Our daughter has been taking classes twice a week for 2 months now and absolutely loves going. The instructors do an incredible job with the kids. They balance the perfect amount of patience, structure, and challenge. Cant say enough good things from our experience.

The instructors at Deep Waters are the true standard of martial artists. This school is full of practitioners with many years of experience. There are several black belts that train there who have created an incredible environment and team atmosphere that’s welcoming to people from all walks of life. I can not say enough good things about this place. There are two things I can promise for anyone who begins training at Deep Waters:1. You will get really good at Jiujitsu.2. You will make a lot of awesome friends.

We have been a part of many Jiu-jitsu gyms over the last 7 years ( military family) and Deep Waters is one of the best! They are friendly, welcoming, and extremely knowledgeable.

Sometimes I laugh, sometimes I cry and sometimes I cry some more. but I love this place and keep coming back, day in and day out. There are tons of class options throughout the day... a great Jiu Jitsu learning environment for all ages.

Both adult and child classes are excellent! Very welcoming environment for anyone looking to train.

While writing this, I am taking a temporary break from BJJ, but this school is definitely worth looking into. They have a good mix of programs and can teach students at any skill level. I came in knowing very little and they were very patient and eager to help me learn. Nothing but praise of them!

Deep Waters is one of the best martial arts gyms ive ever trained at. Ive been to a ton. The coaches are LEGIT and knowledgeable. Give them a go asap.

I am here on vacation from Outer banks, NC. Emailed the gym ahead of time and got a very friendly and welcoming response to come on in when I was in town. I dropped into the open mat from 9-11 got there about 10 o clock. Was greeted right away and set up with a waiver, and was able to get right to rolling. Long story short, this gym was very welcoming, friendly, and a great place to gain some experience. There were no egos, no aggressive rolls or people ripping subs. I got a chance to roll with almost everyone there, they were also helpful in teaching me what they got me with and how it was set up. Over all amazing group of individuals, military and prior military, helpful and high energy with a great family atmosphere. I definitely recommend training here if you are in the Columbia area. I will definitely be back as soon as possible.

Great gym. Super cool people. Even though this is a more established gym with a good percentage of higher ranking students, they treat newcomers very well. Top notch professor as well.

Short visit for a couple of weeks from Australia. This place was super inviting and welcoming. Since I was working, I just did the beginners classes and these were good, nice warm up, good basics. Hope I can visit again.

Great place everyone is really welcoming in both the adult and kids class

I had an amazing time here. The group of people at the open mat I went to were all stellar. They were extremely down to earth not to mention they had a had full of black belts along with a handful of brown with some purple blue and white sprinkled in... point being I walked away learning a few new chokes and a new found interest in the Russian tie.So in closing this is a solid group in a clean facility with a very welcoming attitude... if you’re in the area this is a must.

Im a purple belt from out of town. I stopped in for a drop in visit and they welcomed me to train. There was no ego in the entire gym. The BJJ instruction was high quality, and the people were friendly and welcoming. Great place to train.

Deep Waters JJ is the number one spot to learn the sport. My family and I joined back in August of last year and immediately we were welcomed with open arms. You dont have to worry about the amount of experience you have when coming. There is a lot of people that are experienced on all different levels that are willing to help you. Come check us out.

Today was the first day EVER for me to try Jiu Jitsu. I went to the 5 am class. Daniel, the instructor was incredible and the group of people that were in the class were great and extremely welcoming. They were super helpful as clearly I didn’t know what the heck I was doing but by the end of it I was having a blast and sweating my face off. I have a Crossfit background but this was completely different than anything I’ve ever done. I’ll be back this week for another round. If you’ve never done it I suggest starting here. I don’t have anything to compare this particular gym/studio to but I know I won’t be looking any further it was such a great experience.

By far one of the most welcoming places I have EVER been to. Every single person here is amicable and great to spar with. The two hours of open mat was extremely rewarding because no one goes easy, but no one goes all out unless you request it. I learned from every person here and will recommend training here too anyone serious about jiujitsu. Thank you to everyone here for making my training, experience, and stay in Columbus that much richer.

I came in once as a guest and was really pleased with the respect and variety of training practiced at this gym. Looking forward to training at Deep Waters again in the future.

I was visiting Columbia SC and decided to train. I choosed Deep Waters Jiu Jitsu because it was the closest to the place I was at that day. Now if I will be at another part of the city I will come and train this place again. I am really happy I met these people. Very legit coaches, super friendly vibes , good training partners. If you looking for the place to train I would recomend Deep Waters. Oss3stripe brown belt BJJ.
