My son brought his boat here for storage and access to the bay. The people here are very nice and very helpful. They are making improvements all the time and it looks good. They have a boat mechanic on duty and fuel onsite. The boat has only been here a short time but we like what we see.

Great area to dock and cook out with family. Great customer service, very welcoming, considerable fees. My family had fantastic time! Boat was supplied with extra water & appropriate safety gear. Thorough safety instructions reviewed with family comfortably. Waters were a little choppy yesterday, but lots of sun & great adventure!!😄

Me & 5 friends came here twice, once to kayak and the next day to rent jet skis. The staff was extremely friendly and cool , i enjoyed the young girl who worked here and the man at the desk. The dude who took us jetskiing was fun to be around. I recommend this place.

Staff was absolutely amazing. Very kind and helpful to my dad and I when we rented kayaks for Father’s Day. I will definitely be coming back here. The bay and the coves were very fun to kayak through and we saw a lot of wildlife. They also use Hobie for their kayaks which in my experience is one of the nicest brands. My back didn’t hurt at all for the two hours we were on the water. I highly recommend.

Laid back.You can boat, fish, bbq, kayak, jet ski, or relax..We got our boat in and out of here so breezy and non stressful. Ric is the man and great communication. All the boys at Freedom Boat Club are so helpful.Full of wildlife (manatees swam right up to us) and a good time!And got all you need.. clean bathrooms and a shop with wine, beer, sunscreen, and snacks.We spent 3 of our best days of vacation here.

Parking is a chore on the weekend but they are very accommodating. Decent price to store your boat. Chadwick is very helpful with anything I need, but sometimes on the weekend a lot for one guy to handle.

Awesome pricing and location for kayaking. Most places cost $50+ for a couple of hours of kayaking in the area. We paid $30 for a tandem kayak and got more than enough time out there. We are locals from the area and will be back! The area for kayaking itself is awesome too. You head out through mangroves and then get brought into a large Bay Area by a bridge. On a good day you can catch low tide and hang out on a sandbar like we did. The staff was also very friendly. I think his name was Jeremy (I have a bad memory). Either way he was so friendly, and got us out on the water quickly even though he was very busy. You can also rent boats here too. We talked about the pricing and it seemed very fair. Check this place out!

We really liked it very much. Have seen lots of dolphins in the bay. Staff is very friendly although communication could be little bit better. Boats and equipment are not the latest stuff, but the rates are very competitive. Instructions have been rather poor. Facilities (restroom) very old. Some improvement could turn this into a great business.Overall great experience and had lots of fun. Can really recommend it.

We rented a tandem kayak for 4 hours and enjoyed our trip around the bay. We saw beautiful, colorful condos, manatees and the golf club nearby. We didnt call ahead but Chad set us up on the spot and we were on our way. Best price we could find for kayak rentals with the views we were looking for. Highly recommend! Thanks Chad!

Yesterday I went to cove cay marina to rent a tandem kayak, I was greeted by a gentleman Ill never forget, his name was Chad he treated us like friends visiting and was very patient and kind, I ended up renting a boat instead best prices hands down in the bay area, the equipment in great condition, I loved the experience I had.Thank you Chad and the cove cay crew! I will be definitely be coming back for the boat club!

My boyfriend and I rented a fishing boat last Sunday and I can honestly say we couldnt have been happier with them! Steve was more than helpful on telling us where to go and what to do! The rates are very reasonable and location was perfect! We had most of the bay to ourselves and got to see a few dolphins as the sun went down. Definitely will going back soon!

Hands down, one of my favorite spots for kayaking. Not only have I seen multiple manatees and dolphins in the water; but they have probably the best price for rentals Ive seen on this side of Florida. Also everyone Ive met who works there has been super nice and helpful.

Came here with my family last weekend and it was pretty lit. Told us to go to the left and under the bridge and about 20 minutes in a dolphin came 10 feet from our kayak. Pretty dope to see that type of wildlife not locked up in a tank.

Experienced paddle boarding for the first time at Cove Cay, and what a perfect place to do so. I wasnt but 5 minutes through the channel when I encountered a group of kayakers who called me over to pet a manatee that was popping its head out of the water next to them. Quality boards, friendly staff. Highly recommended!!

Cove Cay has the best kayak rental prices in the area. Chad was very helpful and answered any questions I had. With being a first timer, it was reassuring that I had someone knowledgeable to show me around the kayak along with the best routes to paddle through in the area. I will be back for sure!

Visited this place to do paddle boarding from Groupon website and have to say very accommodating. I was an avid kayakers and felt that the next step would be paddle boarding...however I feel this is not my style. There is just the bay and smaller channels to paddle through without much wildlife or great scenery. Wish it could have more appeal

If I could leave 0 stars I would bc I was so hugely disappointed with our experience. We traveled all the way from New Orleans and expected something totally different. Weve rented boats before and they were by far the most disappointing. The staff was somewhat friendly but the boats are not up to par. Speakers were NOT working so no music, There was NO GPS or depth finder on the boat raising a lot of concerns amongst the group. There also wasnt a gate door on the right side of the boat family time we were going to to rent so there was a concern about our stuff flying off the boat. They did try to accommodate us but we just have a higher standard of rentals and just chose to leave. Thankfully they gave us a refund. You truly get what you pay for so if you want something cheap with little to none amenities this is the spot for you. For us we will be paying for better quality next time. Island Marine Rentals is where we should have went.

Our family rented kayaks and had a blast. Before gettng out of the marina we saw manatees and got better from there. About 10 minutes into our trek, dolphins appeared right next to us and totally made our trip. We were able to stop at shallow islands to rest and the day was wonderful.

I went jet skiing at (we get you wet watersports), nice people to deal with and the wave runners are new 2019 models, very reasonably priced compared to others in the area, I would definitely recommend this hire company for your enjoyment.

There are plenty of kayak rental businesses in the Tampa Bay area, but Cove Kay Marina offers several advantages for customers that the others dont.First, the rates are very good ($30 for a single or tandem kayak for four hours at the time of this review). Most of the other kayak companies charge significantly more for a shorter duration. Also, the staff is not strict about the return times (i.e. they will not charge you a late fee if you happen to return a few minutes late). On a recent outing, I got lost in the canals and was 30 minutes late on return. The staff was very understanding and did not penalize me for my stupidity.The key advantage that Cove Cay Marina has over the competition is the quality of the kayaks they use as rentals. They use Hobie kayaks, which retail for around $1300. This may not seem important to the casually kayaker but for those of us who kayak on a regularly basis, we know that trying to kayak for long distances using the cheap, bathtub like kayaks that other companies offer is a miserable experience. For this reason alone, I will not rent a kayak from other companies because I dont want to expend all my energy attempting to paddle these monstrosities in a straight line. Hobie kayaks are very stable and easy to paddle, even out in the open bay where you will encounter currents, waves and wakes.Finally, you the choice of two very different kayaking experiences to choose from. If you are of the brave variety, you can venture out into the open ocean and possibly spot dolphins or do some fishing. If you prefer a more relaxing, scenic route, you can navigate through the canals amongst the mangroves and birds that populate the area. I have found that with other kayak companies, you can only one option to choose from (e.g. river, open water, etc).For these reasons, I STRONGLY suggest using Cove Kay Marina as you primary kayaking destination.
