Purchased a Specialized electric bike from these guys in January 2021. Was happy that they had the exact bike I wanted in stock, despite shortages, and Mike was a straight-shooter as far as salesman go. Follow-up service has been five-star as well.

Go here if you want bad service and rude treatment. Returned 3X with flats, shouldve known better than to give them one more chance, they did not diagnose the problem properly, said my tires were fine when they were wearing thin and needed to be replaced. The second time I went to them they did not even replace the slow leaking tube they just put air in it. Yesterday I was kicked out for not donning the face diaper. Pear shaped beta male who knows nothing about health except what CDC tells him stuck a mask in a face and said wear it or leave. Dont the mindless sheep have the Jab and their boosters; why do the Vaxxers need to care about my right to breathe freely if they got their experimental dose of mRNA technology? Do NOT give your business to this authoritarian run shop, incompetent and idiotic and not wanting you to breathe freely.

Love this place and been using them for tune ups on my Trek road bike for 10 years. Just had a tune up back in April. Stopped in today after a ride as the shifting mechanism wouldnt go up into the fastest gear. Just kept clicking. Mike was working and he made the adjustment. I rode around the block testing it and it still wouldnt shift into that gear. He adjusted again and it worked. No charge. Quick, fast and easy and it was fixed.

This is a great bike shop. Have dealt with them for years and purchased many bikes. Just had a 90 day service on a new purchase and again they did a terrific job. All the staff is engaged in making the customer happy.

You can quickly tell who the staff views as spenders.If you didnt purchase your bike there originally you are told they CANT do anything for you. What they mean is that they wont.Meanwhile they are befriending peoples children that are in there buying overpriced helmets and clothing.First time in. Love to support local but a business model like this is why its dead.

Seems like a good shop, especially for accessories. They agreed that the bike I chose was the correct one, but would not have it in stock for a few months. I did find it in stock in a shop around the corner. But will likely get my helmet there

Called looking for some information and maps on how to access local trails from my home. Ian explained to me the step-by-step moves to access the Ream Wilson Clearwater Trail. This call wasn’t generating any revenue for the shop, but local, expert knowledge is priceless for a new resident. Great job, Ian! You all have earned my business for life!

Bought a bicycle here, dropped little over $400 and within a month I started having complications. Got into an accident due to mechanical failure that almost landed me in the hospital.My chain is already having issues, my handles bars started slipping up and down, making it impractical to ride anymore, steel frame is rusting (which means the metal isnt steel), tires have gone flat on me, and honestly Im just waiting for this thing to fall apart on me.Was told I can bring it in for a refund within 30 days, called to verify and they told me Nope, seven days.Dont buy anything from here! Theyll cheat you out of your money and just waste your time while potentially putting your life in danger. If I could give no stars I would.

I have been coming to Chainwheel Drive for my bikes for many years. I have always been a very satisfied customer. Recently I purchased an expensive mountain bike and after having it for two days realized that I wanted to trade it in for a lesser priced bike of the same brand. The store promptly agreed with no discussion whatsoever and replace the bike with the one I wanted and gave me a refund for the difference.Service and follow up has always been excellent.

Longstanding bike shop with outstanding products and services. Just bought my 3rd bike there, Specialized SL7 Tarmac Ultegra Disc Di2. Mike set up the bike and dialed it in and Tom worked hard on upgrades. Store has lots of bikes, equipment and clothing and great service. Highly recommended.

If you want to be ignored for 30 minutes and you are older than 65 go to this store.The floor people. including one service personnel, in this store were abrupt and nearly rude and sent the strong signal that they had no desire to consult with someone over 55.My advice ...find another bike shop.

Fantastic experience! I couldnt find the bike I wanted in any local shop so we drove 2.5 hrs to pick it up at Chainwheel Drive after I purchased it online. Gil was pleasant, patient, and thorough in answering all of my questions. My husband also wanted to test a few bikes and Gil was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. It was a great experience and well worth the drive for our new Specialized Sirrus bikes :) Thank you Gil and Chainwheel drive! I have been a customer at the Palm Harbor store for a few years now. I came in the first time for a tube and tire. This year I walked out with new bikes for my wife and I. Helpful, friendly staff that wants to make sure you are on the right bike for you.

Cool bike shop. Its clean and orderly, the people are friendly and very helpful. I took my bike in to get the tubes replaced. I was scheduled rapidly, they took the bike and it was ready when they said it would be. Later, I realized theyd adjusted my gears as well! Id mentioned I needed to get it done but since this was the day before a holiday I didnt want to miss the chance of getting the bike back before they closed. Well, they did it for me - for free! I will definitely be back!

I wish I could give 10 stars. Ian was beyond helpful. He is extremely knowledgeable about both the mechanics of bicycling and the related human anatomy, and thats coming from a med school student. I brought my bike in and he could tell right off the bat what my issues must be. He then explained the problem with certain big name brand bikes and he guided me to the ideal bike for my height, weight, and build. He also allowed me to test ride it, and, voila, all my issues were resolved. I didnt feel the fatigue that normally came with my old bike, and my posture felt much less aggressive.My only concern was the price tags on the bikes. However, when you consider all the complimentary services included in the purchase price, it is well worth the deal. Beyond that, the staff are extremely friendly and courteous in their business. These people make me WANT to ride a bike. Even my mom couldnt get me to do that.

I bought a Trek in 2006 from Chainwheel Drive and wanted to go back again for a new bike. I liked my Trek, but was looking for something lighter in weight. All of the staff is knowledgeable, however I have to mention Ian. He took quite a bit of time with me, asking questions and really listening to me. His personal customer service was exceptional and was able to guide me to the perfect bike. When I went to pick it up, Ian was not there. Alyssa helped me and she as well gave great customer service.I also have to say, the service department is very precise in their work.

Friendly service ...I got a bike tire and tube here for a great price and very nice product, but the selection wasnt great. They didnt have what I seen online and came for and also a bit pricy on bike bags and similar products.

Wife and I brought our bikes in for maintenance (which they were in serious need of). Brian took care of us. Made sure we knew exactly what was needed to be done and I have to say, when we picked them up, they have never ridden better. Seriously, since the day we owned them as brand new bikes they felt better riding after our Chainwheel Drive experience. Will be returning for more maintenance in the future. Highly recommended.

If youre feeling like anything is off in the comfort, efficiency, and power of your rides, stop by and see Mike and get a proper fitting done. He made the smallest adjustments on my bike and, literally, overnight I experienced a 1.6 mph increase in my speed, with less effort than before. My only regret is that I didnt go and have this done sooner. Thx Mike.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Googled the Palm Harbor store this morning and ordered a tube for my bike. Talked to woman that was holding it for pick up under our name. Waited in line outside for 20 plus minutes (not a problem because I understand the Covid 19 rules). When it was finally my turn, there was a woman that asked what I was there for, I told her, then she was gone a really long time. In the meantime, other associates started waiting on other people behind me until the line was completely empty while I stood in 90 degree temps. She finally comes out and says she didnt talk to us this morning and are you sure you called our store, yes, called the number attached to your store. She said, well we have a Clearwater store maybe the call went there and its not our fault if that happens. HERES THE PROBLEM......ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS YOUR JOB, FIX IT, YOU CALL THE CLEARWATER STORE FOR US AND SEE IF THERE WAS AN ORDER THERE FOR US. NO, APPARENTLY, YOU WANTED US TO DO THAT AND DEBATE IT. AT THIS TIME, I WAS TICKED OFF TO SAY THE LEAST. WASTE OF TIME BECAUSE YOU SHOULD HAVE ADDRESSED THAT WITH ME WHEN YOU FIRST CAME TO ME TO SAY YOU DIDNT HAVE THE ORDER AT YOUR STORE. I DONT KNOW YOU HAVE OTHER STORES, TELL ME THAT FROM THE BEGINNING WHEN YOU COULDNT FIND OUR ORDER, MAKE SENSE. Dropped by this morning with one of my used bikes which had a couple of problems that I couldnt figure out. Dean diagnosed the problems instantly and handled it while educating me on how to spot this problem in the future. Great customer service that is always willing to help no matter how small the problem is. It doesnt matter who in the service department that I ask a question of, theyve always give me the answer. For example last week I asked Lance how to maintain the shifters on my hybrid bike and it worked when I went home. Also I buy all my parts for my vintage bikes at Chainwheel drive and if they dont have them, the service technician will take the time to look it up and order the parts for me. Again excellent service that I can count on.

I bought an AWESOME bike here! I got the last Gran Corsa, 2015 model, they had at a great price. Ian is very easy to talk to with whatever questions Ive had. And the guys in the back, repairs and whatnot, are are also great.

Great experience! Purchased a road bike after several demo rides. Mike W was very informative and patient in steering me into the right bike and accessories while staying in my budget. I keep thinking I can buy an accessory cheaper online and then end up back in the store to get just what I need with expert advice, at competitive prices, installed for free if I want. I have been in the store several times and never experienced any of the negatives others have noted in their reviews...maybe those were issues of the past. Very satisfied customer.

I went here for a bike fit due to numerous problems on my 2019 Tarmac. Mike was amazing and I could tell from the minute I stepped in the door I was in the right place. He sized me up, began measuring, and tweaked everything for about an hour. Long story short...My bike which I was suffering on somehow became comfortable. I couldnt imagine doing 30+ miles on it let alone a century. It is an entirely different bike now. His knowledge and professionalism has won them a return customer for sure...now to talk about those sweet sweet Atomik Carbon wheels...

I bought a $600 Trek bike from this shop 12 years ago and I gave it to a friend in another state, when it would not fit in the POD on our move back to the area. Today, I decided to stop in the shop and I was treated like royalty. Actually, the customer service has improved from 12 years ago. I had no intentions on buying a bike, but fixing up an old one I bought off Facebook. Honestly, after being treated so nicely and being quoted a fair price on a bike built for a tall guy like me, I just might buy another bike from this shop. Another bike shop I stopped in, the store clerk came running out and confronted me like I was going to steal a bike. Chainwheel Drive for all my future biking needs!
