I have referred many clients to Congruent over the years for a variety of services. As a therapist myself, I trust this program to do great work.

TL;DRTerrible backdoor billing system leaves you in the dark about charges and account standingThis is a review of their billing services and not of the actual health service provided. My therapist has been good so far but I have to cancel and find a different provider due to their complicated and unintuitive billing system. They send a bill that I can only view once so if I open the link by accident its gone. Subsequent bills contain some previous charges, but without access to past billing statements I have no idea what is new or existing, and what is past due. To this day I dont know what my account standing is since I havent received a billing notice from them in a while. I would like see what my charges are and pay for them, but their system expects you to pay an arbitrary amount without providing an actual balance, or timeline/history of billing services to keep track of.

Very professional wonderful staff, we had a very wonderful counselor Katie Downes. The DBT program was very successful in creating a less frightened less angry person with good coping skills . My hats off to you all! Mark Donovan you are a creative caring man but you have to change the wall paint : )

The only reason Im giving this place two stars is because they managed to fix an issue they created without charging me further.I had two appointments with Congruent: one with Meghan, a therapist, on 9/22 and another with a med manager, Ms. Peroni, on 9/24.Meghan was flustered and more or less unprepared for the appointment, including putting me on hold for over 10 minutes so that she could, I assume, hand type out a safety promise, given my suicidal state. Im not sure why she didnt have this on hand immediately; Id think thats something a therapist would have ready and available for any serious situation.However, on 9/24, Ms. Peroni never showed for my 1pm appointment; I called the office at 1:09 and left a voicemail (as no one in this office seems capable of ever answering the phone) in regards to where my doctor was.I received no call back from the office at all. Period. Yet I get a bill yesterday charging me with the 9/24 missed appointment. I sent Kathy an email, making it very clear that I wouldnt be paying for an appointment in which I was present, prepared, and waiting for and the doctor was a no show. Thankfully, I had my call history for the day with Congruent; I added a screenshot of my call to the office with no reply.I cant recommend this place. I waited a week to hear back as to why Peroni never showed for my appointment, and never heard anything except that I supposedly owed them money. Dont bother; they never pick up the phone there and communication is non-existant.

Very cooperative, very supportive, Aaron Brager.I can’t say enough good things about Aaron Brager, and the establishment as a whole. The weight that has been crushing my soul has finally begun escaping me. I started therapy with Michael Derry over a year and a half ago. I met with him every week for over a whole year. He was always very attentive and genuinely seemed interested with me and my issues. He really helped me through some really strong OCD obsessive thoughts and walked me through some real hard times in my life. He also played a big role in my recovery from substance abuse and helped me find the Al-Anon recovery groups for other issues in my life. I contribute a big part of my mental health recovery to the tactics and tools Mike thought me over the years. His goal was to not only talk through my issues but develop a good tool kit for me to use so I could continue to recover. I owe a big deal of kudos to Mike and how he helped me start living a life of purpose and meaning. I would and have recommended Congruent and Mike himself to some of my friends as well. Overall I had a great experience with Mike and Congruent and know that they are there for me if I do need more support over the years!

An excellent, comfortable environment to seek help. Front Desk staff are friendly and organized when it comes to billing and scheduling/rescheduling appointments. After seeing Therapists throughout the years constantly suffering from the same issues, Congruents counselors were fantastic in understanding my individual needs to provide the necessary support and are always willing to go the extra mile to make sure I stay on the right path towards success and continue to grow! Congruent Counseling has gotten me to a point where I can look back a few years and see how far I have grown with their support and services. Thanks so much Congruent!!!

Im not sure where these negative reviews are from, but they could not be farther from what I have experienced. After years and more therapists than I can count, I met Mark Donovan and have seen him for 12 years. Hes great and CBT has changed my life for the better. Highly recommend him.

This place is AWFUL, especially Erin Fitzgerald. Not a safe place for people of color! Very unprofessional, unethical, inappropriate, and destructive services. Because of Erin’s negligence & disregard for human life I have been left on my own and placed even further at risk. ERIN seems to not care about people at all and completely oblivious to the fact that the people she serves are hurting and vulnerable. I came in needing to talk about my bad weekend and day and out of nowhere, I was told it was the end. After SHE told me we were going to work on things together and after SHE began a new treatment plan that had only been in place a week without even giving it any time to see if it could help, at a time when I needed help the most and a safe place where I could let everything out rather then give up, I am thrown out and reduced to nothing. The epitome of white PRIVILEGE. Walked in hoping things could get better, walked out in tears, feeling absolutely HOPELESS & convinced it is all over. These people couldnt care less if you live or die & they deserve ZERO stars for what they have done. Never trusting these services again! Go here if you want someone to make your mental health worse and kick you when you’re already down. If you want to stay alive, go somewhere else.

I have been seeing Mike Derry for several months and couldn’t be happier with the progress I have made. He helped me control my anxiety, which was causing me some pretty frequent and severe panic attacks. He worked very hard to identify and understand my problem, and to devise a plan to address my issues. Being new to therapy, I find the process fascinating and plan to continue on this path, although my original complaint resolved quickly.

Rachel Rentch in the Eldersburg office has helped me tremendously. She is compassionate, encouraging and warm. Rachel is a treasure trove of knowledge about trauma and how to move through it. I have and will continue to recommend her to anyone who is in pain and looking to make a change for themselves. Rachel is a gem.

Worst health care office I’ve ever encountered. Substandard operations at every level are not worth the hassle of getting care here. You have to call 10-12 times just to reach anyone and they will charge you for late cancellation when NO one EVER picks up the phone! This place should be closed down. Not a place for people trying to get well. I would give zero stars if I could. Absolutely terrible and unacceptable.

Not effective at all. Counterproductive and destructive even. Katie Downes set us back as a family unit, and years of therapy accomplished absolutely nothing in the home.

The billing department has been easy to work with, and my counselor has been very professional and helpful with everything.

Excellent hours especially if you work unconventional hours! GREAT staff!

I saw Kathy, the social worker. Shell be really insistent on that point because she values pedantic semantics over healthy conversation. I left my 2nd appt with her early after she not only spent the entire appt insisting that Im angry at everyone because I expressed anger towards one person. I trust no one because I expressed that bad experiences make me feel that many people out there are terrible. And I Dont stand up for myself enough because I expressed that I gauge the situation to determine if confronting a person is worth my time and that it is safe to do so. Oh, and this is after I told her that I DO stand up for myself frequently and I just dont do so with everyone because I was abused. She spent the entire appt victim blaming, speaking in absolutes (which is discouraged by all therapists) and when we complained to management her manager not only denied that she would do anything inappropriate, but recommended that I be thrown in the loony bin because I left angry and because I have a history of depression. Go here if you want someone to make your mental health worse within 2 sessions. This social worker has no business posing as a legitimate therapist and this business is irresponsible for keeping her on the payroll.

I called Congruent Counseling seeking services and though they accept my insurance (Tricare) I was turned away and offered no alternatives because I was told the few providers who accept my insurance are “too booked”.

I wish I could give less stars - my son was billed for services even though he called ahead and cancelled!
