We recently lost our sweet cat of 20yrs. I know she wasnt human, but it was just as if we had lost a family member. Fatima was just wonderful, kind and caring. She treated us like we had lost a family member. I would highly recommend using their services should they have the unfortunate experience of losing a beloved pet. They were very affordable too.

Smalls Funeral Home has taken care of many of my family members in our time of need, they were there to help us through every step of the way during very stressful and emotional times. There have been times when I didnt know how I was going to make it through making all the decisions that need to be made at the time of my loved ones passing and then I make that first call to them and immediately I feel a sence of comfort by their reassuring, calm and compassionate manners. By the time that all arrangements have been completed you feel like a part of their family. I am very appreciative of the comfort they give and cant thank them enough!

Where do I begin…The staff of E. Alvin Small funeral home is absolutely amazing!!! They definitely made a horrible time in my life a little more bearable. They made the process of taking care of final arrangements seamless and stress free. They went above and beyond to help me with every step of the process from start to finish. Alvin Small’s Funeral Home in Colonial Heights met with my step- daughter and me and told us the steps involved in a sympathetic, patient, and compassionate manner. So appreciated! Another aspect that I really appreciated was that they do not rush your visiting hours and funeral —making it easier for my step-son and granddaughter to get to Virginia from Florida. Having been a librarian at Colonial Heights Middle School from the 1970’s to 2005, I have known several of the young men who now work at Small’s and I am so proud of each of them. It takes a special kind of individual to console those who have just lost someone they love deeply and this was the way everyone was at Small’s Funeral Home. Our family has used E. Alvin Small funeral home in Colonial Heights many times. Most recently my mother passed in March 2021. This was my 1st time doing anything like this before myself. They were so wonderful with everything and I mean everything! They came to our home to get her and so professional and sincere! Then the next day meeting them for an appointment. They made the whole process so much easier for me and took care of everything! Things I didnt even know they would. There was NO pressure by anyone to purchase this or that! They asked what we would like and it went from there. For having to go through the loss of my momma they were there for me and our needs! They are the only place we will ever use! My Husband William Hall passed away this February during the ice storm. We called Small Funeral Home at 10:30pm and Lou Smith reacted quickly to get him transported from the hospital to the funeral home before the next ice storm coming in at 1:00 that morning (all this during a power outage) I could not be more pleased with my whole experience dealing with Lou, Bryan and Taylor. I would highly recommend Smalls Funeral Home.
