The apartments are mostly fine, they are understaffed so things arent kept in the best of shape, but I suppose everyone is right now. Still, several of my maintenance work orders were left unfulfilled for months. The location is very cool. My biggest problem is with the management and customer service. Signing was one of the biggest nightmares Ive ever experienced. The person I dealt with was friendly but seemed to have little sense of how to get me signed on, turns out I was correct she sent me several documents with mistakes, and repeatedly ignored my calls, and failed to get back to me when promised. I later found out she had taken a sick day without bothering to hand off my paperwork to another staff member, so I just sat in the dark for several days. When i asked her about she was confrontational and dismissive. Move out wasnt much better, the new staff member (Im assuming the original one quit or was fired) was nice and competent enough, but wasnt upfront or honest. I asked about my deposit and how much I should bother to clean the apartment, he said it was fine and I shouldnt worry about it. I swept and vacuumed anyways, and made sure the kitchen, fridge, and bathroom were in good shape. I only lived here for 5 months, so the place really just needed a quick once over and a covid sanitation. Long story short, I received $17 of my security deposit back. $17. The charges included carpet cleaning and paint - the walls and carpet were in exactly the same condition as move in. I would say Im surprised but Im not, another corporate land lord operation in the business of squeezing out every last penny. The least they could do is run a friendlier, more competent operation.Typical response... also my deposit check is defective and cant get a returned call. At least its only 17 bucks, dont spend it all in one place guys.

Put in 3 maintenance requests months ago and nothing got done. I had to go out and purchase the materials my self for the repairs. And do the work myself. Ive done a lot of work to the apartment.Refinished the deck, recaulked the shower, refinished the hardwood floors, replaced dryer vent, repaired holes in closet door. Refinished cabinets in kitchen. Provided materials and labor myself.

Even though I decided not to rent here, simply because I have the same two wheel drive problem as another reviewer, Daniel in the main office was awesome, and very accommodating. He is the epitome of Professional, and he knew his stuff. He made it a very difficult decision to not choose this place to live . And honestly the apartment felt like home. If only it wasnt built on top of many large Hills. If you have a4 wheel drive vehicle, or have no problem with that, this is the place for you.

I enjoyed my stay for the most part.. staff was mostly helpful and nice. However, my apartment leaked water from the kitchen since I moved in, and I lived there for 15 months. It leaked every-time it rained or the snow melted. It leaked so much, that the water went all the way to the bedroom and went under the carpet every time.. so this was very frustrating. They attempted to fix the problem but it kept happening. One of the maintenance men entered my apartment without notifying me while I was gone, and my dogs were not in their crates. I didn’t even know he went inside my place until another maintenance guy casually mentioned that he gave my dogs treats. That did not sit well with me..Over all and despite these things, the manager, Austin, was nice and gave me a few discounts due to the flooding. Daniel in the Office was always great to work with.

Overall, I really enjoyed my time here and only left because I bought a home. The office staff/maintenance was incredibly responsive and very nice. It is safe and quiet and people mostly keep to themselves. I know many reviews speak about parking concerns. I paid the extra for a parking space and I think it was worth every penny. The only thing I had a concern about was the hill that most parking spaces are located on. There were a couple of snowy days where it was impossible to get my 2-wheel drive car up the hill because it hadnt been plowed. Other than that, I recommend Whispering Hills!

DO NOT RENT HERE. Management lacks any sense of urgency or care for any issues. Rent prices are outrageous for outdated buildings with poor insulation, old water heaters, poorly built decks, etc. I had $2500 worth of accessories stolen from my truck. When I spoke to management about it, they had no cameras anywhere on the property to even help with the situation. When I asked for security to be installed I was told “I’ll pass it along”. I’m paying $1740 a month here and it the situations gets worse weekly. Absolute joke of an apartment complex. Nice views though

Austin Harper is the worst manager of an apartment complex I’ve ever seen. The staff is useless, rude, down right terrible at their job. Do not be fooled by the fake smiles, and fake treatment you get when you come see the apartments. The moment you sign the lease you’ll be treated like trash as all the other residents I’ve spoken to have. They tow residents vehicles so that you’ll have to pay them $50 extra for a reserved parking spot. The tow they use is the furthest from the complex so they can charge you $300. I’ve had my vehicle towed now twice after not finding a single place to park. To pay $1300 a month for these apartments is practically the equivalent of throwing your money in the trash. Keep looking their are much better options where the entire staff isn’t trash and you’ll wake up with your car still there. Don’t be fooled by the 5 star reviews the staff writes, it seems it’s the only work they do.

We got a “ we turned the water upstairs off” just let it dry on its own” Sorry, bye! Meanwhile the caulking is coming off, the paint is stained the cabinets are wet. AND we have to pay for the water that’s been on in an empty apartment for a month!! But “ just let it dry” 1600 dollars for this dumb NOT WORTH IT! Cant wait to leave!

This is the worst place I have ever lived! The buildings are old and not updated. The cold air seeps in through the windows, doors, fire place, and even outside wall outlets! Everything is always falling apart, and maintenance just patches enough to hold for a while. The hallways are carpeted and smell horribly. There is never enough parking, because even with the joke of a parking pass, the neighboring complex parks in our lots. The leasing office is clueless and makes excuses for their mistakes. There is nothing luxury about this place except for the prices!

El

Do not rent at this apartment. The units are run down have old appliances, the hallways smell like dog urine. The bathrooms are outdated, and even the front door looks like they had no clue how to installed it. You can see holes all around it, and hear everything that is happening in the hallway. The sliding door is even worse it constantly goes off the rail it slides on making it really hard to close and leaving huge open gaps exposed. The parking in this apartment complex is atrocious. You cannot find a space if you get off work after 8pm so be prepared to walk. You can call them and ask them what to do and they will tell you it’s ok just park on the curve or it’s not their problem, only to find your car has been towed the next day. When I called them to ask why my vehicle was towed they offered me a $75 dollar discount on my rent for the inconvenience. They then told me the person who told me I could park there no longer works in the leasing office so it’s not their problem. The towing fee to get my vehicle back was $290. I would like to mention that when I asked to speak with the manager they told me she would call me back, then I received a call ten minutes later being informed the manager had decided to leave early and wouldn’t be able to speak with me. So if you want to rent an apartment where the manger will hide in her office in order to not speak with you. Where office staff leave an come like the seasons in Colorado, and you could be told one thing one day and a different the next. Where your paying the same price of apartments that have new appliances and are updated, yet yours looks like you live in 1990. Where you will smell dog urine every time you walk outside your door. Where your car will get towed if you have a job that gets off late. Where you will never find a parking spot, but see visitors parked in them all the time. Where you will be charged a random amount for the shared power they use in the hallways. Then I can Guarantee these are the apartments for you. I highly advise you keep searching there are far better options around the area.

These apartments are wonderful. They let in a lot of natural light and are very comfortable and spacious. I haven’t had problems with leaks or pests, but management fixed my fireplace within 2 hours! The office staff members are wonderful and very nice to work with. My only issue is the parking, I work late/very early hours and there is never a spot left. I have even had to park a mile away before and walk the rest. The reserved spots only help the people that have them, but there simply aren’t enough parking spaces for each unit to have one. Other than parking, this is a wonderful place to live; by far the best apartment complex I have signed a lease with.

Tenant moved out at the end of May 2020. This review was 3 stars before today. I received our move-out assessment and not only did they keep the entire deposit I was charged $400 for carpet that was needing replacement before we moved in. Due to the change in community management there was no one who could verify the fact it was due for replacement *regardless of our occupancy* so they simply passed the expense on to me. The parking as many others have mentioned is truly horrible and unless you pay for a reserved space good luck. I have nothing to say other than I am profoundly disappointed that a decent, albeit not perfect, term as a resident was solidly ruined by an unfair move out assessment and a false claim that I did not inform them about my dog; which is ironic because the entire staff and ground crew know and love my dog.

Let me share this lovely experience that was given to me:In August 2020, my fiancé and I started actively looking for an apartment that has two bedrooms, because we are expecting our first child in February 2021. So we found a listing for a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment on the first floor for $1270/month. We call, and email about this apartment so we can see it, and we are ignored. When someone FINALLY gets in contact with us, they tell us that we have to sign the lease before we see the apartment and they use COVID as an excuse not to show us the apartment, even virtually. They continue to tell us that we can drive around the complex to get an idea of the location. So we drive around and it doesn’t look too bad, the location looks somewhat decent. So we make another attempt to see if we can see the apartment before we sign anything, and yet again, we get denied, so me make a leap of faith and sign the lease because they promised that we can see the apartment afterwards. Well two months pass and after countless attempts to see the apartment, excuse after excuse, we reach the day we are supposed to move in. The leasing office tries to push back our move in time and viewing to the end of the day 10/30/2020. When we FINALLY get to see this apartment, we are baffled by the process just to get to the apartment door. Walk down a flight of stairs to this door which leads to a hallway, then you have to walk to the end of the hallway to another door which leads to, yet another hallway, and you continue down this hallway to ANOTHER door which leads to stairs, go down the stairs and immediately turn right and go down the 100th hallway to finally make it to the apartment door. When we enter, the first things we notice is how disgustingly cheap the carpet is. It looks like commercial industrial carpet, rather than residential carpet. The walls were apparently freshly painted which is insane because there was paint literally peeling off the walls, (I am pretty sure there is asbestos in the walls) . The walls went straight into the carpet, there was NO baseboards in the entire apartment (easy access for pests to invade the apartment) and the bathrooms were disgusting, the mirrors had a sticky film on them and the tub was yellow! So with this observation, we make the decision to not move in and look elsewhere for a place to live. Well they get a smirk on their faces and say “well you already signed the lease, so unfortunately, the only thing we can do is honor the 30 satisfaction guarantee”. We explain how this apartment is not suitable for us to have a baby in and how my fiancé is gone a lot For work so the maze of hallways and stairs is not feasible for me, as I will be having a newborn baby and it will be incredibly difficult to carry a baby and groceries on my own, especially in winter (along with unreliable parking). They refuse to work with us, even though we have not even moved in. The apartment is ready to move in, but remains vacant, and they took $1500 from us and claimed the additional $230 is some fee that I’ve never heard of before in my life. Just be warned. They will swindle you into signing a lease and screw you over into being stuck with it, and REFUSE to show you what you’ll be living in.

I am a current resident. This new management dont care about their tenants. Dont expect any action on the requests until you follow up few more times. The old management (pre-covid) was thousand times better. The parking situation is worst here. Literally you have to pay for parking spot or you wont find it and this is never mentioned in the lease agreement. The water bill alone is $70 for the month of July and they wouldnt even help you with breakdown. The maintainance requests are always considered non-emergency even when your toilet flush doesnt work which it does not very frequently, because the prior fix is temporary. The only answer you would get for asking permanent fix is these are old apartments and expect only temporary fixes. There is no minimum courtesy to inform the tenants a day before atleast when there is a planned construction work above your roof. One fine day you woke up to someone above is banging the roof over your head. When you give a call to management there is no proper timeline when that would be done to plan your day. So if you dont want to go through this, please stay out of this place.

I have heard from people around here, you can get the same thing for about $400 less a month. My husband and I both feel that we are being completely ripped off. First off, there are speckles of paint on our floors, and you cannot wash it off. It makes the floors look messy and like there are crumbs EVERYWHERE. The sink in our guest bathroom is eroding away and it looks like there is mold surrounding the faucet. Our drain in the shower CONSTANTLY get clogged. Its almost every single week, which makes the shower floor extremely slippery from all the soap build up after you use the shower. If I dont clean it after every use, I am slipping in the shower and have almost completely wiped out a few times. When we moved in, the outlets were not installed right, one of them was upside down, so we couldt plug anything in. The outlet in our bedroom is non functional for whatever reason, again cant plug anything into that outlet.Another huge thing is parking. There is none. If you are not home by 4 in the afternoon you will end up walking pretty far to get to your apartment and people will park in fire lanes and over a speed bump because they dont want to walk. The property makes their own rules (which is as expected until the experience we had). They sent out a notice to everyone saying that they will tow cars if they were in fire lanes, in an unassigned parking spot or in walkways. Well one day my husband unknowingly parked both of our cars in fire lanes (it was about 11 at night, and yes, my fault for not informing him right away of this notice) and the next morning, both of our cars were gone. Had to pay $520 to get both of our cars back, which put us in such a hole that we can barely afford their ridiculous rent. A week later, I see a car parked in the same fire lane spot mine was parked in when it got towed and it was there all night into the morning, never got towed. So I called and asked why it wasnt towed and they had informed me that their tow notice was getting too much for them to handle so they stopped towing cars. I am not sure how many cars got towed in addition to ours but it is not fair that we had to pay over $500 to get our car back and then see others not get penalized for the SAME EXACT THING. They do not work with you at all on reimbursing you, which I think they should have done to the people who had to pay to get their cars back. The employees park their golf carts either in a parking spot where a tenant would park a well as in fire lanes, which makes parking even more difficult. The maintenance is rude. We had probably close to 10 things wrong with our apartment they needed to fix, one being our smoke alarm. My husband was trying to put new batteries in it because it was not going off while the others in the bedroom were. He could not put the fire alarm back on so we decided to just let maintenance fix it. No one was home while they were fixing things and I come home to a note that says fire alarm doesnt work unless you plug it in. I dont appreciate being treated like an idiot and unfortunately I was not able to defend myself because I was not home when they were there. Its just plain rude. Our master bedroom is always freezing cold. Maintenance told us we have to close ALL OF THE OTHER VENTS IN THE APARTMENT in order for our bedroom to be at a comfortable temperature. ???? I feel as though something else can be done about that issue. Utilities for a less than 1,000 sq ft apartment is ridiculous. The gas alone just to keep this place comfortable it close to $100 by itself. Please do not live here. My husband and I have only been here since January and we want out as soon as we can afford it.

Ive lived at Whispering Hills for about 3.5 years now (October 2011) and am happy to say Ive never had the negative experiences expressed by others in the recent reviews. I know people are more likely to review when they feel strongly against it, but I was definitely surprised by the star rating. The only downside has been the change in management: Were up to leasing company #3. The upside to this is that each company tends to want to fix up the place in different ways.As for my general review? Affordable pricing for the area, quiet, responsive to maintenance requests and Ive never had disrespectful or loud neighbors in the 3 1/3 years - probably reflective of the area. Its also only supposed to improve in the coming year+.Pro Tip: Go to the hot tub on cool nights. Great view and there is almost never anyone there.

What amazing service done by Brandon today. I had an issue with my toilet overflowing, along with my hot water heater not working, all before office hours and I wasn’t sure if anyone would be able to assist me at 8am. Luckly my fiancé called the emergency maintenance line and Brandon was here in less than 5 minutes. The second Brandon walked through the door he had a smile on his face, his boots were covered with protectors and he was ready to work. With all this snow, he definitely made my family a top priority. Angie at the front desk was also very helpful today as well, reminding me that it was going to be okay and they were going to get everything done ASAP!Thank you Brandon and Angie for the amazing customer service. :)

Way too expensive. Maintenance never fix is there any other problems just puts a Band-Aid on it and hopes that nobody notices. They let people live here for months without a lease and then finally make them sign onto the lease. No parking ever. Remodeling team did a horrible job and left messes everywhere. No security which at the price there should be. 99% of the time your stuck talking to a computer rather then a real person when you have questions. I would suggest never living here ever!

I currently live in the Whispering Hills apartments and do not recommend living here. I have had continued issues getting maintenance requests filled in a timely manner. There has been one instance when a maintenance request was marked as complete even though no one from management or maintenance had come by the apartment. There have been two occasions where I requested to be notified before anyone from staff entered my apartment, but the management team failed to do so. One of these instances was when the shower in the bathroom needed to be re-tiled. The management informed me that someone would start work on a Monday. I came home from work on the Friday before to someone in my apartment ripping out shower tiles. The management team apologized and promised they would communicate better in the future. They have entered my apartment without notice since that occasion, though. There have been nonstop projects and construction since I moved in, which makes the parking lot a complete mess. Cars are constantly parked in the fire lanes and in undesignated parking spots.

I have been in contact with not only the local management but also the property MGMT company Echelon at least 6x in regards to my deposit that I still have not received back even though it was apparently approved. It has now been 58 days, I hope that this review finds anyone considering this complex and makes them think twice, they are either incompetent, lazy or just pure negligent.Unfortunately I will now have to contact a lawyer just to get MY money back.

Hmm what to say hereThere is lots, firstly we lived here for 8 years, when I first moved here I was paying 795 dollars in rent. By the time we moved out it would have been about 20 dollars shy of1200 . Again this used to be a great place to live at. I remember when we used to have one party every month. The third company that bought this property well they arent very nice in my opinion, they are trying to bring Denver prices down . At the beginning I was very upset over the move, but now I am super glad we had to move because I couldnt afford their rent anymore, my disability only goes so far. The new place is so much better, hardwood floors, same two bedrooms, we are only missing one tub, and a patio. Plus we dont have to fight for a parking spot. So for me and my family this move has turned out to be a great blessing.regarless of what other health issues we have going on. So in conclusion I am glad we moved, I know plenty of people there want to move the rent is getting to expensive. Renting at this place makes it to where you get motivated to buy.... renting at big complex just seen like all you work for is rent.again I used to loved living here, but the last few years I had behind to dislike it. Glad we had to move

Was good experience living here for the most part ...but We did have a few issues. Positives: friendly staff and maintenance quick to respond usually. Negatives: parking or lack of it unless you like to walk; Lived in basement apartment and was flooded once from upper floors after ice storm and had water issues from same upper apartments where the guest bathroom ceiling fell in TWICE and laundry room ceiling leaked. All fixed but had to live with a gaping hole in both for awhile til all dried out; main bathroom had to be re tiled twice; Water heater went out and flooded hall and area by guest bathroom; lastly, on departure, they nickle and dime you.. Beware of when your move out dates are as they will charge for everything... Told Manager we were leaving on a Saturday only to be told at last minute no one can inspect on Sat so had to pay more rent. Lots of hidden fees. Will never rent from this management company again. We were naive. Not all Echelons fault as they were like the fourth company to own complex but they were the ones that were the last so have just disgust for them!

My fiancé & I absolutely loved our time at Whispering Hills! The staff in the office was always very friendly and helpful! Our 1 bed, 1 bath was great- ours wasn’t a recently renovated unit and it was still higher quality than many other complex’s we viewed prior to signing our lease with whispering hills. Pool, views, neighbors, trails behind the complex, everything was awesome! Sad to leave- but relocating closer to work. Thank you, whispering hills & staff for making our experience enjoyable!

There is no enforcement of Illegaly Parking in the redzone that is for emergency personnel and blocks the view of incoming traffic running the risk of collisions despite the fact there are signs posted stating cars will be towed.

Living here for three years was alright. We chose it because they allowed large dogs. When the new management took over, we left a few months later. They never sent us a final bill after specifically leaving our new address and phone numbers. A month later, we get a collections letter. We go over and pay the bill in full. 3 weeks later, the check has not been cashed and our credit is getting wrecked over two hundred dollars. This management company is awful, be warned.

The management is terrible! If something happens it is never their fault, they push the blame to either the tenants or other third parties. There are also hidden charges that were never discussed at move in. For example... tenants pay a community gas and community electric bill in order to have the hallways lit and pool heated. They lost paperwork that had my personal information on it and then blamed it on the fact that they had multiple temporary employees in the office. There are birds living on the inside of my walls and nothing has been done about it for months. These apartments are gross. It all comes down to the management staff and their lack of tenacity.

We have been in the Whispering Hills Apartments since the middle of July, 2018. As with any dwelling, there will be things that need fixed. Marty, Adrian and Brandan have been quick and professional in taking care of our needs. Whether it be a water leak, rechaulking the counter, furnace trouble. Or the latest, shower faucets leaking and hard to operate. Someone always responded to get the job done. Thank you to the whole team, office and maintenance.

DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!!!!! I came to tour these just a few days ago. While speaking to someone in their own car which was parked next to mine at the time, which I may add was in font of the leasing office, the landscaping company was weed waking around the area, hit a rock and shattered my window. I showed the leasing consultant and they said they couldnt do anything and then proceeded to close and leave while I was still in the parking lot with glass all over the ground. No one offered anything to help clean or information to contact the landscaping company. As the two property mangers left, they ignored me and the situation.

These buildings are structurally unsound. The units slant and the floors bow and flex as though they are water logged. Doors and windows do not open and shut properly and structural cracks protrude from windows and door sills. The insulation is not up to par which means that your apartment will not evenly heat in the winter. The bottom floor units flood every single year and service requests are constantly ignored. They recently added some eye candy to the property such as new sod and LED lights, then raised the rent 36% on average. The staff is friendly and extremely professional, but you can find houses in the area that are twice the size for the same cost as here.

I lived here for over a year and a half worse experience ever their online portal is always down. Too expensive for the units and service they are suppose to provide. Pool was always dirty when it was nice out. Structure was terrible didnt feel safe. Cant open windows when hot all screens were broken A/C went out they didnt fix it till a month later. Management so unprofessional never their fault for any miscommunication. When Regina ran the place it was great. Can find better place for the price.

The new management is completely incapable. The old management was at least friendly when they charged you for things you shouldnt be charged for, but the new management has been rude, and charges even MORE pointless charges. It has a nice view and they accept large dogs, but it definitely is not worth the amount of frustration they cause. I once had been charged late fees when their system was down for weeks (which it almost always is), making me unable to even see how much I owed. When I confronted them about the late charges, they told me they would wave the fees and give me the correct bill, but the SAME DAY the woman that told me this signed that I owed those late fees along with MORE because I hadnt paid them the late fees. Its been chaos since they took over. They lie about everything. Residents arent priorities. We had ants in every room. Nothing gets fixed.
