I needed an appointment for a out of state inspection to get my car registered in Maryland because I just moved here. Everywhere I called could not get me in at least 2 weeks out. I was done at LMT within one hour. Give them a call to get an appointment.Saw some chickens running around their parking lot, not sure if they were loose or their own but it was fun watching them while I was there.

I had my Class A motorhome worked on by Mark at LMT. Mark was very knowledgeable about RVs and was great to work with. He was easy to reach and called me several times to inform me of issues and progress. I was very happy to find this auto shop close to my home. I would highly recommend LMT and Mark for RV repairs.

Mark did an extremely thorough inspection of our recently purchased used RV and did an excellent diagnosis of needed repairs and completed all repairs timely and at a reasonable cost. Mark provided an invaluable and extremely thorough walk through training lesson on how to use all the systems of our motor home and how to use them at campgrounds. He was extremely patient and knowledgeable for us newbies. We are very appreciative! Mark is a true expert on all types of RVs/motor homes.

Excellent, fast, reliable service!I recently had an oil change at LMT Auto Repair and was very pleased with my service and turnaround time. A couple weeks following my oil change I had a dead car battery. I was very stressed about getting the battery replaced and not being without a vehicle for an extended period of time. I took my car back to LMT and they had my service done and a new battery in no time! It was such a relief to have a trustworthy shop take care of my car. I am thankful for the service they provided and would highly recommend them!

Have been going to LMT for 20 plus years. By far the best auto repair shop in Howard County. LMT is by far the best place in Columbia to get any vehicle serviced. They do as good a job if not better then the dealerships. It is small enough to get the personal treatment but big enough to be fast and professional. Needless to say, the prices are good as well. Since finding them, I take all my vehicles to LMT. Went in for inspection, ended up paying 305dollars. They claim front windows were darker than the back but now I dont have any proof since they removed it. They say the battery is misplaced. LOL charged 30 dollars. 3rd brake light bulb replacement 50 dollars. Just dont go there for inspection. I dont have good impression of Maryland inspection laws of which mechanics can easily take advantage. I will think it as just a donation in this corona pandemic.

Car MaintenanceI began using LMT when I moved into the Columbia area. They did my Maryland auto inspection on my two cars. They passed without any issues. I was relieved there were no ‘made up repair requirements.’ I have since been a loyal customer for the past two years. They are great about giving repair recommendations when they notice them during routine maintenance. When I have asked assistance on prioritizing my older vehicle’s repairs for budgeting reasons they have been very helpful & honest. I highly recommend LMT.

Brought my truck in with break pedal going to the floor. LMT diagnosed the issue and got my truck back on the road the same day. LMT Auto Repair is very reasonable in price and have excellent customer service. Highly recommended! Bring your vehicles to them.

I stopped in as the shop was closing and was able to get an appointment for the next day. They were upfront about what the test drive charge was going to be. After the drive they explained the problem without talking down to me and repaired only what I asked. They had it done the same day and didn’t charge an arm and a leg. I would definitely go back.

Extremely rude older man blocked our car as we were sitting in a spot waiting for a rental. Was considering to get my car fixed there because my car was in an accident, hence the need for a rental but after cutting my sister crossing the street with his car so he could block us in and yell at us I decided not to. Could have kindly asked us to move and would have been no problem.

Excellent Service! I am a college student and do a lot of back and forth driving. Over my Thanksgiving break I ran into a car emergency. I stopped in just a little before they closed but they still got me in that afternoon! I arrived back to school safely and on time!I feel like people only like to post reviews if they want to complain. I used this shop again ( multiple times since my first experience) and every time I have been there I have been impressed by their customer service. They are all genuine and caring about the customer and the car. I love visiting this shop and I would recommend it to anyone!

I was in the area and popped in to schedule an oil change but they took my car in on the spot and fixed her up. Once again had top notch service!

This place is a huge ripoff. If I could give it no stars I would. We were scammed immediately given we had out of state plates and were in the process of moving our vehicles over to Maryland. This required us to get a Maryland inspection, even though we had a valid Virginia inspection received just three months earlier. After keeping our car all day they informed us that it would cost almost $1,600 to get our car up to snuff to pass the inspection. Needless to say we picked the car up to pay another service center to give us a second opinion. I proceeded to drive away and did not even make it 1/4 of a mile before the tire almost came off the car! This place didnt tighten the lug nuts at all. I almost got in an accident on 175 trying to get to the side of the road as fast as I could. I proceeded to call the shop and they talked down to me like I was making something up and didnt know what I was talking about. They sent a mechanic out to check and sure enough the guy touched one lug nut and it fell to the ground, not to mention one lug nut was already missing. They had to fix my tire because of their mistake and then said they were sorry for the inconvenience. I was shocked, thats all they do after this incident...thank God it wasnt worse. We took the car to another shop and they did say we needed a bit of work and quoted us $300 to do all the repairs. Please BEWARE, this place is only in it to scam money out of you, not to mention the incompetent careless mechanics they have working there.

Dropped car off for reasonably priced State Inspection, which was seamless and done in record time! Before leaving, I was instructed on MVA issues and recommendations to ensure the sale of the vehicle was smooth and effortless. I learned things that were important that I didnt know. The pre-arrangements for the work were very flexible and accommodating. All staff members I encountered in person or by phone were friendly and helpful. I even had the option to pay for and pick the car up the next day while it was stored as a professional courtesy if I couldnt get back to do so before closing. I didnt need to take advantage of that offer, but Im grateful for the offer because of my hectic schedule. Bottom line ... Two thumbs up! (I put more up if I had them!!! :-) )

My 19 year old son and a friend took a road trip from our home in NJ to visit a friend in Alabama during college winter break. On their way home, his 2014 Altima broke down over two hours from home, in Jessup, MD. Thankfully, they were not far from LMT Auto. This was on a Sunday evening. We had the car towed to LMT and my son and friend checked into a hotel nearby. It was a scary and uncomfortable situation for us at home at least. i think the boys were just going with the flow.My son described what happened and after confirming there was gas in the car (there is a constant dash message stating how many miles to empty), it sounded to me like it could be a fuel pump. Not being there and not being able to go there because of work obligations, I was at the mercy of the mechanics. Horror stories of people being taken advantage of by mechanics, who were located only miles from the uneducated vehicle owners own homes, filled my mind. This guy could tell me its the flux capacitor or that we need a new engine, I would have to take his word, or have the car towed 200 miles, or take days off from work to dispute his diagnosis.LMT quickly diagnosed that the car simply needed gas for whatever reason.Again- this guy could have told me anything and I would almost have to believe him. For an unscrupulous business or individual, it was a dream scenario. Kids stranded, owner 200 miles away- they MUST get this car back on the road.$20 in gas. The mechanic even took the time to reason that my son, being from NJ (where there is no self-serve gas), might be struggling with putting gas in the car and offered to go to the closest station with him and assist him with the pump.There ARE good, kind, honest, and caring people and businesses in the world. Im am so happy to have crossed paths with some in Columbia, MD on a cold winter afternoon in January of 2019.

George is the best mechanic out there!

I dont trust this place. I have had a couple of shady transactions with this business. Went in once to get my u-joints fixed, and they were broken and were fixed properly but my truck came back with a bad vibration. They said it was probably transmission problems and I should have it looked at by them. I have never had transmission problems so had my dad, who is a mechanic, look at it when I visited him. Right away he noticed the drive shaft looked odd, so he went and balanced it and it was not even close to balanced (off by 180 degrees). I paid LMT $200 to balance my drive shaft when I had the u-joints fixed, and they made it worse which then in turn caused more damage to my truck. Then my dad says shady places will do this to get you back in there to spend more money.So after I had those repairs done I went to get my truck registered in MD and had to pass safety inspection. Like an idiot, went back to LMT hoping they would cut me some slack after the damage they caused. They had a list of minor problems which had nothing to do with safety and failed me. An example would be my toggle for power mirror didnt work, even though I move the mirrors with my hands, just like in the days before power mirrors. Finally went to another place in the area and passed the inspection with no problems what so ever. This places tries to nickle and dime you to death and keep you coming back...BEWARE!!

Had my Escape in for service and a check up. Estimate was explained clearing and pricing was fair. Work was completed on time and very happy with the service!! I will return and recommend LMT to my friends and family!!

This place is a complete joke when it comes to customer service, not to mention I feel taken advantage of. Having worked in the hospitality industry, I know the power of a good or bad referral. And being the manager of a company with a very large workforce, Im more than happy to pass on my bad referral of this place. I will be cautioning as many people as I can to stay away from this place. I dont need my friends or employees getting scammed the way I did. Im sure the many people Im connected to on facebook and twitter will also appreciate (and pass on) the warning. I will also add my review to the many NEGATIVE reviews you have already received on Yelp and similar review sites.Keep the money you scammed me. Im taking my business elsewhere and Ill be sure you all get the recommendation you deserve.Oh, and in case you still want to take your car there, make sure you tell them you need it back in a reasonable time, because the 4-hour window they quote you apparently doesnt mean anything if you dont tell them you actually DO need it back within 4 hours.

They thought it might be a head gasket but then determined it was a fan on the water pump. Their ability to solve the problem the first time is excellent. My Jeep was ready sooner than I expected and all the work done was of top quality. I really appreciate everything they do for my vehicle.

I almost feel bad writing this review, but what they did was just not acceptable. Ive gone to LMT for 2 years for minor things, oil changes, tire fixes, etc. and have always found them to be reasonable. Ive even recommended them to others.Unfortunately, this has changed. I brought my vehicle in to have the brakes checked and do the 30,000 mile service (which they offered) and ended up with a $1,200 bill. For a 30k service!? I was quoted 400 for the front brake pad change and the rest was for the regular 30k service. I was taken aback, but noting my history with them, I agreed and they told me my car would be ready by noon the next day. I hung up and saw similar quotes from a dealer for around $300 for the 30k service. By this time 20 minutes had past since they called me with my quote, so I called them back and asked if I could just have the front brakes done and hold off on the rest...I was told that its too late, hes already started. After 20 minutes? For a job I was told wouldnt be finished until the next day! When I brought this up, the gentleman insisted that it was a long job, and it was too late to change anything. I find this very hard to believe.Frankly, I feel they took advantage of the situation. I admit, I should not have agreed to the price originally, but I suppose thats the cost of trusting your mechanic...Needless to say, I wont be providing any more recommendations or patronage.

Theyre expensive, and unapologetically so. However, theyre the best. To me, I never worry about if I can trust them or their work. They are amazing.

I rarely write reviews, but I have to in this case after reading some of the others. Heres the reality of a 10-year customer: Not only do I take my cars to LMT, I have referred a dozen friends and neighbors over the years, ALL of whom have been very happy. One of many examples: when LMT could have made thousands of dollars by replacing the engine in my Toyota MR2, they advised me that it was not worth it, and I should give up the car I had so much fun driving. They did that because they are completely honest and know that the only way to run a family-owned business is to always do right by your customers - it will work in your favor in the end. My Dad was a mechanic and ultimately co-owned a Chevy dealership, so I grew up in the business, seeing the good and the bad first-hand. I have no doubt that the people who have written bad reviews either have no idea what theyre talking about, or they simply need to take out their frustrations at having been given bad news about their car. Nobody likes to drop several hundred dollars on repairs or preventive maintenance, but if thats what it takes, then thats what it takes. Man up and quit blaming the messenger! One final thought: one of the two vehicles they service for me is a 1998 4Runner that is in incredible shape - theyve been maintaining it, and yes, making some major repairs over the years - for probably 9 years. I highly endorse LMT Auto and would welcome anyone to contact me if they have questions about this excellent business.

Routine Oil ChangeHave been using LMT for years and even when I come in for a simple oil change, they take care of the whole car and keep track of maintenance that I need for my warranty. Also had a dent in my car and they gave advice on that too.

I visited this shop once (11/11/2011) and was only there for ~30 minutes. Thus my experience is limited, but this is my opinion after bringing my car in for a tire leaking air.1) Customer Service: Excellent. The manager was extremely polite and gave me a quote of ~20 for a tire repair + tax.2) Speed: Very fast. The manager had a mechanic bring my car into the shop within 5 minutes of my arrival. The manager said it should be ~30 min to figure out whats going. Well before 30 min, the mechanic came out and told us the problem. The tire was damaged and I needed a new one. In fact, they said I needed 4 new tires because they are all worn out.3) Pricing: This is my biggest concern. Instead of repairing the tire, I had them put the spare on. Yet they still charged me the same quote for tire repair even though they didnt repair the tire. The only work they did was diagnose the problem and then put the spare tire on and they still charged me for a Tire Repair.Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this repair shop. I do not believe their prices are honest especially charging $20 for the amount of work. Additionally, I recently got a new tire ~1 month ago after running over an industrial sized nail. Yet they still said I needed 4 new tires. In my opinion, I would really need 3, but I dont think they fully inspected all tires which made me distrust them further. Again, the shop was courteous, friendly, and kind, but I cannot trust anyone here after what they charged. If I had to guess, they overcharge because theyre located in Columbia which is an affluent county. But unfortunately, I cannot trust them and will not go back. I do not recommend LMT Auto Repair.On a side note, LMT Auto Repair is located in an Auto Park so there are many other auto repair shops within walking distance, and some right next door. I would try one of those shops before this one.

Shady shady shady place. AVOID. TRIED TO RUIN my CAR. Left the bolt to my camshaft sensor out and efforts to make me spend more money. I only went there for a vcd light , claimed they couldnt find the problem. Next thing I know my engine is shooting out oil and the whole camshaft sensor was hanging out. NEVER AGAIN. CROOKS . NO HONEST AT ALL

Ok! I take my 1500 silverado pickup truck to LMT and they rip me off of $50.00. They say that its my starter $480 to fix, but when I come to pick the starter up and take it to Advance auto parts to have tested, the results was the starter was good. I contacted the manager at LMT and advise them of a incorrect diagnose of my vehicle, I have the receipt from advance saying my starter is good. My experience with LMT PLEASE BEWARE THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF! Do not take your vehicle to them ass you may find yourself with a BOGUS charges and misleading information!

Its weird that their website only show mostly good review and my bad review was not posted (bad review was submitted ~1 week ago). Their website review shows that this place is great, but I dont think so. Went in for inspection, and they failed me on the oddest things (ie: car running poorly). I drove my car in to them perfectly fine. I dont see how my car runs poorly. But car can be running poorly and still pass MD Safety requirements. Anyways, they failed me on other issues that i checked up on MVA website that is not part of a MD Inspection requirements. I feel that this place is pretty shady. Took my car somewhere else and it pass with no problem. Like I said, pretty shady.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE !!! Went there for an inspection for my Audi and I failed because get this windshield wipers dont work, cant get out of car from the inside back drivers side, no tag light and both front CV boots were torn. I was told it would be a 4 hour job on the axle and cost around $460 plus part.THIS IS THE GOOD PART...I got to the shop and showed Michael Seymer how to cut on the wipers and how to unlock the child safety. I did need a light for my tag. I had my son , who is a mechanic look at the boots and he found no problem but advise me to take to another inspection shop just to verify because he was working on the ground. I took to the inspection shop and guess what ??? when I dropped off he said it would take about an hour for the repair and $60 for the part. I said ok. He called me later to ask about the problem and I repeated the axle boots and told him the paperwork from LMT was on the front seat of my car. He placed me on hold and came back a moment later to inform me that THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY AXLE BOOTS they were trying to rip me off and on the paperwork the spelled axle incorrectly. Get a second opinion when dealing with this place.So I go back to let them (LMT) know and now they have all sorts or excuses. We look under the car and the boots are not torn but he claims the wrong clamp was used on one and the other looks loose. BOY BYE and I am reporting them.

Took my truck in to have a Maryland vehicle inspection in Dec. I failed for a few things and I made the repairs. I took it back for the inspection and it passed. The truck is not my primary vehicle and I may drive it once a week. In Jan I was driving down the road and the wheel fell off. I noticed that all of the lug nuts had come off and one had snapped the stud. I was able to get the tire back on the truck and use a couple of lug nits from the other wheels to get the truck home. Called and spoke with the manager Mark. He informed me that the inspector did not have to take the wheel off to re-inspect the rear break disk and there fore they are not at fault. Read some of the other less than favorable review and make your own decision.

STAY AWAY!!!! This place is not Poor to Fair but flat out BAD. I went in to get my car worked on for what I thought was a cylinder misfire due to a bad cylinder coil. I would have fixed it myself but I did not have the part or the time. I signed the paper for the $100 diagnosis and waited. Ron the CROOK called back with codes of P0300, P0031, and P2181. He recommended that I replace all spark plugs and coils for engine misfire and replace/drain the thermostat and coolant for an astounding $1,400.I told him that that was more than I was looking to spend and asked him what it would take to drive the car home today. At this point Ron the CROOK got mad that he wasn’t going to completely rip someone off. So he told me that he could replace the plugs and coils for a phone quote of $462 but that he wouldn’t be able to do this until the following day because the ENGINE WAS TOO HOT TO WORK ON and that if he removed the plugs at that time he risked damage. LIES LIES LIES. So I told him to replace only the coils thinking that that would fix the problem and lower the price. Angrily, he said “fine, I’ll do what you tell me to do” and he hung up. This process should take no more thatn 10 minutes. Two hours later the car was done and I went to pay. I was surprised to see that the cost was still around $400. Ok…so exluding the $100 diagnosis fee it’s about $300 for a difference of $60. So half the parts and half the labor equals %20 off the price? What’s worse is that he charged me a full hour for something that should have taken 10 min. F*** that. I will never go to this place again and you should avoid it too. They’re CROOKS!!!

I was very happy with my experience with LMT auto repair. I needed a four wheel alignemen on my car. I called up and they were able to get me in much quicker than any other shops in the area. Their price was very competive and to the repair shops and tire shops a like. From the time I first called for a price to the time i picked up my car with the repairs completed everyone was profesional and friendly. They answered all of the questions I had about related repairs and explained complicated technical terms to me so I was able to understand. I would also like to add that there alignment machine was more modern than the tire shops i looked in to and they provided me with a color print out of my alignment readings. I was very happy wtih LMT and I will use them for all of my future maintenance and repairs.
