Staff was friendly and helpful, straight to the point and flexible. The car was acceptable and worked well for the purposes. The car was what I specifically asked for- an economy, and this helped me save money. I was able to drop the vehicle off without a hitch since I dropped it in the lock box. Also, best price around.

I picked up a car from the Collinsville site to drive to my house so it could be used on a weekend trip. The associate pointed out, from inside, paint chips on the front bumper that he attributed to someone at another site chipping the paint with a hose when washing the car. He did not inspect the car with me and I admit, I did not inspect the car before leaving the parking lot. When he pointed out the paint chips, I took that as the only damage. When I arrived home and got out of the car, I noticed the bumper had more than chipped paint. The whole front bumper was loose. Also, when I got in the car I noticed a faint smell that could have been cigarettes. I wasnt sure. It became stronger as I drove the car. When I pulled over to call the office, no one was available and it was close to closing time. My fear is that I will be blamed for the cigarette smell when I dont even smoke and be charged a hefty fee to clean the car.

The gentlemen working the desk were friendly and very professional. Although the site had discontinued after-hours drop-off after wed made our reservation, they were happy to accommodate our return date (we were coming back from vacation.) The car we rented was immaculate and clean. It gave us no trouble on our 14+ hour drive. Excellent service and product!

First time avis renter. Second time ever renting a car. Used a debit card to rent the car ahead on line. When I went to pick up the car the guy working was not friendly. Told me and the guy in front of me that you had to have a credit card for the deposit of $250 or no car. Cash is no good.Did not have smoking cars. Sticker on the window said they keep the deposite, $250 if you smoke in it. That was fine. But when returning the car the same unfriendly man tried to charge me $400. When I told him what the sticker said. Under his voice he said they would not rent to me again.On the night of returning home on our trip. My kid locked the key in the trunk with the doors locked. This was at 1am. We called avis emergency services number and they said they could have someone out in 65 minutes. 90 minutes later we called back and we was told nobody was coming. We had to call back to get someone else. Their guy finally made it out at 6am to open the car.

Car wasnt tidy At All! Had a funny smell, oil light kept coming on, etc. Its obvious these vehicles arent being maintained nor sanitized as advertised. Prices are a bit Too High now to be experiencing that type of thing. Us customers deserve Better than that now.

Rented a 12-passenger van. Physically checked on Monday to confirm that van was available. Van was at Collinsville site. Went to pick up at approx. 7:45am Wednesday and van was dirty (had to wait while vacuumed and sanitized) and was not full of gas. Had to put over $60 worth of gas in right away to fill tank and begin our trip. Was advised to bring back at same fuel level . . . which was an inconvenience. Dirty kleenexes in rear seat along with food items in door pockets. Very disappointed that van was not ready when reserved and was not clean nor full of gas.

Based on my latest experience. I dont know if Ill ever rent from Avis ever again. I had to swap out my vehicle. Low tire pressure on the spare tire & the original tire. I had to drive 1hr 30 mins to exchange the vehicle not knowing if the location was open or even if a vehicle was available. Remember Im doing this on the tires that are the issue.

I have recently had to rent cars due to my own automobile being in the shop for repairs, however Ive dealt with this location and Dallas for well over 15 years and I have never had nothing but the best experiences every single time. My cars were always clean my wait times were never more than 2 or 3 minutes and that was usually because another customer was in front of me. I was ALWAYS treated with respect and some of the best customer service that I ever received anywhere Ive ever rented a car before. Honestly every Avis that Ive used even when Ive been on vacation or travelled out of state. Just want to say thank you Dallas and Avis for such amazing service.

I had read some unpalatable reviews about Avis Collinsville and was skeptical at first but I decided to try them out anyways and my experience was the opposite of what Id read! I got my car on time, it was clean and it was exactly the car I was expecting. I had a smooth ride to and from my journey. Kudos and keep it up!

Was not showing anything on the rental. Even with the rep knowing I had never used a vehicle with no key. Also several emails and reps gave incorrect information from my booking. Then when returned rental the rep gave incorrect information stating no additional charges when I returned rental. Which was untrue I had to question him to be provide correct information.

I scheduled pick for 9am. Got there and they did have any cars. The rep stated he would call me when the car arrived. Never did. I went back a 12pm to find that the cars was there and nobody called. So I was late for my engagement that day and discount or any accommodations were offered. Very disappointed.

I will never rent at this location nor Avis ever again. My entire experience was a fiasco. I was stranded for 5 hours, 17 hours away on the east coast due to Dallas giving me a car with a leaky tire. Which I ended up having to pay for the service. Never ever again. I felt that I had to beg for help this entire process, even when talking with customer service. Horrible. Big companies are about keeping their money and that’s exactly what happened. I got ‘got’.

Business wasnt open at time advertised. Veh reserved unavailable. Veh offered wasnt clean, had to wait longer time for it, veh windshield fluid reservoir empty and paid out of pocket for 2 gallons of fluid to put in car. When returning veh the business not open as advertised and lot full of snow. Had to park on side street and wait until open. I filled gas completely full but charged 4/8 of a gallon. Quoted $92 for extra day but overcharged after returning veh. My final invoice was overcharged by $100..

When I made the reservation on the phone with Alma she made it a pleasant and hassle free experience. I like the phone check in and the gentleman working at the location had my rental ready within a few minutes and also very friendly. He washed the SUV!

Great prices, easy to work with, but my car was not well cleaned. However, only one guy was working the counter and cleaning on the weekend after labor day and I say 6 other customers there the same time as me so he was very busy, yet hustling and polite despite the stress.

I was greeted by the owner and he was very nice and told me that my vehicle would be ready after it got cleaned, then he had to leave and that’s when the problem occurred. So obviously the person he told to clean it didn’t because after I got home and was putting my children’s car seats in the back I discovered that the inside hadn’t been cleaned. There was food and soda spilled all in the 2 back seats, McDonalds left in the vehicle, etc., so I’m more than sure that the inside wasn’t clean nor sterilized before it was handed off to me. And I have video and picture of the inside. I hope and pray my family nor I gets sick from whoever had the vehicle previously.

The entire rental process was extremely easy. Our van was ready as scheduled and they had washed it for us prior to our arrival. We had no issues with the rental and used the after-hours drop-off/key lock-box upon our return. The prices were competitive and unlimited mileage was included in our rental contract - that was key for us since we had a long road trip from Illinois to Minnesota. Overall, the rental experience was good - and we would use the Avis store in Collinsville, Illinois again.

I made a reservation for a Premium SUV (i.e. Surburban, Expedition, etc...) around 4 weeks prior to the date I would pick it up. One hour before I was scheduled to pick up the Premium SUV rental, Avis called me to inform me that they did not have this car for me. Instead, they offered me a much smaller SUV that would not accommodate the size of my group or my luggage. Next they offered me a 12 person cargo van and then a minivan. One hour before my scheduled time. They were not friendly, not helpful and acted inconvenienced when I was asking what options I had. I have always rented from Avis both personally and professionally, but I will no longer be renting from Avis. The Collinsville Avis location was not clean and the staff were not at all helpful.

2 times I have come, waiting 15-25 min after opening time, for someone to get here and open up. Also they never have clean cars, or the requested car. Just horrible business at this particular location.As of now there are 3 people waiting for someone to get here.My reservation was made a week ago, alsoIts now 7:55 and she is here.

Avis service was fast, friendly, and I even got a discount! Very pleasant, easy-going people. Not stiff at all, like Enterprise down the street. Nice, clean facility. I had my rental before the pick-up time began! Already booked another rental with the 30% off price they gave me. I was rather impressed with their service. Made us feel like old friends! You can tell they enjoy talking to their customers and care about their travels instead of rushing them out the door to make money. Thanks again, Avis!

Avis Car Rental use to be fine, but its not until recent times in which the experience just got worst. For beginners, me and my girlfriend had to go on a important trip, and we prepay for a car. Back then you can prepay with just a debit card and it would be fine. Now they had a policy in which you have to use a credit card amount of $100 on top of what you already paid for it to rent it off. So unfortunately we left our credit cards at home so we had to delay our trip to go get it. Next when we arrived to the location when they first open up, the employee didnt show up until 10- 15 minutes after they open and we are on a tight schedule to get on the road. Usually I dont complain about things as this but this experience make us to say this will probably be last time with this company.

I would have to say everyone done their job greatly Travis an Dallas Done 👍 I will day however whoever is in charge of cleaning them didn’t have it very clean when I got it, they actually left somone else’s Mask in the center Console lol But I didn’t complain lol because my Son Spilled ice cream sprinkles in the back seat so I feel like we all can be messy at times an he probably had to clean 20 cars or more that day so OVERALL I HAD A GREAT EXSPERIANCE WITH THIS LOCATION

Ive used this Avis location a couple of times. My last visit was very similar to what Ive experienced in the past. They really dont have enough people working at the location. But I really cant blame them. They wouldnt be able to keep this location open if they had to staff it with two people. It wouldnt be profitable. So youll end up waiting a few minutes if you hit them at a peak time. The person I dealt with was very nice and handled it well, but it took me 25 minutes to get my rental.

I went in after not being able to get in touch with the office I rented from in Louisiana for over a week, along with a few other issues from the 800 number. However, Casey at the Collinsville location was awesome! She helped me work out every issue, got me the vehicle I wanted at a great price, and made sure I had everything I needed before I left. Such great service, and if Im ever in the area again needing to rent a vehicle, I will be back. I highly recommend this location!

Horrible customer service, called a few minutes after they opened, employee (Dallas?) made my reservation for 230 that same day stating 2 cars would be returned by then for me to choose from, i show up and a different employee said they had no returned cars and there’s no guarantee for them to be returned when making reservations? also did not appreciate the man looking at me and acting as if i’m an idiot.

The customer service here is always excellent. I have used this location for 2 years. They are always accommodating and will find a better rate for you if possible. If they dont have the vehicle you selected, you are always upgraded. They understand how reservations work.

If there was an option to give negative stars this place would get it. Had a truck reserved and called several day in advance to confirm the truck was ready and received an email the day of confirming the truck was ready to go. Drove all the way there and to my surprise no truck was ready. The man at the desk told me I could have a truck double the size that would cost way more in gas as we are moving states away and this has completely messed up our plans. I guess having a reservation means absolutely NOTHING!!!! They also offered the truck that was double the size (and double the price in gas to get to our destination at no additional charge from budget) then proceeded to tell me it was reserved for someone the following day and they were happy to screw those people over too. What poor customer service. He explained he couldnt help with a discount for our inconvenience that I would have to call customer service. If I had rented a car he could give me a free rental and discount for next time but no help for a truck rental. So I called customer service who transferred me several times and finally said a customer service specialist would call to give my discount. Waited 45 minutes for a return call from a manager with inventory who couldnt help me and said I had to call customer service. So went through that deal all over again just to wind up getting no help at all. They offered for me to pick up a truck at a destination Completely out of my way. That Defeats the purpose of reserving in at the location I did Add not provide a discount for the inconvenience caused.The manager Mike said that I could take the truck they offered me that was much larger and they might give me a discount when I get to my destination but no way were they giving me a discount for my inconvenience now. They do not care that they screw people. No one will help you. They gave me an email for corporate since their million dollar business doesnt have a Corporate phone number. Please save yourself a tremendous amount of hassle and do not book with budget or Avis. It will be the worst experience to say the least.

Prices are usually better than all competitors and add the unlimited mileage factor into the equation and its a no brainer. No nonsense company that doesnt try to talk you into something that you may not be able to afford or have any use for just to get more money out of you. Never have I walked away disappointed in this company at all.

My experience with renting a mini van for our vacation was very easy, cheap, friendly, and I had no questions after placing my order.When I picked up my van they gave me the choice of which one I would want and the different features each van offer. It was like we were friends the lady was so friendly and hopeful. I was very impressed.Dropping off the van was just the same. The man was just as friendly and was fast to check us in.I will be recommending everybody to Avis in Collinsville IL. Thank you AVIS

Went well initially, friendly service and economical price at Collinsville location. The car was rented for a round trip to care for elderly parent, but she passed away during rental period. The car was dropped off at a destination hub but not before getting hit with a $300.00 extra fee. Read your agreement carefully, these rental companies are into some shady, underhanded tactics.

The staff there is very accommodating, as I am 65 and I cannot rent Ford products with their too high center consoles. My right knee bangs into it all the time. The manager and staff always make sure I have a lower console car (any other make than Ford - sad because Ive owned 4 Mustangs and 5 Taurus before Ford went to a high console). My only frustration is calling and getting the national call center when the neighborhood site is busy, but the Earth still revolves and I have always had a good experience at the counter.

This is the second time Ive rented from Avis in Collinsville and have had no problems at all with customer service there. My cars have been clean, the staff has been very friendly, and the rates have always been the cheapest. I dont know why anyone would go elsewhere to rent a vehicle.

Reserved a car. Was running late & they gave t away without so much as a call confirming we werent coming. Reservations dont have much value here :/ travel a lot for work, generally rent with Enterprise or Hertz. Decided to try Avis because it was closer to home and would make things easier as we were trying to get on the road for family vacation - my mistake :(

I had a rental at 9am. I showed up at 9am during my scheduled pick up and no one was in the building. It was locked and I waited in the rain for 30 minutes. I called Avis and was told I needed to go to Fairview Heights. That wouldnt be so bad if I had a way to get there, hence needing the rental car in the first place. I will never go back.

I cant count how many times I have called their number and nobody EVER answers the phone. Nothing is more frustrating from a customer point of view when nobody answers. I dont mind waiting on hold but the phone just rings and rings and rings. Highly frustrating so I just go a little further down the road to Enterprise where they answer the phone!

Was very inconvenient I missed the pickup the first day by a few minutes due to traffic that was ok because after all I was late but the next day they didnt have my car anymore I had to wait another hour for a return the rental agent was not nice on top of me having a bad day in traffic the day before I had a bad experience with the rental guy who pretty much said it was my fault he didnt have a vehicle for me that was prepaid even though I was late it was still paid for I dont mind paying for the day I missed but to come in and be told that me or my money didnt matter its a business was not what I wanted to hear and in my book was rude insensitive and way over the top Ive delt with this company on other occasions and it was never this bad I think I will choose another rental car company

I reserved (a month in advance) a Ford Escape or similar model. I showed up at my reservation time to be told that they did not have any cars. So the boss brought his compact Mazda SUV. It was much to small for our family of 4 and luggage. A terrible inconvenience from a terrible company.
