Planet fitness is very affordable at $10/mo, far better than my last gym’s $100/mo. Doesn’t have a pool or towels but that’s a fair sacrifice for the money saved!Pretty clean, well provisioned in terms of wipes and lockers and the machines you want to see. Employees are help and available.Sometimes I think the sprays and paper towels are not checked often enough so they can often be empty. Not a big inconvenience though.I recommend it!

First time in a PF, signed up w/ Active and Fit Direct. Front desk member was quick to sign me up. No card given, everything provided on app due to Covid.Decent selection of machines, albeit cramped. Wish there was a row machine (ERG). Showers not so private, but workable.Pretty much only myself and the staff wearing masks (July 3rd).Covid has NOT left the room...

I would definitely recommend visiting any gym you are thinking of joining before actually getting a membership. You want to gather how you feel in the atmosphere. I requested a tour of the gym, which I will admit it isnt the biggest gym, but it is a solid place to work on your fitness goals. Maintain your expectations. This gym has a good atmosphere, clean equipment, decent staff, and the people here are just working out nothing more, nothing less.

They finally unlocked all the machines from the Covid hysteria. It was okay, my only slight would be broken/uneven machines, and that they dont sell anything good in the fridge in chicago. The one in south bend has something called celsius that I really like. Other than that, can still kill it no problem.

This location is impossible to find and how are you going to have a bunch of people that work here that’s either not from Chicago or new to Chicago ñ or just can’t help you with anything? What’s the odds? Makes no sense at all to me, the company is great and I love what they are doing with their memberships for the prices that they have them for, but this particular location? I think I’ll pass on them and just find another one where their employees actually know what they are talking about

Love this gym! Everyone is super nice and the location is great. Ive been a regular for about a year now, and it has everything I (a relatively average female) need/want in a gym. Even during covid, there is plenty of machine availability and space (although that has decreased a bit with the start of the new year, I think it will go back to normal soon)Plenty of cardio (eliptical, arclight, treadmill) machines all on the bottom and one of the upper floors. The 20-minute circuit used to be one of my go-tos since it gives you a great full-body weight lifting routine mixed in with cardio suggestions, but that is mostly closed-off with covid. There are a decent amount of weights and other machines. I see some pretty fit guys playing around in the weight area, so it seems like it has a broad appeal.locker rooms are currently closed, but in the past, I have left a necklace or water bottle accidentally and each time the front desk had found it and rescued it for me! Not a lot of classes, but overall a great place to pursue your fitness goals.

The front desk people were very nice and helpful and the view from inside is also amazing. THEY STOLE MONEY FROM ME. Due to the negligence of one of their employees, they did not close all my accounts. I ended up getting charged for 2 annual fees. When I called to ask for a refund, they said there was nothing they could do. I find that hard to believe because they have a cash register full of money and have the funds to be located in Streeterville. Their corporate office was even more useless.

I love this gym! It’s small but has everything I need. The staff is super friendly and I never feel like I’m being judged while I’m here. The only downfall is that there are no scales at the gym, which I can understand because of the no judgment part, I just think it would be helpful for me. But other than that it’s great!

The Streeterville Planet Fitness is clean, friendly, & reasonable.

Wish the locker rooms here were bigger. There’s no privacy, just an open room with all lockers along the perimeter. Due to the location- it’s usually pretty busy and there’s often a wait for certain machines. Lots of treadmills available. They also offer premium services here like a massage chair and drinks. This place would be a lot better with improved locker rooms.

My 1st time Coming Back after the Pandemic kinda calmed down...havent worked out in a Few months..it felt Pretty Good To do atleast 30 to 40 mins..Thank you i cleaned every machine before i got on an cleaned after I finished.

If this gym was the last gym in earth i wont join them , the service was bad , the form of joining is endless , i did put my name and address more than three times in several forms i swear this thing will never end and the reception guys wasnt helping in this so that i left them and my advice dont join them

I would give a negative star if I could. The facility themselves lack any sort of machines or weights to actually lift. Additionally when you attempt to cancel your membership they make you go through loops and hurdles. I have attempted to cancel my account for over 3 months now. I have submitted the proper paperwork they had lost. The affordable 10$ a month is not worth it when you spend 40$ for a club you havent even been able to use.

Nice to have a Planet Fitness right downtown. Very convenient because it’s close to all the shopping, hotels, and restaurants. It’s located above a Whole Foods. There’s a nice selection of equipment and everything seems well kept.

I love this gym because it is a no frills type of gym. No one bothers you, no cliques, no lines for equipment. The atmosphere is not intimidating and there are no meatheads. I love to see staff constantly cleaning with vacuum backpacks.Thanks Planet Fitness for being in my neighborhood!

The equipment and facilities are truly not as bad as what Im reading in the other reviews, but this planet fitness either has no or some of the worst air conditioning Ive ever seen in a gym. In the summer it gets unbearably hot, and the giant ceiling fans just blow the hot smelly air around the gym. Im honestly surprised more people arent passing out in that gym, but if youre into things like hot yoga, this might be the perfect place for you!

Wow! I get so many good vibes from this location! The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially the manager... I think her name is Amanda. Everyone always greets you with a smile on their face, and I feel like they are quick to resolve issues. Its very convenient for where I work, and the cleanliness has really improved. Overall, Ive had nothing but great experiences.

I just joined this club last week and i am loving it, location is perfect for me, its nice and clean every time i visited, staff is so helpful, just 2 more things i want there, first, there should be a wider and better place and machine for Pull ups there r 2 there but one of them is too close with my body and other is bit better but should be a bit higher, and second , there should be a hair dry in the changing rooms, we need that in winter time specially , if these r possible

I dont understand the hate for PF, because its a perfectly fine place to workout, as long as you manage your expectations. For the price, you cant expect a luxury gym and spa, you know? I appreciate the fact that they have tons of treadmills, because I primarily go to run in the winter. One star off simply because there are no hair dryers at this location, which is annoying. I sweat a lot and dont want to go back to work with greasy or wet hair. Plus I already have a lot of stuff in my gym bag, so I dont really want to add a bulky hair dry, you know? But the staff is friendly and its usually clean enough.

Really like this location and the staff are nice. The facility is clean and has a good selection of weights and cardio machines. LOVE the hydro massage and the individual sauna room! You dont have to share the sauna like other gyms.

The gym is ok and it is a basic gym. Some machines need repair and are broken? It would be better if there were better mats for stretching upstairs and to relax after the work out. The customer care attendants act like robots when they say bye. It seems a bit robotic and depressing but, it is a cheap gym. The location is good in the city.

I was in the area of this PF and am a black card member so decided to go . I called this location prior to going to inquire about parking and was told that parking was free in the parking garage and bring in ticket to get validated. Parked, came in, got ticket validated, worked out and when leaving out of parking garage told to pay $21 so I thought maybe the parking validation didn’t work. So I parked again and went back in to ask the girl that validated the parking ticket. She told me that validation is only for 30-60 minuets which would have been nice to know when I called or even when I came in beforehand. She then said “I don’t know what to tell you, sorry” What kind of customer service is this? It’s the kind that cares more about being on their phone then helping the customer as she seemed as I was interrupting her and whatever she was doing on her phone. Now by the time I walk back to my vehicle to exit garage, parking is now $27 so thank you to this girl that clearly doesn’t like her job or doing it at all! Even coming in when I got the ticket validated she seemed as if I was bothering her by getting the parking ticket validated. I guess it would have been so hard to tell a customer about how the parking actually works instead of telling me after the fact or even when I called, instead you tell me it’s free, when it’s really not FREE. If you don’t like where you work, QUIT! $27 for an 90 min workout! Called corporate and they don’t know what to tell me because it’s independently owned? Really? Who cares it’s still a Plant Fitness! I’m already considering canceling my membership due to this, I live by at least 10 other gyms. I will also have my family cancel theirs as well so that will be 3 memberships. PF customer service is obviously not there to help the customer! For other customers considering this location FYI parking is NOT FREE and the gym is not very big, or clean, or a good selection of equipment. This location and employee get a 0 STAR!!! Been a PF member at different locations as Ive moved across the US (Yuma AZ, Midland/Mt Pleasant MI, Springfield MO, Las Vegas NV, Madison WI, etc) for almost 10 years. Went there this weekend with another black card member and two family members and were turned away at the door because they didnt have photo ID on them. I have never seen anyone asked for a photo ID when being signed in as a guest, ever, and had to walk a mile back across downtown Chicago in the cold after wasting all that time walking there from our hotel. Talk about one heck of a way to recruit new members...

This Planet Fitness is fantastic. I usually go over night and the workers are always helpful and making sure everything is in order. Miguel Gonzalez is working when I go and takes care of everything and anything. Very clean and welcoming staff, even with the hectic setting of downtown Chicago. Highly reccomend joining here.

Absolutely RUDE service!! I went in to sign up and the guy was completely dismissive. He showed me a flyer and then proceed to read it to me word for word as if I didnt understand. I asked if I could get a tour and he said no, he was the only person working in the entire building and couldnt leave the desk. That seems like a safely issue. Then he made me wait while he took a phone call for over 5 minutes. He asked questions but didnt wait for the answer, and then when it came time for payment, he demanded my banking info... Even though it clearly stated I could use a credit or debit card on the flyer! I told him I didnt feel comfortable giving out that personal information and he gave me an outrageous sum to pay upfront that didnt add up ($199.99 does not equal 10x12 + 39.99). I mentioned this and he showed me the door! Honestly it was ridiculous. I had a membership in the past that let me use a card and he was just so patronizing that I dont know why he doesnt get the lunk alarm.

This gym has a good value for the money.You are guaranteed to find something you like with the trainers who are friendly and more than willing to help out.Recommended!

Ive been a Planet Fitness member for a handful of years now, and been to a few different gyms, but this location is hands down the best. The convenience of their classes and its location have done wonders for my workout routine, but its really the staff that bring it all together. Being able to walk into your gym and know the names of the employees is such a welcoming feeling. Ive got to give a special shout out to Brandon and Alex- Brandon runs a great store and Alex works my ass off. I feel pretty certain that without this gym, it wouldve taken me a LOT longer to get in the groove of fit and healthy. Life changing. Huge thanks.

Good equipment. Clean space. Only downsides are that its really hot in the fitting room, no towels or soap/shampoo in the showers, and the whole gym smells like laundry detergent but to the point that it makes me nauseated if I work out for more than 20 minutes.UPDATE: Since the place flooded like a month ago they turned the heat up ever since and its been way too hot.

No AC, fans barely work. This has been going on for the entire summer. Staff helpful but upper management utterly useless. Have mentioned it to front desk multiple times, front desk responds that the owners know about it and are `working on it. 4 months later they are still working on it.

This has been the worst location I have ever been. THE WIFI DOES NOT WORK! When I confronted the front desk employee. He told me that the router is in the back and because of the concrete it blocks the signal. This is a known issue that they are not working on. This location is convenient for me to work out after work. I just can not take it anymore. It is already so small and the locker room doesn’t have a changing area. Honestly the worst location. I love the one in Bolingbrook and Woodridge ! Downtown location you won’t see me again.

I use to be a member of the Planet fitness on Illinois. I left because there is a planet fitness near my home in evergreen park. On Memorial day due to the rain it was closed. I work down the street from the planet fitness on Illinois street. I explained my situation to them and was told that I could not work out there because I am not a black card member and that they would charge me $5 dollars a day to use the facility. I can remember when this planet fitness on Illinois would close due to pipes bursting which happened often. I would go to the planet fitness in evergreen park and they would let me workout with no charge. I will not be recommending my co-workers or anyone else to this facility. This is not good customer service!!!!!

I am a member at a different location, I was planning on switching from my home gym to this PF but I started to notice how filthy the gym and especially the bathrooms became to be. The staff is great but the management is poor. Even after reporting to Amanda who apparently is the manager...seems to be like nothing has improved! I recommend people think twice before coming to this location!!!

My Account was just charge again!!! and because i didnt enter my check into the account i use for the bill its NEGATIVE!i read the information about the cancellation top to bottom.No one Should Be taking Money out my account after the paper and man told me there will be no more fees now my bank will charge me for this, and planet fitness will be Sued!

Loved this gym while I lived in Chicago, they were great help and were able to help me with cancelling when I moved back to Canada. Awesome service by Alyssa :) Its definitely a first time gym goers type of gym and Im not too keen on the whole hunk alarm thing but it worked for me!

If I can give 0 starts I would. I came to this planet fitness because my hotel was across and I am a black card member at a different facility in Las Vegas. Only to find out that the bathroom is always dirty no matter what day I went . The machines are very dusty and the Manger with the name Amanda was no help, one of the staff members ( Asian looking short with glasses) was always in his phone. The only helpful person was a girl by the name of Guadalupe.

Close to job and able to get a good workout in during my lunch. Facilities are always clean and staff are friendly.

It could be a simple 5 stars if this place can stay warm this winter and we can keep the bathrooms up to date. Ive been coming the past week and a half and the same sandals are on top of the lockers.

My first time at this Planet Fitness was as usual at any gym, the biggest thing is I dropped my phone in the floor duct leading to the floor below mines ceiling. I couldnt reach it and neither could an employee at the time. Two days later the wonderful GM emailed me saying he found the phone and that it had no damage! I really recommend anyone looking for some gym time to go here! Wonderful staff.

Its a great little gym for the price but it can get really busy around 4-6pm. The employees are nice and respectful and the ladies locker rooms are always clean.

Advertises as 24/5 schedule but closes at 7pm on Friday’s. Take down the 24/5 sign on the front if you can’t provide a couple more hours of service. False advertising, plain and simple.

I waited 30 minutes on the front desk. no one was working at that time there was a line of people and people working out said to go check on the back room because thats where they normally hang out. I knocked and no one showed up after 30 minutes. I left and called the corporate office left a voicemail and no one returned my calls 3 days later send an email and nothing happened definitely going to cancel my membership. This place is a joke. Theres so many people out there with good job skills and they hired the worst.

It was very packed here and the equipment was spread out in a way I didnt understand.. there are two upstairs entrances to different machines rather than upstairs connecting and very little space to share in the free weights area. I dont even think it was busy it could have just seemed that way by the little space and awkward entrance through Whole Foods and a parking lot. I wish they had a paid parking garage or at least discounted parking rates for the garage its attached to. I try to avoid this location because of the hassle but if Im ever walking or taking public transport downtown Ill stop in.

It is my second bad experience on planet fitnnes. I travel a lot for my work and I always look for nearby gymnasiums and it bothers me that in this gymnastics they do not have suitable opions for visitors. I find it ridiculous to pay for a $ 20 day pass when the monthly membership in that gym is worth $ 10

For a downtown club, this location is great! I can easily get there from the Red line and any form of public transportation! I also love the fact that there are stairs from lower Illinois to Upper so when I run up them I feel like Rocky!

Planet Fitness is a scam. For 6 months Ive been trying to cancel my account to no avail with these people. I called the location to finally put an end to this and Angie just told me theres nothing she can do and theyll just keep trying to charge me until they just take me to collections. She offered no assistance in solving my issue at all, nothing. How absurd is that to say to someone, customer or not? Posting on the BBB website right now as well for shady business practices, Im sure theyll love to hear about this. What a scam of a company, seriously.

Without warning, they cancelled the parking next door. No signs up warning that it was coming to an end. I parked in the lot and then when i went in to get it validated, front desk informed me that they were no longer going to allow that. Really wish they still had parking now i will have to go to a different gym.

I like this location but wish they had more convenient hours. I rushed over one day after work to find they were closed. Then when I checked the website they are only open 24 hours Mon-Wed that isnt even 24-5 like the sign says. I actually used to work for this company and that was a big selling point... I am sad this one isnt open a little later
