I was so impressed with this company. It was a Saturday evening when I noticed that the charging port on my portable hard drive was missing. Im a writer, a college professor, and very involved in my community. All of my data were on that drive and I panicked over whether I would be able to access and save the data. I called around to several places and was told that they would have to look at it; could make no guarantees; would have to charge a diagnostic fee; and/or have to keep the drive for about two weeks to figure out what was going on. I made one last call to That Computer Store because they were still open. Tony answered and immediately told me they could save the data by placing the inside of my drive into another cover. For just $21 and 15 minutes of my time I was on my way and extremely happy. I now know where to go if I have an issue with my computers and/or accessories. Everyone there was so nice and professional and the store is a wonderful environment with a gaming section. I plan to take my son there to check it out. Give them a try. You will not be disappointed.

I have been going to, and purchasing from this store for years. I recently purchased a custom built PC from them and have had nothing but good experiences with it. Even more recently I had some upgrades done to this PC. Not only were the upgrades completed in a timely manner, they were completed in a way that I did not lose any data off of my PC. I had no idea that this was even possible but the owner himself reached out to me and assured me that my data would be undisturbed.The customer service I have received over the years has been great. I have colleagues who also use their service and I have heard nothing but good things from them also. I would highly recommend this store to anyone looking for a new PC, looking to repair a PC, or just looking to upgrade.

I came in 30 minutes before closing which I hate to do but the gentleman jumped right on my issue, no hesitation. It was a simple fix but I know nothing about computers so I was extremely grateful. Just wanted to share my great experience bc they were great to me!

Unethical business. I paid $50.00 to diagnosis my 7 year old laptop in July 2021. I then paid an additional $176.00 to have the keyboard replaced. I noticed some of the keys were slightly sticking as soon as I brought the computer home. All keys were operable but the sticking keys impeded me from typing fluently. I brought the laptop back to TCS on a Wednesday to see if they could fix the problem. TCS contacted me the following day and told me that the new keyboard may not be under warranty since something had been spilled on it. I again explained to them that the keys were sticking from the day I picked up my laptop from them. They went on to explain that I would possibly have to purchase ANOTHER keyboard. This was unacceptable and I went to the TCS after work to pick up my laptop. TCS had my laptop for 1 DAY and now many of the keys are not working at all and the caps lock is permanently stuck on the on position. These keys WERE WORKING when I dropped it off at TCS the day before. My laptop is now inoperable since I have to shift for any lower case letters I type. TCS is now claiming that these keys must have shorted out due to the spill. Very fishy that these keys just happened to short out in the 24hrs that TCS had my laptop.Since TCS does not allow customers to email them, this is a he said/she said situation, and I have nothing in writing. I find it strange that a company that deals in technology does not have a way for customers to email them. My guess is they do not want customers who have a problem with them to have a paper trail.I am so disconcerted by the disreputable service I received from TCS that I will be requesting a credit card chargeback (which I have never done before) and have contacted the Better Business Bureau. PLEASE do not use this business if you are looking for your electronics to be repaired because in my case they did not repair my keyboard, they destroyed it.

Will go to this store for PC parts so long as I live in Columbia SC.Worth noting that they have a makers lab area that you can use with soldering irons, a 3D printer, and other tech supplies. I used it while working on an Arduino project. The staff helped a lot and have very reasonably priced parts in their inventory (especially considering its a brick and mortar store). I bought multiple microprocessors and sensors here.

Great people at this store especially Ben. Called up and they were able to provide a set of RAM for me for a good price. They were able to help get our server back up and running and I am thankful. Great experience and super helpful.Pricing is good as well. They build the tax into their costs so you pay for what you see. Can’t recommend this store enough.

Highly recommend! I had the guys at That Computer Store walk me through my first custom PC build early this year. They were extremely helpful, informative, and reasonably priced to boot! Theyve been very helpful with continued support on my computer and Ive never had any issues with the quality of service or friendliness of the staff.

I called in asked could a second vga card be installed on pc. He asked that I bring the pc in to review. After reviewing I didnt need a second vga card installed. The technician recommended a vdi to vga adapter. Tested and it resolved my issue. I was so ecstatic.Very knowledgeable and tested the system before I left to ensure it worked.I recommend that computer store for all computer and gaming needs. Prices are reasonable.

I have an old Dell Dimension 5100, and these folks have kept it going; in fact, Ill be going back soon to have it fixed again and swap out a CD-ROM drive! They are very knowledgeable and reasonably priced!

I am not what you call tech savy by a long run. I have been trying for a while to get anyone to look at my computer and help me. That has been a struggle for a while. My computer is 9 years old. I am a big fan of reviews and after my research I found That Computer Store had the best reviews and I found them to be helpful. I called and spoke with Steven and he helped me some on the phone and gave me a estimate of what he thought my issue might be. I brought my computer into their shop the same day. The person I spoke with looked at my computer briefly and was honest with the hard truth about my Apple computer. He said my comouter was very old and outdated and if my hard drive was not damage they could put in one last update and possible increase my memory. He asked for me to allow them two to three days to work on it. It took two days and I got a call from them saying my computer was ready and working. They manage to help diagnose over the phone and repair all within a couple of days and at a very affordable price. I picked up my computer from Brian and he went over some very helpful tips about what my next solution should be in a couple of years and what I can do to extend the life of my current computer. He even help me with my Nook tablet before I left. They never try to oversell me with products that I did not need. They gave excellent advice. When I got home and found I could not connect my wireless keyboard, I immediately called them after they closed and they still picked up the phone on their way out and helped me to reconnect my keyboard with their advice. WOW what great customer service! They never treated me like I was clueless about anything tech and instead try to educate me on how to understand my current technology. Very professional. I would give them my business any day and I highly recommend them. Guys you have a customer for life!

Excellent staff!!! very nice polite and knowledgeable. I know this is a computer store but They repaired my cars transmission control board. Which is pretty much a mother board in a computer and my car is shifting like new again. I recommend their services to everyone. *****

I emailed them at 10:20 something at night to see how much it would be to get my gaming computer looked at and repaired at their shop, they responded after I sent them an email in two minutes( which was really fast) and they said the initial diagnostic is 50$ which is really good for me since I am only a 17 year old kid

During a time where we must stay at home and many are working or doing school work from home, technology is an essential part of that. My computer stopped charging so at first I thought to take it to the Best Buy Geek squad.... well they are not looking at any computers at all. They told me I could just buy a new one.... very unhelpful. So I looked up computer service stores and found this place! I was so grateful to find a place that was open. They helped me fix the issue very fast, gave me some tips on what else to do if it happened again, and charged me very little. I was so thankful for this store and their employees during this stressful time. I will now only bring my computer here.

This store is beyond impressive. It has 2 parts the the store.The first part is all about PC Parts, repairs and services. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and offer a good selection of parts. If you do have them do work of your computer you can rest easy. They will be able to take care of the problem and get you a solution in a timely manner.The second part is where this store goes from great to astonishing! This part of the store is dedicated to warhammer 40k and a sizable PC gaming area. The 40k stock is on par if not better then most games Workshop stores I have visited. That on its own is an accomplishment. The table space is great for play. Plenty of tables with enough room to be comfortable. You can also find space to paint and build your models.If you need to find great computer services, a 40k store with a great selection or a PC Cafe with top notch rigs. This is your store. I cant recommend this place enough.

The staff here are incredibly knowledgeable, honest, and personable, their prices are either the same or lower than major brands like Best Buy, and they will keep you updated on every step of the process with whatever issue you may have. I cannot recommend them enough, and would say that they should be your first call with any and all computer issues in the Columbia SC area.

Made my gaming pc, but I use it for everything. Fixed various modern gaming systems, phones, and electronic accesories for me with no complaints. Cool 3d printing and laser etching services too! Great tabletop gaming community too. Lots of 40K, Sigmar, and traditional pen and paper gaming, especially Dungeons and Dragons and Shadowrun.

Awesome LGS and 3d printer wizards

At first glance personel seemed to personable and knowledgeable. I dropped my pc off for work and build 5 days ago but as of today ( 4th business day) I have yet to hear from them with a quote for the parts needed for the build. Guys it takes 2 min to call your customers with a status. Was told at drop off that they were a bit behind but they need to get their communications a bit better. Will revisit this review when the pc is built whenever that might be.Followup...finally got my build after a little more than another week. Chris did a great job identifying several faulty parts and the cable management in an older case that was not built with that in mind.. System has been running every thing I throw at it without a hiccup.. Like I said earlier the only issue I had was communications as to my build status. I did add a couple of led strips for that sexy look. Will definitely use them again if needed.

You know I was told this place has the best tacos in town and I tell you this, I was not disappointed. From the fresh made guacamole to the made in house corn tortilla chips and taco shells, this will be an event of a life time.Also they do a phenomenal job repairing computers. They have an amazing selection of various table top games including, Warhammer 40k and Xwing.Now that I think about it, I think I had that taco somewhere else .....

Unlike other stores, left and forgotten until they are needed again, this place is difficult to leave right away and certainly difficult to forget.When you step across the threshold, like Alice, you find yourself immersed in a wondrous land. A world that has no place for drab colors and cold corporate structure resulting from years of retail calculations and marketing research. You instead find a world of vivid color, born of imagination, a place of fun and excitement and wondrous things. You might even feel like youve walked into your own family room, expecting to see your kid sister nailing tricky guitar riffs on the big screen or your nephew fighting off the denizens of a floating city impacted by scientific research gone awry. You just know this is a place where you can relax and enjoy yourself.At the end of the day, the sun goes over the horizon indicating the time to depart is quickly approaching. The lights stay lit for a bit longer until that dreaded call goes out, Its time to close up shop. You reluctantly get up to leave, but Unlike Alice when she left that strange land, you step across the threshold knowing you will be back again.

Joined in on a launch party being held here a few months back (WoD) and my friends and I all agree that it was absolutely awesome. Wonderful atmosphere with staff that was more than willing to guarantee a successful evening. Strong computer builds, hard-to-find snacks and drinks (Bawls energy drinks, anyone?), a plethora of games to choose from, and reasonable rates. Highly recommend and will be going back!

This was a really fun experience. Even with some minor technical difficulties in the beginning I had a blast! Decent selection of games on the PCs. There are consoles to play as well! And if youre a fan of tabletop gaming they usually have aome very active people it seems. I would give this place a go! $4 for an hour, or $15 for the entire DAY! Would recommend this place over and over thanks to the hospitatlity of the employees and patrons!

They had excellent staff in person, but I dropped off my computer for an overheating problem, didnt have to order any parts, but it took a week. Also I received no updates until I called, received updates that entire day and then none after. When I got my computer back the keyboard wasnt put back in place properly and was lifted in the corner. Now I have to open it up and put it in place. I want to love this place so bad, but its hard when the service is sub par.

Just want to say a big thank you to that computer store and all its staff. Great people and a Great place to have fun.

Their store is a pillar within the Hobby and Geek community within the Irmo/Harbison area. Last year I was directed by Best Buy to this store to see if they could help my Macbook. Unfortunately they couldnt because milk had spilled onto it and it had completely fried everything inside. Nothing could be saved. I was thankful they were authorized to service Apple products so that I did not have to drive to Augusta or Charlotte or leave it at Best Buy and wait a week or two to find out the outcome. I was able to drive straight back to Best Buy to purchase a new Mac. I knew that I had been given a truthful answer and was very satisfied that they were knowledgable and knew my only alternative was to give up on the spilt milk one. They did everything while I waited and did not charge me one dime. Very good customer service, I have now referred several people to them.
