Upstairs A/V is a gem in the modern day where most only have the option of buying online or in overpriced big-box electronics stores run by unknowledgeable employees. I was suprised to find that the price I paid here for a Grado turntable cartridge was the same as the lowest price I found online. I noticed several other items were very well priced. I am always willing to pay an extra 10% or so when buying an item from a small business, but their competitive pricing is very much appreciated! They have a wide selection of aftermarket, inexpensive styli which is good for the laid back listener. They always have a small collection of used equipment and records which makes stopping by the store intermittently a fun experience. What matters most to me is the expertise of the employees in a small, specialized shop like this. My experience with Bobby was very positive and all of my audio related inquisitions were answered. I walked out with the items I wanted and with the knowledge I was hoping to gain. Go support Upstairs A/V!

I had finished a long period of online research and was looking to buy Magnepan speakers. I found out that upstairs audio is a dealer through the Magnepan website. I was debating getting a pair of LRS and when I saw a post on their facebook I knew what I had to do. I called and the person I talked to knew all about the Magnepan line and was offering a lot of information about the differences between all of the different models and the prices. I could tell he was very knowledgeable and was trying to guide me and make sure I had what I needed to run the LRS. Im more of an internet researcher and didnt need any kind of support, but I felt like if I knew absolutely nothing he would have really came through for me and helped me get started for sure. I ended up doing a curbside COVID-19 style transaction and he was very accommodating. I love the Magnepan LRS. I bought them blind without listening and was immediately thrilled when I heard them. Now months later after lots of experimenting with placement, the excitement I had when I first got them is still the same. I enjoy them every day. I run mine in a 2.1 setup with an 18in unported subwoofer that I built. Absolutely satisfying with any genre of music. Magnepans almost seem like magic. The holographic soundstage and the strong phantom center image is incredible. Also the beautiful timbre of the instruments that sounds incredibly realistic. Its like VR for sound. One day I will try some Magnpans higher up in the lineup and I know where I will get them!

Nice guys, prompt service. Got directly back to me with a possible diagnosis (from email), took it in and had it back in about a week. Amplifier sounds great and I like the hometown feel of the place.

Nice place, with some great audiophile quality gear at a price point for normal middle class folks. The owner and his employees are very knowledgeable, everyone in there has decades of experience. Far better than what Best Buy or Geek Squad can ever offer.

David was extremely informative, this is a true stereo shop. No pushy sales techniques and he was more than happy to let me hear speakers Im sure we both knew I couldnt afford. So glad I abandoned the internet and went to a real expert for guidance. David worked with me for over three hours until we found the right fit. I got exactly what I was looking for, drove straight home, set them up, and stayed up til 5:30 AM playing albums. Thanks David!

I have a Yamaha MX-800 power amplifier and an CX-800 Control Amplifier both purchased while stationed in Korea (Kunsan). Both play flawless today but the contol amp had shortages at the preout to power amp. Took it to Upstairs Audio and everything is playing fantastically. They took care of the problem in a timely manner and I am very satisfied customer. I recommend Upstairs Audio for all of your audio equipment needs/repairs....These guys are the best and easy on the pocket as well....

Dropped off a turntable for repair. Had to call after a week and a day for an update. Amazingly got a call back an hour later telling me the item was unrepairable. They asked if I wanted them to recycle it for me? I said no and when I picked it up, it looked like it had never been taken out of the original box, just like I left it. I was shocked, took my item and left. A few days later was talking to a friend. I asked if he knew anyone who could look at my turntable. He told me, dont bring it to Upstairs Audit. He wanted one looked at, charged him $70 and told him it was unrepairable. He felt like they never looked at it. He told me this before I told him my situation. Two random people, same story? Seems like a pattern.
