From 18 to 22 I was in a DARK DARK DARK place. Living with everyday abuse I remember laying in bed one day thinking Im gonna die like this soon. After that he managed to break my clavicle and shoulder blade. Police were involved and of coarse this scared me even more. One day I got a call on my phone, it was women helping women ! I decided to go and talk. When I say this program saved me I feel is an understatement. I owe the late Mary Frostlee my life without a doubt. Im 32 now, healthy happy and thriving ! She gave me the wisdom and strength to see that I meant more than I imagined. I am left with 6 screws and 2 plates in my collar bone and scars to remind me every day how far Ive come. Its possible ladies !! Believe in yourself. And accept help. You dont have to live in a bad situation. You are more !

I was kicked out the program because it appeared that I wasn’t staying at the hotel , when I told them I had started working a 3rd shift job.. since being kicked out I’ve been harassed by my kids dad. They gave false hope and some of my items where stolen when they packed my things up …

I had a very positive experience when I contacted Debbie to inquire about housing assistance at WHW back in late April after the Covid-19 pandemic started. I moved into my own apartment at the beginning of June this year and am finally in stable, safe housing. Debbie was extremely helpful and easily accessible by phone to assist me when we were experiencing shutdowns due to the pandemic❤Im more than grateful.

I received more false hope than help needed. I met advocate Nora in the ER. Her support was everything I needed at that critical time. She made me feel as though I already knew her on a friendly basis. This is a two-star review instead of a one-star review because of Nora. While in the ER, and in Nora’s presence, I booked a hotel room. Today Kristi was my advocate. During one of our conversations, I corrected her when she said Women Helping Women secured a hotel room for me. As she spoke on the phone with a person at the YWCA regarding my being housed, she said, “...we have her in a hotel.” Again I stated that I paid for my hotel room. Kristi denied knowing such. “I just told you that as we sat on the bench back there,” I said. Kristi again denied knowing that I, not WHW, was paying for my 2-day stay at a hotel. Her dishonesty is a reflection on WHW. She asked, “Do you want me to (?continue calling shelters?), she asked. I did not.In addition, Kristi talked about my going to stay with my niece in New Mexico as an option. Really? If that had been an option, I would have known it. Shame on WHW. I am a woman who needed help. I will not have an advocate in the future. I reached out to dishonesty, false hopes, and disappointment.

They really work with women and make you feel safe. They are very resourceful and they accompany you to court if you want them to. They help you in obtaining CPOs and they help with relocation if wanted. I absolutely love Women Helping Women.
