Let me first say that my family has done business with the old Eds Meat Processing for years and loved them. We have also done business with Morgans, CD&E and Blankenship Farms so we know how these operations are ran. THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE!! 3yrs ago I took a beef to them and they had golf size fat pieces in my ground beef. 2yrs ago I took a deer and it was wrapped in beef packaging (got real confusing in the deep freezer) This year I took 2 deer in on the same day. They called to tell my deer where done and ready to pick up.. WRONG only 1 was done and the other was somewhere in the cooler they said. I told them they were unorganized and should have had both finished before they called. THIS IS WHERE IT GETS GOOD FOLKS!! THE OWNER called me and said if I was so smart I should open my own processing company and that I was an A**Hole!!Please save yourself the headache and use someone else.. Or hey I may even start my own in a few years!!!
This is some of the best meat in the area and the quality of their work it great. Don’t be fooled by the 1950s building that hasn’t seemed to have changed. I’d rather have great product and delightful service than a fancy building that I can’t eat.The reason Mr. Miller could not get his deer processed is because so many others like and continue to return to Ed’s. It doesn’t make sense to stay clear of a business that provides a great product and is very popular during deer season.I was there today and asked about the price increases and as I suspected, there have been none on processing. The Leonards are the third owners of the business and have built a reputation of great service and good conversation. I have already enjoyed some of the meat I got from them today.
