Very nice and professional, he took time away from his job to explain in detail the problem and fix. The workers at the shop are also kind and respectful. Dan is the Man, how I regret not knowing him many years ago. He was able to fix a problem that another shop took 2 trys and could not figure out. I will now be a customer for life. Five Star service. Dan is a very knowledgeable and professional repair technician. I drive and older model Bmw truck. Dan was able to diagnose and repair it better then the BMW dealership (For half the price) I strongly recommend Gerber’s European Auto Repair for quality service and repairs!

Take a look at the silver X5 below. Looks nice, right? WRONG. It is cursed by the Lord Satan himself. The only reason it is not slowly grinding itself into the 9-Hells is Dan and the gang at GEAR are fighting it tooth and nail. Dan has managed to sluice out every squeak, rattle and moan this 12 year old Bavarian nightmare makes. I am happy to report that currently the beast is idle after Dan has spent many hours(hours at half the price of the BMW dealership) replacing nuts, bolts and bearings.This shop is great. It is a real throw back to how car repair places used to be. Dan gives you a price and if that price is going to go up he lets you know before things get to deep. 5 Stars, everyone be more like Dan.

Best place to get your German cars serviced!I recently found Dan and took my BMW to him because I had some suspension problems.Dan and his team have all the necessary equipment and knowledge required to work on German cars. He quickly diagnosed what was causing the problem and fixed it at a reasonable price.I also had my battery replaced/programmed and an alignment done.Ill definitely use his services in the future.

Dan is amazing! He is always responsive! He really breaks things down for you so you completely understand what’s wrong with your car and how/why he is fixing it the way he is! Yeah, this is my second 5-Star review for GEAR. What you gunna do about it? I wanted to give them 10-Stars, so mission accomplished.This shop is great and its best attribute is an owner that genuinely seems excited when he figures out the problem that is plaguing your car or truck. If you are any where close to Cleveland, you should be driving past the dealerships to get to this place. You go to the dealership you are going to have someone with half the experience charging you twice the price. (oh, that is a good saying, Dan you can have that one). I sent my parents here with two 25+ year old European cars. Not only did he fix what other shops couldnt even find, he actually listened when I explained the problem and what I thought the cause was and further traced the fault to a second component that caused the first to fail. Now my parents know where to take their old cars for fixes and maintenance after their former mechanics and dealerships stopped even trying.If you have a car that isnt the latest model, dont even think about going to the dealership, theyll never be able to fix it -and keep it fixed- the way GEAR does. This guy is a wizard.

Dan saved the day for me. I drive an older, high-mileage Mini Cooper. I had my front brakes done by the dealership for an exorbitant amount of money some months ago, and then when it came time to have the rear brakes done, Dan was able to do it in about half the time and half the cost. This was after he handled a burnt-out alternator a couple weeks back, again done in 24 hours and for 40% less than the dealers quote.I know that a Mini is not a Mercedes or an Audi, but its still a hard car to get serviced outside of the dealership. Once I found Dan and GEAR, it made my car happier, and my life easier. Thanks Dan!

I am so happy we found Dan and his team at GEAR! I drive a SMART car and there are very few mechanics in town who can work on it. Dan was honest and highly skilled when it came to fixing my car. He was also fair with pricing which I cannot say about the Mercedes dealership. If you have a German made car, this is the place to take it to get serviced/repaired.

Dan does a great job. Dropped my Audi A6 off in the morning for an exhaust problem and he had the work done by noon. Will definitely be using his shop in the future. Good convenient location downtown.

I had a problem with my VW Beetle Diesel that I have been trying to fix for 6 months (hard start in the cold weather). I took it to dealership, and after $1,000, and a request for another $400, I pulled the car out because it was obvious that they didnt know what they were doing. I also took it to several other mechanics that didnt know how to fix the problem.Dan was my last hope!I could tell by talking to Dan over the phone, that he knew what he was doing and understood the fundamentals of a diesel engine. He not only fixed the hard starting in the cold problem, he also fixed a number of other issues with the car. And this was done at a reasonable price.I was very pleased with my experience, and it gives me piece of mind to know that I now have a someone that I can take my car to that I trust and that I know will do an outstanding job every time.

I recently took my 2004 BMW 330ci to GEAR because of a couple oil leaks, engine lights, final stage regulator, new thermostat and front stabilizer links were shot thanks to the lovely potholes here in Cleveland. Dan Gerber, the owner, personally fixed every problem and even suggested fixing a couple other things before they became big problems later on. His pricing was much better than the dealership, and I was very pleased with the service. I highly recommend them for any European auto repairs and I will certainly return in the future!

He does not work on domestic POS cars.No one will go out of their way like Dan in order to get your vehicle fixed correctly and a fair price. Dan is the only mechanic I will ever let touch my Audi.

Its important to be able to trust your technician. So not only is Dan knowledgeable he is honest. He couldve taken advantage but he never has. Repairs are always done right!

If were honest, there are many very good repair shops in Cleveland. The way I found Dan, in fact, was by a referral from another shop I really like. I have a 2002 W210 4MATIC Estate that had some HVAC issues that no one else wanted to touch. The fact that Dan fixed the issues is obvious by now. Whats important is how he approached the job with joy and a clinical, scientific methodology. To top it all off, he did the job at a price that, while not inexpensive, was extremely fair. Dan deserves to charge top-level pricing, because hes a master of his craft. If you have a German car, Dan Gerber is your man.

I have taken my 2003 Mercedes SL500 to Dan twice, and I can say with absolute certainty that I will never take my car elsewhere. I consider Dan to be very fair, upfront, and honest. Thanks Dan!
