I would give these guys 10 stars if I could. I got locked out of my house while on vacation and got home to discover this after a 12 hour flight home. I was so frazzled and these guys listened to me and sent someone over within 15 minutes. I was in my house in 2 seconds. They were very professional and got the job done quickly. This place went above and beyond and saved us! We lost the only key to our car at Montrose beach on a summer evening, and they were one of the only companies to respond. They texted us throughout to tell us when our locksmith was on the way.We originally had challenges with the design of the car (not their fault) and thought we would have to tow it, but they kept working on it until it was resolved. They told us they would have another guy come before they made us tow it!! He didn’t have to come (thankfully) but it made us feel secure that they would do whatever it took to get our car up and running!All this was happening at 10-11 at night. They got out here, they took care of it even when it was difficult, and didn’t leave us having to tow our car. I am VERY thankful to them and would call them in any future situation.

Used him for my wifes 2013 Durango. He programmed and made a new key fob, 3 months later the key wouldnt work and was unprogrammed. I had to tow the vehicle home and when we reached out to get the issue resolved he sent us to another person who was completely rude about the situation and wanted to charge us for a new key. When we tried reaching out again he ignored our calls. Would not recommend save yourself the hassle and money and go somewhere else.

In addition to getting the door open, he determined why the lock mechanism had failed to act properly, corrected the fault, did a little more to improve the locks functioning, and volunteered to alert us if he came across a piece of hardware (vintage doorknob) that would be useful to us. JR recently helped us re-key a 3 flat to have a master key system. He was great to work with from start to finish. Hes easy to talk to, explains his prices clearly as well as your options, and is good at communicating promptly. He planned to come out just for an estimate but since wed talked previously, we ended up just doing the work that day. I appreciated his flexibility in helping us get the work done in the timeframe we were looking for. He is a skilled technician who has a fully service work van. His prices were also very fair and some of the most reasonable we encountered after getting quotes.

Above and beyond...literally. My first experience with Chitown Locks and Keys was superb. I was nervous to call, because I hadnt locked myself out of my car in at least 20+ years, and I had no idea what it was going to cost or if I was calling a reputable company. Then Junior showed up. He was friendly, extremely helpful, and FAST! I was grateful to him for not overcharging me, for actually finding me in the maze they call 55 E. Monroe, and for offering to help me figure out the problem with my drivers side door. Before he left, I made sure to add Chitown Locks and Keys to my contact list (just in case) and hurried to my appointment. Fast forward to one year later...55 E. Monroe. Would you believe I locked my keys in the car again? Except this time the car was running. What a moron. Sure enough, there was Junior in my contact list. Losing an only key is a very silly thing to do but happens a lot and especially one for a motorcycle. I called JR and he was very professional and quickly scheduled something in the books for the following day. I was happy to find a person that knows how to make a key for a motorcycle. Jr did roughly come about 30 minutes late from our scheduled appointment and I did have to call him to verify his ETA but Chicago traffic is definitely the factor there. When he came, it was rather quick and he made my keys. I would say the price to make the keys for a motorcycle that doesnt have a fob(HISS) was on the high end in my opinion but I wasnt in a position to negotiate due to not having a key. Overall it was needed and glad I was able to get a key.

Fantastic service. Below zero, came after 10 at night. Just had a locksmith from a different company extract my broken key from the ignition in my AUDI and made me a new key. The new key was bad (just cut the key, not attached to anything), need to use pliers to turn on my car while holding the key fob next to it. He came and attached the new key to another key fob for temporary use. Didnt charge me anything. And hes now going to make me a new original key with the key fob. Just cant believe he didnt charge me for coming out (its below zero outside). He felt bad for the shoddy service from the other locksmith who is in no way associated with him (which is on me for being desperate and not thinking straight). Awesome service, will recommend to anyone I know.
