Convenient to highway, yet quiet. Friendly staff welcomed me at 1:30 am. Large, clean room. Convenient to Des Moines, downtown and East Village were only 10 to 15 minutes away with minimal traffic. Also convenient to Whole Foods. Loved my stay there.

Our family stayed here for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. Our room was on the main floor and we had a sliding glass door to the enclosed courtyard. It was very peaceful to sit outside while our older children swam nearby in the indoor pool. The staff was very polite and helped out with everything we needed. We will stay here again for sure.

We had to come stay here last minute because the Days Inn right next door is not a safe place! We showed up here at 1030pm - just me and my 3 daughters and after I explained what happened with the Days Inn the front desk lady found us a room, no questions asked, where my kids dnd I would be safe and comfortable for the night. I absolutely recommend them and we will definitely stay there again the next time we are in the area!!!

Its a very beautiful building and the staff are friendly. The elevator is interesting to find but otherwise a very nice place.

My children and I felt unsafe. We observed illegal activity take place in parking lot as well as person trying to open doors on several cars in parking lot. I called office to try to locate office and expressed my observation to staff and they were not surprised. I chose to leave and go to another place where we felt safer.

The room had garbage on the floor, the coffee table was all dirty, the TV didnt go to correct channels, the outlet didnt charge my phone. So disappointed in this property. So disappointed I prebooked.

I’ve stayed at this hotel 3 different times in the last three months due to my house catching fire . This last time I was there they completely lied on me to a different gm .they said the called the police on my . I had to go to the police department to to prove that there was never a complaint . They accused me of smoking in the room when my 8 year old daughter was in there (need I remind you she has severe asthma) they over charged me )250 because “there was too much trash” but I went back due the the fact they say there was physical damage and the guy at the fron desk did not find any. Highly DONT recommended .

Laid back with nice hot tub and clean pool

Positive: Proximity to local restaurants. Very clean and quiet. Negative: Most likely due to covid, there was no microwave in the room, so I used the common area one near the front desk. It was filthy. When I turned to mention this to the night front desk attendant, she was on a personal phone call the entire time.

Have had out-of-town guests stay at the Courtyard and its always earned high praise.Ive taken business related folks for coffee. They have a nice setup for chatting without a lot of background noise. +The staff has always been friendly and available for refills and taking food orders. Highly Recommend!

Would have given a much higher rating, but a hotel at this price should be equipped with microwaves in the room. Also, most of the electric outlets in the room seemed to not be functional.

Marriotts are always known for thier names and services they provide. I have been here for 3 days stay and liked it very well. Rooms are pretty good and neat, they have good services to serve you. Best thing is restaurant having good variety of breakfast and coffee of for sure of starbucks.

Positive: Smelled very fresh Negative: Lights off in lobby in middle of day. Looked almost out of business. And sink and tub poor drainage. Then called front desk. And went to Vm but said was loaded with messages would not take the call. Covid? Short on people?

This hotel was okay. The pool was kind of gross. Lots of stuff floating in the water. Not sure why there isn’t a bathroom anywhere near the pool abs workout area. Had to go all the way back to our room. Closest public toilet is in the lobby. The rooms were okay. Our room floor was wet because the humidity in the room was so high. I had to change my socks and put a towel by the bed to dry my feet. The beds were comfortable and the pillows too. The shower was nice and it was nice to have more than just the travel bottles available (the shower had full sized bottles attached to the wall).

I was not happy with the room assignment. Also was told they where booked when clearly the parking lot was empty the desk clerk was going to make sure I was not pleased. I had to ask for a bar of soap none in the room during a pandemic? All I asked for was a room closer to the pool and was told they where full which was clearly a lie. I stay at alot of marriott hotels and will avoid this property in the future.

Wasnt the cleanest bathroom I have ever seen, but wasnt the worst. The corners were very dusty and had hairs in the tub and all around the floor. There was some kind of white stain on the carpet under the sink. Toilet was lopsided and had something dirty on the lid. Mattress was good enough to sleep on. If you look at it without the sheet, it was stained and material was worn out. No bugs though so I dealt with it.The lobby is very nice and has a Starbucks. The clerk that checked us in and out was very friendly. We loved that.I would stay here again if it is a very good deal. Otherwise, I would look somewhere else.

This was a great place to stay. Clean, quiet and friendly staff. We had a meeting here and the staff made it easy and convenient. The meeting room is very large with plenty of room. Rooms were clean and ready to go when we got there. They have a small store to purchase food or anything you may have forgot to bring with you. I would definitely recommend staying at this Marriott.

We had 5 kids under 9 and they were getting a little rowdy in the breakfast area. The staff brought our games for the kids to help keep them entertained! Thank you for going above and beyond. I had a comfortable bed for the night but would have enjoyed grabbing something to eat in the hotel but I was confused about what they were doing there. I got the impression I was supposed to order from my room? A cup of coffee would have been nice in the lobby, I’m an extrovert and after traveling need a little energizing from people wandering around would be great. Definitely a business traveler hotel catering to younger people who want to be in their shell. Very impersonal staff they seemed nice but not perceiving my need for interaction and explanation.

A great place to stay whether you are on business, visiting, shopping, sports, or just passing through. Staff is wonderful: very friendly, helpful, they know the area if you need to know restaurants or where something is. Rooms are clean and very comfortable. Lobby and hotel has been updated and looks very nice inside and out.Just a great place to stay.

Check in is very easy but be aware that they will automatically charge your card an extra $30 and refund it to you a week after your stay without verbally telling you. The amenities are nice, but pictures can be deceiving. Besides the lobby the rest of the hotel is very run down. They dont clean their bed sheets as I found a stain on mine as well as someones hair on my pillow cases. The ice bin I was provided in my room was dirty and still had melted ice from the previous guest. While taking a shower the tub was very slimy indicating it never gets cleaned. The decor is from the 80s. The staff is very unprofessional and the general manager is always looking at his cell phone instead of helping guests. When interrupted he was very rude.

This Marriott was located in an awesome area and is a beautiful facility. Rooms are spacious, pool area and hot tub area very clean and always stocked with towels, beautiful courtyard with lots of seating, gorgeous up to date lobby and bar area, beds are very comfortable and everything in room was in working condition. Also has a nice laundry room. There is no microwave in the room but they were accommodating at the desk and let us use theirs. Refrigerators are very small but overall was very please with everything at this location.

The room was clean and comfortable. Location was close enough to the highway and was only a 15 minute drive into Des Moines.Although the staff were friendly, check-in took a while to complete. Was acknowledged by staff at the cafe that someone would assist me shortly, but they didnt call anyone to come out. When the person finally did, was ignored, took her time restocking items at the cafe before coming over to check me in.Comfortable rooms, but service during check-in was a bit lacking.

Taking your family to the pool and then finding out its freezing is the WORST! Well, this time we went to the pool and it was bath water temp! So warm! We enjoyed hours in the pool with our small children. I will recommend this hotel to every family with small kids for the sole fact of the pool being so warm! love love love!

Loved the place! Clean. Good choices for breakfast, served quickly and fresh. I wasnt there for lunch or dinner but looked good. Nice bar. Loved the set up for seating. TVs were available in the restaurant area and there were places to sit without the TVs bothering you. Great access to snacks. Friendly and very helpful staff. Would return if ever in Des Moines.

This hotel definitely underperforms. The initial room we were given was not clean, food still in fridge from previous occupants. TV did not work properly. The room was remote (our car was the only one on that side of the building), I would have been worried had I been traveling alone. The second room was under a very active family and the hotel was clearly not full.

We only stayed at this hotel for 1 night and the price was unbeatable. The decor of the hotel on the inside is incredibly nice and its in a quiet area. No complaints about our stay. We always prefer breakfast being included and it wasnt at this hotel, but we bought the avocado toast that the cafe had and it was amazing! They offer Starbucks, but the woman at the cafe wasnt for sure on how to make the drinks. It was overall a good stay.

Very welcoming front desk persons. Only problem I faced was the route. It was kind deep down on the street. Other than that , rooms were spacious, fitness as well as pools were maintained very well.

Very clean and comfortable. The staff Wass friendly and helpful. The night manager was fantastic. She was polite and very eager to keep everyone happy. We were traveling with my sons baseball team. She offered to play a movie in the meeting room one night, as well as set up karaoke the next night. The indoor pool was also a perk as it rained during one night of our stay.

I probably have 50 nights in this location and I always love it. The lobby is easy going and comfortable and the breakfast / bar is well stocked. The staff are long term employees who really do have the customer in mind with their actions. Just first class people!This is not a full service hotel with complete services but its an excellent location. In the top 10 of business locations Ive stayed at.

While the young lady that checked me in was extremely polite and professional, I can not say the same for the other staff members that I encountered. If I had to do my trip all over again, I would have definitely chosen a different hotel location, based on my experience with the manager and the other front desk clerk. Being checked into a room that had not been cleaned was not a big issue and it was easily resolved. The issue I have with this location was how I was treated after I discovered my room had not been cleaned. The manager scolded the worker in my presence, then made me feel as if Id done something wrong.The following day after I cleaned my own room, I asked for towels and was told that I was more than welcome to come get them myself, as Lori, the front desk clerk didnt have time to run behind me.I give this location 1 out of 5 stars. I have never had such an experience at a Marriott and I am thoroughly disappointed.

Courtyard Clive/ Des Moines Always My #1 Choice! Conveniently located off the interstate but situated in a nice quiet area with several restaurants and shopping areas close by. The upkeep of the hotel interior and exterior are great. The Bistro selections and food quality are nice as are the breakfast menu items. So nice to have Starbucks coffee available. The lounge area is very comfortable with nice little private nooks with televisions! The outside courtyard areas are nicely landscaped and spacious, great for relaxing in the sunshine.

We had such a nice stay at this Courtyard Des Moines /Clive.Friendly, helpful, professional and caring staff and management. Clean, clean, clean.The Lobby is so fun and comfortable to hang out at and relax in. Fun & Relaxing décor with very trendy decorating.Our room was comfortable, fresh and clean, a great place to relax and recharge.Great mattress and pillows.The outdoor space and pool was very tropical looking.We didnt like the Starbucks option as we dont like their coffee or prices=truth.

We had not stayed in a Courtyard hotel in awhile. We were pleasantly surprised. The cafe/bar was a nice addition. After 12 hours on the road we did not want to have to find (and drive more) a place for dinner or for breakfast in the morning. They believe in the farm to table concept and offer many healthy choices. Delicious! And the room was nice and bed comfortable. Staff was friendly and informative. Overall a wonderful experience. Will check out other Courtyards in the future.

We were very impressed with the cleanliness of this hotel. It is very well maintain and updated. The pool and hot tub were awesome and very clean. We appreciate the fact that we can get our Starbucks right in the hotel and a hot breakfast, lunch or dinner anytime we want, along with the lounge, its nice not to have to leave the hotel for anything. The staff was very helpful and the courtyard is amazingly beautiful! With the hotel being full, it was never busy but very relaxed and calm and very enjoyable. We will definitely come back when we are in Des Moines.

Great location, great staff!! Quiet rooms and beds were very comfortable. Rooms were very clean. They have a bonus program where you can get points for being responsible as a guest with your linens. This is a nice feature. Stay here. You wont be disappointed.

This Courtyard has an excellent team of very helpful and knowledgeable people, who are very willing to help. From the front desk to the cleaning crew everyone is ready to help. It is also very well kept except for a very few minor details, and its in a great location near a variety of restaurants and commercial area. Relatively close to downtown and airport. Great spot for any traveler especially for business.

Courtyard standards meet and exceed my expectations. The service was excellent and their attention to the customer was the best Ive had at a Courtyard. The hotel was well kept, clean and in a perfect location for my business trip. The hotel is not new, but kept up very nicely.

With otherwise efficient and friendly reservation service, this time the person totally botched it. The person said the reservation was ready, but at check in, there was no record of it. Being a heavily attended sports weekend, this might have gone very badly, but the desk person handled it well.

The room was clean. That facility was great. It has some great meeting room and social areas the pool and hot tub are in a separate area.

I enjoy staying at this hotel as the staff are always very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean and up to date. I feel very secure at the hotel which is very importnat to me since I travel on business alot by myself. They have everything at the hotel from Starbucks coffee, a place where you can grab a sandwich,and free internet service if you choose to stay in. If you want to go out for a bite to eat there are several resturants close by. Excellent Stay!

The Courtyard in Clive should make most people happy. Staff is great, food is great, fitness center is available, the jacuzzi is great, and I LOVE the balconies! I visit for fun and for work frequently. There are MANY restaurants near by, the freeway is close, and the food in house is good too! The internet wasnt bad before, but its even quicker now. For work or for families, its a good choice.

Hotel was VERY clean and had friendly staff. My check in was quick and same with the checkout. The only thing I wished this hotel location had was complementary breakfast. They had a huge lobby area with plenty of seating and a Starbucks inside, but no free meals at this hotel. Would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in Clive!

The Courtyard is extremely clean. The staff is nice and professional. I was able to get lots of work done while sipping a coffee in there very nice and comfortable business lounge with college football playing in the background. It is located near a jogging/bike path so I was able to work out outside. Cant say enough about how well located, clean and professional this hotel is. I will book again whenever I am in the area.

The room would not cool below 74 degrees and when you have spent a hot day outside, this was not cool enough for us. The bed was comfortable at first and then it became apparent that the mattress was pretty firm. We both work up with a backache at 2:30am and the room was stifling. The air vent is in the corner of the room by the window, so air circulation was not the best. My husband tried to adjust the tempature unsuccessfully several times during the night. We even discussed just getting dressed and sleeping in our car. When my husband checked out the next morning he mentioned it to the desk clerk. She took his comments and was really not too sympathetic. The next hotel we book- I am going to check the room out FIRST and make sure the mattress is ok and the air conditioning works.

The Courtyard Marriott in West Des Moines/Clive has great staff and well maintained. We traveled 8 hours and felt very welcomed. The front desk manager helped find a room that fit our needs, despite our prepaid reservation. Lobby was well done and clean. Rooms were up to date and clean. Staff brought a roll away bed within minutes of our arrival. Safe and secure area very close to interstate.

We were warmly greeted and quickly checked in. The hotel was very accommodating about directing us to a parking place that could accommodate our truck and trailer. The restaurant was open late, so we could get a good meal after a long day of travel. It was really good.

Nice hotel but they placed me next to an outside door and I heard it open and shut throughout the night and had a view of the parking lot- not of the courtyard. Next time I will ask for a better room as I am supposed to be a gold member.

Had a very pleasant stay. The Front Desk staff were very nice and accommodating. I was allowed to check in early since I was ahead of schedule. This was exceptional for me since I was dealing with a herniated disc and never mentioned it to the staff. Rooms were clean quiet.

It was a beautiful night sleep. The coolest thing was the bathroom supplies. They were mounted in the shower. The shampoo, conditioner and soap. It was all by tea tree and lovely. The beds were so soft and comfortable. The pillows I walk into. Sooooo nice! There wasnt a free breakfast, sad, but there was a chef ready to cook you a hot meal to order. The rooms were as clean as you would expect and were as nice as expected. I highly recommend it here.

This Courtyard is very friendly to those who use a wheelchair. There are options in how the bathrooms are set up and the staff works to help the individual find the room best suited to them. There are roll-in showers that are actually accessible and bathrooms with the grab bars on the right or the left of the commode. The bed is a bit high and a bit soft so can be hard to move around on. But, all in all, this is a good option for those using a wheelchair.

The rooms are very clean and modern providing a comfortable space for me and my family of four. The front entry lobby and common space was laid out well and provided extra space for visiting with friends while waiting to leave for dinner. The only draw back to an above average hotel stay was no continental breakfast or free coffee available in the morning. I also have to mention that I was excited they served Starbucks Coffee but the steamer was broken. Honestly, I dont hold that against them, the Starbucks machine but am holding no breakfast! Ill stay again when I visit.

We had a great stay at Courtyard by Marriott. Our room was very clean ~ the beautiful white bedding made it feel extra clean! We did miss not having a continental breakfast. Our room opened to the beautiful courtyard. We could not enjoy it as much as we would have liked to, since it was filled with children from little leagues that had also been staying here.

We recently stayed 2 nights in the 2 room king suite. The king bed was comfortable and overall the room was great. Staff at this location are absolutely outstanding.

I feel as though this hotel has become My Courtyard. With a great location and wonderful staff, this has become My Courtyard. A place thats comforting like home to me, embracing, safe, clean, and wonderful staff that have my best interests at heart.

I visit Des Moines for work about once per quarter and always stay at this hotel. The hotel is quiet even though its usually fairly full, the rooms are always nice, beds comfy and they have nice toiletries (important to those of us girls that carry on for over a week). The location is also convenient. Its about a 5 minute drive to the office that I visit and is very near a ton of restaurants as well as a Whole Foods with a nice salad bar. They will also give you passes to a huge gym down the street from the hotel.The staff very friendly and always super helpful. During my most recent trip I became ill and staff went out of their way to help me and make sure I was comfortable.

The staff allowed us to use a meeting room to gather after the wake of our Uncle. There were about 40 family members. We were never bothered by the staff or told we were too loud and they checked on us to see if we had any special needs. Everyone was friendly and accomidating.

Location is super simple. Room was clean. Asked for a roll away bed and it was supplied immediately. Staff was friendly and funny. But children were bummed that the swimming area had to be cleaned on Labor Day Monday. Love seeing it being kept up to health standards. We frequent this location for all the things above but not sure we will return soon. Other guests were quite loud and inconsiderate. Which isnt the hotels fault. Just felt like we had found a hidden gem of a hotel. And now its ruined for us.

Overall great stay. Room was clean and comfortable and ease with check in and departure. Whirlpool wasnt heated but was resolved the 2nd day. Enjoyed the spacious courtyard and open air feel with all the windows. Beds were comfortable.

We had a wonderful stay at Courtyard Marriott Des Moines West/Clive. Our room was clean. The beautiful white bedding made it seem extra clean! Our room opened into a beautiful Courtyard. We were there the same week-end as the little league teams. We could not enjoy the courtyard as much we would have liked to since it was full of children having fun playing and parents.

This hotel is an older property, but it has been kept up very well. Inside the rooms was like any newer Courtyard. The lobby area is totally new and spectacular in decor. The pool and whirlpool were fabulous. The design is an older one, with a courtyard in the middle and the pool/whirlpool in like a greenhouse. I happened to really admire this set up with all the natural light. This property is in a great location for easy assess to 35, 235 or 80, and any other Des Moines metro location. It was a perfect place to stay.

Stayed at this hotel for an event at 7 flags center. It was a $6 uber ride away. Great staff, very clean property and close to good restaurants. We dined at Wobley Boots BBQ (about 2 blocks south) and it was excellent. Breakfast was good at the hotel.

This property is well maintained and has a SUPER staff. They care about ensuring guests have a quality nights rest in a clean, comfortable, and well portioned room. The onsite restaurant is a plus especially in the AM for breakfast. Saves another stop in your morning. I had a great stay and would encourage others traveling to the Des Moines area to consider the Clive Courtyard. You will not be disappointed.

I love this quaint, charming Courtyard! It has a beautifully landscaped real courtyard, great to relax and enjoy a drink or to read and hang out. The staff demonstrates excellent customer service. The rooms are very clean and the beds comfy. I especially enjoy their indoor pool and jacuzzi, with a lovely view of the courtyard. My king size bed room had its own balcony which I also enjoyed. I highly recommend this boutique hotel-like Courtyard. Although it is an older property, it is well maintained and updated. The location is great with easy access to the interstate, yet nicely tucked away amidst trees and lush landscaping. I will return.

This was a typical Marriott Courtyard. The room was comfortable and the location was fine. There were a few restaurants within walking distance. Overall, it is nothing special but not a bad option for a night or two.

We frequently stay at the Courtyard when visiting our daughters family in the area. Usually the best value, even without a complimentary breakfast. Beds are very comfortable, although we prefer pillows that are a bit more firm. Decent size room (with a sofa bed for our grandson). Fitness room is well maintained. Better-than-average free Internet. Staff has always been extremely helpful. Good breakfasts on those occasions when we do eat there. Helpful to have fridge and microwave. Bathroom has nice shower, separate sink area. Quality toiletries.

The rooms were very clean with nice beds. The location is about 15 min from downtown Des Moines. Unfortunately, there were not many early morning breakfast options at the hotel, and the pool was quite crowded and had a warm tub instead of a hot tub.

We stay at this Courtyard often when visiting family, and our grandson invariably wants to stay with us. The bed is quite comfortable. Actually, the sofabed isnt bad either. Decent pillows. A real bath towel. Very good fitness equipment. Nice choice of food options in the Bistro. Staff is very accommodating. Weve tried a variety of places in the West Des Moines/Clive area, but this is our favorite/best value. Only downside is that sometimes we get a fridge and/or microwave; sometimes not.
