Been a member here since 2018 and best gym I have ever been too! Great staff and atmosphere is amazing! Keep up the great work!!

Your average gym thats a little long in the tooth. Like most Golds Gyms, this one primarily appeals to the weight lifting crowd. Decent size and rather sad that its the best gym in Clayton, but in some ways not surprising. My understanding is by the fourth quarter of 2021 they will be relocating to refurbishef facility thats fresher and larger. Hopefully it will have equipment from this century, as well.

Worked out here for 2 years. Great staff. Great equipment. Courteous gym-goers. Plenty of room/space. Peak hours can get crowded, i just avoid them. Something for everyone; free weights, machines, bikes, stairmasters, treadmills, zoomba room, crossfit area (tho small). Not much else to say.

Love the staff and facility! Been great to have a place to workout during the crazy lockdowns.

Just had a workout with a buddy at this gym. I loved how clean it was, how open it was and the atmosphere was appealing as well. Definitely worth a try.

This is your typical golds gym, and still Kinda has that old-school feel. Decent atmosphere and a few people who come to train hard with a purpose for competition or just to be fit. There are a few who don’t understand the rules about putting things back where they got them from and taking care of the facilities like it was their own. Things are relatively clean and or eventually put back by the staff each day. If you were an early bird 3 to 6 AM is the best time to get in there and really grind.

Nice gym, decent equipment, but gets absurdly hot! I like it to be a little warmer, helps sweat out more- but this is almost to a dangerous level! As much I like the gym, just can’t deal with the heat

Always enjoy the folks at the Clayton Golds. Nigel and company always make sure Im well taken care of. The facilities are nice and it doesnt feel like youve stepped into some pretentious watered down facility.

This Gym is desperate for money. Cancelled contract with a 30 day notice during the pandemic. Nigel (part owner) requested proof of reasoning for cancellation and once provided still wants to take money while gym is still not fully operational. Please avoid this gym as Nigel is not upholding the cancellation policy for Golds Gym!! Nigel recommend that you Dispute charges with Gold’s gym if you don’t want payments taken even after you have sent cancellation notice and medical release from utilizing Golds Gym.I do not recommend this Gym.

Although this is a little bit older of a gym there is a lot of equipment and a lot of free weights. The staff is also very friendly.

This is the worst gym in the area. When asking about a membership Nigel was so rude! He told me I had to pay $75 a month to go to this gym when the Golds Gym in Fuquay is only $39 a month. I was unaware that these two locations are separate but he could’ve at least explained nicely instead of laughing whenever trying to talk to him. He is so unprofessional and rude. On top of that, none of the employees are wearing masks. They’re not even following governor coopers mandate. Will not be going back. Especially when the location in fuquay is cheaper, and it’s NEW.

Got in a great workout here. Looking forward to using this gym a bit more due to covid. Driving all the way from Durham is worth it.

Great gym but price is way to high..Me and my husbands membership was around $70 monthly. We were okay with the price because the gym was amazing in general. But they require you to pay by card. And every month they said the card wasnt going through so we got locked out and had to go at business hours and pay an additional $30 so we were paying $100 a month. Definitely played us a couple months. We found a better gym for a better price.

Golds Gym in Clayton NC is outstanding. They have social distancing set in place, the gym is clean and all of the members respect each other and all of the equipment.

Love the hours, the theater room, the locker room and love that its not crazy pack like other gyms. Really like the different gym areas there are for you to workout. They do offer a variety of classes and youll get email reminders of classes and any changes.

Golds is great. I go early in the morning so I dont deal have to deal with the staff or others that are there just to socialize. It is one of the only Gyms with 24hrs access and that is a big bonus. If the equipment breaks it is fixed promptly as possible. I have been to other gyms where the equipment stays broke for months. They could hire a cleaning person to come in nightly or have the staff clean the bathrooms before they leave and this is almost always never done. When I first joined seemed like restrooms were cleaned nightly. I get there at 4 in the morning so they cant tell me somebody cleaned before they left. Overall good gym. Good Equipment. Always updated equipment. For the price I pay I get my moneys worth no doubt.

I know there up and down review but it’s a gym with sweaty people . The owner finally cleaned house with his employees... Hired new employees that care about the place and got new equipment. I’m happy with gym so screw the bad review go somewhere else ..Have A Happy Golds Gym Day

I came from out of town for work and used my travel pass at Golds Gym, Clayton. The staff was GREAT and everyone was helpful in getting me acclimated to my surroundings and where things were.Both staff and members were kind and respectful. Nice to see in this world. I will be sure to go back when Im in town. Robert

Truck got broke into during a workout. dark dimly lit parking lot with no security cameras. bathrooms are nasty like a I95 truck stop. staff is virtually non existent and usually more interested in talking to women than anything else. only good thing is that it is 24 hours a day access, if your car doesnt get broke into while your inside..

I love my gym Ive been here since they opened and I was a member 3 yrs before it became Golds. Since Golds took over they replaced a lot of equipment and expanded the entire facility. My husband and I are completely happy here!

Good gym. Opened even when other gyms were closed.Manager and employees are cool.

Manager is unbelieveably rude. He has no awareness of what customer service and good management is. Just stopped in to inquire and was spoken down to and treated incredibly rude. He has an attitude about him. He spoke negatively about my inquiry to the front desk person with me standing right there and then proceeded to make a rude comment to my face. I was inquiring about trying the gym once before signing up for membership and was told this gym is not for me. Who says that?!?! Steer clear. There are gyms that are properly managed and this is not one of them!!!! I want to work out where my business is appreciated. I would never give business to someone who has absolutely no people skills, communication skills, or customer service skills. Here is some advice from a business management person to another...you need some serious business education and training.

Awesome gym! Great, updated weights and equipment. Best part is that it has 24 access which means you workout on your time instead of rearranging your schedule to fit in during the gyms time.

I dont hate it but its ok.

Would have given 5 stars but the Womens shower area is gross. Mold in the showers, doors dont close so water on the floor, debris on the floor that was there for three weeks, shower heads need replacing. The monthly fee is pricey, you pay an additional yearly maintenance fee so there is no reason for the deplorable conditions. Not a lot of parking. On the plus side, there is plenty of cardio equipment, workout machines, weights. They do have several classes available and is open24 hours a day. You dont have to wait to get your workout done.

I go here and it does what it is supposed to do. They are doing some renovations now but they do not interfere with your workout. Some free classes to and has lockers and showers

I had a pretty disappointing experience with Golds Gym. First off, the price was advertised at a pretty reasonable cost, then when I went in, I was told the lowest they could offer me was significantly higher than the advertised price because they build each plan around their customers, which isnt accurate because I only use a treadmill and the free weights. Fast forward a couple months and I am ordered to move to Missouri (I am military and presented them my orders), and I tell Golds Gym, and they tell me that they still charge me for an extra month even though I wont be in NC any more. Overall, Golds Gym was very disappointing. They are not military friendly, the staff are rude and unprofessional (the manager just hits on women), and make any promise to get you to sign. I would not recommend this gym to anyone.

Its a great place to go and get a full workout. They have free weights, weight machines, and cardio equipment. Also, you can get that extra motivation in a group fitness class.

Its open 24 hours a day and has everything I need for a solid workout.

Massive turnaround in the last 6 months. Great 24 hour gym and the only gym thats close that has enough room and equipment for everyone. Back room is great for serious lifters.

Lets talk about this gym. First parking is not great. During busy hours, 5 and on its a nightmare. This facility is really geared towards men. So not really a family atmosphere. 3 of us paid $90.00 each to work out for 30 days, so pretty high prices. The equipment is ok. Some things are outdated. The music is loud. The bathrooms were not as clean as I prefer. Next door is a juice vibes which is nice. You can grab a protein smoothie befor or after a work out. Traffic is bad on 70 around 5-7:30. This gym is 24 hours, so an early workout is best if you want to avoid traffic, crowds, and parking problems. I think Clayton really needs some better options to encourage healthy lifestyles. 2 stars is being nice.

Buy your own equipment. It will at least work when you need it

Great gym that offers an awesome discount for Fluor employees. Doesnt have everything most Golds have but is very accommodating. The trainers are excellent!

Great place. awesome equipment. The staff is very nice but should consider that everyone isnt the same. Having Asperger Syndrome I may not smile much and I couldnt help but feel slightly offended by the sarcasm and joking about me not smiling much. Ive been bullied enough in life about it. But I understood it wasnt meant in a negative or hurtful way. Hopefully I can enjoy working out here without feeling as if any more jokes are going to be made about it. Seems like a fantastic environment plus the theater is defiantly a bonus.

If I could give zero stars I would...I get a letter in the mail from their lawyer saying I owed them $42 dollars yes 42 dollars...no phone calls to correct this at all!! The manager acted like she could give a crap less!! Good job golds gym so disgusted!!

Just got a membership there. It was clean and equipment was plentiful. Staff was awesome during my visit. Plus its 24hrs.

Best part of the gym are the bodypump classes with Monica. Amazing!

I called the gym today to ask about contracts and month to month pricing. The person who answered named Wendy told me I had to come in because pricing ranged from $17 to $79 a month depending on what I wanted. I said I want a month to month membership with no contract, what will this cost me and she started getting rude. She said I had to come in, she has to customize the program and she wont give me a clear price if I dont come in to see her.I called corporate headquarters and hit 0, 3, 2 to make a complaint. The lady came on the phone and said they dont have prices or take complaints and she was sorry the Golds Gym in Clayton didnt want to help.If you want a gym thats polite, wants to work with you and wants business then dont go here.

GREAT equipment!! 24hr access!(but...the staff needs more training on their acknowledgment& greeting of members as enter/exit of facilities, instead of talking on cellphones or surfing computers!!!

My favorite place to go. The staff is wonderful. The machines are great. Love that you have internet n your own tv on some of the machines.i can watch what i want while i work out. I look forward to going litterally any time day or night. Love the free samples at the front desk. Love doing wieght training on the machines. Its very clean

Ive been going to the gym for over a month now. I love this gym. The staff is super friendly, the equipment is always clean (which is super important to me) and the classes are awesome! So happy I canceled my Planet Fitness account for this gym. All the equipment have TVs as well, which is convenient if you wanna just zone out while doing cardio. I dont understand all the negative reviews, the only negative thing I would even have to say is the room for classes is sometimes a tight squeeze, but thats not even a huge deal.

At first I had a very negative experience with Golds Gym, but I got a personal phone call from the owner himself and we were able to work something at. It was a very frustrating process but I was overall happy with how it ended. The phone call meant a lot.

Great for serious lifters and everyone else too. They dont have the pool and steam room but they have everything else including dumbbells to 150 lbs and a cardio theatre. Big free weight area and lots of cardio machines

The service at Golds Gym is terrible. When Gemma the sales lady for Golds Gym came to Clayton Tire and Muffler she signed up 11 people. Everyone that worked there was promised a T-Shirt and the management was promised all sweatshirts. We never received them. We contacted Tim at Golds Gym and asked him about it and he never called us back. Now we are at present time and want to cancel our memberships and Golds Gym is gonna charge us 25.00 per person gym fee and our normal monthly fee for the next month after we cancel. I will never go back to this gym and if anyone ask me about this gym I will not recommend them. Golds Gym wants you to do your part but they wont stand behind what they say. Make life easier on yourself and go to Clayton Fitness!!!!!!!!!!

Signing up was a breeze, payment plan was easy to understand...if you pay more towards principal at signing you have a lower monthly payment if you put no money down it can be around 42 some a month. Cancelling was also a breeze and the staff has always been friendly...being 24 hours is nice as well. However this is probably the dirtiest gym Ive ever been to, especially the cardio equipment. Theres not really a warm up area or any mats to use to stretch out. All the equipment seems really old and the stair climber machines barely worked if they were working at all. The weight room is probably the nicest part about the gym, they usually play different music from the main gym which is nice bc Id rather listen to Chevelle when lifting vs Taylor Swift. Locker rooms only have 2 regular shower stalls and one handicap, no sauna or steam room or anything fancy. Just overall wasnt worth the money I was paying considering I paid the same for O2 and that place was imacculate, with better equipment and amenities. That is all.

Management in this place is very rude, poor customer service. They dont care about you only your money. If you ever wanted to cancel, forget it they will not let you do it. Price is way too high.

They have a cardio theater room so you can watch movies while doing your cardio. Great group fitness classes at no extra cost! Kids Cove Child Care to watch your little ones while you work out! Free WiFi! Its a great gym!
