North Rim consistently provides excellent service. Today I went in to drop off one of my bikes for some much needed servicing. Was also hoping to find a new townie bike for my wife. She has had her eye on the Electra Loft 7i Step-Thru...and she wanted it in Blue! According to the Trek website the bike was essentially unavailable throughout our area. North Rim had the green version in the window, and I thought we were out of luck. However, on my way out of the store I asked if there as any chance they had the bike in the window available in BLUE. Boom!! They had just built one up and it was right there on the showroom floor! Happy Wife, Happy Life, right?!! :)

Excellent service! My pandemic hunt for a mountain bike ended at North Rim Adventure Sports. Gail worked to find me the bike I wanted. I was notified as soon as orders came in and was thrilled when I got the call that my bike was built and ready for pickup. The staff worked quickly and efficiently to make the final adjustments for me and get me out the door just before closing. I would definitely recommend them for their service, product selection and knowledge.

I went to buy a Trek Marlin 6 in Factory Orange for my wife at my local bike shop (Folsom Bike), however they didnt have any in stock and Andrew told me if I really wanted one I had better get in my car and head up to Chico!! I did, and shes got a bike that she loves and the staff at Chico were awesome, they even stayed a little after hours for me when I hit traffic on the way there. Highly recommend this shop, Ill be buying my first Santa Cruz at this shop in the not too distant future!!!

I love this bike shop! Great people and selection. I bought a bike and helmet for my son and was in and out in 20 . minutes. They adjusted all the brakes levers and seat and went through gears with him. Great staff

They hang their hat on selection and availability while customer service, once the sale is rung up, is non-existent. Definitely disappointed I didnt wait a few weeks for REI to refresh their stock.

Staff is very helpful and make you feel welcome when you walk in, which seems rare these days. Very nice selection of high end bicycles and what nots. The metal fabrication company I work for, Chico Metal Fabrication and Design recently made some custom bicycle display racks for them and they were a great group of people to do business with. I have been coming to North Rim for decades! They are always so nice and helpful. I just had some racks put on my car and then was going to get a bike rack. Well there was a problem with the bike rack not working. I could not get my bike home, so a young man said he would drop it off after work, since I had no way of getting the bike home. Every person I have dealt with has been very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. They will always have my business! Thank you!

First I was measured to find the right size bike. Then they helped me find the type of bike I was looking for. Then I was encouraged to take a couple of them for test drives, which really helped me know what they felt like to ride. They also helped me find all the accessories I wanted. They recommended I come back after I rode 5 good rides to make any final adjustments that could make it feel even better.

Pleased with our purchase. My wife loves the bike. Didnt know bikes were this expensive though. Inflation I guess. It is a quality bike and rides like a dream. Thanks for the help and great service.

I had the fortune of having Nolan help me a few weeks ago, while I was looking for a kayak rack for my 2017 4Runner. Very very helpful but a little over priced.

Over a few weeks I stopped in at four Chico bike shops and spent several hours researching bikes, frames, components and bike prices online. I compared new online prices using google wayback, web history etc… and used values on Ebay sold items and various bike valuation tools as well. I spoke with Tyler who readily answered my questions and gave me time to test the bikes and Chris was helpful when Tyler was already helping another customer. I was given good options that matched the best prices on new bikes I could find online and a very good price on one of North Rim’s Full Suspension “Demos” that was well maintained. I expected that a Local Bike Shop “LBS” might not be as price competitive as chain bike stores or EBay etc… but I am thankful that Chico being a bike city has the volume to support the extra service, bike demoing, safe assembly and backup of a “LBS” while getting a very good deal. It was a casual sale too and Tyler readily gave me a fair price. I set out with the intention of supporting a local Chico “LBS” and I had a good experience at all four stores with North Rim having the bike that suited me best. Thanks

North rim was the spot for mtb maintenance and repair. Im so sick of this place now, they have lost every good qualified employee, the place looks like a typical trek store and the manager tyler is rude and likes to tell you how much better trek bikes are then mine. This was the last time I will go to that place. Ltd is really coming up in the service department and Frank took care of me and let me choose what I liked not what he liked.

I had an overall poor experience getting my bicycle repaired at North Rim. I dont typically write reviews, but the service here warranted an honest critique. They changed my quote for repairs three times, from $140 to $250 to $270. The final bill was over $300 for repairs for a 1980s era road bike that I had gotten for free. The work seems to have been done fine, but I felt taken advantage of, as they raised the repair cost only AFTER some work had already been completed, instead of being honest with me up front about the work needed. For the amount of money I ended up spending there I could have bought a new bike. They had my bicycle there for nearly a month repairing it and waiting on a rare part, and didnt even seem to clean it thoroughly. The customer service was also not very good, and it felt like the service manager kept avoiding me when I would go in to get an update.I understand that the parts and labor are expensive and can be hard to find, but I felt that they were dishonest in the way dealt with me, and that they exploited my lack of bicycle repair knowledge. Go somewhere else.
