My daughter enjoys her sessions with Sylvan. The staff is great. All of the other kids look engaged and happy to be there. Most importantly our daughter has made improvements after only 12 sessions.

I totally totally Love Sylvan!! My daughter has regained her confidence and absolutely enjoyed the program.She received tutoring the entire summer and never complained. Sylvan at Sandhills really helped out my child who was struggling with reading. The staff was professional and cared about his progress. They work with you on the cost and provide a military discount.

Everyone is very personable. In just a short period of time we have noticed our child make great strides.

Director Sandy is extremely incompetent. She does not return emails when their are issues. I was charged for services that my daughter never attended and I never signed a contract for a 30 days notice and having to make up sessions within the same month. I feel as if I was lied to. They sell and pressure you into spending a lot of money, you would have thought they would have ensure they had a signed contract by me prior to stating services.

My sister recently started going here. She really likes it! And looks forward to going.

Sylvan of Columbia has professional teachers who provide great tutoring and support to students of all ages. They also have the SAT/ACT prep. They provide homework support, Advanced Reading Skills, and Study Skills to students. The center provides services to students in grade K-12, as well as college students.

I attended Sylvan Learning Center a few years ago, I was apart of the reading program and the teachers and staff went beyond their ability too help me, my grades exceeded beyond expectations, and I made honor roll many times. Everyone is very welcoming, caring, and attentive. Highly highly highly recommend!

I have been working at Sylvan for the past three and one half years. The opportunity to assist students of all ages with their reading, research, writing, and homework is most rewarding for me as a retired teacher. This center is full of awesome, attentive teachers that are extremely knowledgeable and helpful to the student’s needs. The center director and director of education are very personable and ALWAYS willing to go the extra mile for the students and families. I attended the SAT program and the teachers were able to help me improve my score by over 200 points!! This gave me the qualifications needed for admittance to my desired college program. I can’t thank them enough!

At sylvan, tutoring is individual and specific for your students needs. Initially, Students take a placement test before they enroll, which identifies strengths and areas to improve. From there, every students plan is specific to what they need. The teachers are dedicated to the success of each student who walks in the door. Staff at the center monitor the students progress in each skill for each session closely. Finally, Parents meet with the staff frequently to discuss how their student is doing at the center and what changes are taking place at school and at home. The process is inclusive, individual, and targeted to help your student with the skills they need the most.

Ive had a great experience at Sylvans! Ive improved in my math skills and feel more confident in myself. At first I was nervous to go, but now I love going! I recommend Sylvans.

My granddaughter went to Sylvan with an issue in Math. We believe that she was intimidated by Math and as a result, she did not like it and therefore, she wasnt performing well. In fact, per Sylvans assessment, she was well below her grade level in Math. Well, after just a few short months in Sylvan, she improved so much that she was performing at her grade level. After completing the length of time that was recommended to us (6 months), she is now a straight A Math student and best of all, she LOVES MATH!!! Our family highly recommends Sylvan as a program that definitely works. The entire staff was personable, yet extremely professional. They genuinely care about the children and they ensure that each child is treated with dignity and respect. Such a great impression was left upon our family that even now, 4 months after my granddaughters completion, we still go by just to say hello.Sylvan Learning Center has definitely been one of the best investments weve made into our grandchilds life.

Sylvan Learning Center Tutoring is an awesome tool to strengthen a childs academic progress! My son went from getting 64s each quarter in his English Language Arts class to a 91 on his latest progress report for the fourth quarter. I also see a significant change in my sons confidence level in all of his courses, which has definitely increased since going to Sylvan. My grandson will be entering fourth grade. He has been attending Sylvan for three years. The tutoring he receives reinforces what he is learning in school. He enjoys his classes here. I have been working at Sylvan since 2007. I come back every summer to tutor because it is such a positive learning environment and I love the experience of teaching Sylvan students. The teachers here are energetic and devoted to the success of all the students. As a result, the students are able to develop great learning skills that provide them academic success.

There are many Sylvan Learning Centers in the Columbia area and I have found that this location is the best. The directors are knowledgeable and friendly and the tutors are top notch. This is the place to send your child if they need a little help or just to get ahead.

I have worked at this center for nearly five enjoyable years. The old saying that if you do something you love you will never work is true about this child centered learning environment.Everyone is committed to helping students learn and to helping teachers to develop in students the confidence and ability to succeed.While I primarily work with older students who need help with math, on some days a teacher will find him or herself in the proverbial one room school house as they help one student with pre-cqlculus, another student learn phonics, and another student work on an essay.If you are a teacher looking for a way to keep skills sharp during the summer or a parent looking for someone to help your child master the skills needed for academic success, this is the play to meet those needs.I recommend this Sylvan center highly.
