Would honestly give zero stars if I could. extremely rude and never willing to work with you and could never in a million years have a proper adult conversation without yelling at you and treating you very poorly. They don’t care about their properties they don’t care about the people living in them and I just got hung up on for asking a genuine question and I was never rude. they do not care about anything and they will take it advantage of you. They treat you like you’re stupid.

I do not recommend this company to rent with for students especially, or anyone else for that manner. the receptionist and manager are very rude, they basically cussed me out today and said very rude things to me for continously checking the status of my application every other day. They are very poorly managed and do not care about respecting others, and get frustrated easily even when I was very respectful and apologized repeatedly for offending them for my persistence. If anyone knows how I can repot them for discrimination please let me know. Dont say I didnt warn you, they seem like the type to take advantage of students. She literally hung up in my face when I asked if there was a later time if I could speak to the manager, and when I called back he was heard very lodly in the background telling her to hang up and saying other rude stuff as well. Dont say I didnt warn you.

I would not recommend calling this place if you are on section 8 they told me I have to make 3 times the rent but with 3 times the rent I would not need nor be able to get section as raggedy as the places looked I did not think they would be so condescending ...awful professionalism and despicable character

If I could give JR Homes a 0 star review I would. They are terrible, Jeff (property manager) could care less about the property or it’s tenants. We lived in one of their properties and they refused to fix anything! Luckily we finally moved out but the unit was infested with rats and black mold. I did report them to code enforcement to the issues will be handled accordingly. Please for your own well-being rent from someone else. Jeff even had the nerve to blame us for the black mold and rats even though we notified them several times about the progressing issues and yet they still never took action to resolve the problems. They should not be running a business.

They do not upkeep their properties on the inside and the property manager is a surly old man who does not respect the tenants. He wakes us up leaf blowing and mowing the lawn at least once a week. When confronted he is rude and disrespectful.

I tried contacting this business several times (in person, email and via phone). After arranging a meeting, the manager failed to show up. I then tried to call to see if the miscommunication was on my part. Was met with a busy tone. I finally tried to send a email to reach out and then waited over a week for some sort of follow up and still heard nothing. If you can, rent from someone who is reliable, because if this is any indication of how they are as management I wouldnt want anything to do with them.

Moved in on a lease take over pretty quickly so the carpet had not been cleaned, although it was not what I would call dirty but they took money off the price of deposit when I asked. My experience with them has always more above and beyond a professional level, always friendly and welling to help with all our needs as a renter. Currently still renting from JR Homes, will continue to rent from them. lts been a great renting experience.

I lived at a home Jeff manages for three and a half years. It was a great experience. I have not one complaint. I cant say enough positive things about my time living there. Jeff was always great to deal with and always understanding. Any maintenance issues that came up were handled promptly and thoroughly. The staff in his office were always friendly and easy to deal with. If I ever move back to Chico I will contact Jeff first. If I ever invest in property in the Chico area I will contact Jeff to manage it.I just wanted to add a few words about my experience living there after the fact... I moved out of the area a few months ago. Below is my original review that talks about my experience living there early on. I definitely recommend JR Homes.I have had a great experience with Jeff at JR Homes. I felt like I was treated fairly in the application process and Jeff has always been straight forward with me when I had questions. He has always gotten back to me in a reasonable amount of time (even over the Christmas holiday, which is when I was moving into my new place) and maintenance has always been performed promptly. Jeff also manages the property next door to me and from conversations Ive had with my neighbors they seem happy with him too. The house I rent is old and has some minor issues but the rent is priced accordingly and like I said, any maintenance issues that Ive had so far have been handled immediately when they needed to be and within a reasonable amount of time when it wasnt something urgent. In dealing with Jeff in his office he and his staff have always been respectful and professional.

Move in was horrible. Nothing had been cleaned. When I was trying to explain that nothing had been cleaned they made me speak in front of the cleaning lady. I took 90+ pictures and 3 videos and received a week off rent because they agreed with me that nothing had been cleaned. The front loader washer machines have mold in the rubber sealing. They came and threw in some cleaning tablets and used the cleaning setting to try and remove the mold...didnt work. Nothing more has been done. Their idea of making the laundry room door more secure is to place a block of wood in front of where the lock goes into the frame. This makes it so when you hold the handle to shut the door you now pinch your hands between the handle and this block of wood.

Very rude about fixing things at the apartment. They replaced the fridge in the apartment, but it leaks and the freezer door gets stuck. Whenever I bring up any maintenance complaints Jeff says Well in the end if you dont like the place you dont have to live here. JR Homes just took over the management for the apartment Ive lived in for years and I have never experienced management more terrible than JR Homes!

668 East 4th Street: Renter bewareI have not lived in these apartments so I can only speak towards first impressions of management and the quality of the apartment during the open house.During the viewing, the apartment was still littered with the previous tenants furniture, beer bottles, cigarette butts, prescription bottles, and garbage; per open houses with standard rental management companies, I had assumed the place would be clean and free of litter for prospective renters (one of the attendees had two teenage children). Jeff, the manager, was nice enough to answer most of our questions but did not even know how to open the back door or where the laundry washer was, indicating he is very out of touch with his properties.There is one grounded outlet in the entire apartment, cracks in the walls from sagging age, the door to the back staircase is broken as if someone ripped up the screen to get in, and the condition is overall very poor.The 2br apartment is available for $850, which is high in asking price given the condition. But the fact that Jeff only held the open house for a full 15 minutes before saying bluntly I really have to go drove us away. You get what you pay for and management clearly treats this apartment with a revolving door policy.

Horrible. Dirty, run down houses, very strict on partying on their houses in the streets. Most of their houses are in bad areas of town. At the end of my lease my house got broken into after roomates and I locked up, JR homes showed the house to prospective buyers and left our back door unlocked, allowing robbers to walk right in. Lost everything, horrible experience from a terrible company. One nice office lady works there, the other is rude and unehelpful, Jeff who runs the place is completely lazy, unhelpful, and unresponsive.

They make it so its impossible to find a new apartment because they never get in touch with anyone. They didnt give a clean apartment to begin with and then have the audacity to keep half the deposit. Customer service in the office is very poor as well.
