My jeep wasn’t running right, but wasn’t sure of the issue. Turns out the clutch needed some replacing, and they got it done right proper. Always trust them to do a good and thorough job.

My regular mechanics placed burned down in the Campfire.. so when my Honda broke down 108 miles from home I was at a loss for what to do. Affordable was recommended by a good friend and they got me back on the road without breaking the bank! Conviently located from Paradise too!

Good honest shop, friendly staff. Knowledgeable and very helpful when you need it. Pricing is more reasonable than most shops I have been to. They came highly recommended from friends and I was happy they lived up to it when they replaced brakes on my car recently. They also replaced suspension on my other vehicle. Even diagnosed problems other shops could not identify properly.

I cant begin to tell you how thankful I am of Simon and all the mechanics at Affordable. They took my car in when they didnt have much availability when my check engine light came on. Even with a stubborn car that was being difficult they worked on it until it was fixed. They were kind, compassionate and understanding of my needs being I live out of town and needed transportation quick. They are a great group of mechanics that do amazing work for an affordable price. I went here after getting a quote from a different shop to replace my headlight bulbs for $300. I am so glad I came here because these guys helped me right away and worked hard to replace the bulbs. It was tedious because there wasn’t much space to work with, and they had to move many parts under the hood. After they were done they refused to let me pay them. Even after sweating in the sun for a good hour working on my car they were friendly. I will be bringing my car in the future if it ever needs repairs. Thanks guys!

Honestly discovered this place on accident, but glad I did! I just needed to install some headlight kits that I purchased myself, and Affordable Auto was not only willing to cater to this, but also reasonably priced in doing so. In addition, they were able to generously allow me to show up 15 min past closing time to pay for my service and pick up my car, which was a great accommodation of my full time work schedule. Technicians are honest and transparent, and I definitely recommend getting services done here 👌

There were several things I did not care for regarding this shop. The main issues I have was not diagnosing my A/C problem the first time I brought it in and then sending me on my way after charging me $160. Then keeping my car for a month with barely any communication to diagnose it the second time. Sorry guys, I wanted to like this place but I won’t be going back there or recommending for service.

This is hands down the best auto place in Chico. I’ve been taking my vehicles here for years and every time they are quick and speedy and honest (which is huge.) It’s the best value you’ll find and I always have a very comfortable, friendly experience.

Affordable? They overcharge on parts. Period. They charged me over $100 for spark plug leads (!) that are $50 at the parts stores. I know for a fact they pay wholesale prices for their parts anyhow bc I did my own warranty return on some other parts from them. They treated me like a low value customer, my older vehicle was clearly not a priority to them - they would take days to get back to me and would have let me drive off with my driver door damaged by staff if I hadnt brought it up. I went out of my way to go with them, but all this left a bad taste and I wont be back.

Always a good experience at Affordable Automotive. We have had repairs done that were only 1/3 of the amount quoted at the dealership.

Affordable is always a good value. They do great work. The work is guaranteed. They are pleasant and respectful. And they are, as their name implies, affordable. I recommend them highly.

Affordable Automotive sent a detailed report of their suggested repairs in addition to our oil change. There were clear photographs of each component of the vehicle they were discussing on a website which also offers an app for easy log-keeping. At first I thought the cost for an oil change/tune-up was a little pricey but, now that I see the level of quality of the diagnostic, I understand and appreciate the service we received.

These guys are good. Professional, capable and courteous at a fair price. I will continue to use them and recommend them to my friends and family.

Every one was very kind. I was a day late for my appointment. I wrote it on my calendar wrong. They said they would look into the problem I was having with the coolant when they could fit it in to their schedule. Which they did. Sam gave me a ride back home and picked me up when the car was finished.

We took my sons car in because we had replaced a couple of sensors and still could not get the check engine light turn off. The staff was friendly and made sure we understood what needed to be done and the cost. The repairs were done quickly and we had the car back the same day. It’s a great feeling to take your car to a shop you trust and don’t feel like they took advantage of you!

My wife took her 2007 Toyota Yaris to AA to get a new alternator. They charged her twice the amount that another reputable repair shop quoted us. We figured that maybe they were doing more work, or replacing some of the wiring. We just found out that they were charging her over $300 for a refurbished alternator. The other place quoted us $210 for a quality new one. They apologized for not having a cheaper one in stock. A A does good work, but will over charge you. IM wondering if they would have charged me, a male who knows his way around an engine, the same amount. We will not be going back to AA. In these tough times they shouldnt be overcharging people.

Have ignition problems on my 96 Jeep Cherokee. The price I quoted me was more than reasonable to fix it and at the last minute I needed a smog certificate and they were more than happy to accommodate me. I was very impressed with their professionalism and their prices.

We just picked up our Subaru and it is running just as it should. Affordable went above and beyond in analyzing our problem. It turned out that a part tested OK but not bad. This required the shop to spend much more time to diagnose our problem than they planned for or anticipated. Our bill was very reasonable and I am impressed that they did not charge us for the additional time they spent diagnosing our Subaru.No doubt, they are our shop now. Our old shop in Paradise is no longer in business.

They are the best in town. Ive been taking my car, and my daughters car there for years. They are the best price. They try to be as flexible with appointments as they humanly can, and do the jobs quickly and to an excellent standard. I wont go anywhere else.

Took my truck in on Monday to fix an issue. They thought they had it, but when I picked the truck up and drive home the problem remained. I called them the next day and dropped the truck off again. They found a larger issue and fixed it at no cost to me for the trouble of my having to bring it back. Cant fault that kind of customer service.

I love how informative they are. When they find a problem they dont just tell you about it, they take pictures & sometimes even a video and send it to a file for you to review to show proof. No wonder theyve made Best of Chico 6 years in a row.

All I needed was a diagnostics on what was wrong they told my grand father we could drive it home but he didn’t know how far it would make it and I originally thought they drained my power-steering fluid but no they took my serpentine belt off and dint put it back on

Costs an absurd amount, way higher than everywhere else, just to take a look at the vehicle. There are way more “affordable” places you can go instead of “affordable automotive”.

They do the same work as other car repairs and maintenance and they do it well but for less than others charge! Plus, they are very friendly and honest!! Its awesome!!

Last month I got my Air Condition fixed in my Van. I received excellent service by Simon. The AC works great and the price was Awesome!! for todays prices. I was so pleased I took my Van to them again for more repairs. This time my experience was very different. I did write a review about it. The owner/manager Mike called me up to apologize and to tell me how important I was as a customer and that my less than excellent service upset him deeply. This impressed me very much. Most companies dont care and just dismiss complaints as if the customer was not worth caring about. Mike at Affordable Automotive REALLY CARES!!!!! The prices can not be beat!! So I truly recommend this business to everyone because here your 100% satisfaction is important!!!!

I am a new resident to Chico, and for these services in the East Bay in the Bay Area I had been paying over double that amount twice a year. I was having two issues. An intermittent starting issue and a clunk in the front end.The clunk turned out to be a cracked motor mount. They were able to replace it the same day and the charge was very reasonable.Unfortunately the intermittent starting problem would not duplicate even though they tried on several occasions and even kept it overnight to try again in the morning.Best part, no charge for the diagnostic and analysis, since nothing was found.They found some other minor issues that dont require immediate attention and made me aware, with their prices for repair when I am ready.Affordable Automotive has always been honest, fair and fast with my repairs. And they have fair prices.Moreover, the customer service, from management to the repair personnel is professional, friendly and above reproach.

I have lowered my 5 star rating to 3 stars:Sadly, as Affordable Automotive has gotten popular, they have become NOT Affordable anymore :(We no longer take our cars there because now they charge almost $100 just to diagnose it, even if it ends up being a minor problem. Also, there has been a significant increase in their prices in the past year. We have found another mechanic who is honest and affordable.We take 4 cars to Affordable (our whole family)! We started off taking my husbands and my car to them about 6 or 7 years ago. As our kids have grown and gotten cars of their own, Affordable has taken care of us. They are fair and never try to pad charges. In fact, if we take a car in and it turns out to be nothing, they never charge us. I always recommend them to our friends. We love Affordable Automotive :)

Great service, honesty, and affordable. I had my car towed in after I hit a bump and stalled out of town. After telling Aaron the whole story he said give me 3 minutes and I will take care of it. He came back after a few minutes and said it was ready to go. He explained to me that it was a simple safety mechanism that was set off by the bump I hit. He refused to charge me anything and sent me on my way. He did test drive it first to make sure he was not missing anything. He has earned a new customer as I am new to Chico. I will take all of my cars to them from now on.

What an awesome company. In addition to the honest, accurate and fair priced work they do the customer care is top notch. There was a simple misunderstanding (by a very new employee) that resulted in our car being locked in the shop when they left for the weekend. It was to be left in the parking lot with the key hidden in it since we had already paid for the work the plan was to pick it up using our spare key to gain entry. When it wasnt out front as per plan we thought we would be without the car for the weekend. We made a phone call and one of the owners was down there in no time at all to retrieve our car . That level of customer care (not just service is very hard to find. These guys do very professional work, will allow you to supply most parts if you can find them cheaper and are know to go above and beyond what any reasonable person would expect in terms of customer care. Thank you guys so MUCH you saved 2 cars and an entire weekend. We will most certainly be referring you to anybody that needs a mechanic. Thanks again for being so awesome!

When you walk into a restaurant and you are the only one there, its a pretty good indicator the food is probably not very good. Affordable Automotive is the opposite, it is always super busy because they are the best in town. If you are bringing in your vehicle, its a good idea to call ahead because they are almost always at max capacity. Ive been here several times now and they always provide amazing service at a fair price. Ill never go anywhere else as long as they are around. Id give them 10 stars if I could. Could not be happier!

Great Customer Service & Great Prices - I moved to Chico from the Bay Area in 2008 and I had to take my Honda Accord to a few different shops before I found one I really enjoyed. They are upfront and honest with their evaluations. My car had a ton of miles and the guys at Affordable Automotive were nice enough to work on the most important item first and then they gave me a list of things would need to be repaired next - giving me time to prepare for it in advance. I have since gotten married and now I take my wifes car to Affordable Automotive as well. I wouldnt take my cars anywhere else!

As I knew my Passat required a bit of special attention, I was pleasantly surprised when the owner contacted me directly to discuss the diagnosis and recommended repairs. He took the time to make sure I understood what was needed to get the car back in top shape without overselling me on items or services that werent needed. And as my car is high in mileage, I was also given advice on what to look for with regard to potential warnings signs of future issues (especially those that are common with my specific vehicle). I definitely recommend.

Didnt get a chance to make an appointment. I called in and spoke with Simon and asked for the soonest available appointment for a DIAGNOSIS and without just scheduling me, he asked whats wrong?I told him I was getting a p1271 code in my 2005 Nissan Altima, and I had already replaced the o2 sensor and was still getting the code.He proceeded to GOOGLE my code and regurgitate the exact same bad information that I had already searched for without finding a good answer.He gave up after 5 minutes, took my number and said he would call me back as soon as possible and this was 2 weeks ago. I dont think Ill ever use this place for automotive care ever.
