We go out on the Flying Connie every year and its always a wonderful experience! Captain Mike and his crew are extremely knowledgeable of the area and its prime spots. Our trip always makes for a fun and enjoyable experience!

Great morning with Captain Mike & First Mate (his son Charlie!) - They set everything up/Broke it all down...we had a blast. Highly recommend if you are looking for charter in the Shoreline CT area.

Hands down the best charter I’ve ever been on. Captain and mate were fun, hard-working and understanding of a broad array of fishing background in our group. But most important they kept us on fish all morning! The striper action was awesome and every guy on the boat caught at least one and some multiple. We ended the trip with some bottom fishing. It was a blast and I will definitely be a returning customer. Tight lines.

Captain Mike had a perfectly prepared trip for us. He knew what was biting, where it was biting, and when it was time to search for new spots. I do not think that the day could have went any better. Everyone caught fish, big fish and numerous fish. His mate Quint worked very hard and knew exactly what he was doing. It seemed like he was everywhere he needed to be at all times. I would recommend this boat and crew to anyone looking to go fishing.

I went out this past week on the flying Connie. The captain Mike and Mate Ed made the trip over the top great.As soon as we stopped the engine we were on the fish. I lost count of how many sea bass we caught amoung other species.They also showed me how to fish for striped bass, a new method only they could ever show me. We caught them until my arms were exhausted.The fish we kept were cleaned and packaged for everyone before we even got off the boat. I said it before and I will say it again. If I could give a 6th star out of 5 I would.

Spent eight hours with these professional fisherman. They set us up for success and we had a fantastic time with my coworkers. They truly are a master of their craft.

From the moment I spoke with Captain Mike I noticed his friendliness and knowledge of deep sea fishing. The experience was phenomenal. Not every captain takes the time to communicate with other fishermen out at sea to find the best spot for fish. We were not disappointed. Had a great trip with Mike and Matt on the Flying Connie! They know all the spots! They showed so much excitement for our catches even though it was a boat full of grown men! We charted the boat on Tuesday the 3rd of October after a conference and it was the best way to unwind! Would recommend the Flying Connie and its crew Mike and Matt! Top notch! My kids and I had an amazing day fishing on the Flying Connie with Captain Mike and Quint. My boys were relatively new to fishing, but Mike and Quint were so helpful that we all had a wonderful time and caught a lot of fish. We cant wait until next summer and our next trip out. Captan Mike on the Flying Connie has the best charter in CT. The Flying Connie is an extremely comfortable vessel. The captain knows everything about his local waters, and really knows how to fish. He is a pleasure to fish with no matter your experience level. With the Flying Connie, you are guaranteed a great experience.

AWESOME experience. Captain Mike is a true pro at his trade. We caught blue after blue after blue all day long. Even caught a couple stripers even though its a slow year for them. Captain Mike had us catching not fishing. Every aspect of the trip was the highest quality, from safety, to expert guidance on how to catch the fish for the specific conditions that day, to education of the local fishing habitat, to filleting the fish at the end of the day, to great camaraderie...everything was well done. Cant wait for our next trip on The Flying Connie!

Fishing with Captain Mike, or CATCHING, as I like to call it, is truly amazing. There is nothing better than boarding Captain Mikes Flying Connie (green DownEast lobster boat) and slowly exiting the waters of Cedar Island Marina trolling for our own bunker just as the sun is about to rise.The numerous times Ive had the pleasure of fishing with Captain Mike are hands down some of my most memorable events on the water (including the time he took my wife and kids out for sea bass and porgies.)While Ive been known to be a tough but fair businessman and customer, I would sum up Captain Mike as a black-belt in all things fishing on the CT Shoreline. The man knows his domain like no other, and is the king of my favorite (size) black sea bass. His attention to detail related to the tide, wind, weather, fish reports, etc., coupled with his safety first mentality are second to none. He clearly represents the finest traits anyone would look for in a captain.The fact that I always have an exceptional, memorable, safe and enjoyable time on board his vessel, coupled with the fact that I always leave with plenty of perfectly filleted fresh fish, makes me feel like a winner at the end of the day.Im proud to say that Im a huge fan of Captain Mike, and the only thing that comes close to the pleasure of fishing with him is enjoying a warm lobster roll with him at the end of the day right around the corner at the Lobster Landing.

I had the chance to fish with Capt Mike on a Sea Bass and Tautog trip. Late season trips can be a little tricky with adverse weather conditions and tough fishing. Capt Mike safely navigated Long Island Sound and kept us on fish ALL DAY LONG! Mike had the magic touch from start to finish. He know exactly where to be during the ever changing conditions. The Flying Connie was equipped with the latest and greatest safety equipment, electronics and Shimano Gear!Highly Recommended!

The first time I went fishing with Captain Mike 10 years ago on the Flying Connie I caught a 30lb striped bass after watching it inhale a live bunker on the surface and I have been addicted to fishing ever since. I have taken my family fishing with Captain Mike at least once each season every year since that first trip. We have had many great trips for striped bass, blackfish, fluke, sea bass (these fish are delicious) and have even done some sharking trips that have created a lifetime of memories for my family and friends. His boat is an extremely seaworthy and fishy 30 Downeaster, that makes fishing in all conditions as comfortable as possible. His crew is always top notch and they are just as good with young kids and first timers as they are with old salts, like me. Even after buying my own boat, I still come back to fish with Captain Mike each year because he is always willing to teach his customers new tactics and help share his expert fishing knowledge. He is also a SHIMANO pro-staffer so you are fishing with the sickest gear possible... seriously, BOOK THE FLYING CONNIE!!!
