of it then I when up there and showed proof of emails and no contact back then they were apologizing. A month ago they called me about the payment and off course I called them back of course they didnt respond or return my call. This weekend I was told a certain time to being my pet for vaccines, however upon arriving it was a huge debacle. I honestly think Im just going to start going to a regular vet for the better convince and at least they know how to answer and return calls. if you do choose to go here DONT ENROLL IN THE AUTO PRESCRIPTION PROGRAM, you are warned.

The communication from this facility is lacking. They never answer any of their phone lines. Everything is a leave a message and we will get back with you (or not). This is unacceptable when someones health of their animal and money is involved. I have had a negative experience with the mail to home medicine program. They were quick to withdraw money from my account, but negligent in making sure my pets medication arrived on time. Due to this negligence, my pet got roundworms. Then, in trying to contact about the situation, all I get are voicemails. Unacceptable! As much money as people donate, people pay for the adoptions and procedures and I am sure ample volunteers, there should be someone available in the departments to retrieve and field phone calls for immediate assistance. Call me old school, but answer the freaking phone already.

I also have been volunteering here for over four years and they are absolutely amazing. They have a great community cat program and have helped me with TNRing several feral/stray cats. I could tell you all day about the wonderful things PLL has done! I have first hand seen how amazing they have been and how much they have grown over the years. Now, of course every place has it’s ups and downs and it won’t always be 100% perfect in everyone’s eyes, so you just have to see for yourself. There are nay-sayers that will tell you of their bad experience, however most of the time it’s because they do not understand the mission or things to not go their way 100%. Things cannot be perfect, especially in the struggling non-profit world. But you have to keep going, keep supporting the animals, and keep learning! PLL has changed my life for the better. I have met so many new people, some are great and easy to get along with, others may give you trouble or seem like they have a bad attitude. But, at the end of the day we are all here to help and save cats and dogs! All photos below are my photos.

The staff was able to answer every question she had about him, provide as much as they could about his medical history and they were very honest and upfront about his past. He is the absolute sweetest dog and our whole family is in love with him. We make it a point to “drop by” her place everyday so my husband and I can see our sweet grand dog. They said the CEO had to do final approval and said she was busy upstairs with something urgent so told me to go home and they would give me a call. The guy at desk assured me the dog was not going anywhere and she would be mine. (Still haven’t met the dog). I told them I didn’t mind waiting because it was a long drive so he told me to look around. I waited an hour for another worker to come tell me the dog “cookie” has a bite history and was no longer a good fit for me and my grandfather. I told him I was interested in “sugar” not “ cookie” and he said “well sugar is no good with older men” so I told him I lived with my grandmother not grandfather...and he said she still isn’t a good match. I asked if my grandmother could come meet her anyway and we can see for ourselves and he told me no and that I can adopt any other dog. I left upset because my grandmother was pretty set on this specific dog, and they seemed to have left out the bite history until the last minute. I feel as though the dog was already adopted out and they used this as an excuse waisting my time. Sugar was no where to be found when looking in the kennels. And I was never even offered a chance to meet her.
