This was my first time trying out Bonita Auto, they impressively got me in and out for my U-Joints replacement as promised. All employees were professional and made sure my requests were satisfied. They did an awesome job for a very fair labor price. Ill definitely be back here for any future work I cant do on my own.

Im glad i had them repair my truck brakes. They took care of the problem and they were able to save the original rotor by resurfacing it instead of replacing it with new ones where is more expensive. Other shop will not even try and go with the easy work which is replacing it. This was my 3rd time to have them fix my cars. I will schedule my other car sometimes next month for inspection to see what needs to be done. Happy returnee customer here. AAA+++.

First visit was due to a warranty covered event. They were great to work with, young gentleman who helped me was very communicative, seamless transaction all throughout... Finally my warranty expired and needed another job to be done, thought because of my great experience in the past Id go here again. Unfortunately, they were unable to fix my issue, but pleasantly surprised at their honesty that this was a job they were not comfortable with. I was ready to pay for the diagnostic fee as I understand they took their time to attempt to assess what the issue was, and they waived it! A++++ all throughout. After I get this issue resolved, Ill definitely be coming back for regular service needs.

I took my mini van town and country to repair the sliding door on the left I paid $129.00 for an estimate.When I took my mini van I could open and close the door manually. I decided not to fix it yet because they were charging me more than $1,000.00. When I went to pick up my mini van after driving it less than two minutes it started beeping and the left sliding door opened 10 inches. I got back to the place they call the technician and he completely ruined my door I couldnt open it or closed manually like I did before anymore. I told him to fix it back the way it was. He refused and said he couldnt do anything to fix it back. I dont think is the right way to do business forcing you breaking even more what you try to fix. Do not go there for your peace of mind!

Had no appointment. First time at this place. I had wheel bearing issues and after they evaluated the condition. Lori informed me of the potential work/parts estimate and gave me an estimate on the repair time of 1 to 2 hours. She found also cheaper parts, so it was getting better for me. Due to the volume of customers coming plus 2 mechanics short that day, they still manage to get the job on time. Excellent repair facility, friendly staff and clean. This place is HIGHLY recommended. I would give it an A++ rating.

A great place to come for smog or simple oil changes. My car failed to smoke the first time, they let me know what was wrong, I fixed it came back and got a $20 discount off of having it re-smog. Maybe it was quarantine, but it was really great interacting with Gary Johnson, a true professional.Highly recommend this place to anybody that needs at least a smog or an oil change, will update if I have other services done here.Also, good location to play Pokemon Go while you wait ☺️

I have been going to Bonita Point for several years now for my aging Honda Accord, about 213k miles. I am doing about 4 visits a year for routine maintenance and to keep it in good running shape. Great service and expertise. Had a misfire on my Honda Civic, I was afraid that it would be a major issue such as a head gasket. They did a great job of figuring the issue out and saving me some money. It ended up being a fried distributor which was caused by cracked wires and faulty plugs. Amazing turn around time, took it in at 1200 with no appointment and got a call that it was ready at 5pm. Car is running great with zero issues. Thanks again guys for all the help!Update: A week later after picking the car up, they called me to make sure the car is running good with no issues. Awesome service, highly recommended!

Called around 11:00am and told them I had a check engine light on and they told me to bring it in. Pablo the technician told me he would have to do a diagnostic check and would call me in a few hours. Pablo called me an hour later and said the car had a bad ignition coil. I told him go ahead and replace it . I was expecting the car wouldn’t be ready till the next day but to my surprise it was ready in a few hours the same day. I would recommend 76 Bonita Point auto to friends and family.

NOT the place to come if you’re looking for a quick smog check. Lots of mechanics doing a whole lot of nothing until a woman in a Jag dropped by.Staff sort of surly and not communicative.Took twice as long as promised.

I made it to Chula Vista with my family at 4 am after leaving my home in Ridgecrest after a 7.1 earthquake hit. As I pulled into my brothers place, my car was shaking and the check engine light came on. Bonita Point Auto got me in immediately, diagnosed and fixed the problem in a timely manner and at a reasonable cost. They made sure my car was running in tip top shape for the drive home. I would recommend them anytime.

Though I normally deal with Toyota service centers, my Toyota free service warranty recently expired for my 2017 Corolla, and I missed my last maintenance appointment. Then I saw I was eligible for a AAA maintenance promotion. Checking further, I saw Bonita Point was a AAA approved auto center and they are near me. Needing a maintenance job, I called them and was surprised at how easy it was to get an appointment ( No doubt other AAA clients were likewise taking advantage of the deal.) When I could not keep the original time set, they accommodated a later time without hassle or complaint and no affect to the terms of the promotion. When I went in, Pablo attended the intake process thoroughly and efficiently, and within an hour the work was done (vacation maintenance involving oil change, tire rotation, etc.) I am very pleased with the work done by Bonita Point and would refer them to anyone who may want local, reliable auto mechanic service. I think I have just found my new auto shop.

My car died on me and I had it towed to Bonita Point 76. They ran their diagnostics and found that I needed a new battery and alternator. They were very quick and had me back on the road in the same day and even gave me a AAA discount.

Was told if I had my car in by 4:00 they would smog it. I showed up before 3:30 and I was told they couldnt smog it and to come back another day. Then waited for >5 minutes to get propane.Cost of smog for large truck $65 at 76 Union in Bonita. $48 at B&Js.Bonita 76 is a bad deal all the way around, overpriced.

Im 100% sure it wasnt broken when I came for smog test but they Literally broke my cable wire handle and told me to pay them over 150$ to get the parts and pay over 100$/labor more to replace it. I dont recommend this place at all.

This is the second car to be smog at Bonita Point Auto Care this year. I come in without an appointment my cars were done within 30 mins. Gary Johnson is very personable. All in all a great place to get auto work done.

I’ve had 3 experiences at Bonita Point- first was a tow-in for a bad starter, second for brakes and pads, third for spark plugs. Labor rates are always fair, shop is knowledgeable and honest, and work is done on time. However, the most recent experience caused me to walk out instead of going through with service. The shop gets a discount from NAPA for parts, but still wanted more than $30/plug for parts (same part number) listed under $9 on the NAPA website. By all means make a profit on parts and labor... but that’s a markup level I can’t tolerate. Go here if you want honest service... but recognize you’re paying a big premium for it. For some folks it’s worth it, and on diagnostics I agree... but that’s a bit steep for routine service.

Found this place through the AAA website, I had a coolant leak, needed a new power steering pump and some other work done on my steering, also got a brake job done.Price was on par with other mechanics Ive been to and customer service was good, the staff was friendly and made sure to keep me updated on the status of the work. Im going to go back here if I need anything else done on my car.

I went to this shop on January 29,2018 at 11:00 am to replace my brake pads as recommended. They told me that its going to be finish around 5pm and they are going to call me when its done then I when back home. I got a call from them at around pass 3pm and told me that my car is ready but my drivers sit window is stock down and it wont come up. So, I went there almost 4pm and saw that my drivers sit window is down. (Note: All my windows are close before I get to the shop). Im not good with negotiating or to argue people so I just went back home with the car and told my brother in law about it. My brother thinks its suspicious so we came back the next day and ask questions to a manager Johnson and the customer service person Pablo.We asked the following questions: Their answers:How did the window got stock? i dont knowwhat are their names? Johnson; PabloIs there a garage reliability insurance? I dont know. This is thefirst time I heard aboutthatIs this a franchise or freelance? FreelanceMy driver sit window was working fine before I got there. I dont know what happen because I was not there. They told me that on the contract I sign below the paper receipt say NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOSS OR DAMAGE TO CARS OR ARTICLES LEFT IN CARS IN CASE FIRE, THEFT OR ANY OTHER CAUSE.i dont have proof that they broke my window or it is just natural cause. They are nothing I can do.

I frequently bring my car here for gas and regular maintenance and have been satisfied with every service. The people are nice, prices are fair, and they all seem very knowledgeable.

Nice customer service, but bad mechanics couldnt find the problem on my truck and wanted me to pay around $900 for a fuel pump and labor and the fuel pump only costs $200. Took it somewhere else and it wasnt the fuel pump that was wrong. Way over price and cant find the problem.

Tried to charge me for 2 serpentine belts on an initial invoice, I had to make them correct it after noticing that it was significantly more than my quote, claimed it was late and [so and so] made a mistake. however, such double-charging is a common SCAM, and I aint buyin their bull. Furthermore, charged me nearly $650 for no more than $400 worth of parts and labor. Long story short, go across the street to Bonita Valley Auto Care, nicer people, more genuine service, and MUCH easier prices to swallow.

Every shop I asked around all stated they might do it either for totally free or at the very least $20. This store tried tearing us off! This shop can rot in heck.

After resolving some early miscommunication issues, I am pleased with Bonita Point 76. After getting a detailed rundown on the trouble shooting performed by the mechanic, I am very happy with the effort this shop put into fixing my car.

I called for a simple quote this morning and spoke with Gary, the manager. I gave him the info about the car and he started asking me for personal information. Name and phone number, which I gave in case he had to call me back for the quote. then he started asking for more info...I had to stop him and ask why he needed all my personal info for a quote. He got rude and told me to have a nice day. Why kind of customer service is that?! I agree with the other posts here complaining about this business. To the owner of Bonita Point 76: youre losing business/money because of your manager! His customer service sucks! I called back and Jay, another mechanic, answered the phone. He told me that the Gary treated all his customers the same way. Such a shame. I do not recommend this place. If they can be rude to you and treat you like crap, what else are they willing to do to your car to make money???

Always great and quick service

Ive been taking my vehicles (Nissan, Honda, BMW and Toyota) there for many years now. Everything from smog checks, brakes, radiator, sparkplugs and more, BP76 has always completed the job correctly. I wish Gary would install some recliners and have beer on tap!

I am not one to write reviews, nor am I one to make a decision based on reviews I believe in finding things out for myself. Well let me tell you this place was horrific!! Not only did they fix things that werent wrong with my car (got a second opinion) I took my car in for a smog check and they ended doing 1200 worth of work to top it off they kept calling me back telling me every time they fixed something something else needed to be fixed . Finally I had enough took it somewhere else explained to the person my experience and he checked my car and said it didnt need the work they did and i was able to get a smog check right then and there no problems and passed!! Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place they will suck you dry. I will be calling the federal Bussiness Bureau

Be aware of unwarranted and unsolicited repair when doing smog service at this location.My normal smog service station in the area was closed for smog certification and decided to give this location a try. After performing the requested smog certification on my vehicle I was informed that I needed to have my serpentine belt for the main drive changed because it was damaged and frayed thus needed immediate service. They kindly offered a price quote on the spot, little did they know Im a ASE certified master technician for the last 22 yrs. Just to satisfy my curiosity, I inquired about his concern and to point out what the issue was on the main drive belt. Lets just say myself being in the industry I was disgusted and yet not surprised by his attempts to take advantage of an unsuspecting customer as an idiots in making a unnecessary repair to make a fast buck.Make sure you know your mechanic and be sure to read upon their service reviews before diving in head first.

Life saver. I called two other shops with a broken fuel tank strap and they all said go get the part first and maybe we can help. The Bonita team said come right in. I was in and out in 25 minutes. Again they are life savers. Go see them and call them first

I’m pretty sure they didn’t change my oil because my dashboard was telling me I need an oil change only after a day and it took 3 hours to get my car back. I also went in for my brakes to be changed and they gave cheap breaks that started squeaking after a week and it cost $500. Never coming back.

I came in on a busy day and was attended to within minutes. Almost no wait at all. They found the leak, pulled the wheel and did the repair. I was back on the road in no time and for a very reasonable price. Very courteous, friendly and helpful. I will return.

They were really trying to hustle me here. Not only did they demand I get unneeded services done to my car, they did not even do what they say they were going to do. I paid $300 for a transmission oil change and they didnt even change the oil. I had my father inspect the car after my visit here because I noticed how they were trying to hustle every customer who went in. I will never return to this place again! People be aware!!! This place is the stereotypical auto shop that you would find on a youtube video where they are put on blast because they steal from their customers!!!!!!! Listen to the bad reviews on this one because its true.

Brought my Silverado in for a smog check. While I waited I observed everyone there is very nice and professional. I decided to bring my truck back to them for some additional services. My truck runs great! And I got a call from them a week later following up to make sure everything is ok. I found my new mechanics!

Disappointed that smog tech failed (or chose not to) recognize C.A.R.B numerology on my after market K&N filter and failed the smog test stating there was no C.A.R.B. sticker. This has not been an issue for me before and since there are no free re-tests here, well, you decide. Will take my five vehicles elsewhere for smog checks ($19.95 + $8.25 for cert) at L Street 76. Yes, I know you have a discounted re-test which is still $38 (no thanks).According to the below a C.A.R.B. sticker is not required only that the EO number be provided which was clearly indicated on the intake.however if proof is shown that the upgrade units are legal for use in California (they posses an EO number) or they are OEM parts, they will not cause a vehicle to fail the California smog check.EO stands for Executive Order. This is a number given to the emission upgrade component by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). The EO number indicates the performance upgrade part is California emissions legal.Most manufactures of aftermarket performance parts will stamp the EO number on the unit or they will print in the units manual or other document which pertains directly to the performance upgrade component being installed or inspected.Most late model upgrade components however will have the EO number stamped on the upgrade parts body.You must present this number to the smog station where your vehicle will be getting a smog check in order to pass the visual portion of the smog inspection.Every Executive Order part or modification has an assigned number that can be verified by Smog Check stations, BAR Referee stations, or by the ARBSuggest your SMOG Tech does his homework..............

I used to take my car there for simple mechanical repairs, used to be honest.I took my car there today and noticed management has changed. Asked for a quote on replacing the brake pads for my car. The manager was very rude, as if they were making me a favor.Way overpriced ($600 bucks for replacing pads? cmon!). I called the dealer and its almost half of that.

I dropped off my car, walked home (a few blocks) and by the time I got home it was ready. Great job. Good service on smog check.

Made an appointment over the phone for an oil change, so I came in the next day and they were busy but still completed my oil change within the hour and found that my air filter needed to be replaced so they went ahead and did that and only charged me for the part and no additional labor cost

When I first walk in to Bonita Point 76, everyone is really nice. I noticed they are teling the customers what they need, not just to make money. They are professional and they care about their custtomers its obvious.

This shows an establishment cares for their reputation and wanting to provide care for your needs.She broke down piece by piece about my receipt, the labor going into the car, the car parts to be used, clean up services and more.After the discussion, I understand why the price is what it is.For anyone reading this review, please communicate your thoughts to the establishment instead of keeping it all to yourself and labeling car shops as the bad guy.They were friendly and efficient on catering to my concerns and I appreciate that.For those who need to know pricing:Diagnostic is $109.50 which is standard, perhaps cheaper than other shops. A diagnostic serves to check EVERYTHING in your car to seek what needs fixing and tuning.Labor is $110.00 an hour on NON-EUROPEAN cars. On European cars it is $140.00 an hour. Labor serves as the mechanics putting the repairs onto your vehicle. (I dont think I need to explain that, but i did.)Parts they recieve are from NAPA Auto Care and if not from them, a trusted seller whom they have a relationship with. These parts tend to be OEM which is important because you dont want a knock off brand to break down your car. (Wondering about where they bought the specific part to your car? Ask them!)All parts USUALLY have a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty and this is good due to parts can fail. (Knocks on wood.) Some parts come with 24 month/24,000 mile warranties. (Be sure to ask!)They offer discounts for AAA members as well as Military personnel, 10% off (maximum of $50.)Picture enclosed is how a receipt will be broken down by parts and labor.

I always take my 1979 Cadillac El Dorado there for smog ,major and minor repairs.They are very fair in their pricing and I get my car back in a timely manner.The people are very nice and professional there.
