Update: The store manager contacted us after the review and was VERY compassionate and sympathetic to the situation. He sent us an Amazon card for just taking the call. He invited me to come to the store to repair the band in the same visit. I was informed that the worker that used the hurtful words towards us is no longer employees as she did not reflect the values of the company and had treated others the same. I truly believe they want to turn the experience around.My (now) husband and I were told to make BW James our first stop when we started our engagement ring search in March of 2020. Obviously, this was a wild time so we take this into account. I chose a rose gold ring and he was told it would take quite some time to get that in due to COVID-19 when he went back to purchase in June. He chose a different ring, proposed, then we went back to choose a band. I should also add that my great-grandmother gave me a ring of hers that could be modified into something for me. When we went to the store, they told me that the diamonds could not be used due to size and quality and the gold was “not worth using in anything because of poor quality.” When we didn’t see anything we fell in love with that day, we went to Markman’s in Knoxville after a friend referred us to get one more opinion. We learned that my engagement ring was sized an entire size smaller than what was on the order form we had from when my husband ordered it and that’s why it fit so snugly, not because “my fingers had swollen.” We chose a band that day and they corrected my engagement ring free of charge for me. I do not wear my ring in the pool, I take it off when I’m working, and the white gold is already tinting yellow. My band from Markman’s, that is white gold as well, is in perfect quality. I took the gold from my grandmother’s band to another local store, Sliger’s Jewelers in Athens, and in a week he had made me a beautiful gold band with no problems and I left extremely happy.I know this is a local business which is why we wanted to support it so badly! I have many friends who have had incredible experiences here. I am just sad to say ours was not one of those stories.

Had a great experience here shopping for an engagement ring and later a wedding ring.

My fiance has been terrible about deciding on a ring. Here it is, 11 days before we leave for our wedding and I finally nailed him down on choosing a ring. We looked at BW James Jewelers because he is a big bourbon fan and thought this would be a cool, unique ring that fits him. When I called and talked to Mikaela (sp?) she helped make it SOOO easy to order! (I had to call since we were in crunch time.) Im confident the ring will get here in time and cant wait to see it! Ill post a review on the quality once it arrives, but wanted to post an outstanding review on the customer service!! (Something that is sorely lacking most places these days!)
