I skipped over them because three reviews equaling three stars was not a good deal. However, our fridge had been broken for three days and no one we called could schedule us today. I called East Appliance at the suggestion of a large appliance shop who thought they might be able to get to me sooner. When I spoke to Leon he told me he could be here within the hour. He arrived, less than an hour later, tools in hand and mask on his face. He worked around my refrigerator that is cramped into it’s slot and got it working. It was slightly less than I expected (I didn’t ask for a quote).I’m very pleased with Leon. He worked diligently, quietly, and cleaned up after himself. I wrote him a check, as he doesn’t take cards, and that was that.

I -strongly- advise against doing business with Leon and this business.I have had two experiences with this business. The first was out of necessity, as they were/are the only supplier for a part I needed for my dishwasher. They had the part, however after I showed up to purchase it, I had a shady experience. The clerk entered my debit card information, including security code, into a computer behind the counter. I assumed this was part of the purchase transaction, however after my card was returned I was instructed to go to the cashier to pay for the part. I asked why my debit card information was stored in their computer, and I received a rather poor explanation: Credit card information is retained in case a part is returned. I simply stated the obvious, that a receipt of payment is record of transaction, and asked to have my credit card information immediately deleted from their computer. they refused. I went to the cashier, paid for the part and then immediately called my bank and had my card re-issued with a new number. The business had the attitude that all customers are potentially fraudulent and that your debit card/credit card information was theirs to rightly retain without your consent. This situation was unacceptable.The second encounter I had was just today. My Realtor gave me a number for an appliance repair service and said I should speak with Leon. I called the number (unknown to me at the time that I was calling East Columbia Appliance) and spoke to Leon about a fault with my electric convection-top stove. Leon was rude, and pretty much refused to come out and even take a look at my stove. I asked several times if he was interested in helping with my repair, and he continued to insist I contact someone else.The customer service at this business is beyond poor, it is non-existent. Find an alternate vendor.

I have dealt with Leon and East Columbia Appliance for more that ten years . They arrive on time, they dont overcharge, and the repairs they perform have always been satisfactory.I prefer to pay in cash or by check when the repair is done, so I dont know how the process credit or debit cards.
