First time coming here and I got a pedicure with gel polish. After getting home I realized I had gel polish all over my skin and my cuticles were flooded. Only been a few days and it’s already peeling off. Waste of $50!

Best place for pedicures and nails!

Ive had good experiences here in the past, but my experience today was terrible. My nail tech burned my fingers several times with the drill and filed my nails on the sides until they were raw and inflammed. I should have said something, but I kept quiet. I paid $45 to have my nails ruined and left in pain.

Best salon ever! We drive 2 hours to come here for nails, always A+ service. They always remember us and theyre happy to be there which makes for a positive enviroment/experience!! Very reasonable prices, many levels of pedicures to choose from and to top off a manicure they give you shoulder and arm massages 😊😊 Hands down amazing place to have a few hours of pampering!!

This was my first time getting a pedicure and was not sure what to expect. I was very happy with the service and the staff was friendly. I was happy with my experience and would recommend this place to my friends.

Until recently, Ive been happy A Plus Nails. Happy staff, happy customers. Things have changed and not necessarily for the better.Maybe more pedicure stations and manicure options, but they are obviously cutting corners. Using untrained (probably ) subcontractors with not good results.My adult daughter and I planned to meet at A Plus for her birthday. Wed both been very happy customers of A Plus for several years.We were asked if we had made a reservation, and when we had not...we got the subcontractors / trainees.The wax for the paraffin treatment was beyond hot hot hot. The callous treatment did not include the expected cheese grater tool.Total disaster. Will not go back.

Made an appointment a few hours before they closed. My woman was in a huge hurry to just leave and rushed through. Hot acrylics done but arent that nice. Had polish all around my nails and on my fingers. Seemed if they knew you then you were treated like family but otherwise they dont talk to you much. Owners seemed nice just disappointed.

Had the most amazing experience here I cannot go on and on enough. Came the night before my c-section and they made sure to treat me like royalty.. Ask for Seven he did an AMAZING JOB! Highly recommend!!!

Loved this place! I came with two other friends and we all just got the basic manicure and they treated us so great and did an amazing job! Will definitely go back!!

TERRIBLE!!! SERVICE AND QUALITY - JUST TERRIBLE!!!they overcharged me $10.00, even though I left $20.00 tip! They end up doing my nails for 3 hrs and the man technician was very rude, arguing that he dont want to do a french manicure (!!!), (older man, I assume a manager had to apologize for him and asking me make sure Ill come back). Thats not all!! During 4 days after they put NEW SET of nails - 3 of my new nails broke!! When I came back to fix it - they had no time ,asked me to come back after an hr....So much for good service!The only good person there was Cindy (girl who was there gust 2 months...she was very sweet and end up doing french manicure for me instead of the man technician).ILL NEVER EVER COMEBACK to this salon!! Ive been doing my nails for 20 years and never had horrible experience like that! DO NOT GO THERE!!!

Ive been to quite a few nail salons in the metro and have been really happy with A+ Nails. The staff is friendly and does really good work. I recently tried the dipping powder manicure and love it! Id recommend A+ Nails to anyone.

Best nail place in the metro. They have the new dipping powder technique for your nails and some of the best chairs for pedicures. Hon and Julie have a awesome crew.

I walked in on a busy pre-prom Saturday and they were able to take me in right away. Ora helped me and was really friendly and did a great job on my nails. I will definitely be going back!

Definitely one of the best places to get a mani or pedi. Theyve always been super professional and able to get me in anytime, and get me out quickly. Andy did my dip the last time and they turned out great and have held up for over 3 weeks. I will definitely go back!

They messed up me my mom and best friends nails.we payed $110 total with out a tip and they still messed them up. We have cuts on our fingers from them being to ruff.

I tried this place as it came highly recommended by others. I got the deluxe pedicure- included parrafin wax and shellac. I thought the place was very dirty. My nail buffer was not new (this is required by Iowa law) and they were using tools for multiple people without sanitizing in between. I am seriously worried about an infection, so I have been slathering my toes with triple antibiotic ointment since Thursday. The technician was nice but seemed very exhausted from such long hours of working. My shellac looks good. $55 and a discount if you pay cash.I would not recommend.

I am not a native to Iowa but moved here a couple years ago. Nowhere else in the Des Moines area do the employees have the same skill level as they do here. I walked in, no appointment, and showed the manicurist Tom a Pinterest picture of coffin shape acrylics with ombré French dip powder. He looked at the picture once and made it look exactly like I wanted! I have made several follow up appointments with Tom particularly, although other manicurists there are so good. Dip normally is a 45 min slot at most places and he took a full hour and ten mins, did my cuticles, lotion, and massage. They are a very popular place because they are so good, so making an appointment may be prudent if you want to go on a Saturday, but they are always able to help everyone who walks in! I strongly recommend!!

I’ve been to a few places in the area, but A Plus Nails was the first business to ask my name and call me by my name multiple times. Bob did my nails and I am so happy with the results. They are slightly more expensive but you’re paying for more than just a mani/pedi...you’re paying for wonderful service!

Had my first manicure with dipping powder at A Plus nails. They looked like thick press-on nails. She didnt do anything with my cuticles so Im not sure how you could call this a manicure! She was not at all personable, seemed annoyed the whole time. I have since had a manicure elsewhere with the dipping powder and MY NAILS LOOK GREAT. They look like my own nails with polish. If youre planning on having nails done with the dipping powder, DONt go here!!

This was the top rated nail salon during my trip to DSM, so I decided to trust them. My pedi and mani (with gel nails) took less than 60mins. Everything was rushed with me. My boyfriend went as well to get a pedicure and his was over 20mins longer than mine. All of my nails have now chipped, within a week and I am disappointed. It is my fault though, as I could tell she was rushing and didn’t speak up. If you want your $$ worth, don’t visit this location.

Very pleased first time I tried dip powder. Second time had a terrible time and had to go back and get it fixed the next day. Tried a third time and when I requested the gal to fix the nail she had smudged, she complained and fixed it, then I had to go in again the next morning to have it fixed again. Dip powder should last three to four weeks, this one lasted less than a week and two of my nails cracked and broke. Very upset since I paid extra for the dip and even more on top of that for the french.

Ive tried a lot of different salons since I moved to Iowa and this salon has the happiest, most polite staff of all. Their service goes above and beyond any salon that Ive been to in Iowa.
