Has the dumbest dress code. I came here to workout in what I’m comfortable in, (Leggings and a large, full coverage sports bra) but that’s not acceptable here.I thought I signed up to workout in a gym with grown people minding their own business. But apparently, we’re back in middle school, and an inch of skin shown is too much of a distraction. As long as everyone is covered, why not wear what you’re comfortable getting your best workout in?Not to mention the indoor pool has windows into the gym.. so we can fully see everyone in their bathing suits. But I guess that’s okay.. only make working out less enjoyable? Makes sense.I wish I would’ve spent my money somewhere more focused on me getting my best work in and less on the way I look doing it.The last huge annoyance about all of this, is I signed up for this membership wearing leggings and a sport bra! But if course, they didn’t mention it then.

Love this place! So many different options to help you get in shape and personal trainers as well. Worth every penny of the membership price.

After completing a contract for a year in which i sign for, and moving to another city in which I can no longer using this service, you would expect that it could auto-cancel after completing the term. Just to find out that they auto-renew their contract no matter what and have to provide proof. I just want out of this

I have always been impressed with the Clarksville Athletic Club!!! The associates you encounter coming into the club are some of the greatest people you will encounter hands down!!! Everyone that works here are truly amazing, friendly and go out of their way to answer any questions or concerns. The members are usually friendly and like anywhere you have a few exceptions to the rule. I have been a member for over 11 years now and was employed for a few of those years. I found the instructors to be friendly and very helpful. In my opinion there is no other place in Clarksville that offers you all the Athletic Club gives. There is something for everyone here if you haven’t given the Athletic Club a try come in for a tour. James is one of the managers that handles the front desk personnel. You can never judge a book by its cover he is amazing. Honest and upfront of course he is retired military there is a heavy presence of military personal that are members. I definitely would recommend the Athletic Club if you are looking for a fitness home.

Most high priced gym in town and literally not allowed to do anything any type things serious lifters do and I’ll explain .. no chalk allowed to deadlift with. today I’m trying to mobility strectch with socks on no shoes, you know stretch right. and I’m outta the way of everyone of course I get told I can’t do that here?! This place is worse then planet fitness for four times the cost!! And I’d leave this gym now but they make cancelling ur contract impossible… so avoid at all costs it’s not worth your time or money

Positive environment with plenty of equipment to get you where you want/need to be!

Stopped by this facility with my significant other to check out getting a membership. This gym is the loudest gym I’ve ever stepped foot in. Not that gyms are supposed to be quiet, but I’ve never had to yell to communicate in a gym before. It was like being in a dance club. It was extremely crowded and didn’t look easy to get a machine. So if you have moderate to severe PTSD or your loved one does just beware. There’s also a lot of high egos in this gym and definitely lots of steroid use to the point it was comical to people watch. We were also told that we had to be married to be on a family plan even though we live together. I would have to pay the $49 single rate and my significant other would have to pay the $79 family rate. However, from looks alone, the staff in childcare did seem to be very involved with the children while watching them. The facility does look state of the art, but we saw more negatives than positives and will be joining the Y instead.

Best gym for families!!! Price is extremely low for my self and 4 kids (only $84 with a little added discount for being active duty). Indoor and outdoor pools, movie cardio room, kids center with TONS or fitness classes for them. Awesome amount of classes, free weights, machines, indoor track, indoor basketball court, and more! Me and my kids love it here!

So, my wife and I joined Clarksville Athletic Club in April 2019. While signing our contract/agreement, I was advised Id be unable to workout until I had clearance from my Physician, due to medical history, my age and my height/weight. It took me a couple of months to get in to see the Doctor and get their paperwork back to them. Timing was off and work-related travel made it difficult for me to use the facilities but my wife continued to go and loved the classes (Zoomba, etc). Fast forward to the changing of everything in our World and the global pandemic. The gym was closed for a considerable amount of time but we understood and even agreed to still pay our dues so they could continue paying their employees. We thought it was the right thing to do. In April 2021, I pulled out our agreement and looked it over. I assumed, our 24 month period having ended, our contract had ended, too. We hadnt been there in more than 10 months. Today, I noticed we were STILL being charged? I called in, got through the automated system to a young lady who I advised I felt Id been erroneously charged. She asked for my name and I provided it. She asked for a minute to be able to pull their copy of my contract/agreement. When she came back to the phone, she informed me Id been moved to a month to month membership/charge. I asked why and she rather rudely/pointedly stated it was part of my contract/agreement. I flipped my paperwork over and in the incredibly FINE print (so small it can barely be read w/o a magnifying glass) ... she directed me to addendum 13 which states that Clarksville Athletic Club can continue a membership in this manner. She tried to tell me I would have been told this. I was NOT told this!!! She then told me Id initialed #13, acknowledging that Id been informed of this. Curiously, though, I can see ALL handwriting on the front of the agreement/contract, I see NO INITIALS next to #13 ... not even faint print. So, I asked her how to stop this and she said send us a certified letter stating you wish to cancel. Seems this is an unnecessary step but it is obvious, though, we helped them during the pandemic, theyre not particularly given to caring about that now. She wasnt interested in helping. Ill get this mess corrected and the charges will be stopped! Because of this, and the rude manner in which I was spoken to, I do NOT recommend joining Clarksville Athletic Club. If you do join, get a magnifying glass for the fine print or ask them to read EVERY single provision of your contract/agreement. Better to be safe than sorry!!!

Love working out here, spacious. The classes are good for that extra burn, zumba, yoga, pilaties!

The Athletic Club offered a Parents night out so we took Advantage of the opportunity. My daughter absolutely loved it and she got the chance to play basketball with Trenton Hassell aside from that they played various games and the instructors really kept them busy. Having a gym that coordinates around their customers needs is priceless. Thank you.

First, if you have to cancel for any reason then you need to know that only the owner can, or will, cancel your membership. You will need to show up in person on a weekday during work hours. Even then it’s hit or miss and the owner will not return phone calls or emails, even if the staff tells you that he will. If you think your will need to cancel for any reason, then go somewhere else, anywhere else. And when you do finally succeed in canceling, they will charge you for one last month and refuse to prorate. Consider it your exit fee.My family and I wanted to enjoy our membership, but this was quite a disappointing experience. The equipment is a bit older and the cardio equipment is generally outdated. Don’t expect smart machines that log or upload your efforts and there aren’t any fans to direct on you if you’re going for a longer cardio workout.The pool was closed for work during much of our membership and we were not offered any discount for that. We were also not offered a refund due to COVID when the gym shut down completely for months. Other members were offered refunds, but we were not. When I confronted gym staff they said I had to talk to the owner, but only in person on weekdays, which was not possible for me due to my work schedule.Also, during our introduction were led to believe it was family friendly, so we committed to a two year membership, but it really was not a pleasant environment. My wife and I were harassed by staff on multiple occasions for allowing our 11 and 14 year old boys to play basketball while we were nearby on treadmills and watching them the whole time. Meanwhile, it was ok for parents to sit in the bleachers on their phones, totally ignoring their kids. I brought this up, but the gym staff just said it was the owner’s policy. This makes no sense and was not explained in our walk through.Finally, this is a great place to go if you like to wait in line at the door. Unlike every other gym I’ve been a member of, the owner requires staff members to scan you in because you can’t be trusted to do it yourself, so you’re stuck standing in line while they get a basketball for someone, register a new guest, or do any number of other tasks.

The Gym and pool are very nice.... however I moved states and thought I canceled my membership. They said I have to do it in person and Im not flying 1,300 miles just to cancel something that was already supposed to be canceled. I been back and forth calling them 4 times now.

The gym and the equipment is amazing and they have a nice facility, but the customer service is horrible. They were so rude during the snow in. I understand that their hours are dependent on weather, but they answer the phone like they don’t want to be at work or something. We pay a lot of money to go to this gym. All I ask for is good customer service. This gym would be a 5-star gym if the employees actually cared about people, and some type of notification system for customers would be amazing so they won’t have to answer the phone like jerks.

Been a member here 20 years now, and have nothing but praise for the staff, the amenities and the value. A great place to meet and keep your fitness goals in a family-friendly atmosphere.

So many rules!! I brought my boys, 13 and 10, to shoot hoops while I workout within view of them. Nope! I had to stop and watch them due to other kids wondering off. This is not a family friendly place. And now they have to sit/stand by each machine while I am working out. Yes, they could workout with me but sometimes I need a break. Do NOT waste your money here.

Ive been a member of this athletic club since it opened its doors. Thus, you can readily tell Im loyal to it. My biggest complaint that after all these years is the organization needs to improve on customer service. One fellow, whom I believe is some type of manager, probably needs to be fired. Hes the worst; has a very rude attitude. Hes very demeaning to the employees. Horrible.

Will never go back . Too many rules , me and a few friends tried to pickup a half court game because the other full court was taken . We waited to sub in the next game tried to play half court and were told we couldn’t ... Everyone was playing that wanted to and we were having fun , didn’t understand the reasoning behind it . Definitely never getting a membership

I signed up for a 3 month trial membership to this gym. I’ve been trying to cancel my membership here. I called and they said I needed to come in to sign to cancel. I went in to sign and cancel but since the director wasn’t there I couldn’t cancel or sign. What a joke. I have children in virtual school and can’t make it there. They have no issues taking your money out of your account every month but will not work with you. Poor service. Poor management (Brad) Poor employee (Casey)

Love this place. They have everything. Theres even a little machine in the womens locker room that puts your wet bathing suit through a spin cycle so its almost dry before you leave.

Beware! In order to cancel the membership you have to be in person. Not over the phone. Had to leave due to an emergency and still making monthly payments because they dont want to cancel over the phone.

I tried to get prices on line plus over the phone and I was told you cant do either one. The had a special ending today with no enroll fee but you can only do that by coming in. I spoke with 2 people on the phone and they seemed to careless about it. Basically saying the is the policy and they couldnt do anything. They would only give me round about prices. Maybe $100 or maybe $200, that is a big difference in my opinion. Diffidently seems like a place that doesnt care about service!

OVERALL: I want to like this place more and give it a higher rating, but Im sticking with 3 stars because of how long Ive been going (since before 2010). Fast-forward to now and all the equipment is the same - though extremely worn down, many not working correctly, and everything is rusty/dirty. Replacement is long over-due.STAFF: I want to love the staff, but the majority seem so snobby. Try to be friendly and you get met with a blank expression that makes you feel like youre an inconvenience. A gym is one of the primary places where you want a staff that communicates well, is friendly, and is engaging with its members - not a staff that acts like they dont even want to be there.FINAL THOUGHTS: As expensive as this gym is, I would expect/appreciate allocating the money towards improving the quality of equipment and keeping the standard high.

My kids and I loved coming the Athletic Club! They have wonderful kids programs and equipment. I moved during quarantine and their customer service was great with getting the membership canceled. I would highly recommend!

A great variety of workout machines!

Our kids love the kids classes but and this is a huge but people brag about bringing siblings of sick kids in. This was a constant occurrence, people would rather work out than stay home with sick kids. We picked up more illness than not from here. Definitely not worth it.

This is the best gym in the clarksville area. Hands down with classes on zumba to spinning and more child care while you work out included how can you loss love the staff and the full basketball court.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced at a gym. Plenty of employees and management on site, but never have time to assist you.Nothing diligent about them, they act as thou it is a issue to assist.Jacuzzi hasnt worked sense signing up, equipment is outdated and sometimes difficult to maneuver.Sonas do not get as hot as other facilities, bathrooms smell of mildew, locker rooms always to hot and the floors are always dirty.There is one available hydration station in the whole facility(which is quite large)

2 years ago this place looked very good, but today the place looks dirty, the machines full of dust, it seems that this is helping the machines not work at their best. Yesterday they installed a machine that they had repaired and none of the members in charge was able to clean the machine, when I went to use it the machine was quite dirty. I asked for a hand sanitizer for one of the rooms and I left the place almost 3 hours later and they did not place the hand sanitizer the same with the hand towels

I wouldnt sign up for anything with these people.They where shut down for awhile and still charged for membership fees. They claim to refund but have not. I moved when they was shut down and have not been to the club in months and they say i have to drive 3 hrs to sign a paper to cancel. At the same time they still wont refund. If you are military and dont plan on being around for a yr steer clear or you I am sure will have the same issues Bad Business

4 Days Later - Swimsuit wringer and handicap shower handle repaired 😊😊 definitely on the road to 5 Stars.2-days later the pool has been well vacuumed and my exercise bike fixed. Someone is listening 😊 Im upping my rating.Trainers are helpful but maintenance is sub par I m currently sitting on an exercise bike with a loose pedal that I have reported to 3 staff members over 10 days. It has a loose 5/16 inch bolt and could be fixed in 2-3 minutes. The swim suit dryer is again falling off the wall and needs to be lifted and held in place to function. The handle on the handicap shower is almost non functional. Vacuuming the pool is a hot or miss function as debris gathers along the walls. Pool tile and lane ropes are coated with calcium build-up. 10% Exercise Equipment cushions /pads need reupholstering.

I love to have so many options to enjoy exercising, from squash to basketball, from swimming to sauna and Jacuzzi, excellent machines and classes. People is so welcomed. Thank you. Highly recommended!

Lots of space and workout equipment to choose from. Three stars because I’m getting really tired of paying this place $70 a month for gym amenities and child care, and I can’t even spend 30 minutes working out without being called to come get my 2 year old daughter. Literally the only daycare I’ve ever heard complaints from about her hitting.

I love the CAC because not only do they have a fantastic staff, that treat each guest special. The location is neat and clean. The gym community is amazing. I am NO where near some of the more seasoned attendees, however everybody is willing to help us ‘newbies’. And of course the place has the best programs and exercise areas. Ive been going to this gym for a couple of months now... honestly it doesnt feel very welcoming. The facility is big and has a lot to offer but the layout is weird, there is equipment spread all out with no rhyme or rythem to most of it. The stair steppers are out date and need updating. The indoor pool has been empty for most of the winter which is when you want it the most. The nursery hours are to wacky and you cant bring toddlers in before noon. The good, there are separate hot tubes and saunas for men and women in both locker rooms, its clean and there is a good selection of classes.

Outstanding facility, great people. Wouldnt train anywhere else.

Stay away from this facility, at least during COVID. Several of the staff (who never workout) will aggressively ask members to put mask on, immediately after and sometimes while doing strenuous activities. I let several of the staff know that I have a medical condition and can’t wear a mask while working out. Several members of the staff said they would let the other staff members know but I continued to be aggressively approached by staff members. The last staff member approached (immediately) after finishing a set and demanded I put on a mask and then once I let her know the situation. She asked for a note and then I let her know my ENT isn’t open and she said I can’t workout. This was totally unprofessional and put my health in jeopardy, so I cancelled my membership. There were several members that saw this happen and said it was totally wrong and commended me. This is an issue for a lot of members, so if you want to workout unimpeded by staff that aren’t aware or considerate of working out and medical conditions. I suggest you find another gym.Reply to owners response: Yes, and the mandate takes in consideration medical conditions and doesnt require documentation. Also, asking why or what the medical conditions is/are is against hipaa - which your staff did request. Lastly, I told multiple staff members about my condition and they said they were going to let the other staff members know (so I wouldnt continue to be aggressively approached) and I was approached 5 times after that conversation. The last time, I explained to the staff member my ENT (ear nose and throat) specialist has closed his office during covid and she told me twice that I couldnt workout and had to leave. So, I cancelled my membership... There was no pending (as you stated)... Also, I asked to speak to you but I decided it just isnt worth it, after multiple members were so disgusted and let the staff know (about what they saw). They didnt approach anyone else - other than me (which they suggest is because of my race). Which, I just dont have the desire or time to pursue but you guys could have a serious lawsuit on your hands - on multiple fronts.

Didnt let us in for a day pass due to covid-19.. traveling with the family, my girls where really excited to take a break and have some fun... they only let members in..

Amazing gym and Amazing value ! Honestly i was torn between signing up for a budget place like planet fitness but the services, classes, and equipment here are well worth the extra you pay per month than going someplace like planet fitness. Sad to be moving away from this place as the gyms in my new location dont stack up!

I love how I can bring my daughter and not worry about her in the daycare. She is 5 and the have great classes that are on the website.

My wife and I love our memberships. We use the movie theater for our cardio before we workout. Gives us so many options to meet our workout needs.

Some really great employees and very clean gym. The nursery workers are friendly and the kids program workers do a great job at creating classes for the children. The classes are organized and great physical education for the children. Very impressed with many qualities of this gym.

I feel a bit betrayed by the Club. I think the place has amazing equipment and variety. However my only complaint is the policies and how they handle and uphold them. It seems every single staff member has their own policies and ways of going about it. I had worn a shirt which revealed the upper half of my ribcage and this was a shirt I wore quite often when working out. One day all of a sudden after working out for about an hour and checking in. they approach me and tell me that what I am wearing was not allowed in their new guidelines. I understood that and told them that I will be sure to watch what I wore next time. I addressed the fact that the person at the front did not comment on it and that no one said anything til I was almost done with my workout. After this you would expect that they would just leave me with this warning and we would move on right? No. They ask me to leave. Which I think is ridiculous. Its not exactly a quick walk on home to change and to be disrespected as a customer when it wasnt even my fault was just ridiculous. Whats worse is that I see people wearing things even worse than me on a regular basis and nobody says anything. Unbelievable.

The gym is FILTHY. Do not go here if you want to touch yellow, crust on handlebars, sweat stains on treadmills from months ago, and toilets over flooded. What the heck CAC?! I pay over $80 for my membership and where is the money going to? Front desk workers say they clean but they are always at the front desk? Why don’t you hire a sole cleaner? I come in at 4pm most of my time and the toilets smell like they haven’t been cleaned for days. Why can’t staff just do a walk through the gym to see what needs to be cleaned? It’s simple math and management doesn’t seem to add up. It’s absolutely ridiculous. The service is very mediocre. The pool has no shade. The worst part is the kids program which looks very nice and seems like it should be fantastic is run by a lady who makes me feel like Im punishing my child by putting him in her care.

My favorite gym. The owners are wonderful and kind and the equipment is everything I could ever need and more. My kids love going to the kid zone to hang out and play. My husband and I love lifting weights and running on the track. We all love swimming laps and being active here. Worth every penny

I love this gym! I had been a member here for over 2 years before I got hired to work with the children’s programs. The members and staff have become family and I wouldn’t want to work / workout anywhere else.

The childcare situation can be really annoying. You cant come and go whenever you want. You have to come at specific times if you have kids which can be difficult when you have three kids. You also have to reserve spots for them in advance. This is only annoying to me because Im a very spontaneous person so I dont like it but I get it. When kids are there though they have fun and so that part is good. The childcare isnt that big of a deal.I can get over that. I took two stars off because their showers are filthy. I mean repulsive. I have tried going more than once thinking I caught them on a bad day. Nope theyre just gross. Wads of hair. Dirt. Used Band-Aids. Unexcusably disgusting. Dont even get me started on the family locker room. You can hardly breathe in there it stinks so bad.In regards to gym equipment there is such a variety to choose from. I have never had an issue not being able to use a machine that I wanted except the stair climber a couple of times. I love this gym just so long as I shower at home.The staff is always nice.UPDATE: someone spoke with me today regarding the childcare and my grievances over this review. I was impressed that they took the time! I am going to leave one star off still for the bathroom/showers but we will revisit that again in a week.❤️

I dont think its fair that I have kids that live out state that comes to visit me for the summer and holidays they wont allow me. To add them to my paperwork and I pay my monthly payment so if I want to go to the gym I have to pay more money every time. That just to much for me on a fix income

Youre gonna pay for that time.TO THE OWNER:I want an explanation as to why theres a 30 day notice WHEN MY CONTRACT WAS ALREADY UP. Do you have a limit on how many memberships you take? I bet not. This is not a house or a utility, where I need to be replaced as a customer and my spot can only be filled if Im gone....making a 30 day notice a fair expectation and ethical business practice. (Which makes this part of the contract especially ridiculous because for both my water and power, it was same day shut off) However in a city where the vast majority of your customer base is constantly being moved because theyre military, this practice is simply a way to take advantage. This policy needs to be changed. I say this especially because I was a customer here for over three years, fulfilled the contract and was on a month to month basis. Which means I paid you in the neighborhood of $2,000. Its that important for you and the staff here to squeeze someone for that last little drop of cash? Please help me understand, because the staff couldnt. Feel free to call if theres a reasonable explanation for this.Edit: Still no response from the owner to those who are wondering. I left over a year ago on orders, and HOPE the policy has changed.

Beautiful gym, wish they had a deal for households that arent family or married

I have been going to this gym for 4 years. It has only gotten better with time. Expansion that doubled the size, renovation of the older rooms, new cardio equipment periodically, and enough equipment that I rarely have to wait to handle a specific exercise. I am a competitive bodybuilder and I got in the best shape of my life with all this gym has to offer. I love this place!

Good spread of free weight equipment. My only gripe is try dont do visitor passes, so it costs me $10 a day until I sign up. Also, they need to send someone around to rack weights correctly from time to time.

You figured after I come home from deployment 9 months later they would fix a lot of their equipment. Everything I wanted to work out with was damaged or didnt work properly. Customer service could be better as well. Place is garbage. I should have saved my money and continued going to the gyms on post.

We love going here but we have become selective in the times that we go. Keeping in mind that it is a business in that they promote to keep it booming, there are some concerns. Every year you have the influx of people (New Years Resolutioners), this year it seems that the caliber of people is very different. Just a week or so ago, there were multiple situations of confrontations (fights). This is supposed to be a family friendly environment...

I have been a member for a few months and have enjoyed the staff as well as the facility. I was recently injured and can no longer be at the gym for about a year due to surgery. They made it easy for me get out of my contract and were very helpful. I would recommend anyone to use this gym

They have everything you look for in a gym.The kids’ programs are designed for each age group and keeps them active with their structured work out programs. The teachers are actively engaged with the kids.Everyone there is always encouraging one another. The trainers are available to help you stay on your personal goals.Clarksville Athletic Club also offers pickle ball games 3 days a week, which I’ve been doing for just over a year now. It’s such a fun and addicting sport!The owners and the staff go above and beyond for their community from fundraisers to scholarships.

Needs a lot of new machines, equipment, replace the reusable towels to clean machines with paper towels, clean daily and clean the whole gym once a week thoroughly. This place is nice and has a lot of potential for the price everyone pays this should not be a problem for the up keep.

They have a large amount of equipment options and classes available. They also have childcare as well as child classes included in the family membership which I think is a wonderful feature. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because a lot of the classes arent actually taught by instructors. They are just video classes on a large screen that play at a scheduled time. Although some of the classes do have actual instructors.

Great gym that offers a lot but too expensive for what we wanted. It was $200 down for my boyfriend and I just to start a month to month (we were just looking to do 1 or 2 months because we may be moving)... The girl to give us the tour, Codie, was great.

Awesome place to workout they have every kind of exercise and weight lift equipment you can think of. 2 pools one inside open all year and another outside plus a beach volleyball court. Best of all for familys they have child care 2 hours a day and 9 hours a week. The child care staff is always friendly and really engaged with all the kids.

I absolutely love this gym!! It had everything I wanted and more. Pool, indoor track, suana, basketball court, and classes included in the pricing, unlike many other gyms. The customer service is amazing and always super friendly!! It looks like its packed from the outside but its so big and roomy that it feels like its all yours lol. First time Im excited to go workout.

5 Stars- I have been a member of the Clarksville Athletic Club for almost 15 years and in that time I have always had an excellent experience. The staff, trainers, instructors, and maintenance personnel are all very courteous, professional, and always encouraging. I mainly use their 25 yard pool and they always keep it clean and expertly maintained. A special shoutout to their excellent staff especially Brad, Cheryl, and James along with their superior maintenance staff especially Don and Jim. Gym is always clean. Plenty of machines and areas that I dont often have to delay a workout while waiting for someone else. Personal trainer program is a great added benefit as well.

There are always machines not working or have a feature not working. There is always a surplus of people playing ball at all times of the day, who are mostly children to high school age. Otherwise it is a bigger space to work out in, when it isnt packed.

I rather enjoy all of the equipment and other stuff that they offer! An amazing gym, clean, and awesome employees

Awesome place! Very convenient to walk there for Exercise workout shower & Walk home! The monthly Payment is very affordable!
