This is the most rude and unprofessional place I have seen. The city/state employees(workers of the people if they forget) act like they are doing you a favor. Like the stuff is personally being paid by them. They all act like they have never been on, needed, nor are on benefits. The workers are nonchalant, un sympathetic , dry, and more. If you dont like your job then leave, but this place is ridiculous. They act as if you are bothering them. When Ive seen and heard for myself that all they do is rally gag in that building, talking about people and dealing with people when they wanna be bothered. So unprofessional that Better Business Bureau needs to investigate them

Terrible. You spend hours on hold just to get someone to answer the phone. Sometimes they hang up on you and you have to start the process over. Few of their employees are actually polite and looking to help. I think the worst thing theyve done is lie and say we were contacted for a food stamp renewal interview when we werent. Had to wait another week for the interview. Did everything they asked and they still denied our application with no explanation. No one should have to spend most of their day trying to get a hold of someone. If you dont want to do your job, dont work for job and family services.

My son finally reaches out for help. You stay on hold for over an hour and the represenative is rude, impatient, and unhelpful. This a place where people should be empathetic. I understand why suicide rates are up. I wonder if the people who work here are so mean to their own families .

I applied for health coverage through Obamacare. I got a plan for my husband and I, but it wouldnt let me add my kids on then because it said they might be eligible for Medicaid. So, we applied for Medicaid because thats the only option it gave us. They strung us along, telling us to be patient, before rejecting us, and now its too late to add our kids to the Obamacare plan we got. They take so long to do anything, why do they even exist? We would have been better off without them.

On hold for my child’s benefits for 3 hours this morning and I called at 8:30 am and never got a real person the only real person comes in the wait music and ask if you need a translator and she says 7-9 minutes wait time you finally get excited and NOBODY came back it takes 3 hours to travel not complete a call interview ive called everyday this week and it’s the same, someone said the workers are working from home now but that’s even worse because at home we are you’re least priority I will never again wait on hold for that long again when I know I have to get so much more established for my daughter on the only weekday i have off 😤 shall I try again at 1:47pm???🤔😭😭 🧠this is for your baby! PLEASE DO BETTER JFS, we need you’re help!!

Letter states call between 9:30-10, called at 9:30, pressed the wrong option button but was told shell transfer me.....oooooookay so from 9:35 till now which is NOON, I told myself I never had to wait this long maybe she transferred me to the wrong department, so I hung up and called back, dont you know this GAL ,yes I said GAL rudely YELLED at me and said I TOLD YOU WHEN A TRANSFERRED YOU IT WAS GOING TO BE A 3-4 HOUR WAIT chhhhhhhhild, of course I yelled right back at her and said NO YOU DIDNT and we actually had a shouting match back and forth. She transferred me again but I definitely wondering now if she transferred me to BA-JESUSES, because I called her a liar Bawhahahaha. Whatever happened to customer service and I know I know these calls cant be recorded in any shape form or fashion....cause baaaaaby back in the day she would have been pulled off the phone after the call, written up, or fired. Oh I forgot she work for JOB AND FAMILY SERVICES. And by the way it appears our reviews arent being taken seriously either because Im adding mine to the group as well

This office is one of the most unprofessional and disorganized establishments Ive ever encountered. The claims department must be understaffed because according to their website and automated system the claims process takes 21 days, its been 38 days and the claim is still pending? I contacted the claims processing department and was patronized by an agent who told me that I was not the only dealing with this as if that answered my question. Their software and firewalls are outdated which is why their system was hacked and claimaints information was compromised, forcing random claimaints to provide their personal information again by stopping their payments. Making it difficult for those who are unemployed to receive their benefits does not absolve them of their responsibility to do their job.

While I sit on hold for the third hour, I am reflecting upon the entirety of HCJFS as a whole and how it fails to serve the people in need.1) thru their own errors, they assumed they overpaid me in benefits and cried afoul, citing fraud. Not only did I prove that I held up my end of the responsibility contract, I also pointed out their accounting errors and showed that I was under served. The State of Ohio hearing board agreed with me.They resubmitted the exact same claim a few months later, and the State of Ohio hearing board went as far to admonished them for continuing this assault upon me.Two months later, the same lady in the fraud department repeated her attack upon me, the State of Ohio Hearing Board told her to cease and annul all further actions.But, yet again, she tried, and the State of Ohio wasn’t kind to her and her behavior. Hopefully she’s no longer there. For the sake of others.2) I successfully acted Pro Se and gained custody of my youngest son on 1/11/2019. The mother signed a promissory note for child support for which I took in when I applied for their assistance collecting. Something went wrong and I had to reapply the next year. They said they have something in writing, but I have not seen anything concrete yet, especially financial help from the mother. At this point, her nonsupport is considered a felony charge by the ORC.3) I receive both SNAP and Medicaid. Both programs require the exact same documentation for certifying. But after I complete one process of recertification, they seek the same info for the other a month or two later. I was on vacation when the notification came with a specific date and time for certification, a time that I was still on vacation. I called back immediately and reset a new process the next day. But not one person called me to do the interview. I reached out again with a secondary number, but still no calls.I received notification that my benefits are being cancelled due to non certification. Well, as I started with, I have been on the phone since 7:30am and it’s currently almost 11am.They are awful

We have been getting mail for Corinthia Walker for YEARS and she has never lived at this address while we have been here (11+ years). I have called and told them. One time I even had a employee hang up on me when I told her this issue (and I was being patient and kind). I have written on the mail in red marker “Return to Sender” with the clarification that SHE DOES NOT LIVE HERE. I have emailed and told them. What else can I possibly do? Someone is wasting organization resources! I am a very patient and understanding person but I am so fed up and have reached my limit. STOP SENDING US MAIL FOR CORINTHIA WALKER. This place is a joke. For one took my child away for what??? I guess ill never know. Been trying to get ahold of my case worker for well over 3 weeks now and havent heard from them. Spoke to a lawyer and from what i know they are doing things illegally. I live outside of jurisdiction now thank God for that one. I personally believe this place is just a form of legal kidnapping.

Ive been trying to get food and cash assistance for months, I signed up in person and my paperwork was *lost*. I signed up online and got a notice in the mail that I missed a telephone interview I was never notified of, therefore I was denied. Ive been trying to get ahold of them on the phone. Their automated system sometimes hangs up on you, the 2 times when I could get through it without being hung up on, a person answered only to be rude, cut me off when I was speaking, and put me on hold. The first time the hold was 2 hours. I opted for a call back and didnt recieve one. The second time the hold was 40 minutes. Nobody ever answered. Im convinced they are just avoiding people. Im giving birth this week and can barely afford food after all of the other expenses. I could not need assistance more. These people are NOT helpful. Its really disappointingUPDATE finally got SNAP but couldnt get cash assistance because they told me i need to go to their job program for that which I cant do since I am a stay at home mom with nobody to watch my baby and no daycare money thanks though

I completely agree with everyone else. I believe you have to have a bad attitude to even be hired here. I was on hold for a hour and a half to get a horrible worker just to process. The only time you see a person is when they send you to a work program. I went into that appointment received a job offer. She was mad because she gets credit if I find a job. They denied me. I have turned in 3 online household changes & have all 3 email verifications. I have sent in 2 household I.D. forms through the USPS. I also went down to the county office, in person & turned in 23 pgs of ppr. work; for which i also have my verification form, where everything was turned in. This has all been done since Oct. 2019. And there has been no contact from anyone to update my case! I also contacted the state website twice. What is going on with county services!? Im so disappointed. I literally have used every single avenue there is, to update my case. With almost no response in 7 months. The state told me to file for a state hearing. But this is absolutely unacceptable, after i have gone above & beyond just to report changes.

This isn’t a reflection of jfs. I never really have problems in times of need. I understand it’s all a process and can be overwhelming but avoid working with Shelly Anthony. Complete waste of time working with her. 38 days later I’m in the same boat I was in on day 1. She doesn’t check her vm, follow- up, she doesn’t return calls & give feedback. She’s been sitting on my case and now I have to wait another 24 hours to hear from her supervisor.

You can turn all paperwork in on time. You can provide what they ask for. You can send them everything and They are always confused. They will tell you one thing then another. They told me my medical was expired and it wasnt. Iv just never had a good experience with anyone from there. I know they have a lot to deal with and burn out is real. But if youre at a job you gotta do it just like the rest of us. They hate when you ask questions as well. They dont like informed people who understand how its supposed to work

Every time I have called over to their office, the first time (every time) I get hung up on. Then there have been several times that I have talked to people and they have been very rude and inconsiderate. I get that working with low income families may not be exactly desirable in career choices but not everyone is trying to get over on the system and if im kind and respectful then it is only fair that the same treatment be given. Also, hanging up on people in need of assistance after waiting over 40 minutes to get to a live person is incredibly unprofessional and rude. Please work on your customer service training.

Very poor service. Zero professionalism. I have lost benefits twice because of them.. I have had benefits for less than a year (only once I became pregnant) and they were taken when I was 6 months pregnant and now taken again because they failed to transfer the correct required documents once I moved counties. I was told to update information thru them and then they would transfer my case. I did everything they asked, they transferred my case and none of my important information. I called back to see why they didnt transfer them or if they could still transfer said documents and the lady hung up on me! I am on maternity leave and actually need them so this is infuriating!

It took 35 days to process my application for food and medical. It would have been sooner, had they not lost my application for 15 days. Now I am eligible, however, I am responsible for contacting those who send the cards. Problem: all 4 options at the EDT PHONE CENTER WANT MY CARD NUMBER! Im calling them to get a card. I was in a bad car accident on November 15th this year. I have sent proof of enrollment at my college 3 different times over fax. I’m in a lot of pain and can’t even get any help. I call everyday and nothing. It’s sad this is how they treat people. And on top of it just found out I’m pregnant and I definitely was in the car accident. But I can’t get any help. AVOID THESE MONSTERS AT ALL COSTS.They took my child with no grounds or reasoning (they claim my mental health?? Which Ive been cleared for since 17 years old???) And bullied me into signing a safety plan that was only supposed to last a maximum of thirty days. It has been three months. A fight that would have never happened if this facility had done their due diligence and investigated instead of believing baseless accusations and treating me like absolute garbage.My daughter and I are thriving and happier than ever. Ive never loved anything more than her. I have not even done a thing wrong ever in my life I smoke a little weed and drink socially when my kids have a sitter at home. even the claims they make before investigating is false. they create social gapes by picking on the good people and not going after people who actually shouldnt have their kids. Because I did in home care and quit do to me reporting to state on how they treated the clients I took care of with disabilities they still have me in the care tracking system witch is a paperless tracking system I was trained on. And for someone to call in and lie on me to children services I have been labeled as crazy and they tried to ward me to the state through probate court. this is how they use there grant money they just received to keep good people like me silenced. but I go to ohio media school and I trained nursing students at UC health. Someone once told me a long time ago when I first came into health care to always protect yourself.

I sat on hold for 40 mins finally got someone they said hold on put me on hold forwarded me to another automated line I hit the option I needed talked to another person after another 20 mins gave them my info got put on hold for another 30 mins. A person started talking I could not hear them at all. I said sorry I can not hear you. She said hellooo! Then hung up on me the total phone call lasted an hour and a half and i can only call between 8 and 12 which i work those hours so I have to sit on the phone while Im at work this is ridiculous all i need is some help. Received a letter in early November indicating that a verification form needed to be completed and returned by November 30, 2018. I completed the form, with all requested information prior to the due date. On December 15, 2018 I received a letter indicating that my Medicaid would not be renewed because I either 1) did not return the form or 2) did not send the requested forms. I called that day and wanted to know what was going on. I was on hold for almost 2 hours. When I finally spoke with someone, they said that they did have my forms and documents and they were just behind. I said I needed to verify that I would be covered on January 1st and would be receiving my insurance card soon. I was told I was good to go. For the last week I have reviewed my case online. Each day my case had shown that my insurance has been discontinued. I called them back today. I was on hold for almost 2 hours, again. The person I spoke with verified they have all of my information, but they are very backed up on their review. I asked if I would have coverage on January 1st. The answer, “probably not”. I said that I have prescriptions that I have to take or I’ll die. I have doctor appointments that I have to go to in January. He says I could probably check with some other organizations that might be able to help with some prescription assistance. I info on what those “other organizations “ might be. #OhioSucks #OhioJobandFamilyServicesFail

Despite currently living in Oregon, and having never applied for Medicaid whilst living in Ohio, I have suddenly received my Medicaid OH health insurance card. I know how incredibly hard it is to get these but I guess if youre white, theyll just hand em out to you whether you applied or live in state or not. Several calls of 45 min hold times and I still have not reached anyone at all. Im pretty in awe of the complete ineptitude going on here. Medicaid OH wont help until I talk to my case worker but since Ive never opened a case, I dont know who that is or how to contact them. Well done, Hamilton County! Bravo!

No one hardly answers the phone in the call center, I know JFS helps thousands of people. But dont tell me it takes that long to answer the phone. Ive had to use their services to access health-care for my child, who is disabled. They are curt, rude, and unhelpful. Agents frequently dismiss or interrupt me during conversation, refuse to answer questions, and lose paperwork. The 30 day window for reviewing a case must not be long enough, because I rarely get a response during the first 30 days. It often takes three or four attempts to accomplish simple tasks (like a change of address). Wait times on the phone regularly exceed an hour or more.

Terrible organization. They open investigations like kids open presents on Christmas Day. No matter how many times an accusation is made against you thats been proven false multiple times theyll continue to investigate and come to your home and waste your time. They messed up my application and denied my Medicaid. Then told me all I had to do was send in my check stubs and proof of pregnancy so I did. I called to make sure they received it and they said they never did so I personally went down there to scan it. Waited 3 weeks and called and they said they received it but I had to completely reapply and that whom ever I talked to apparently didnt know what they were talking about because they should have told me I needed to reapply in the first place. Now I have to wait another 4-6 weeks for insurance when they are the ones who put my information in incorrectly in the first place. This place is an absolute joke. I dont think I have talked to one person that wasnt rude or made me feel like I was bothering them. I wouldnt give them any stars if it was an option. So disappointed in the system!

I hate i have to deal with these rude Im better then you people..You wait on hold for over an hour to get rushed and talked to so badly as if there paying for your benefits.Who is there boss how could they possibly allow this to happen to a bussiness.The workers get paid to do there job not do what they want to do and carry on a better then you welfare people that call in attitude ..They listen to the call???Maybe thats why they dont care what they do because there is no consequence and or hard to detect which worker you spoke with since they take 11 calls a hour supposedly because the hold time is ridiculous. I LIVED in Texas for years and they never had you on hold longer then 30 mins so I no its possible Hamilton County doesnt care..My case is over 40 days over and still nothing is done Ive reached out to everyone theyve told me to live messages with and still nothing..Praying for there system to change because its the worst Ive ever seen..God help us

This organization is a disgrace to the entire Hamilton County. If I worked for them, I would not to let anyone know I did. They are a total joke. As a grieving widow, they required me to submit paper work, which I did but they lost and blamed it on the mail and then when a supervisor finally contacted me and resent a crap load of paper work that I NEVER received which they told me I did, I threw my hands up in the air. All to try and get insurance for my 11 yr old child. They should be shut down and revamped. TERRIBLE organization. JFS should be ashamed of who they claim to stand for. DISGRACEFUL. If there was a minis category on a 1 - 10 scale I would give them an 11.

Probably the most incompetent frustrating organization Ive ever had to deal with. Its incredibly horrific that these are the people who are supposed to be in charge of our healthcare and food. I run into problems every single month, and then have to spend 3 hours of my life calling, waiting on hold for an hour each time, all for a pissed-off person to speak to me for 2 minutes. Today, I waited for 45 minutes only to have a rude person HANG UP ON ME after 20 seconds. I burst out in tears. I have no money for food due to the error, and now they wont even speak to me. What an abysmal organization.

Not very happy right now, im a single mother with a special needs child who is on SSI and disabled , a patient through Cincinati Childrens Hospital who has a closed head injury, OCD, form of autism, food sensory texture issues and still have no benefits added to our food card, im upset the case worker spoke down to me and made me feel belittled, my daughter is home schooled and still talked to like I am beneath someone

A woman named Sheila Johnson contacted my wife and I a few weeks ago wanting to come to our home and check things out. We have nothing to hide, she said just 1 visit and if she didn’t feel the need to keep the case open then she would close it. She came to our home, we answered all questions but when we asked her what claims she was investigating then she said there were no allegations of anything but that she was required to make the visit because my childs mother and I had a verbal argument and the police wrote the report as a domestic violence. Neither of us were charged with domestic violence. We argued verbally. That’s not against the law and our child was not involved. After Sheila Johnson made the visit she told us that she herself could not see any reason to keep the case open but she said she was required to have a follow up visit. ( which I know is a lie, 1 visit is sufficient to close a case as she told us that before) my wife and I didn’t argue, like I said we have nothing to hide so Sheila johnson scheduled to be at our home another day but never showed up. I called her and was very polite and left 2 voicemails telling her we were home and still waiting. I then called her supervisor to find out what was going on, Mia Taylor. This supervisor lies and contradicts what her employee told me. I advised her that I want to know why they didn’t close the case. She told me the police reported child neglect! That’s a lie! I have spoken with the police directly and was told that they never reported any allegations of neglect or abuse! So why is my family being investigated if there are no allegations of wrong doing?!?! What Mia Taylor didn’t know is that I have the police officers on recording saying they never made any of those allegations and I have her employee, Sheila Johnson on recording saying she sees no reason to keep the case open. When I talked to her about our first visit she agreed with me that my home is clean, there is food, my child has clean cloths and attends pre-k daily. She also agreed that there were no illegal substances, no guns, and no drugs. There is absolutely zero crime going on in my home and around my child. My wife has NEVER been charged with anything in her whole life. We are great parents and we both love our child very much. So my wife and I want to know why this is being dragged out and we feel at this point our rights are being violated by these people. Come on, come back to my house. Search whatever you want and ask whatever you want, stop lying and stop LOOKING for a reason to take my child. If you weren’t trying to find something to use against me then why wasn’t the case closed after the first visit as we all agreed on?!? More lies just to keep gaining access to our home hoping we slip up? That’s how we feel. If our child was in danger or being abused why was she left in our care? I know why- BECAUSE WE ARE GREAT PARENTS! This morning was my little brothers funeral. I had a lot of things to do but I was stuck at my home all morning waiting for this case worker to fulfill her duties. She failed. Then when she finally called me back I very very CALMY AND RESPECTFULLY explained how this situation is making my wife and myself feel. She got mad that I expressed my opinion and said I was being rude “ not very cordial “ (exact words.) I asked her how I’m being rude, I reminded her that I had not raised my voice. I reminded her that every time I tried to speak she would raise HER voice and talk over me, not letting me complete my sentences. I reminded her that every time I addressed her I called her by name or said mam’ respectfully. Then I asked her a question I already know the answer to. “Mam’ is this conversation being recorded since it’s a department of the government?” She quickly said yes of course but denied being able to obtain access to the recorded conversation! I never asked if she had access to the conversation, she voluntarily threw that out there. During our conversation she even denied having an appointment and I had to remind her She wrote it down for me herself...

Hold times are over an hour they dont do what they say they will. You cant get in contact with your case worker anymore. I was told they got an updated system over the holiday that kicked everyones submitted info out of the system which they sent no notice of, so everything has to be resubmitted. Evertime I call I get the same answer which is my paper work has been submitted since the 30th he hasnt looked at it yet they will email him for the third time now.

I know for a fact that these workers work very hard! If one should be mad...be mad at the administration for high turnover...under staffing... poor pay...and high case loads. Ppl can only do so much when there jobs require them to handle 250-350 cases or more. You have to know a staff member to understand there struggle and unrealistic guidelines of the state and county. My mom worked here for 30 years and worked very hard. I know several others and they work hard too.

They denied my grandchild the right to determine my deceased son is her father. They took her mouth swab but said the legal department denied the request?Won’t say why but they get paid with my tax dollars!UPDATEI wrote a letter to threaten to take them to court along with a photo of my son hugging his daughter.BEHOLD!!Less than a week later the legal department reopened the case.Went as expected with confirmation!

It literally took me A YEAR to get health insurance for my family. My daughter had a heart defect when she was born and had to have open heart surgery at six months. She was 3 years old when we moved back to Hamilton county (last year). I recently just gave birth and my new baby boy wasnt even a month old yet with zero health insurance. After waiting a year and days of patience and hours of waiting on hold and constantly faxing information over I finally recieved my healthcare. Im a single mother of two and have been denied for child care. It was no problem receiving food benefits when I first applied, however my food benefits have just been cancelled with zero attempt to tell me when I did in fact, fax over all of my avilable information. Now Im freaking out wondering what Im gonna do until next month. 😤😣😣

They are not only racist, but prejudice, stereotypical, lazy, and they are thieves stealing welfare assistance for themselves and miscalculate benefits on purpose to those they think are vulnerable, and they are unorganized and take forever to do a simple task, and even though they have 30 days to process a case as they say, it really on take two hours after they press a button to upload benefits, its ridiculous, and Ohio is the only state where everybody has to do community service, which there are none really, to receive assistance, and they are quick to take it away as well. Im calling the governor on these people. They want everybody to work but there arent any jobs in the city and the jobs that are available have strict qualifications and they are far away out of reach from public transportation; something has to be done about this. They are racist, the blacks mistreat the white folks and the white folks mistreat the black folks, and they sitting in cubicles next to each other in the same building and treat their clients the same, including myself. One of them got smart with me one time.

They really do have the rudest workers; who tend to use the most accusatory tones and statements, as if implying welfare fraud to everyone they speak to. Friends and family agree. They could use an attitude adjustment. Also, most workers arent the brightest. Once in a while you get a great worker with an awesome attitude and it makes it so much easier to deal with whatever needs to be handled. Wait time on the phone is over an hour every time. Im just glad we are moving counties soon. Cannot stand HCJFS and their negativity. If anyone is looking for reviews to see about moving to Hamilton County, you really should not move here if planning on dealing with jfs. Warren County or Clermont County is better. Hate to give a bad review as this agency is set up to help families, but this one is honestly the worst.

Very difficult job, to get public assistance should be rigorous and families should have their paperwork in order and on file. Im surprised that some families dont have simple information like birth certificates or marriage license. Always room for improvement but change takes time
