Gracie Barra Columbia brings a world-class Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program to central Missouri. Professor Mario and coaches are excellent teachers of “The Gentle Art”. From my perspective, adult classes were safe and fun. I learned lots.

Fantastic facility. Coach Austin is phenomenal with the children! My son is one of the smallest in the class and he (they) make sure to place him with someone that will accommodate his size and skill. My wife and I are so pleased with the level of care Coach Austin (and others) expresses with the kids. She often jokes to me that watching Coach Austin with the kids makes her ovaries awaken! *Warnings to all husbands out there! Unless you’re ready to have that talk again with your wife about more kids! Don’t let her watch Austin! 😆 only kidding ha ha. He’s great! You can trust that the entire staff has your child’s well being and interest as a top priority.

This is our first experience putting our son in a group sport/activity and Gracie Barra has been so wonderful! He is 4 and we weren’t really sure what to expect but they have gone above and beyond what we could have imagined. The facility is always clean and the professors and coaches are always inviting and do a great job at teaching all the different ages in the ways they need to comprehend it. I enjoyed watching my son so much I even signed myself up for the adult classes! Give this place a shot, you won’t regret it!!

My daughter is loving being a Gracie Barra member! She is learning the skills needed to protect herself and it’s helping with her confidence. We love the structure of the class and the professionalism of all the professors/coaches! We highly recommend this program for boys and girls!

All of these other reviews hit the nail on the head. I have never been more impressed by a group of people than I am with the staff at Gracie Barra Columbia. Everyone is so incredibly kind, friendly, and inviting. They treat everyone who walks through their doors like family.

This is my favorite of all the Gracie locations. I love the open mindset the staff have for peoples different reasons for joining. Clean facilities, very respectful and fun people to work with.

Professor Mario and the entire GB Columbia team are simply fantastic. A wonderful group of individuals who care tremendously about their students and their craft. A true honor to be a part of this team.

My kids have been training here for the past 2 months and cant speak highly enough. The Coaches/Professor are great working with kids and redirecting energy. Their ability has improved greatly over this time and hope to have years ahead. Classes arent crowded and there is lots of individual instruction. Great people to learn with.

My kids attend the school in the 4-6 y/o class. The whole Gracie Barra Team is amazing working with kids and specifically teaching them how to deal with bullies and not becoming bullies themselves. Professor Mario is a great role model and positive reinforcement style instructor. The coaches, Coach Oly, Coach Austin, and Coach Katie have a level of patience Ive never seen before when trying to coach 10-20 6 yos. My kids are truly blessed to have found this school.I also began classes in the adult program and primarily attend the 12-1p class, it has been a wonderful workout and stress reliever. The other students are wonderful and all work together to grow and improve as a family. Again, the staff focuses on the mastering the basics and meeting you at your level to help move you better than you were the day before. Great family and looking forward to years to come.

Top notch instructors in a top notch facility. I’ve been training jiu jitsu in various gyms through the year and the guys at Gracie Barra Columbia are some of the best in missouri, they’re highly skilled, they are extremely welcoming, friendly, and they’re great teachers. It truly feels like a team where everyone wants to assist each other in completion of their goals on the mats. If you are looking to learn self defense or just need a fun way to exercise while learning a new skill and building confidence and character then you’d be doing yourself a disservice if you didn’t stop into Gracie Barra and at least try that first free class.

Gracie Barra Columbia is a fantastic BJJ gym. Top notch instructors and excellent ownership. I enjoy every single class I attend.

Our family loves Gracie Barra Columbia! The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, the coaches are excellent, and the classes are a blast. We’ve tried other Jiu-Jitsu places in town and they just don’t compare to Gracie Barra. Their motto “Jiu-Jitsu for everyone” is so true! We started by signing one kiddo up, and now the whole family does it!

Friendly staff that helps you learn and grow confidence in yourself. They work with you to accomplish your goals.

If you haven’t been out to the como or jeff location, do so. My son is in their little champions class and absolutely loves it. It has taught him so much. We love our Gracie Barra jefferson city location. The coaches and staff are great people.

My kiddos (6 & 8) have had the best experience learning Jiu Jitsu at GBJJ in CoMo. They have so much fun, have met many new friends, and continue to enjoy learning self defense skills.

Ill admit, starting jiu-jitsu initially seemed extremely intimidating. Once I met Professor Mario, Coach Oly, Coach Katie, Coach Austin and the other students... I immediately felt so much more comfortable. They did such a great job easing me into the different techniques and movements. I love the respectful, motivating, and team-oriented environment!

Took my three kids Monday night. This place was extremely professional and accessible. There was a male and female instructor, please look to be in their 20s or 30s, and I was extremely impressed with both of their abilities working with young children. We had just taken our kids to another free promotional Jiu-Jitsu class in town the night before, which actually made our youngest one watching in the audience start crying because she was so scared of them yelling at our kids! The kids did not want to do Jiu Jitsu after that class. After this class, however, all three kids were so enthusiastic they were asking as we walked out the door if we could come back tomorrow and if we would be doing jiu-jitsu here. It should be noted that as we were leaving there was a another class of adults starting, so apparently theyre good with grown-ups as well. Very impressed. Good job guys!

Professor Mario has made a welcoming and fun environment to learn in. The team feeling is very evident from your first class. Could not recommend this school more.
